WCCP enabled 6500 switch causing troubles with Bluecoat 400 Series

On Bluecoat 400 series proxy SG when send client IP feature is enabled is posing issues when the redirection is inbound coming from Web server. Send client IP feature has to be turned on the Bluecoat device to understand the logs of IDS as the IDS's are only logging the IP of proxy which is not desirable for tracking individual client activity.I hope making sense to all the network professionals out there..any help is appreciated.

X-Fi Xtereme Music mode switching and troubles with channels redirection

Good Day.
I have bought a X-Fi sound card and now I have troubles with my speaker system. I have analog stereo system and headphones, I connect them using my amplifier. All cables are connected properly.
When I use entertainment mode there are no problems with speaker system if 2.0/2.1 is set. But if I set headphones channels become redirected: left becomes right and right becomes left.
When i use game mode channels are redirected both in 2.0/2.1 and headphones modes.
If I connect my headphones to sound card directly there are no problems excepting entertainment mode 2.0/2.1 when channels are redirected.
Please halp me to resolve the problem.

Pre-n enabler seems to cause issues with lock up/beach ball

I just received my new C2D MBP yesterday with 3G of RAM and all was peachy. I decided to install the $1.99 Pre-N enabler patch from Apple and it appears that I'm not alone in having that cause system lock ups and beach balls from ****.
I unfortunately seem to be in the same boat. It runs for awhile and then all of a sudden it will just lock up and I'll get the spinning beach ball from **** forever, until I reboot.
I'm using mine with a NetGear Pre-N wireless router and while I'm getting 140kpbs connections I am getting a lot of receive errors and the machine just goes off to la-la land.
I was worried about something else until I read these posts over in Internet & Networking and now I'm wondering if there really is an issue with whatever the "enabler" did. It ceratinly appears to be this. Nothing else seems to cause it this kind of beach ball death.
So now I guess we need to look for an "un-enabler" patch. Just out of curiosity where do we email problems like this to get resolved?

After installing the enabler from the apple site i verified it upgraded properly and it shows a/b/g/n for my airport card. However the computer has been locking up more and more. I finally narrowed it down to the airport card. Here is what happens:
Steps to Reproduce:
With regular airport usage, the mac will all of the sudden give the spinning 'beach ball' and just sit there. A simple http download will stop and the mac will become unresponsive. I cannot launch new applications. The icons will bounce in the dock but never open. I cannot force-quit any applications. My only option is to hold down the power button for a hard shutdown.
I can almost duplicate the issue 7 times out of 10. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes or so before it locks up, sometimes its almost immediately.
I have done a full fsck and permissions. I also downloaded tiger cache cleaner and cleaned all settings. I have also booted off the apple install cd and done a extended full RAM check on the 2Gb installed in my computer.
I have restored my IO80211Family.kext from my other macbook pro (regular core duo) and my problems have gone away. I am 100% sure there is a bug with the 802.11n enabler and the Linksys WRT350N.
I do not have any special configuration on my linksys, just MAC based wireless authentication.
When using the MacBook pro on the WRT350N in 802.11g without the latest 802.11n enabler the mac performs fine and does not become unresponsive.
Expected Results:
I expect the mac to perform just as a 802.11g network will work with increased transfer speeds.
Actual Results:
See above.
Regression:
It only occurs when using network traffic (i.e Mail.app, Safari browsing sites, etc. Any application that requires Airport.
Notes:
I am using the original IO80211Family.kext driver that does not have 802.11n support and it works properly. Also using builtin ethernet with airport off and the 802.11n driver works (obviously).

QuickTime causing trouble with System Prefs

When I open this page

I see the QT logo and at the bottom right there is the animated logo. But this logo does not show properly. It is messed up and is blurred. Sometimes it looks alright, most times the circle is not completed.
Then there is the matter of the Enable instant on that cannot be changed.
I verified permissions, verified disk and all are OK.
Most disturbing of all: when I click on the Advanced tab in the QT window in System Preferences it hangs Systems Prefs (not responsive).
It looks like there is something wrong with the latest version.

Having problems with your Airport interface?
Sometimes configuration or plist files get screwy... Remove and re-add the buggy interface.
Just go to System Preferences > Network > Airport
...then click the "-" button at the bottom of the list. Finally, click the "+" button and choose the Airport interface - rename to Airport if the number bugs you.
Does that help? Please post back and let me know. You should also do a Permissions Repair from Disk Utility.

Microsoft Anti-Counterfeit Program Causing Trouble with I-Tunes?

Okay, my girlfriend had a family friend build a computer for her, and of course, he installed a counterfeit XP Pro OS. She recently received the anti-counterfeit warning, and dutifully ordered the fix from MSOFT, for $149 and change.
You get the disk, which you don't need to use, and you need to run a tool which allows you to replace your counterfeit OS software key with a new one. And she did this successfully.
But now I-tunes 6 won't let her run her songs. Relevant messages are:
(1)"This computer is not authorized to play [x], wouldyou like to authorize it."
(2) She logs in with password, then it says..."Machine Authorization Successful, you have authorized 1 out of 5etc."
(3) But hit OK and you get - "We could not complete your music store request, an unknown error occurred (-208). There was an error in the music store, try again later."
Is I-tunes relying on the software key to verify authorized computers, but not able to handle a key change? Considering the scale of the MSOFT anti-counterfeit program, probably gonna be trouble! Any known info on fixing this issue?

Its a corrupt SC folder.... First goto Advanced>deauthorize over and over til you get "This PC has not been authorized"

Two iCloud accounts cause trouble with Calendar

Hello!
Accidentially I set up a second iCloud account on my second MacBook Pro. I know that was stupid... Now I want to fix this and only use one account to sync everything between my two MacBooks and iPhone.
I set up the same iCloud account in the preferences of all apps like contacts and calendar on all my devices as well as in the system preferences/icloud. It works well for contacts but not for calendar. Calendar on my second MacBook and iPhone is not switching to the new iCloud and its evets. It still shows the old events and doesn't sync.
I already tried switching iCloud off and back on after a minute for the calendar. Even waiting for 2 days and restarting the computer doesn't help.
Can I somehow delete the second iCloud account and all its data to maybe fix the trouble by that?
Btw: I have all latest software and updates on my devices.

You could simply set up calendar sharing (see also: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH2690). Justopen the calendar app on your iOS device, click calendars, and then the little "i" icon, here you can add other people and share your calendar.

Update loaded and caused trouble with mail.

got my computer after thanksgiving and it was working great until an automatic update loaded. Now I cannot get it to load hotmail at all. I do not get an error message or anything but a blank page thata says done. I have tried to restore to a few days before the download but it did not fix the problem. Does anyone have any idea what I cam do to fix this issue. It seems that everything else is working fine except the games that came WITH the computer do not play now either. (The orb games). They will load but when you hit play they just stop. Any help would be appreciated.

tried restore but hotmail still will not pull up. All the updates were to do with office except 1 that was silverlight. Don't know what that is but could it be the one that caused the problem?

Does Mavericks cause trouble with iDVD?

Why since I upgraded to Mavericks, some software doesn't work anymore? Such as iDVD, Adobe After effects, FCP sometimes shows an error message in a red background that didn't do before...

iDVD 7.1.2 works as advertised with Mavericks for me. What version are you using and what happens when you try to launch it?

Update causing trouble with Mac Mail

I did the update this morning. All seemed ok until I tried to send an email. I can receive but not send. I check and all outgoing mail servers were gone. So I try to add my server back, get to the advanced screen to add my password and port info, when I go to click on OK nothing happens. I can't go anywhere and I have to quit mail.
Any suggestions or anyone else have this issue?

Trouble with Firewire 400 ports

My firewire ports seem to be working intermittently. Sometimes my external drive will hang when I am trying to back up data to it, and nothing works except to unplug the drive (ouch!). I have tried Force Quit and even tried to shut down the computer. When the drive is hung, I can't get the computer to shut down. The drive light is on, like data is being written, but nothing is going on.
I suspected the drive and tried to use Disk Warrior, but Disk Warrior crashed before it finished rebuilding the directory.
The drive works fine on my other computer, a PowerBook G4, 17 inch running OS X 10.4.
I repaired Disk Permissions, but that doesn't help.
I have several other FireWire drives and they have the same sort of problems when connected to my iMac.
Is there some program I can run to check the FireWire ports?

Try this:
First:
1. Shut down the computer.
2. Disconnect all FireWire devices and all other cables, except the keyboard and mouse cable(s).
3. Disconnect the computer from the power outlet and wait for 3 to 5 minutes.
4. Plug the computer back in and turn it on.
5. Reconnect the FireWire device(s) (one at a time if there is more than one) and test. Test with each FireWire port if you have more than one.
Zapping the PRAM:
After the startup tone, hold down <commandd><option><r> until 3 additional startup tones are heard, then release the 4 keys.
Or you can try resetting the NVRAM
After the startup tone, hold down <command><option><o><f> until the text screen is visible. When text can be entered, type the following commands, followed by the <return> key (there are no space characters in each command):
reset-nvram
set-defaults
reset-all (the Mac will boot up after this command is entered)

Did you "install" the printer/plotter again?
Open Print and Fax
Click on the + (plus) button at the bottom of the printer list to start the process
Hopefully, your Plotter/printer will show up
If yes, click to highlight the name of the device
Click Add
Now try to print. It will appear as if you have two of the same printers. You must choose the correct "location" to print.
I do not know if a Plotter is supported at the AirPort Extreme. If the device does not "show up" after you click the plus button, the Plotter is not going to work when connected to the AirPort Extreme. You will need to connect it directly to your computer.

Trouble with Aironet 1300 series

I have a cisco aironet 1300 series and i need to reset it back to factory default. the directions say push the mode button while the access point is off and then turn it on while the mode button is down...
i don't see one button on this thing anywhere.

Hi Jim,
The 1310 bridge/injector do not have a mode button for configuration reset. However, you can reset the configuration if you use the console port on the injector:
1) Connect console port and power-cycle unit
2) When IOS starts loading, hit ESC key twice to get to the boot-loader prompt
3) At the boot-loader prompt show a directory of the flash filesystem (dir flash:)
4) Delete or rename the files "config.txt" and "env_vars", then boot the system ("delete flash:/config.txt" "delete flash:/env_vars")
(The default user/pass should be Cisco/Cisco)

Having trouble with the ethernet cable

Hello-
All of the sudden the ethernet cable I have been using for my MacBook Pro seems to be causing trouble with my streaming, especially when watching live online streams like from CBS New.com, MSNBC, etc. I had not had any trouble until recently but when I push the ethernet cable in a little bit the stream seems to pick up. This also did happen the last time I installed the latest Flash update. When I do the Software Update, it goes OK, it just seems to be the live video streams.
I thought I would get a new ethernet cable since I do not know how to hook up my Airport Extreme with the odd set up where I am staying.
Is there a better kind of ethernet cable or does it matter what kind I get? any recommendations on a good ethernet cable (brand) I should try?
I would uninstall the latest Flash update, but every time I mess around with Flash it causes trouble, but not the kind of trouble I am having now.

The weakness is in the connection between the main base station and the remote (in this case the AEBS (g).

Can div's ids cause trouble with a javascript loaded flash?
I'm using the swfobject javascript to load a flash animation
(this code helps the submenu layers appear on top of the flash
animation and makes that weird gray line in IE go away).
I have many divs without id, the animation should load into a
div called "mainflash". When I have all those div inside the same
table as the "mainflash" div, the flash animation does not load.
After many tests I found out that only with all those other
divs in the different tds of the table the animation fails to show,
which leads me to thinking the .js code might get confused with all
those unidentified divs.
Is that possible? This only happens in firefox 2 when using a
mac.
