WCS 5.2.110.0 problem (Win2003 Server)

Hi,
I'm having a minor problem with WCS v.5.2.110.0. WCS is working correctly, but when I log off from the server, WCS stops.
WCS software is running as service and there is no other software running on the server. The system requirements and Windows updates are ok.
Any advice?
Thanks.

Hi PetriSignal
We experienced this exact same issue on a Windows 2003 Server. It is apparently a known issue with all advertised 5.2 releases. The Bug ID = CSCsx34113
We have found no workaround for it so have had to go back to 5.1 until Cisco release a fix.
Hope that helps.

  • Installing 9i on win2003 server and patch 9.2.0.6

    Hi,
    here's my problem:
    I want to install the Oracle 9i DB Standard Edition on a win2003 server.
    In the download page, I have the following options:
    1) Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal/Client Edition for Windows Server 2003 (32-bit)
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/win2k3soft.html
    2) Oracle9i Database Release 2 Enterprise/Standard/Personal Edition for Windows NT/2000/XP
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/oracle9i/htdocs/winsoft.html
    In the option 1) it states "...dard/Personal/CLIENT Edition ..." Even though the OS is the appropiate one, it seems that this download refers to the client tools.
    In the option 2) it states "for Windows NT/2000/XP" and then I don't know if it is valid for a win 2003 OS.
    And then I would like to update the 9.2.0.1 installation to a 9.2.0.6 using a Patch set referred as Patch 3948480 and called "Oracle9i Patch Set Notes
    Release 2 (9.2.0.6.0) Patch Set 5 for Windows (32-Bit) ".
    From this i understand that is the right patch for my OS but it doesn't work.
    So, 2 question:
    1) which download should I install? the one for the win NT/XP and so on OR the one referred to the win 2003 os
    2) and secondly, why does not the patch set work properly on my win 2003 OS?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi.
    I don't think that is entirely correct. I believe that I have been involved in either installation of 9.2.0.1 on 2003 server with standard patching all the way up to 9.2.0.7 using the Win-32bit software available from technet and metlink.
    From what I can see from the release notes from Technet on 9.2.0.3, this is simply a standard patchset that you could have found on metalink. Probably Oracle has only certified version 9.2.0.3 or higher for 2003 server. The following is written in the release note:
    This patch set has the following system requirements: Item Requirement
    Hardware Platform Intel Pentium
    Operating System Windows 2000(Service Pack 2), Windows NT 4.0 , Windows 98(Client only), Windows XP Pro
    RDBMS Baseline Release 9.2.0.1.0
    This very same patchset is available from Metalink if you search for 9.2.0.3 for windows 32-bit.
    So if I were you I know what I would have done. This is stated earlier:
    Install latest full version from technet (9.2.0.1).
    Apply patchset 9.2.0.7 from MetaLink.
    Or you could as you suggested, install 9.2.0.1. Apply patchset 9.2.0.3 and furher apply patchset 9.2.0.7.
    Good luck

  • WCS 7.0 time zone problem

    Hello,
    I've recently installed WCS 7.0 on a windows 2003 server and set the time zone on windows to be my local time, UYST which is GMT -2, but when I check on the WCS all times are on GMT not on UYST. Now if I change the time zone on windows to brazil, all times are shown correctly on WCS as BRST, so I know that WCS can display timezones other than GMT, it just doesn't seem to like UYST for some reason. Is there a way to define that time zone on the WCS application or at least check which timezones are supported?.
    Regards,
    Gabriel

    Thanks for your reply Nicolas, I tried configuring the GMT -2 mid-atlantic timezone and as you said it shows correctly on WCS as GST. But if I try with for example GMT -3 Buenos Aires time zone or GMT -2 Montevideo time zone, all times are shown on WCS as GMT. As you said is not that there's a problem with the time zones on WCS is just that it doesn't recognizes some of them, that's why I was wondering if there was a way to manually add them or request them to be added on a patch.
    Regards,
    Gabriel Silva.

  • Listener Issue on Win2003 Server

    Hi,
    I have recently installed 10gR2 on a win2003 server which already housed a 9i DB. My listener's are all messed up now and I have no idea how it happened. I created a listener for the 10g and I can connect to the 10g DB but I can not connect to the 9i instance. What is the best practice here? Should I have one listener per home or can I have 1 listener for the whole host (listener running out of the highest HOME level)
    Can someone please advise here?

    OK, I am running into a problem here. Check out my two listener files. version 10 is set to Auto and version 9i is set to manual (but I can not start it for some reason)

  • Htmlcss doesn't work on win2003 server

    Hi,
    I have tested 10g report with desformat=htmlcss, in Win 2000 or XP OS, it worked, the font size will use size 9, 10 and 12 as my set in the report, but in Win2003 server edition OS, all the font size is 12, it looks like htmlcss doesn't work (or CSS doesn't work?).
    I don't know it's a bug or not, or anybody can help me?
    Thanks in advance!
    Jordan

    You mean that you were using an older version of MySQL and now are using a newer version.
    Have you considered using SQL that is more standard and prepared statements as well?
    Different version of JDBC? JDBC itself is a collection of interfaces and some framework code used to load the driver and proxy the calls. So it isn't JDBC.
    Perhaps you meant the MySQL driver? If so you are having a problem finding the correct version of that to download?

  • Network home permissions -- SMB connection on Win2003 Server

    Has anyone had any problems with permissions with SMB network home folders on a Windows 2003 server?
    With 10.4, our users can connect and edit all of the files in their home folder. They also have no access to any other home folders other than they can see the folder name.
    With 10.5, their root home folder is locked and they have read-only access to the same folder with the same permissions as 10.4. Other mac-created folders such as Dekstop, Documents, Music, Library, etc. list them as "custom access" but the users do have permission to create and edit files in these folders. Folders created by windows (My Music, My Pictures) are locked and have read-only access like the root home.
    This issue is making it so the users cannot login. They get the "Your are unable to log in to the user account "xxxxxx" at this time - Logging in to the account failed because an error occurred"
    These computers are working file for home folders that connect via AFP to a mac server. It's just SMB to Windows.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you,
    JB

  • New AFP shared drive on Win2003 Server not working

    Hi Guys,
    Need some help with getting new HD setup on our PC server. We have a PC network guy, but he's not helpful on the mac side. We do have exsisting AFP share (on a diff drive on the system sata controller) that works no problem, but this new drive is read only still. No problem SMB, but need AFP for full use. We have a mixed environment of 10.3.9 and up on G4-G5s and all experience the same issue with full permissions or not in both share and security - always read only. It is an appleshare. Our network guy had issues with it reverting to X$ id in the setup. He reset it to static name. Our other drive is set up as N$ and shares the drive to everyone who has appropriate permissions. Wondering if there is someting odd in the setup that is contributing. Its icon on the server is also different than the icon picked up for the two on the sata, C$, N$. The new drive shows up with a "sharing hand" icon instead. Just seemed weird, but I know nothing of PCs - laugh quietly pls. All user sharing and security settings seem to be identical on the drives and shared volumes. Any ideas? Need more info?
    Thx!

  • Problem in Server side includes using Tomcat

    Problem in Server side includes using Tomcat:
    I am trying out small programs in servlet.
    I get one example program for server side includes from net.
    The code is:
    <HTML>
    <HEAD><TITLE>Times!</TITLE></HEAD>
    <BODY>
    <P>
    The current time in London is!!! :
    <SERVLET CODE="CurrentTime" codebase="../servlet">
    <PARAM NAME="zone" VALUE="GMT">
    </SERVLET>
    </P>
    </BODY>
    </HTML>
    I placed this test.shtml file in tomcat-home/webapps/ROOT folder and i kept the servlet in WEB-INF/classes folder.
    I renamed the servlets-ssi.jar and i removed the comments for SSI in web.xml file.
    When i run the servlet separately, i am getting the correct result. But if i run shtml file with the URL : http://localhost:8080/Test.shtml,
    i am getting the result as:
    The current time in London is!!! :
    It is not invoking servlet program.
    CAN ANYONE HELP ON THIS!
    Thanks.

    Thanks...as u said I tried putting dir & found that
    my file was saved as Ch1Servlet.java.txt instead for
    Ch1Servlet.java......So that was a problem.Now I'm
    able to compile.Oh, yeah. Notepad will do that to you. I think when you save in Notepad if you put quotes around the name "Whatever.java" then it won't add the .txt.
    But on compiling I'm getting the following error
    package java.servlet.* does not exist
    package java.servlet.http.* does not exist
    package java.io.* does not exist
    Do u the reason for this??? The servlet stuff is java[b]x.servlet. For the io stuff, I don't know, I'd have to see your code. Either you have a typo or a corrupt installation.

  • SAP ECC 6.0  Kernel Upgrade for 32 bit Win2003 Server

    Dear All,
        We are in the process of updating kernel patch (Unicode) in our Solution Manager system which is running on - 32 bit Xeon processor - Win2003 server.
    When we download kernel patch from SAP Market place, there lists kernel patch only for IA32-32-bit (Windows Server on IA32 32bit), but not for x86-32 bit.
    But in the case of 64 bit, we can find both for xeon and itanium processor ( ie., Windows Server on IA64 64bit,   Windows Server on x64 64bit )
    I quite confused to select the correct kernel patch for our 32 bit Xeon processor.
    Could anybody help me in this regard ?
    Regards,
    Sridhar

    Dear Reyes,
              Thank you for ur timely reply.
             Is there any SAP note regarding this, ie IA32 32 bit is compatible for x86 32 bit ?,
    Regards,

    Kindly help me to solve this iisuue

    1. Sometimes it may be normal behaviour. Partly interrupted ping stream need not be a sign of something wrong.
    2. There are more parameters that may play the role, namely the client. SMB version mismatch, autotuning and similar problems may cause irregularities. Also another computer on the same network may cause problem. (see 5)
    3. Are there any errors in Event logs? Is there any unresolved problem in Device manager (wrong NIC driver)?
    4. Use performance monitor to exclude problem with longer queues for NIC.
    5. Use network monitor for catching and analyzing network traffic.

  • Tried opening Firefox and got error code 502 - problem with server - how do i fix please

    i tried to open internet through Firefox as usual and got repeated error message 502 (problem with server - try again in 30 seconds) - but no joy. is there a problem with the server or is there a problem at my end somehow?
    tks Paul

    Thanks for the suggestion Rhonda. You're correct in saying this is impractical though. The fact is, I can't open a tab to keep it open. After doing some online research, I was able to locate a site where I could download a previous Firefox version (6.0). Problem solved! Google: "''How can I find a previous version of Firefox''. As I stated in my original question, Mozilla should not update w/o making certain it doesn't create these issues. I spent hours on this. I also turned off auto updates. I appreciate your suggestion. Thank you!

  • 10.5.4 Server and Win2003 Server

    I've got an XServer with 10.5.4 set up as an OD Master and also a PDC, allow guest access in enabled, and authentication is NTLMv2 and NTLM.
    When I try to have the Win2003 Server connect to the domain I am prompted for a Directory Admin account password. When I enter the diradmin account name and password a few seconds pass then there is an error message. On the OS 10 server, in the logs, I can see where diradmin connects and then the message diradmin not authorized.
    Has anyone had any success getting a win server to connect to a OS 10.5 server acting as a PDC? I've found plenty of info for going the other direction. What we want to have is the Mac server providing windows clients with login authentication.

    Hey David,
    I'm really not sure about how your going to get that to work because Microsoft don't allow you to really get "under the hood" of your Windows server, unlike OS X which is a unix variant you can fire up Terminal and do what ever your like. I imagine you could do it if you could make/or find some sort of plugin that would connect the windows server to the apple server using LDAP and grab directory information and populate active directory with that information?
    If such a thing exists I have no idea, again becuase you cant get "under the hood" with windows you can't do it manually like you could if it was an apple server?
    I wish you the best of luck but it could be a lost cause, however if you do manage it please write about it here I would be very interested to know as this is something I can only dream of, slaving windows to mac for a change!

  • How to handle Back button, Browser Refresh problem at server side.

    Hi Friends,
    How to handle Back button, Browser Refresh problem at server side in java?.
    I am able to trace that,
    request.getHeader("ACCEPT") is returning value- */*
    when the browser was refreshed and returning different MIME types
    for all other actions from browser.
    I have doubt, will the above solution works always for all servers,browsers?.
    Please also specify any solution to handle back button at server side?.
    Thanks in Advance.
    Venkat..

    I'm sorry I don't think tht's the right solution for
    the above question....
    We must be aware that whatever scripting methdologies
    we either javascript/vbscript would executed @
    client(browser) side not @ server side....
    Dud If U get a good solution keep me updated.....
    THANKS & REGARDS,
    RAHULMy dear friend ...
    the bad news is that u simply cant disable or add any listener to the back button of the browser.
    When u hit the back button of ur browser the URL gets re-executed. So in case u have a JSP then the history.forward() is the best solution. [only if the page doesnt get expired similar to secure https sites]
    Now dont say that user can have javascript disabled ...those users will have a pretty touch time browsing websites since javascripts r used extensively by almost all websites.
    But in case u have an action.do or servlet call then u need to manage it using a session variable since the request will be sent to the server rather than client.
    For multiple form submittion issues read the following article in javaworld...
    Client vs. server solutions
    Different solutions can solve this multiple form submission situation. Some transactional sites simply warn the user to wait for a response after submitting and not to submit twice. More sophisticated solutions involve either client scripting or server programming.
    In the client-only strategy, a flag is set on the first submission, and, from then on, the submit button is disabled based on this flag. While appropriate in some situations, this strategy is more or less browser dependent and not as dependable as server solutions.
    For a server-based solution, the Synchronizer Token pattern (from Core J2EE Patterns) can be applied, which requires minimal contribution from the client side. The basic idea is to set a token in a session variable before returning a transactional page to the client. This page carries the token inside a hidden field. Upon submission, request processing first tests for the presence of a valid token in the request parameter by comparing it with the one registered in the session. If the token is valid, processing can continue normally, otherwise an alternate course of action is taken. After testing, the token resets to null to prevent subsequent submissions until a new token is saved in the session, which must be done at the appropriate time based on the desired application flow of control.

    Hope u got the idea.
    FYI I have been using both these ideas in my credit card payment gateway project. This concept has worked really well.
