WCS AP Setting - Antenna Mode - What does it do?

Hello,
I'm working configuring our wireless networking. When setting up AP templates in WCS I came across a setting that I'm not sure of and haven't been able to find anything about.
What is Antenna Mode and what does it do? There are three options that I've seen..
Sector A
Sector B
OMNI (Sector A and Sector B)
Does anyone know what these settings do?
Thank You!
Eric

Sector A = "Front"
Sector B = "Rear"
Omni = Front + Rear radiation pattern
Good Luck

Trying to update my new phone 4s to iOS6. It says my phone is in recovery mode what does this mean. And how do I solve it please?

It means exactly what it says.
Connect the device to iTunes and restore.

I keep getting message "This page requires a plugin that can only run in 32 bit mode" what does this mean and how can I fix it? It seems to come up randomly, but I'm fairly ignorant.

Previous versions of Firefox were only 32 bit, Firefox 4 for the Mac contains 32 and 64 bit versions. If you want to always start Firefox in 32 bit mode, open up Finder and go to the Applications folder. Control-click the Firefox app and click "Get Info", then select the "Open in 32-bit mode" option.

  • Spatial conform and blend mode; what does it mean and wherefore?

I can't find a explination in the help...: spatial conform and blend mode; what does it mean and when do you use it because there is e a big numbre of choises.
Ican't find a explination in the help...
    Thanks!

Spatial conform is where you decide whether you want the (oversize) image to fit the video display size, or to be full-size (allowing room for animation).
Blend modes - far too many to describe here even if I knew them all, but Overlay is a nice one to start with. They specify how you want a layer to blend with the one below it. Try them and see what they do.

  • On my mini ipad, I cleared the cookies/histories in the safari setting.  But what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  What's that used for? Thank you!

On my mini ipad, when I'm on the internet -- a few times I will see a blue small pop-up boxes telling me to allow down/load or add something like the bubble-splash game or something similar.  I jusr click ignore and it goes away.. I'm not sure why it's showing up lately.. I'm not sure if it's a virus or hacked in or a web brower matter..
Should I go to the cookies/histories in the safari setting and have it cleared out?  Will that help resolve that??
And what does the advance-setting of the clearing the website data does?  Sorry, I'm not familiar.. what's is that used for? Should I use that feature as well?? Thank you!

    This indicates corrupt files.
    A restore should resolve.

  • My ipad seems to be in recovery mode, what does that mean

    what do i do

I'm not sure what you are basing your statement on, but if you are seeing the iTunes logo and the USB cable on the iPad screen, that means that you have to connect the iPad to iTunes on your computer.
If you cannot restore the iPad for some reason, then you have to use recovery mode which is described here.

  • Collections Action mode - What does it do? BRM 7.3.0

We're on an old version here and I'm pretty sure that this functionality has been superseded by the action dependency feature, but I still can't figure out if this does anything. An agent can cancel mandatory tasks just the same as optional ones. I dug through the documentation, knowledge base, and archives with no luck.

    Hi Eric,
The "Fast Roaming" is primarily for Wireless Voice Apps so probably not applicable here.
The fact that you have disabled Agressive Load Balancing is an excellent call here as it is used for areas with Multiple AP's in close proximity.
The "User Idle Timeout" is set at 5 minutes by default but can be changed (as indicated below)
There are two timers that control the users association information called Idle Timeout and Session Timeout. Both of these timers can be changed. These are the default timers:
    Idle Timeout - (300 seconds)
    Session Timeout - (1800 seconds)
    From this excellent doc;

Hope this helps! It sounds like you are on the right track here :)

  • SWS mode- what does it do?

In the Sound Settings of the Slate 8 Plus, there is an option to switch SWS mode On or Off under Ringtone & Notifications.  I can't find what SWS mode is in either the downloaded User Guide nor in the HP Support Page nor FAQs.  Nor can I get any Pop-Up to explain the term keeping my finger on it.  Anybody knows? Thanks
    This question was solved.

SWS option will automatically stops the alarm if you walk few steps. It is useful if you sleep with the gear, wake up and want the alarm to stop by just walking 5 to 10 steps.

  • Cartridge set to default. what does this mean and how do I rectify the problem?

Since installing two new cartridges I am getting this message.Cartridges set to default. Can't get past this problem. How do I solve it please?

    Hi @J19 ,
I read your post and see that you are getting the error message "Cartridges set to default", after installing two new cartridges. I will certainly do my best to help you.
Are you using Genuine HP Cartridges?
I would do a hard reset to see if that will resolve the issue.
Leave the printer on and unplug the power cable from the printer and wall outlet for 60 seconds.
Then reconnect the power cable to the printer and wall outlet rather than a surge protector.
This ensures the printer is receiving full power and may help this situation.
I believe this means that the cartridges are not fully aligned.  Please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. HP Deskjet 3050A (J611) and 3050 (J610) All-in-One Printer Series - 'Alignment Failed' Error Message... Disregard the title.
If there is anything else I can help you with, just let me know.
    Have a nice day!

  • Ipad air 2 there's no silent mode like the other iPads ?? the button that does it does not exist on the iPad air 2 what does replace it??

ipad air 2 there's no silent mode like the other iPads ?? the button that does it does not exist on the iPad air 2 what does replace it??

hi the older button could be set to either "force portrait mode" or "silent mode". now you can do both in the iOS control center (swipe from the bottom of the screen), so the need for a button isn't needed anymore.

  • HT4259 I have been trying for hours to extend my Extreme Gen 5 network with an Express Gen 2.  But no matter what I do or try, it doesn't work.  What does happen is my internet gets block somehow when the Express looks like it's set up and 'green' - no in

I have been trying for hours to extend my Extreme Gen 5 network with an Express Gen 2.  But no matter what I do or try, it doesn't work.  What does happen is my internet gets blocked somehow when the Express is online and looks like it's set up perfect and 'green' - but no internet connection for anything even though the Extreme is green and the modem is good.  Once I disconnect the Express, everything is good again.
I've tried LAN, WAN, though a switch, direct connect, Extreme set to Extend the network, the Express set to be an extension.  Most of the time I get an error trying to update the Express.  But when it seems to be set up perfect, the entire house can't get to the internet.  Just when it looks right, it is so wrong.
If anyone can give me exact steps (e.g., "...from the Base Station menu, select the Restore Default Setting option" vice "...just restore the defaults..."), I would greatly appreciate it.  I'm left to the conclusion that the Express is faulty.  I've been using Airport Utility 6.2 from Mountain Lion on one computer and Airport Utility 5.6.1 from Snow Leopard on another computer (the latter give more control while the former just want you to 'forget' the Express).

I finally got it working.  I was trying to set it up ethernet.  My biggest mistake was when the new Express came on, I did not select 'Continue' - I went straight to manual thinking that I would get the most setup options in manual mode.  So everything I initially tried always resulted in 'wireless'.  Even when I would update or restore default settings, the Express would not completely restart. Or sometimes I would get an error. So most of the time I had to unplug it.  So when it came back up, none of my changes were retained. But there were a lot of times when everything was green and appeared to be fine. But anytime the ethernet cable was plugged in, no more internet.
So here's the weird part.  When I finally tried 'continue' (vice manual), I would get 4 options.  One would be 'ethernet' extended.  So I would select it, it gave me green lights, all looked good, and still the same problem.  This is when I got frustrated.  I thought I had exhausted all possible combinations.
But somehow when trying continue again after another restore, I only got 3 options.  One was the same ethernet extended option (can't remember what the missing 4th one was).  And this time it worked - it gave me the big green circle with the checkmark saying it was successful.  I don't know what I did different, but I know now that it won't work if 4 options come up to choose from.  It will work if only 3 options come up.  And success if only verified by the big checkmark.  Had anyone anywhere said the checkmark declaring success is validation, then maybe I wouldn't have gone down so many rabbit holes thinking it should have been successful.
As for which Airport Utility I prefer, 6.2 looks nice, but it would just ignore the Express and would want me to 'forget' it and would not let me edit it.  Airport Utility 5.6.1 was the one that I ended up using the most and finally had success with.  It still strikes me as odd that there is no manually way to pick ethernet, it can only be choosen following a 'restore defaults', and only from the 3-option list (the 4-option list had the same ethernet choice, but it no worky).
Thanks for the response.  I really do appreciate it.
Aiport Extreme Gen5 - internet access and router
Airport Express Gen2 - connected via ethernet, extending my wireless
    - configured while connect directly to the Extreme, but now on a switch (16-port hub)
    Using Airport 5.6.1
    1) Restore Defaults from Base Station menu
    2) Following restart, Select Continue
    3) Of the 3 option presented, select 'ethernet.... extend network...'
      - if 4 options are present, may not work
    4) Wait for the green circle with the big white checkmark.
    5) Connected Express to the switch where a cable went to other end of house - works.
    Dead-zone went from 2mbps to 24mbps.
I probably spent 4 hours chasing my tail in anger.  The correct way took about 5 minutes total.
    Thanks again.

  • I am a forensic examiner with an iPod 5G in Recovery Mode. As a 'non Apple' person, what does 'restore' imply with reference to the 5G? Does it affect any data on teh iPod, like pics, and videos?

As stated in the title, I am a forensic examiner, although most of my work is on Windows devices. My problem is an iPod 5G with Touch Wheel that I received to exam, and I have not been able to get anything from conventional methods. But not really understanding enough about the Apple architecture and iPods, when I plug it into a computer, it appears to be in Recovery Mode, and calls for a Restore. The questions I have are:
    1) How does the iPod get into Recovery mode
    2) How to get it out of Recovery mode
    3) But more importantly, what does Restore do to the device? If there happen to be items of interest (pics, videos, etc), does the restore affect them?

    - You can place the iPod in recovery mode by:
    Recovery mode
or by using this program (there are others too)
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    - Many internal errors in the iPod resul in the iPod going automaticlly (default) into recovery mode.
    - Usual method is to restore the iPod via iTunes to get the iPod our of recovery mode.
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software
Sometime RecBoot will do it if the iPod was intentionally placed in recovery mode
    - Unless RecBoot or similar will get the iPod put of recovery mode the iPod will be erased. Restoring the iPod erases the iPod.
    - For more inbfo on recovery mode see:
