WcmUrl - Use default Web site section metadata

We are generating links using links wizard and using "Use default Web site section metadata" option.
We are expecting hyperlinked content file displays in the Web site section as currently specified in the Web Site
Section metadata field for the content file.
Link wizard is generating following link.
[!--$wcmUrl(’link’,’10024’)--]
From the primary page of section 1 and doing mouse over on a secondary page link of section 2. It is generating URL with section 2.
Issue:
From the secondary page of section 1 and doing mouse over on a secondary page link of section 2. It is generating URL with section 1.
Expected:
From the secondary page of section 1 and doing mouse over on a secondary page link of section 2. It should generate URL with section 2.

Distribution Point IIS Config - Multiple applications using Default Web Site

Hi all,
I've having some problems with a distribution point, when trying to download content I'm getting the following error in the datatransferservices.log:
Error sending DAV request. HTTP code 500, status 'Internal Server Error'
Looking at IIS, I can see that another application (uniflow print server) has published folders under the Default Web Site.
Reading
similar errors it appears it may be to do with ISAPI filters being configured by the other application. Unfortunately these filters are required by the Uniflow application. So, my question is:
Is there any way to change the web site used by the distribution point?

Not on a one off basis, no. The web sites are tied to ports which means you would also have to change the port. Both are global changes. The better solution is to not multi-purpose a DP.

Cannot start default web site

I was being a nice husband and moving my wife to a new machine while she is in India on business. I went to join the machine using the connector and the connector install failed. During the troubleshooting of this issue I installed patches and rebooted.
I do not often patch so there were a few. Upon reboot I am unable to start the default website. I get the error This website cannot be started. Another website may be using the same port. I also did a netstat –o to see if anything was running on port 80. Can
anyone assist me?

What's your mean of "cannot start default web site"？
If you mean that the client can't access the website, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
Please try to ping an external IP address. If timeout occurs, this is a connectivity issue. You need to check the IP address, netmask, gateway, DNS.
Please try to run nslookup www.microsoft.com. If this website can't be resolved, this is a DNS issue. Please check the DNS settings and the firewall settings.
If all these tests passed, please try to reset your Internet Explorer.
If you mean that the server can't start the website in IIS, please check if there is any warning or error in the event viewer of the server. Besides, please try to start the IIS manually. If any error pops up, please post it here. It may give some hints.

I use a web site called ACRIS- up until yesterday I could access all parts of the site, including calling up images of deeds. Now I can no longer get the images via firefox, but can them via windows explorer. Why? How do I fix this?

I use a web site called ACRIS- it allows me to access NYC Finance dept records- specifically images of deeds. Up until yesterday I had no problem. Then without any apparent reason I could access all parts of the site, but could not access the deed images. First I thought it was a problem on their end, which sometimes happens, but after waiting 24 hours I was still having the problem. Then I tried windows explorer and it worked without any problem. How do I fix this?

First question I would ask is what has changed recently? Did you add any new extensions or add-ons?
I'd try starting Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If you don't have the issue while all of your add-ons, extensions, and themes are disabled, you can try adding them back in one by one until you find the culprit. You should look at the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting-extensions-themes Extensions and Themes troubleshooting guide ] and the [[Troubleshooting plugins]] article as well.

I would turn on the "show java console" and the "log output" options in the java console. You should then be able to see the reason the application will not start.

How to nest a WCF service into a virtual directory off the Default Web Site

I have a service called PdfCreator. I want it installed on my servers in this directory for QA: "Default Web Site/QA/PdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc". I want it installed in this directory for DEV: "Default Web Site/DEV/PdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc".
If I specify QA/PdfCreator in the project's "Web service virtual directory name" field PB complains about invalid characters (the "/"). Is there any way to get around this? The only work around I can think of is adding "qa" or "dev" as a suffix/prefix to the virtual directory name ("Default Web Site/QAPdfCreator/PdfCreator.svc") which doesn't really give me what I want.
This isn't a big deal with only a few services but could become one as more are created.

Server default web site goes to wiki

Hello all
I am running mavericks and server 3.0.1
and is I enable wiki server the default website goes directly to the wiki part and not to the top level server site....

If you enable the wiki system it will always be what you reach if you use the default name for that IP address.
Create at least one other DNS 'name' for the same IP address. Have the wiki site respond if you address the computer by the original name. You can enter any number of other web sites in the 'Websites' list on the Websites panel, and specify which 'Domain Name:' reaches each one of them.
Suggestions:
wiki.example.com
www.example.com
Something like that.

Leopard Server redirecting the default web site

Because my company's website and my blog are dynamic I had to use mod_jk in order to redirect to JBoss which means that I cannot access the default Mac OS X Server web site any longer.
In the httpd.conf I added a mod_jk redirection for '/' and '/*'.
Any ideas how I make them appear again under a sub context like '/internal'.

Eventually I created an internal web site that would not use mod_jk and so is happily redirecting me to the old, default website. The only thing that was important is to make sure that I removed '*' from the web server aliases.

I wish to use the default web interface for my users, I do not have the time to develop a custom app. I wish to get rid of the group and and mount point folders.

CM SDK 9.0.4 (released very shortly) includes the "Web Starter Application". This is a J2EE Web Application with full MVC architecture and completely open source!
You may be able to obtain this application sooner from Oracle Consulting - it will work on the current CM SDK 9.0.3.
JSP and Tag Libraries make up the UI. The controller framework is similar to Jakarta Struts. It offers localization support, ADA compliance etc.
You can easily develop the application from JDeveloper and deploy to 9iAS.

How to set the default web site for WGM users

Hi,
In Tiger server there was a place to input the URL of the default web page for all browsers when users logged into network home folders. This was really helpful and saved a bunch of bandwidth and class time. Is there any way to do this in Leopard server? If so, please point me in the right direction.

When using a web site that opens a window within a window, Firefox doesn't perform this task as it normally would, but Internet Explorer still performs it as it should. Does anyone know what the problem is?

When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
(You also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button ''or'' Tools menu > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now")
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first) using either of these:
While viewing a page on the site:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?

The question raised here is a very common question as soon as you want to fully integrate one or multiples LR galleries into a wide website. I'm currently facing exactly this problem.
At the moment, the solution I foresee is by using HTML FRAME. This is a very simple solution which seems not to be the top of the art for the technical point of view, but at least, it is easy to setup and for the moment, I didn't encountered any issues.
One problem, as far I understood, is that it is not possible to use one CSS for your website. Each FRAME has it's own characteristics. In other words, that means the organization of your website is defined by two differents technical mechanisms : CSS and HTML FRAME.
I'm not quite sure what is the most appropriate approach, using FRAME or iFrame. It would be great if anyone of you could show us a real example.

Unable to Create Website using "Create Web Site" action component in Release Management

Hi Team,
I am trying to use Release Management to Deploy my Website along with DB in staging servers.
I have set-up 2 Staging Servers SIT & UAT Both 2012 Servers with IIS 8.5 Configured.
Defined Release Path and Release template.
Deployment Sequence is something like this :
Deployment Sequence - Server Name - Create Folder - XCopy - Create Website - Configure Website
Build is successful, drops the output to Output folder and RM gets initiated with it's work.
It creates folders as mentioned in the "Create Folder" activity.
It copies the whole content from _PublishedWebsites to the mentioned location.
It gets stuck with the "Create Website" step.
Initially I have provided details as follows :
AppPoolName
IsPreloadEnabled
IsAutoStart
SiteName FabrikamSIT
PortNumber 80
PhysicalPath c:\FabrikamRM\WebSite\SIT
Later, I tried providing
AppPoolName DefaultAppPool
IsPreloadEnabled 1
IsAutoStart 1
SiteName FabrikamSIT
PortNumber 80
PhysicalPath c:\FabrikamRM\WebSite\SIT
Then also no luck.
Deployment gets rejected and the error that you can see when you hover the mouse is :
Task failed with the exit code -2146232576".
No much info available with this eror code in net also.
Any help in getting this simple site created is highly appreciated.

For the deployment sequence, you might need add the action of "create application pool" before creating a website.
Another method is check whether the build output can be deployed manually. If yes, then you can trobleshoot the problem in your deployment sequence and parameters. You can create the website manually and deploy your build output to the website. If you have
any other concerns about the deployment, you can also open a new thread in IIS forum for a better response.
If the issue persists, please elaborate more details about your scenario with sceenshots.
