WCS AP Templates help. Vlan Override Issue

Hi all,
WCS ver 5.2.110.0
When I create a LWAP template, to apply a WLAN override to all my APs, the WLAN I'm looking for is not in the list. Previous WLANs are listed, that are no longer resident on the WLC4404. The current WLAN configured in the WLC does not show up in the list.
I've removed and re-added the WLC a few times to no avail.
Anyone with WCS experience ever see this issue?

One thing to consider is that is WLC 5.x versions, WLAN Override has been replaced with the "AP Groups" feature;
Creating Access Point Groups
After all access points have joined the controller, you can create up to 150 access point groups and assign up to 16 WLANs to each group. Each access point advertises only the enabled WLANs that belong to its access point group. The access point does not advertise disabled WLANs in its access point group or WLANs that belong to another group.

VLAN Override and Web Auth: How to overcome issues?

I have been investigating if we can deploy vlan override and assign a user vlan via RADIUS, post authentication on a WRD SSID. Having read around the discussions, I can see that there are others who have wanted similar, but have been told that it is not possible:
"Marucho, the particularity of how Web authentication works on the WLC is that it is carried over HTTP between Client and WLC. So the Wireless Client has to already have an IP address prior to starting the web authentication. Since the Wireless Client already has an IP address then you cannot override it anymore.
Unlike dot1x, which takes place over EAPOL and then when you have eap success, client moves to get an ip address from the sent by Radius VLAN."
However, we still have a problem that we would like to overcome and wonder if anyone has any experience or suggestions they could share?
We are a University with a large number of devices grabbing an IP address whilst only remaining associated and not actually going on to authenticate through the WRD. This creates a situation where we have a large number of IP addresses deployed unnecessarily and we would like to tackle this.
We are unable to use private IP for authenticated users (Policy decision) but could use them for associated users and so were hoping we might be able to deploy a private subnet on the WRD SSID prior to authentication and then use VLAN override to assign authenticated users onto the correct VLAN. In order to try and achieve this we were planning on using a very short DHCP lease on the private subnet, so that post-authentication the client device requests a public IP address almost instantly.
Is there any way of achieving this that someone could suggest or would we be knocking our ehads against a brick wall?

Just giving 2 ideas :
-How about using a WPA PSK on your webauth ssid ? Just give the PSK in the SSID name. This prevents non-intended connections (no automatic association because it's open ssid) and still allows anyone with an intention, to connect to it and you still have the webauth behind. This reduces number of ip addresses.
-How about modifying the webauth successful authentication page to give the credentails to access a private network (PSK or dot1x) where credentials would regularly change ?
Those are workarounds.

Cisco ISE 1.2.1.198 Guest Portal Vlan Override at Mobile Device (android,IOS) not working

Hi Guy,
In my ISE deployment, once the guest succcesful authenticated will be assign guest VLAN for internet access.
we are using guest portal to do the vlan override once user authenticated.
Window 7 Internet explorer (Active X), Chrome (Java Aplet) is working fine.
but Android,Apple IOS devices unable to release the DHCP and get new DHCP.
because from ISE and WLC we can see the Vlan have change, how mobile devices initiate dhcp release for Guest Portal
Kindly advice.

I don't have such documentation nor I could find any on Cisco's site. With that being said, it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. I just know that Active X is windows specific framework and Java is not supported on either iOS nor Android:

The good news is that Cisco appears to be steering away from Java so it is possible that in the future this will be supported.

Template Help in Dreamweaver CS5

Hi,
So I was having some initial trouble getting pages in my site to update after I made template changes, however I realized that if I did it manually (i.e. Templates > Update Current Page, the page would be updated with the current template information.
My issue now is this: The pages that have been updated based on the template are no longer linking to the stylesheet "styles.css". The stylesheet and the template are in the root folder and my html pages are in their own separate folders.
I double checked the linking on the html pages, and it shows that it is linking to "styles.css", which is why it won't link, however when I go into my template and change this to "../styles.css" it changes all of my subpages to "../../styles.css". When I remove the "../" on the template, the subpages go back to linking to only "styles.css" not "../styles.css"
Am I missing a setting or something? I feel as though if the template says "styles.css" the html subpages would say "../styles.css", expecially since when I add "../styles.css" to the template, it makes the subpages "../../styles.css".
I could REALLY use some help here, I can't figure out what I'm missing. Hopefully my explanation wasn't too confusing.

Corrupt card template HELP!!

Ok here is what is going on:
In my address book i have all 200 of my contacts etc. There is a problem now though.
My card template is corrupt.
The physical address is now gone from the template and I can't get it back. So I have numbers, email, messengers and all the other fields yet the address will not show up in the card. When I look on my ipod the addresses are there so i know they are in the data but not showing up.
I have gone into the address book preferences and here are the two things i noticed.
1. under the "template" I cannot add the address it is already greyed out like it is already being shown, however i know it is not.
2. Also under the "general" tab, i cannot select any sort of address format it is locked on something called item3 and it will not change I can't even get a pull down. the other sortby and fontsize pull downs work but not the address format.
I have already tried dumping the preferences file, and restoring all of the contacts from time machine but no go. Does anyone know where this template is located and if I can "reset" it?
Any help would be very much appreciated.

in the past i have had success in rebuilding the address book database when i had a problem with searching for example. i do not know if that would help with your issue, but that issue strikes me as a database issue too, so that is why i am bringing it up here.
here is what i do: first i quit address book, then for safety i go to the homefolder/library/application support/address book and i copy/back up that folder somewhere else, then i go back to that folder and locate the file addrssbook-v22.abcddb and trash/delete it. once that is done i launch ab again. you may want to try this and see if that helps your issue.

Cannot get all pages to update after revising template, HELP!

This problem is driving me crazy. I've gone through the 7 steps recommended elsewhere (looking for mistakes I might have made, such as renaming the template folder), and these issues are not my problem.
When I create a change on the template which needs to translate throughout the site (such as adding another tab to the spry menubar), the change does not translate to the site. I do get the dialogue asking me if DW should update all of the pages, but it these changes do not show up on the web unless I go through and upload each page one by one to the site. Surely there's got to be a better way.
HELP!

Would you consider addressing your comment about "nested templates" in greater detail? I'd like to know why people would use them, and why you would not? Thanks!
I can only assume why people use them - I'm guessing it's for one of the following reasons:
1. They just discovered that DW can do that, and because it's cool, they use them.
2. They had someone else advise them to use them, and don't have the experience to anticipate potential problems.
3. They have purchased a template/extension that uses them and never thought about ripping them out.
I do not recommend their use because they can behave in non-intuitive ways, particularly when using them with other template features, like Optional regions, or editable attributes. Having looked into nested templates deeply, I can honestly say that on balance, I do not see them adding any convenience to your life. In fact, I see that they add complexity. I'll be happy to pursue this notion further with you if you'd like.
For me, the reasons one MIGHT think about using nested templates (assuming that they have enough experience to think about the alternatives with some real-world background) would be:
1. They want to use various sections that are based around the site layout but that has section-specific differences
2. They want to do some exotic tricks with navigation that, at first blush, nested templates might offer an interesting leverage
I don't see that either of those needs would require anything other than some clever use of CSS. This is MUCH easier to accommodate than nested templates, especially considering the over-riding downside of templates from the get-go (the need to upload all changed local files).

The figures you mention only make sense on your intranet. Are you still using the same wireless router. The verizon one is somewhat limited as far as max wireless-n performace. For one thing it only has a 2.4 radio. I like many people who wanted wireless-n performance before they even added a wireless-n gigabit router, have my own handling my wireless-n network.

Flash Site Template Help With Text

So I downloaded a flash template to use for my website... all I need are some editing of the texts, pictures, and some of those links. Here is the template:

My problem is I'm completely NEW at flash. I used to use FrongPage 2003 for my webdesign but I wanna use this for my new website (since it looks a lot better!) How do I edit the text fields? I can only seem to move the bar along the timeline to watch the animation, and see all the layers and item properties that none have anything with the text in them. And also the images as well, if I need to do anything special with those (within template link above you'll see they flash white for a second) and the main logo has some animation there. I have all the fonts required but I don't know if I also have to make the logo with those special white flashy lines like a GIF animator or if that's just some special affect within the template itself.
Now due to legal notices specified by the site I can't share the template with you but I'll attempt to answer any and all questions i can to see if I can get this all figured out so I can begin adding my own content to the site. Thanks in advance.

Doesn't look like there's an xml file for the text. Reading the template help index, and its saying some text might have complex coding for special effects and that I'd have to edit by the Library or something, so I'll try using that reference for now. I appreciate the help and I may come back if this can't help me lol
EDIT: It says I'm missing the font file "tahoma" mapped to _sans ....?? I have tahoma... as well as the main title logo isn't appearing in the .fla file anymore even though I got the correct font. I'm confused >.<

Sorry to say it, but I think you can see from Bob's response that there's no way to solve this rapidly.
Did you take an image of your Mountain Lion install before upgrading to Yosemite? Roll back to that. If you're not in the habit of taking a snapshot of your system before performing operating system upgrades - get in that habit. If you are dependent on anything at all on hour computer, having a reliable backup method in place is essential. If you don't have a Time Capsule, or some other way to run Time Machine onto a disk that's not in your computer, go set that up yesterday.
If you can't just remove Yosemite and roll back to Mountain Lion for whatever reason, you can partition your drive so that you can install both Yosemite and Mountain Lion on the same drive, and then boot into Mountain Lion when you need to work in CS5. Or you can take your Mountain Lion disc (I assume you have one, no?) and then use it to create a virtual machine in something like VirtualBox to run Mountain Lion from inside Yosemite.

If you are going tob e upgrading to 10.7 you should be able to just upgrade, and then install future updates of Firefox with no problem.

Please try the steps below and let me know if it worked for you
Delete all the files from following folders:
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
[Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

I don't know if this will help but have you tried switching the audio output to 16-bit? On the AppleTV, click Settings, Audio & Video, Audio Output. The two choices are "auto" and "16-bit". Good luck!
