WCS Client Reporting

Hi All,
hoping this is the right sub-forum for this query!
WCS is missing entries from it's client details report.  on our firewall logs I had an IP I wanted to check for it's MAC address, I could see the log entry in our firewall and the time and date stamp along with the wireless IP Address.
I ran the Client Details report in WCS on the date and specified the times between 12:00 noon and 6:00pm and it failed to find the associated IP address in the log.
I know for certain that the IP was active at that point in time and it should appear in a our client details report, but it's not getting logged.
We are using version 7.0.172.0 of Cisco WCS if that makes any odds

You can use the WCS navigator. The Cisco WCS Navigator provides network administrators with easy, cost-effective access to information from multiple geographically diverse Cisco WCS management platforms. This innovative platform allows network managers to partition the unified wireless network at the management level.

  • WCS Client Reports not Consistent

I am trying to determine how many 802.11b clients I have on my network so I can deside whether to turn off the protocol.  When I run the Client Summary report I get 26 for Number of Users.  However, when I run the Client Count:Daily Stats I only get 14 802.11b clients.  I am including all controllers in each of the reports.  I would expect these two reports to report the same numbers.

What version of WCS are you running?
What version of WLC code and controller do you have?
The WCS reads the number every 15 minutes and calculates the difference by comparing it to the prior polling period.

  • Detailed client Report in WCS

    Hi,
what exactly mean the fields of the traps  that appear in the Detailed Client report of the WCS?
    07/08/10 08:09,"00:04:23:71:67:bf",,"Campus> Ome > CN.OM.P03","XSFK2MP345","10.120.205.25",07/08/10 08:09,"0 secs","0.0.0.0",0,-128,"802.11b","N/A",0,0,0,0,"No","Associated","Client '00:04:23:71:67:bf' is associated with AP '00:23:eb:2d:8a:e0', interface '0'."
which means many  associations of  "0Sec" with no IP assigned?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Are you still facing this issue?
    thanks,

  • WCS: Bug with unique client report?

I'm running WCS 7.0.172.0 and have run into the situation where a Unique Client Report, when run for the last day, shows lots of clients (properly).  When you select a specific date range, you get no records, regardless of the date range (you can even select the last 24 hours with the drop-downs).  Is this a bug?

I've gone back and forth with TAC on this, and it's been explained to me that the function of the report has changed recently and the description for what it does is no longer valid.  I STILL think there is a bug in this, however, as it appears whenever I run this report, it only shows me the unique clients RIGHT NOW, even if I pick "last day" which I'm told is really the only valid criterion... something is definitely broken here.

  • WCS Busiest Client Report Problem

We are using Wism 4.0.155.5 and WCS 4.0.81.0. Everytime I run "busiest client report" on WCS, I get some clients with throughput more than 70Mbps and utilization more than 600%!!! It is very weird. Anyone see this as well? Thanks.

    zhenningx:
I see it too. It definitely appears to be a bug, but I will do some checking. Mine show upwards of 2000% and most of my top 25 show an almost identical tx/tx amount of 4gb.
If I make any headway with TAC, I'll let you know.

AP-EDHB-018 have 160 assoicated client count reported.  Really mean there were 160 wireless client assoicated at a moment or there were a totally 160 connected at that day?
    Any idea?
    Dick

    Hi Kayle,
Thanks for the response.  I think you are talking about this in the above.
Reports > Report Launch Pad > Client > Client Count > Client Count Report Details
    then
AP by Floor Area  and select "All Campus", "All Building", "All Floor"
By doing this I get 700+ APs daily client count in graphical (pdf) view and need to go through manually each graph to identify the top 50, top 100 in a given day.
Is it possible to only filter the top 50, 100 APs ?
I would like see my daily report gives something similar to the below
    AP Name    Max Client Count
    AP01               96
    AP02               83
    AP50               20
Would it possible to get something like this from WCS reports ?
    Thanks
    Rasika

  • WCS Unique Client report problem

If I run a "Unique Client" report in WCS (based on 4 controllers) using the range "last 1 day", I get plenty of data.  But if I choose a specific range of time, even within the last 24 hours, I don't get any data.  Seems like a bug.  Anyone else experience this issue?
    It's WCS 7.0.172

Seems you are facing below bug and needs a patch uniqueclients.xml which can be provided by TAC.CSCtq64813
Apply the workaround which done by the following steps:  1. Stop WCS 2. cd to /webnms/classes/com/cisco/server/reports/conf 3. Backup UniqueClients.xml 4. Copy the attached file to UniqueClients.xml (batch file attached in the case) 5. Restart the server

  • WCS:Client association reports

    Hi,
    In the WCS Menu:
    reports->client->client association
when a client association occurs, the timestamp is referred to the time at which the WLC receives the request of association or the ACK association?
    ex:
    Association Time||Client MAC||Map Location||AP Name...
    11:13 AM||00:01:4a:e5:e0:9b||Campus Nord || A6 ...
is possible to have a timestamp with milliseconds precision?
    Thanks.

Sorry, i missed out to mention - WCS V4.1 is used for monitoring the WLAN.

  • WCS Utilization Reports

Does anyone know what commands are run at the controller and/or AP level when WCS runs reports for utilization?  I'm trying to run those reports manually on a single AP.  I'd ultimately like to know how I can get similar information by using an SNMP query.
    Regards,
    Scott

We are running 6.0.182.0 on a number of WiSMs and have enabled CAC (Load-based) and Traffic Stream Metrics on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands.  We are still unable to view any TSM statistics either from the WLCs or through WCS.  The exact same configuration works fine on a 4402 running 7.0.98.0.  Is there any issue with Traffic Stream Metric collection and 6.0.182.0.  The client does not want to upgrade past 6.0.182.0 on their WiSMs as 6.0.196.0 caused significant issues with port channels on the 6K.  Eventually, we will move to 7.0.something, but will have to do some testing first.  If you can shed any light on why TSM collection does not seem to work on 6.0.182.0 code, I would appreciate it.

  • Different display on client report builder and web reports

Hi all, I have build a report in report 6i version Report Builder 6.0.8.13.1.And I set the page to 8.5*11 ,and it runs well in the client ,but when I put it on the UNIX SERVER,and run it from web URL,It displayed different from the client report builder. The web report is "smaller" than the client report ,but the font size is as same as the client .
My HPUX is 11x,and display the Chinese report .
Any body know why ?give me some advice ,thank u very much.

    Hi
If you had built the report definition on Windows and then moved this to Unix server, you may find different fonts in use. This is becuase your Unix setup does not have the same fonts install. At design time, You need to use fonts which are available on Unix also. The same fonts shaould also be installed for printer in Unix i.e. the AFM/PFM font files should be kept under $ORACLE_HOME/guicommonX/tkXX/admin/AFM or PFM directory. This would give you the same output and would lessen the porting affect.
    Thanks

  • GroupWise client reports that there is no Default Mail Clien

Installation of GroupWise client reports that there is no default mail client. On clicking OK the next error: "The 'MAPI Session Handle' of the Novell GroupWise 'Object Request Broker' could not be accessed. The address book cannot run.
In our company we use GroupWise 7 on a mix of Windows XP Pro and A few Windows 7 Pro machines. On all machines where the GroupWise 7 client with hot patch 4 (HP4) was installed everything works fine along with other installed applications with a specific mention of MS Office 2003 or even MS Office 2010.
This morning (August 9, 2011) a new Windows 7 machine was deployed to a new Database Administrator. It was this machine that had these errors. The machine was deployed from a disk image.
The problem was baffling because we never experienced this problem on the other Windows 7 machines and un-installing and re-installing GroupWise even with Administrator privileges did not solve the problem.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, the bottom line is this: Don't trust an installation made by someone else even if they are Database Administrators! (Our IT dept consists of an IT Operations section and a Developers Section).
The installation of Microsoft Office by the IT Operations crew never includes the Microsoft office OutLook client. This installation had it included and that was what was causing the whole problem.
The Solution: Simply use the Microsoft Office installation to remove the Microsoft Office Outlook client and the problem went away immediately. We did not have to remove and re-install GroupWise after that was done.
    Hope this helps someone.

  • Client reports "fuzzy" / "broken up" appearance of type??!

I've been doing websites for some time now, and this is a new one for me. My client is reporting that the text in the sitewide header and footer, as well as any/all text that's created in image files appears "fuzzy" or "broken up" to him on some monitors. He reports this effect is happening on a 17" monitor with 1280 x 1024 resolution. I have the same size monitor and same resolution of the display, and I cannot see any problems viewing the site on IE or on Firefox. I've viewed the site from my work and home computers (and the home computer is set to an even LOWER resolution), and I'm apparently not seeing the effect he's seeing. All appears well to me.
The image files are generated using Adobe ImageReady using "smooth" or "sharp" settings for the text, and all are JPEGs generated at maximum quality, at standard web resolution of 72ppi. Settings: Quality 100, Blur: 0, and with checkboxes Optimized, Progressive, ICC Profile, and Preserve EXIF Metadata all turned OFF.
This is a complete headscratcher for me. I've of course explained to my client that text generated in image files will look somewhat "softer" than will body copy from text in the HTML of the pages, but he's telling me the text in the image files on the pages look just fine on some of his computer monitors, and just fine if he prints them out, but "fuzzy" and "broken up" on others, specifically the 17" at 1280 x 1024.
    See site-in-progress is posted at
    http://www.brn-management.com/janmiele/Mercer03/index.htm
I've never had anyone mention this before. What's going on here??
    Any advice greatly appreciated!
    ---Jan

Yah. Hard to induce the client to pull out the manual for his monitor if he's in another town and just doesn't want to.
Harder still to convince him that just because this is happening to him, doesn't mean it's *not* happening to everyone else "out there" who might visit his website. Again I have asked him to look at other sites using the "problem" computer/browser combination to see if he's seeing the same effect on other sites, or if it's just this one site, and still no answer to that question.
This is what the client reports:
"Heres what I have found. Im running version 7.0.5730.13 Internet Explorer and while Im in the browser I have a zoom button down in the bottom right hand corner that defaults to 100%. If I select this and change the percentage to anything other than 100%, (i.e. 99% or 101% or 400%) the font look great. Only at 100% is the quality less than perfect."
So, at my home machine, which is running that version of the IE browser, I tried various combinations of the "Zoom" setting (including the ones he lists) as well as other screen resolution settings and I don't see anything eggregiously awry. Of course, Zooming a page to 400% *will* naturally cause *some* "fuzziness"
    :-O
but other than that I'm not seeing anything that's not what I'd expect.
Unless I personally go to my client's office and try to see what else might be awry (aspect ratio? other settings?), and so long as he hasn't sent either me or the hosting service vendor a screenshot of what it is he's seeing that's wrong (I emailed him step by step instructions for how to get one and asked that he email it to both me and the hosting service), I cannot see the problem, nor can my tech-cohorts from the hosting service see it, much less fix it. I'm not a hardware person, but I'm beginning to wonder if I should send someone from Geek Officecalls over to his place of business to look into this.

Please forgive me, I'm a SCCM newbie. I'm having an issue with my Thin Clients reporting back to SCCM since I upgraded to 2012 R2 CU3.

If anybody has any tips, I would be more than appreciative.

  • "Busiest Clients" report template on Cisco Prime & Aironet 1242AG

Yesterday I was trying to schedule a "Busiest Clients" report on our Cisco Prime physical appliance (PRIME-NCS-APL-K9, v2.1.0.0.87).
My goal was to monitor the busiest clients on a couple of old Aironet access-points. These APs have been installed in a branch office of our university that rely on 4 Mb/s SHDSL WAN connectivity and, as you might imagine, some saturation occurs when the classrooms are crowded.
Unfortunately, all the reports were empty ... there was only a "No data matches the specified criteria for the report” warning inside.
The Client Statistics task (Administration>Background Tasks) was enabled and I was able to run this report selecting a different floor area ... after a few tries I've discovered that this error occurs only when the old Aironet 1242AG APs are involved. If I select a floor area populated with the newer 1142 and 2602 models, the report template works as intended.
So, is there a way to fill a "Busiest Clients" report with data fetched from our old Aironet 1242AG APs?
Our WLC is a Cisco Wireless Services Module 2 Controller for Cisco Catalyst 6500 (WS-SVC-WISM2-K9).
(Sorry ... my English is a bit rusty)

    Hi,
Kindly try to restart the Dameon manager with the command line of the server
    1> net stop crmdmgtd
and then start the daemon manager --> net start crmdmgtd (wait for atleast 20-25 minutes before login back to LMS and also see if any file do exist at location CSCOps\Objects\dmgtd\ready folder).
Get the output of pdshow after waiting for 20 minutes and stdout.log and stderr.log from CSCOpx\MDC\tomcat\logs.
    Many Thanks,

Thanks for your help so far.
I did already install and reinstall the client.
I get this error for some, also newly created users and for others on the same machine it works!
I think it is related to the trace file row:
<JCO_INFO>JCO-library-version: 1.1.13; Creation time: UNDEFINED DATE UNDEFINED TIME</JCO_INFO>
This obviously leads to the conclusion that the data is outdated for the client.
The client and server are in the same timzone and also configured that way.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks
    Alexander
