WCS 6.0.170.0 moving building to campus map

I've got a lot of building registered in the WCS I'm working with. I've now started the process of adding campus maps and would like to place the excisting buildings on that map somehow. Is this possible at all or do you always have to create campus map -> building -> floors. It is not an options (due to the lacking of time) to create the buildings and then adding floors mapping everything up. I simply want to place a building on a campus map or at least excisiting floors (with AP and obsticals on them) in a new building would also work although it'll be more work. Is any of this possible at all?

Take a look at this:

  • WCS/NCS: moving buildings between campuses

    Hi,
Is there any way to move buildings between two campuses in WCS/NCS?

    Omer,
The onlything I can thing of is going into a campus or building, then from the drop down clicking copy campus or copy building. Be sure to not name the campus "System Campus".
Should you want to move the map to another NCS/WCS you should be able to export the maps. If you're moving everything try exporting the database.
Also please see the following link regarding copying maps.

  • In WCS 6.0.170 do not see Client on the Map

    Hi All,
in a WCS ver 6.0.170 i have positioned an H-REAP AP un a floor area and i corrctly see the Heatmap  but if i choose to view in the AP Filter the "Assoc. Client,"
the clients count was  zero even if there are 1 or more client associate.
I have try on a WCS with version 6.0.132 and it was show but after the upgrade to the version 6.0.170 I can't see the assoc. client on the Map Too.
there is a bug in the  new version?
    thanks in advace
    Stefano

Our WCS was 4.2.128 prior to the direct upgrade to 6.0.170.
When hovered over an AP and selecting the 802.11b/g/n radio (the only band we use)  I still see 0 clients just as I do when clicking the > next to Access Points and chosen to display Assoc. Client on the upper left part of the screen for floor view map.  We see this on all maps, but the one I just tested on has 9 AP's and shows 46 clients in the table view of maps.
Also tested with root and TACACS+ superuser account with the same results.
    Any idea's?

  • Reporting Error in WCS 6.0.170

Runing the report, "Client Traffic Stream Metrics" and I get this error
The specified criteria did not match any data for the report.
Make sure that the following background tasks are running:
    1.Traffic Stream Metrics
    2.Radio Performance
I checked the background tasks and both have a Last Execution Status as "Success."
I forced the "Execute Now" comand on both tasks and reran the report but I get the same error.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Traffic Stream Metrics only apply to voice clients.  I have seen this issue when there are no voice clients and the report is being run against data clients.

  • Conditional Build Tags + Image Map + Popup Doesn't Work

For RH build X.5.0.2, I have images in some topics and a
conditional build tag is applied to those images. The images have
image maps drawn on them and those image maps launch popup topics.
Everything worked fine until I added the conditional build tag
--even though I'm not applying the conditional build tag when I
compile. Now when I click an image map, on an image that has a
conditional build tag applied (though not compiled) nothing
    happens.
    Can anyone help?

Did you apply the conditional tag before, or after you
inserted the image maps? Are there different results for the two
    approaches?

  • Moving itune library to mapped drive.

first of all my laptop is getting full with my music, so i bought an external 250g usb hard drive that is connectted to my networked home pc. i have the drive mapped in my laptop and am now in the process of trying to move my library to this mapped drive. how do i do this, and is it possiable to from now on store my files on the mapped drive and run i tunes from the c drive with no problems. also i read some forums putting down usb 2.0 external hd's saying they r not reliable, which kinds of scares me because i want to store my pics on there 2. is there any truth to those drives being unreliable because of the usb i/o input and output

I am afraid I found your last post difficult to follow.
If I understand you correctly your music is NOT all in your iTunes Music folder.
Do you want to keep your current folder structure?
If you do, life is difficult. The problem is that the iTunes library stores the full path to music files and if this changes, it can no longer find the files. It can cope with the iTunes Music folder being moved, but not other music folders.
The simplest thing is to just copy everything onto the external drive and start a new library, then add the folders to the new library. This loses all meta data and playlists.
Another alternative is to edit the iTunes Music Library.xml file to correct the paths with a text editor using search and replace. Then rebuild the library from the xml file. If this works, you keep playlists but still lose metadata.
It would be better to move everything into the iTunes folder on the external drive and let iTunes organise it. The way to do this is to follow my instruction for moving the iTunes folder. Then go to Edit>Preferences>Advanced>General and make sure "Keep iTunes Music folder Organised" is checked. Then consolidate your library, which is an option on the advanced menu.
This will copy all the music on your c: drive that was in you library but not in your iTunes Music folder into your iTunes Music folder on the extrenal drive. This way you keep all your meta data but lose control of how your files are organised. iTunes uses a basic Artist/Album arrangment.
Finally something to consider, if you are using a network drive, you might be better off keeping your library files on your internal drive and just moving the music files to the network drive from a performance point of view.
If you want to do that, the procedure is very simple but you have to sacrifice your folder structure and allow iTunes to organise your music. This Apple article tells you how:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301748
If you want others to have access to your music it needs to be in a shared folder which all users can access.

  • How to build a site map in Release 2 portal

Can any one tell how to generate a site map in portal release 2. We have all portal pages stored in pages group.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
thanks alot for these links! Glad to know that I am not the only person who didn't succeed using the forum search and thus I am obviously NOT stupid after all ;-)
Using your links I managed to install the portlet. However... (as always :()... the number of problems has exploded now:
1.) I have two languages installed in my portal (english=default and german). When switching to german (which is the language I installed in secaond place), the dropdown list of the site index portal for selecting the root page group won't show up with my custom page group that I have created. it only offers the default page groups like "corporate pages", "portal design-time pages" etc.). When changing to english, this problem doesn't exist (I can see my page group there)
2.) In our portal app, we link to the portal content from within an iframe. When clicking links inside my site map, however, the target pages will always open in the "top" frame, as it seems, not in the iframe itself :(. This looks like there is per default a "target=_top" attribute, which I don't want to have.
3.) Though I have installed the ptlnlsi.sql script according to the installation instructions, the message strings seem to be missing: In my portal browser, the site index portlet is displayed as
    "Missing string(sip_title) language(us) domain (wwc) sub_domain (ptl)"
The latter is of minor impact, but the first two problems completely crack up both our user access and page layout concept. I definitely have to find a solution to get rid of these, otherwise, the site index is of no use in our context.
    Can anybody help me, please?

  • Can i use WebApps to build a Google map with polygon territories instead of points (pins)?

I built a map with Google Maps Engine Pro - http://www.jmbcompanies.com/Services/Mitigation/map.
It showcases territories using a Google map polygon shape.  I wrote custom KML to create it.  However, with Google Maps Engine pro you cannot create custom hyperlinks.  It will link a URL that you put in the data, but you cannot name it or target the parent window, so therefore it opens a new tab for each click to more details.  I really want it to open the WebApp detail page for that item within the same window.
So, is there a way to use the BC integrated Google maps technology and show polygons instead of points on the map? I've used {module_webappsmap,20754,a} to place individual locations on a map, but what about territories or polygon areas?
I'm sure that I can create a WebApp to generate the KML for each placeholder.  But how do I turn that into a map?
    THANKS!!

You can not create a kml file in BC through webapps. Modules do not work in other file types and you do not have server code access to generate a file type of results.
You need to use the google API and do this yourself or you can just use this:
And embed it into a custom field. My Maps

  • Moving Error records while mapping

    Hi,
I have a simple one to one mapping. Consider Table_A is mapped to Table_B. Lets further assume that Table_A has 100 records.
On transformation Table_B has only 70 rows. I would like to trace remaining 30 rows.
Is it possible for me to move these 30 rows that are not inserted due to ANY reason to Table_ERR (being my third table)
The reason these 30 rows are not inserted can be anything….
    Rgds
    Saaz

    Hi Saaz,
You can now use an Error table. HAve a look at this thread (Re: Function of Error Table and see if you can use it.

  • Raw material Moving Avg. Price (MAP) should include overhead cost.

We receive a raw material that has unit price of USD 10, the material is used in BOM. We incur some additional cost on that material and want to include that additional cost as a part of raw material cost. Say additional cost is USD 1 per unit. We want the system to include USD 1 in material MAP making is USD 11 per unit (i.e. 10 + 1).
Please help how can we achieve this.
    regards
    Chris

    Hi
Your scenario would be better represented by Price Control S and using BOM/Routing/Prod order in PP... I dont know why your PP guys should be against it.... You should do it if you wanna capture the Loss of 13 kg in the system
Anotjer option is to create a condition type and assign an accrual key to the cond type so that the Offset for this cond type does not post to GR/IR account.. Else, your vendor would get paid extra
Refer this thread for more details
Raw Material costing and update to inventory valuation
PS: Note that raw mat cost estimate woyuld makes sense when you have S and not V

  • Moving a Pin in Maps??

I was doing a search for my business location using Maps, and the Pin dropped about a block away from my actual location. Is there a way to 'move' the pin to the correct location? It's not even on the right side of the street!

Visit Google Maps on a computer and find your location. They offer a way to update information on the Web.
The Map application just pulls from Googles database. So work with Google to get their database up to date. They have links for Business owners to further provide more details about their place of business (requires proving you own the business).

  • Adding campuses and moving buildings in WCS?

We have two problems, both of which run into what I think are limitations of WCS, and I'd love to hear any advice on how to deal with these.
    1) We're getting a new campus, which currently consists of one building, but will be expanding in the future. I want to create the new building as a standalone building, then add it to the new campus later, when we know how large the campus is going to be and what other buildings it will encompass. I haven't been able to figure out how to move a building from standalone to a campus, or from a campus to standalone or to another campus. Can this be done, and how?
    2) Our main campus is way too complex and has way too many small buildings for the interface. Even with a one-letter building designation the square representing the building will overlap neighboring buildings, especially if buildings aren't north-west oriented. Is there any way to "zoom" a campus map, or create sub-campuses? How are people dealing with this problem?

  • WCS Maps - Heat Signatures on multiple floors

I have a APs setup in my 11 story building on all the even floors starting with floor 2.  I have added the maps for all 11 floors into a building setup in our WCS.  However I am not seeing the heat signatures on the odd floors in which I would expect to see them after putting in the right dimensions in the building/floor config(s).  Is there something I am missing in order for the heat signatures to show up on the odd floors from the even floor APs?  Below is info on my equipment/software:
    WCS 6.0.170.0
    AP Type
    CAPWAP
    AP Model
    AIR-LAP1252AG-A-K9
    IOS Version
    12.4(23c)JA
    Thanks in Advance!

    Hi Jeremy,
heatmaps are not calculated in 3 dimensions. WCS can't know your floor height, neither the attenuation of the floor so it can't compute on a floor the heatmaps of APs placed on other floors.
    Hope this clarifies.

  • WCS from Windows to Linux

We are planning on moving our WCS 6.0.170.0 to Linux from it's current Windows 2003 OS to resolve performance and temp file allocation problems. We are planning to stay at the same revision for the move, and then upgrade once Ver7 is stable. Has any one had any issues in restoring their data base cross OS like this? Any other issues? Thanks

You shouldnt have an issue upgrading from to a different OS and from an earlier version at the sametime.
I recommend you to go to WCS 6.0.181.0 instead of 6.0.170.0.
Make sure to check the release notes for the software supported versions to upgrade from:
