WCS error in alarm summary

Hi all.
I've installed WCS last version.
I've connected my controller to it.
WCS connected to Controller and imported configurations.
Now I've renamed some APs, and into Alarm Summary these AP appear like disconnected from controller (but with old name).
With new name they appear properly in monitor-->AP and configure-->AP.
I can't found these ap with old names anywhere.
I've tried to remove controller from WCS and reinsert it, but problem remains.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.
Thanks
Daniele

  • WCS IDS False Alarms - NetStumbler Generic Attack

    We have a particular installation where we are seeing four (4) types of IDS errors constantly reappearing:
    "IDS Signature attack detected. Signature Type: Standard"
    "Disassoc flood, Description: Disassociation flood
    "AP impersonation"
    "NetStumbler Generic Attack"
    In the first three alarms, Cisco has acknowledged that there are known issues with false IDS alarms that are supposed to be fixed in an upcoming "BE-MR2" in mid-December, and a new IDS signature in January.
    Is anyone else experiencing the NetStumbler Generic IDS alarm? We see them on a regular basis.
    If so, please reply - as I would like to forward this on to TAC to make sure they get this fixed in the next release.
    We are using WLC-4.x and WCS 4.x with LAP-1131AG access points.
    - John

    The Disassociation attack is a known bug acknowledged by Cisco TAC. (That is not a guarantee that it is a false alarm - that is what has been especially frustrating in troubleshooting these).
    Specifically, though, I am trying to confirm that others are experiencing the NetStumbler attack as we suspect this is another false alarm since it came from the MAC address of a trusted laptop that was confirmed to not be running NetStumbler - and, yes, I realize that the MAC address can be spoofed, but with the high number of false positives on the other types of alarms mentioned earlier, it would seem more likely that the WLC's IDS subsystem needs tweaking.
    I would really like to get this fixed within the next release, and am hoping that additional confirmation may help get Cisco to resolve it more quickly.

  • ERROR while adding summary field in group footer

    Hi all,
    i am using CR Server XI R2
    i am trying to a subtotal in a group header using the code below
    fieldobjCls = new CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.FieldObjectClass();
                fieldobjCls.Kind = CrystalDecisions.ReportAppServer.ReportDefModel.CrReportObjectKindEnum.crReportObjectKindField;
                fieldobjCls.FieldValueType = CrFieldValueTypeEnum.crFieldValueTypeInt32sField;
                       fieldobjCls.Name = "Count";
                fieldobjCls.DataSource = "Count({CSP_PROCESS_REPORT.userid})";
                      fieldobjCls.Left = 1000;
                fieldobjCls.Top = 700;
                fieldobjCls.Width = 1000;
                fieldobjCls.Height = 300;
                boSection = rcDoc.ReportDefinition.get_GroupHeaderArea(0).Sections[0];
                rcDoc.ReportDefController.ReportObjectController.Add(fieldobjCls, boSection, -1);
    as a result i am getting the error as
    Cannot find the section in the group area pair of the summary field.
    how to solve

    Try adding the summary field in the Report Designer first, then do the same steps in code. If it doesn't work in the deisgner it won't work in code.

  • WCS Error

    Hai,
    We have deployed 5508 WLC along with 3502 AP's, from wcs plus i am receiving the following error. Can anyone help me out what to do in this situation.
    IDS 'Deauth flood' Signature attack detected on AP <AP NAME >' protocol '802.11b/g' on Controller < IP ADDRESS>. The Signature description is 'Deauthentication flood', with precedence '9'. The attacker's mac address is <MAC ADDRESS >, channel number is '6', and the number of detections is '300'.
    Regards,
    Muhammad Noman

    Have you thought about the following:
    - Check with TAC that your version of Controller software does not have a bug know to cause this, some do.
    - Once a bug is ruled out, treat this like a genuine attack, and use rssi to detect the rogue AP sending these deauth messages. This shouldn't be too hard if you can see this on multiple APs.

  • WCS Rogue AP Alarms

    Over the weekend, I moved a bunch of rogue APs into the "Unclassified Rogue AP" group that I felt were not interfering with my network because they were being detected at -80 and above. When I arrived today, I was surprised to find all of those alarms back in "Malicious Rogue AP" alarms. When the rogues aren't detected for a short amount of time, they become "Removed" state and I suspect what's happening is that they lose their grouping when they go undetected and when they are detected again, they are re-grouped into "Malicious." Is anyone else suffering from this? Is there a workaround, or even, a better way to filter out distant rogue APs?

    By the way, I'm running WCS version 6.0.181.0.

  • WCS Error when clicking on Access List

    When I log into the WCS and under Security open up Access List and then click on one of the Access List to edit it I get the error message Attached.  And this is also causing an Audit mismatch too.  Any ideas?

    Is your WCS version equal to or higher than the wlc? Make sure all the services are running fine, but I get errors when te command fails due to the fact that something else has to be disabled or removed first.

  • WCS error COMMON-1 after login completed

    Hi Expert,
    I found WCS Sytem Error Page was displayed after login completed for while. How can i fix about this? Thanks
    WCS System Error Page
    Error(s): You must correct following error(s) before proceeding: Error:COMMON-1: Some unexpected internal error has occured. If the problem presist please report to the Tech Support. Error:Detail: Cannot open connection

    Just a heads up to anyone else that might do this... it took about 5 to 10 minutes for the 'StopWCS' process to complete.
    We run Version 7.0.172.0 on a Windows Server 2003 VM.
    We initially tried restarting the service from Windows Services (services.msc) - made no difference - had to run the stopWCS and startWCS programs in the installation folder.
    NOTE: after launching the exe from the program files\WCSxxx\bin\ folder - it took a few moments and a Java console window appeared. It then spewed out the following over the space of 5 to 10 minutes...
    "Stopping Health Monitor...
    Waiting for shutdown to complete.
    Health Monitor successfully shutdown.
    Stopping WCS server
    WCS server successfully shutdown.
    Waiting for shutdown to complete.
    Shutting down database server ...
    Database server successfully shutdown.
    Apache server is stopped.
    WCS successfully shutdown."
    The startup process was much quicker... taking no more than 5 minutes if that.
    Again, after launching the exe from windows explorer - it took a little while for the java window to appear - it then quite quickly (compared with shutdown) produced the following output.
    "Starting WCS
    This may take a few minutes...
    Starting Apache...
    Starting Apache server ...
    Apache server is running.
    WCS started successfully."
    And yeah - it resolved the issue for us too - many thanks.

  • WCS disc space alarm

    Hi All,
    I'm running WCS 7.0 on a WLSE appliance. Lately WCS has produced the following alarm:
    WCS '150.3.101.7' does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for disk  space. Available: '29'GB. Minimum requirement: '30'GB.
    Doesn't sound critical but I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I have old WCS versions (3, 4, 5 and 6) so could delete those but I'm wary in case I take out the data too.
    Many Thanks,
    Scott

    It really is informational.  The old wlse had a 30 gb hard drive and the requirement in 7.0 is minimum of  50 gb on a low end server.  You will receive this message almost immediately when running 7.x on a converted wlse.  If you are running 7.0 and have multiple installation directories for old versions you could safely delete the old ones.  I would always recommend a backup but with a 30 gb drive if you have a big db that could be problematic.

  • Error acknowledging alarms 3.6.1

    Hi everybody
    I regularly (but not everytime) have the problem that I can't acknowledge an alarm in 3.6.1. SMC shows the alarm notification and I can also display the alarm in the hosts properties window . Howevery, when clicking the "Acknowledge Button" I just get this error window:
    Exception occured while acknowledging alarms.
    Set timeout for null socket
    Any ideas?
    Greetings
    Dominik

    I dont think I've ran into that exact error message before, but this could be some type of communication issue. BTW..I'm defintately not an expert and am just shooting in the dark here. If it is a communication problem there are many factors here that could come into play. Are you using the java console?..from where are you trying to ack them?..on the server the agent is running on themselves or connecting remotely?.. can you do an smnpwalk from the server to the agent and vice versa when this occurs? Have you been through all the logs on the agent/master server?..Does this always happen on the same agents?...

  • Errors while Creating Summary

    While creating Summary on some of the folders based on custom views using ASM or mannually, I am getting this fine grain access policy error.
    ORA-30372: fine grain access policy conflicts with materialized view
    While creating Summary using query statistics, I am getting this following error.
    ORA-30353: expression not supported for query rewrite
    We are using Discoverer 10g. We have an APPS mode EUL and I am doing this by logging into Discoverer Admin as EUL owner, which is EUL_US. This user has all the previlages specified in Discoverer Admin Doc.
    ORA-30372, I could figure out is the problem with tables HZ_ORGANIZATION_PROFILES and HZ_PERSON_PROFILES which I used in the view for the folder I need to summarize.
    Tried creating materialized views on these folders seperately in SQL plus, but have the same error.
    Can Somebody help me to get through this?

    Hi
    I am not saying you cannot use summaries but that you have to be aware of the underlying security. Most of the time you will need to use an external summary table not one that has been created for you by Discoverer.
    The following snippet, which will help, is taken from the Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer Administration Guide, found here: http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B13916_04/orapps_supp.htm#sthref1165
    As the Discoverer manager of an Oracle Applications mode EUL you must be aware of the following:
    1. Some Oracle Applications database views contain row level security and return differing result sets depending upon the currently active responsibility. This means that materialized views (summary tables in Oracle Standard Edition databases) will contain different data depending on the responsibility of the user refreshing the external summary folder.
    2. A summary folder based on an Oracle Applications secure view or Oracle Applications business view must be registered in Discoverer as an external summary folder (for more information, see Chapter 14, "How to create summary folders based on external summary tables").
    3. Where an external summary folder is mapped against a table or view with Oracle Applications row level security, it is your responsibility as Discoverer manager to make sure the external table or view provides secure access. If you are not sure, ask your database administrator.
    4. If a managed summary folder is found that satisfies a query (based on data with Oracle Applications row level security), Discoverer informs the end user that no rows satisfy the query criteria. Discoverer does this to ensure that end users do not see data they should not have access to.
    5. If a managed summary folder is found that satisfies a query (based on data without Oracle Applications row level security), Discoverer returns the rows unaffected. Discoverer does this because the data can be safely accessed by all end users.
    6. Some Oracle Applications views with row-level security support "public" rows (particularly Human Resources).
    I hope this helps
    Best wishes

  • WCS Error when adding WLC

    We have successfully been managing all our WLC's via WCS. Last week one of the 6500 WiSM Controllers stopped responding to config refreshes from the WCS. When re-freshing the WCS config from the controller got the error message - failed (see logs). Removed controller from WCS and re-added - now get different error - see attachment.
    WCS version is 4.2.97
    WLC version is 4.2.112
    Doco says they are compatible.
    WCS is successfully managing other WLC's on the same code.
    Can any one help?

    What I would do next is to go to the WLC that is having the issue. Delete all the community strings and recreate it. Make sure that you allow the network that the WLC is on. Also, you should change your RW from private..... it's like the first and default snmp RW string that tools use. Along with public as the RO.

  • WCS not Emailing Alarms

    Hi everyone,
    I have been using WCS to monitor the wireless environement and to email me when a failure occurs. I noticed that the emails have stopped being sent out for any alarm. The mail relay is still working correctly and test emails work fine. Has anyone else experienced this before?
    Thank you,
    Chris

    Hi,
    Never got the issue. But you can check the email account on the server.
    You can also try remove config from WCS and do it again.
    Was there any config the network lately that could cause this issue?
    What is your version?

  • How to display my alarm summary with using listbox?

    i am using fieldpoint and labview to log and monitor the temperatures of my system.
    and i want to save and display the time, date and value of the alarm signal, can anyone give me advice?
    in fact i don't know how to show more than one data in sting.

    Are you using the Datalogging and Supervsory Control (DSC) module with LabVIEW? This module makes it really trivial to configure and display Alarms.
    For more info' on DSC, please take a look at this:
