WCS problem roaming H-reap

Hello
I have a problem with my wcs and my controller, I have ap H-Reap mode with cisco 7921 connected to it. My problem is roaming takes 3-4 seconds to switch to another antenna but not all the time.
Here is my config: 5500 WCL 7.0.116.0 / 7.0.172.0 WCS / AP 1242 H-mode Reap / Phone 7921 /
I broadcast the SSID WVOICE on other ap Cisco 3500 mode LOCAL and there is no problem
This is the log file
Tanks your help
Enzo

i've done a bit more testing and the results have me really scratching my head.  If I switch the vlan assignment
company -> 1
companypriv 91
then both work.  but my guest wlan is now getting an internal IP and my priv wlan is now getting a public IP.
If I set them
company -> 91
companypriv -> 91
only companypriv gets a public IP, company doesn't at all
If i set them
company -> 1
companypriv -> 1
both wlans work and get internal ip addresses.
so it seems to be that the company wlan will only work with vlan 1.  That does happen to be the native vlan for hte AP to work with capwap too but that shouldn't matter

  • WCS - Laptops roaming and giving pop-up

    All,
I have Aggressive Roam setup in our WCS network with 3 4402 controllers, and 1131 APs. When clients move from one AP to another windows gives them the little notification pop-up which kicks the person out of the program currently running. Is there anyway to work around this issue?

Hi, we have a similar setup here, but don't have this issue at all.
Are your controller in the same "mobility-group"?
    That might be an issue.

  • Airport Extreme network performance problems - roaming network help!!

Hi! I have the following setup: ADSL2 Router (about 18Mbps down and 1.5Mbps up - tested by connecting laptop directly to modem), connected to Time capsule set up to "create network" in "bridge mode" 802.11n 2.4GHz. My desktop is connected directly to the Time Capsule - download speed is OK, upload speed is a mere fraction of what it is supposed to be, sometimes a mere 50Kbps. In the next room (about 5 meters and 2 walls away) speed on the wireless network drops to about a tenth of wha I get at the modem and I can not reliably use my apple TV in that same room as the bandwidth does not seem to cut it. I have an extra Airport Extreme base station but I can not seem to set it up to make the situation any better. If I set it up wireless to "extend the network" the speeds just drop further. If I try to set it up as a roaming network linking it directly to the time capsule via an ethernet cable as per the instructions from Apple, I would need to set the Time Capsule to be "distributing a public IP address", however whenever I try do this I just get a NAT error message saying I should switch to bridge mode (I have tried to change the subnet IP range, etc without any luck). If I switch to bridge mode and connect the airport extreme (also in bridge mode) I just get a network that is frozen . . . I am tearing my hair out : (( Is there a way to connect both the Time Capsule and the Airport Extreme to the modem/router to cast the same wifi network?? Or can I connect them to each other in bridge mode somehow?? Any suggestions will be much appreciated! Thanks

It would be a good idea to "hard reset" the "remote" AirPort Extreme (AEBS) to clear out any old and possibly conflicting settings. Hold in the reset button for 10-12 seconds. You'll see the amber light begin to blink more quickly during this process, just be sure to hold for the full 10-12 seconds and then release the reset button.
Check that the ethernet connection is from one of the LAN <-> ports on your "main" AEBS to the WAN (circle of dots icon) on the "remote" AEBS.
Open AirPort Utility and click Manual Setup
Click the Base Station tab located below the row of icons to assign a name for this AEBS, device password and adjust Time Zone settings
    Click the Wireless tab
Wireless Mode = Create a wireless network
Wireless Network Name = Exact same name as your "main" AEBS wireless network
No check mark needed next to "Allow this network to be extended"
    Radio Mode = Automatic
    Radio Channel = Automatic
Wireless Security = Exact same setting as your "main" AEBS. Should be WPA2 Personal
Wireless Password = Same password as your "main" AEBS
    Confirm Password
    Click the Internet icon
    Connect Using = Ethernet
Connection Sharing = Off (Bridge Mode)
Click Update to save settings and let the AEBS restart
Then, power down the entire network...all devices...order is not important
Start the modem first and let it run a moment
Start the next device attached to the modem the same way
Keep starting devices one at a time until the network is back up
You should be good to go.

  • WLC 5508 H-REAP config problem

    Hello,
    I have a problem with H-REAP configuration.
I have a 5508 controller in HQ and a lot of 1242 lap in remote sites.
I have only one SSID (used only in remote sites) and only default vlan 1 in all sites.(a big subnet for every site).
I created only one WLAN on WLC, map it to the management interface (cause there is no need for a dynamic interface cause i will not use SSID locally, i want clients to receive an ip address from the subnet they are trying to connect to), I enabled "H-REAP switching local" from Advanced tab and also from Wireless Tab -> AP->Details-> enable vlan mapping with native vlan 1.
The problem is the AP are registered with the controller, i have L3 connectivity btw controller and AP and also clients cant see any SSID when trying to connect to AP.
The DHCP server is in HQ.
The port where APs are plugged in are trunk.
    Am I missing smth?
Any help will be really appreciated.
    Best regards,

The problem that we ran into was having the WLAN ID above 8 apparently the 1131, 1242, 1252 cant use WLAN IDs above 8 when utilizing HREAP.  Try pulling the WLAN ID down to 8 or below and see if that fixes things.
    Local Switching:
A WLAN on H-REAP is said to operate in local switching mode if the data traffic of that WLAN terminates locally at the wired interface of the LAP itself, without getting tunneled to the WLC.
Note: Only WLANs 1 through 8 can be configured for H-REAP Local Switching because only these WLANs can be applied to the 1130, 1240 and 1250 Series APs that support H-REAP functionality.

Your WCS should have a higher (or not equal) version to your WLC.
I wouldn't even consider troubleshooting WCS problems if your WCS is running 5.X because WCS/WLC firmwares 5.X are very, very buggy.

  • So many problems and Kit Kat 4.4.2 is to blame!

Since the update to Kit Kat 4.4.2 my LG G2, along with so many other Android users, has been having problems. My biggest complaint is "Unfortunately, Messaging has stopped". The stock app won't even open unless I make Hangouts my default. I've deleted all threads, cleared cache, disabled/ tried Hangouts, and still no luck. I hate Hangouts and really want my stock app working again!
Also my battery over heats often (charging or while using) plus it drains fast, alarm randomly will not go off, screen freezes from time to time, keyboard will hang up or double my text, and I will lose 4G LTE without even moving the phone.
As for troubleshooting I have a background in tech support for phones. Here's what I have done and still no luck:
    1. Restarted phone.
    2. Disabled all stock apps I am not using plus cleared data/cache.
    3. Uninstalled all downloaded apps from Play Store.
    4. Restarted phone again.
    5. Made Hangouts default SMS.
    6. Data stays off unless I need it.
    7. Closed all running apps from Task Manager.
    8. Still no luck!
    9. Dimmed brightness to 40%.
    10. Turned off Location.
    11. Activated Battery Saver.
    14. Backed up everything.
    15. Factory Restore with out using Google.
    12. Restarted phone.
    13. Still no luck!
    16. Checked for System Updates on Verizon and LG websites.
    Still no luck!
No one wants to take the blame for this HUGE problem that is reaping havoc on ALL Android users. I didn't buy a $600 phone less than a year ago just to use it as a paper weight! WE need a fix or an update ASAP!!!!!!

The place to call is LG who updated your device with the Google Inc. Operating System.
    Verizon is not the blame.
    Good Luck

  • Anchor mobility configuration getting lost in wlc 5508 ios code 7.4.100.0

It is observed that in WLC 5508 , ios 7.4.100.0 ,  mobility anchor configuration on wlan  is getting lost .  we configure anchor ip address on  guest wlan > mobility anchor >  Switch IP Address (Anchor).
We have configured the template on NCS 2.0 to push the anchor mobility ip address on all WLC
Has anyone oberved this behavoiur. We have more than 100 WLC  , and  everyweek  mobility anchor configuration is lost on some WLC having code  7.4.100.0.

I am having this exact same problem.  I am running 7.3 on 5508 WLC.   My remote site LAP's are using Flex (HREAP).  The initial access point that my laptop associates to connects with no problem, as soon as I wander out of range of the initial LAP and into the area of another access point, I lose data connectivity.   The was validated like the original post as I start a constant ping on the LAN and watch as the ping latency increases and then ping replies stop.  The only way to correct the problem is resetting of the wireless adapter on the laptop.  Side note my DroidX has no problem wandering from AP to AP.
    Laptop: Windows 7 32bit
I then returned to my home site and test where I have a secondary controller and the LAP's are configured for local mode, no problems roaming from access point to access point.   Validated with constant ping test.  The pings drop for a second and re-
    continues as the laptop reconnects.

  • Want to add second wireless router to network

I have a Actiontec MI424WR and would like to add a second wireless router, a Linksys Cisco E2000 which has N capabilities. What is the best way to add this second router so that they both work as wireless routers? Thank you for your help.

If I'm not mistaken, they can leave the SSID on both access points to be the same. You just don't want them to run on the same channel. The devices with either setup see an Access Point by it's MAC Address. It should have no problem roaming onto another Access point if one starts to get too weak for the device's liking. Even with separate SSIDs, that will still happen.
What the above poster means by setting up the Linksys as an Access Point is the following:
1: Disable DHCP on the Linksys
2: Disable the Firewall, UPnP support in the Linksys
3: Configure BOTH the ActionTec and Linksys to operate on WPA2 Security (The Linksys E2000 is a Wireless N router. Wireless N requires WPA2 to work to it's potential).
4: Set both the ActionTec and Linksys to separate channels, either 1, 6, or 11. It's best to keep them off each other's ranges due to the distance between the two APs. The Linksys should only be set to use 20Mhz wide channels for Wireless N. DO NOT OPERATE IT ON AUTO/40MHZ!
5: Connect the Linksys to the ActionTec by plugging the Linksys into the network using one of the LAN Ports. Do not use the Internet port on the Linksys!
Just keep in mind, if you do set up the Linksys to run on the same SSID as the ActionTec, the security settings (Key, Encryption type, MAC filtering) must be identical. If you go down the separate SSID route as mentioned above, you're free to keep the security settings separate. Just keep in mind my pointer with WPA2, though.

  • Folder Re-Direction And Network Interruptions During Folder Re-direction

    Good morning,
If a network interruption occurs (network connection is lost) when folders and files are being re-directed to a network share, will data be lost?
For example, folder re-direction has been configured for multiple users (30) on their workstations, and the folders begin to re-direct to the specified network share. About 10 or however minutes into the re-direction process the network goes down. Will the
files and folders that were being re-directed to the network share be lost forever?
Please explain how network interruptions affect folder re-direction? Will there be any data loss? How does this work?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi AquilaXXIII,
User settings and user files are typically stored in the local user profile, under the Users folder. The files in local user profiles can be accessed only from the current computer, which makes it difficult for users who use more than one computer to work
with their data and synchronize settings between multiple computers. Two technologies exist to address this problem: Roaming Profiles and Folder Redirection. Both technologies have their advantages, and they can be used separately or together to create a seamless
user experience from one computer to another. They also provide additional options for administrators managing user data.
Folder Redirection lets administrators redirect the path of a folder to a new location. The location can be a folder on the local computer or a directory on a network file share. Users can work with documents on a server as if the documents were based on
    a local drive.
The ability to redirect more folders in the user profile folders than in earlier Windows operating systems. This includes the
Contacts, Downloads, Desktop, Favorites, Documents, Links, Music, Saved Games, Searches, Pictures, and Videos folders.
Data that is stored in a network folder can be backed up as part of routine system administration.
If you use Roaming User Profiles, you can use Folder Redirection to reduce the total size of your Roaming Profile and make the user logon and logoff process more efficient for the end-user.
Offline File technology is supported by Folder redirection.
If you've ever needed to access important files stored in a shared folder on your network but couldn't because your laptop was not able to connected from the network. With offline files, you can access copies of your network files even when your computer
isn't connected to the network. You just choose the files (or folders) on your network that you want to make available offline.
Windows automatically creates a copy of each file on your computer.
These copies are called offline files. You can work with these files even when you're not connected to the network, and the next time you are able to connect,
Windows will automatically sync your offline files with the original files in the network folder.
    Regards,
    D. Wu

  • Help...ios7 requires latest iTunes but

I can't download it to my computer because it requires OS X 10.6.8. That software update is not available for my MacBook which is running 10.5.8. I'm told I have a corrupted file on my phone causing network problems (roams and can't get on wifi) so I want to back up my contacts only and delete my iCloud and reset phone. Thanks!

Try this if you're using a PC with Windows, go into My computer, manage, services and applications, then in services, click to drop down services. Check if "iPhone Mobile device service" is listed.
If not, uninstall iTunes, manual reboot, and then reinstall 11.1.
Then go back to services and doubled clicked the iPhone Mobile device and opened it to see the service had been stopped. Restart it and be sure to check it is in automatic. Reboot the phone. Connect to a USB2 port (Not USB3 - Some USB3 ports have issues) Make sure to use original cable. Then opene iTunes to see it recognized the iPhone right away.

  • Blackberry Curve 8320 able to work in China?

    Hi everyone,
I am totally new to the Blackberry world and have no idea if this question is ridiculously stupid, stupid, moderately intelligent or ground-breaking (I doubt the latter).  Anyway, I was wondering if it were possible for a Blackberry Curve 8320 to actually work in China?  I plan to buy one from the US and use it in China and also later in Aus.
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Benjamin

If you're using the GSM version of the blackberry you will be able to use it overseas. However, you will incur roaming charges and per message charges if I'm not mistaken. I have a supplier from Germany that travels to China and most of SE Asia a lot and he has no problems roaming. So long as the country you are going to has blackberry service (China does and so does Australia) you will be able to roam there. If you want to take advantage of cheaper local call rates, then you will need to unlock your phone so that you can insert a local SIM. Other thing to note is that some countries, I know here in Indonesia they do, have pre-paid blackberry service. I just don't know if that will work even with an unlocked phone because your PIN will still be locked to your service provider. Does anyone if the PIN can be easily transferred from one provider to another?

  • New Project - New Problems or The day the Reaper died

Ok, this is more like telling a story than a cry for help.
The story is about a new project, new (great) results and the disaster that followed.
Well story starts October 21st with me upgrading rig 1 with new parts. They came for my Opteron165 setup which oc'ed nicely but didn't make it far enough. So board, cpu and ram of rig 1 (sig) got replaced by the following parts:
    The new cpu is an Athlon X2 5200+ EE (TDP 65W), 2.6ghz, 2x 1024kb L2 cache, 90nm, F3 stepping.
The board is from MSI (of course), a K9N SLi Platinum. Very nice board and luckily it is PCB version 1.2 which features a heatpipe while the older version just had a very bad cooling, passive aluminium heat sink. The older version is the one still to be seen on MSI product site.
The new one looks therefor way better and stays cooler:
In addition I threw a pair of the finest ddr2 ram in it. A 2gb dual channel kit of OCZs new DDR2 PC2-6400 Reaper CL3 Edition. DDR2-800 with 3-4-4-15 (stock), guranteed to work with 2.3volts.
So suppositions for oc were great and I started:
First of all upgraded the bios from 1.8 to the latest 1.10. Then I thought why go step by step, why not starting big. So I set HT clock to 250mhz, resulting in a cpu clock of 3250mhz (multi 13), Hyper transport link set to 800mhz (x4), ram very relaxed (divider 667, 5-5-5-15 2T). It didn't post but I thought solution is easy, forgot to set extra voltage for cpu. Next try at 3250 mhz with 1.25v and set 0.1v extra in bios. It didn't post. I set voltage to maximum but no luck. Tried again but this time I lowered the HT link to 600mhz (x3). Now it posted even with 1v extra and it also booted XP but seemed to be not very stable. So set extra voltage to 0.15v which enhanced stability greatly.
After minor driver problems my old XP installation worked pretty perfectly with the new setup. Time had come to see if it was stable and I started Orthos. It seemed to be ok, 1hour no problems, 2hours, 3hours and bam... 3hours 40 minutes and that's it. I thought "Damn, but it will make it with more voltage". I added more voltage (0.2v extra) and started Orthos again but no way, at 4hours 32 minutes it stopped again.
I'm not easy to discourage and so I added 0.25v to the 1.25v vcore and tried another time. Still 250x13 = 3250mhz.
    And it worked!
Orthos now easiely worked six hours when I stopped it myself to see if it would also be stable with more intensed ram settings. I set ram divider to 800mhz (1:1) resulting in DDR2-929 and timings to 4-4-4-15 2T.
I started Orthos and left the machine alone... Outstanding 16 hours later it was still working!
After 17hours 5 minutes and 50 seconds of running Orthos I knew I had a stable beast!
It also worked with ram set to divider 667 (resulting in 406mhz or ddr2-812) and 3-4-4-15 2T. However 1T was a real killer, thats why I left command rate at 2T and were happy so far.
Performance was really good and I wanted to know if this would increase my 3dmark06 results which were already great with old setup because of nicely oc'ed 8800GTS 320. The opteron could do 9572 3dmarks with it.
The new setup easiely broke the 10.000 points by reaching 10306 points with cpu at 3250mhz, ram at ddr2-929 (4-4-4-15 2T), vga as seen in sig.
It really seemed to be finished. The rest would be just playing around and going for suicide clocks. At least that was what I thought at that time.
Before maxing it out I wanted to have the Vista 64 Ultimate installation also running with the new setup. I hadn't booted vista since upgrading to the am2 system, so I tried for the first time....
AND NOW EVERYTHING GOT F***** UP
Vista welcomed me with a blue screen instead of a logon screen. I was pi**** but aware it might not like changing from NForce4 SLi to NForce 570 SLI. Next step was trying safe mode but vista thought of blue mode and showed a screen of that colour. I thought "ok, maybe you dislike setup change" and so I went for a clean install. I even formated the partition and gave it a go. Installation was fine 'til first start. Well, it wasn't a start to be honest as vista told me it was not able to do this. Repair wasn't successful either.
Assumption was now system is not making the oc clocks although proved to be stable under XP. So I removed any oc and loaded fail-safe mode in bios. Relaxed ram timings to 5-5-5-18. I started installing vista again, thought I could oc again when it is installed.
Oh boy, how wrong I were...  The 2nd installation turned out to be as faulty as the first and I tried again and again... After installation failed nine times I were finally discouraged.
I just wanted to boot XP for now, forget about installing vista and maybe ask here if it this was a known issue.
Well, I didn't get to see XP. I was just informed about a missing file that also prevented to boot safe mode. I took my XP cd and started automatic repair. After this was nearly finished the first errors and notifications about unknown, missing or corrupted files appeared. Although XP made it to finish install and booted successfully. But this XP wasn't a real XP as many things didn't work. I couldn't install drivers because loads of errors and crc crap made working with it impossible. Clear install time! But no way, same issues like seen in vista.
Now I were pretty desperate and I urgently needed an idea.  I came to the solution maybe I could try with single channel, using just one mem stick. I removed one and tried installing XP again. It worked without any issue. Even driver installation and other software worked without a problem. Now I were even able to install Vista.
But still I didn't know what caused all the trouble. I had three suspects: Mobo, ram, cpu. I doubted in faulty board but cpu (failing to control dual channel) or the ram stick I removed were my favorites. As it was the easiest to try I put the other stick back in but used a slot combination that would cause single channel.  Booting Vista now turned out to be a disaster. Errors, corrupt files and so on. Same with XP.
Conclusion: Dual channel is not the problem. Added mem stick was now suspect no.1. I took the first one out and started memtest. Memtest didn't show errors after 8hours. I wondered and started Vista. Result was the same as seen before with two sticks. Errors and access violations. Replaced this stick with the other one and everything was fine again.
Next day I tried with a borrowed MDT 2gb dual channel kit which also worked without a problem.
Sad but true one of the Reapers is K.I.A. . Damn....
Now I'm sitting here with a borrowed kit of value ram which luckily allows me to let the cpu run at 3250mhz with mem divider at 667mhz (result: 406mhz) and which I can luckily keep 'til I get another kit of Reapers. I have to send my current Reapers back to vendor these days and wait for the rma process and wait and wait....
So what started greatly ended not so great. For now I'm sick and tired of seeing bios screens or installing windows and I'm also pretty pi**** because of all the data I lost. Some crucial ones among them.
Main problem remains: I have no idea WHY the Reaper died. I never set any higher vdimm than 2.3v what should be ok for it. It never felt hot and was directly in the main airflow. Also I have no clue why memtest didn't find any error with the faulty stick.

Be aware that you have to keep an eye on shader clocks when oc'ing the gpu. With common tools you're oc'ing gpu and shaders at the same time. Since I'm suspecting a misproportion of gpu/shader clocks to be one of the reasons for problems with factory oc'ed Geforce 8 you should try with different combinations. With the latest Riva Tuner you can change 'em seperately without having to mod the bios.
Memory is at it's end I suppose, that's the problem with most high end cards, no potential. Seems as you have to live with that.
That's true for HD2900 series I think but as far as I know 8800GTX needs it even for stable working.
Could be your psu is too weak, maybe really time for the new Corsair. On the other hand should be strong enough I guess.
You're ungrateful! That good old 3500+ oc'ed so well and was once a real performer and you call him crap.... bad boy.
"You're ungrateful! That good old 3500+ oc'ed so well and was once a real performer and you call him crap.... bad boy. "
yes you are right the CPU perform great, but its just old..(is not CPU fault in direct sense )

Yes im aware about it, but not this is the case.. i got instability even with 2Mhz on the GD more...SD remain @ stock 1350 and memory stock as well.. and go instability...
Reversed story if i put everythink is stock, but +2Mhz more on the memory i got the same instability....
"With the latest Riva Tuner you can change 'em separately without having to mod the bios."
hmm nope here, its locked increasing GD clock inscrease SD clock as well. they are locked and increased in parallel.(etc, both in same time)
"Memory is at it's end I suppose, that's the problem with most high end cards, no potential. Seems as you have to live with that."
mem. chips used are for 1000Mhz the VGA stock, MSI is not OCed them.. so they must have potencial.. also VGA is adverted with DOT... at least its designed to handle till 5-6% OC, i have done few review(don't trust much here, but anyway its an info) and user opinion no problem to OC till 2100Mhz(1050). So i doubt that is memory problem.
"Could be your psu is too weak, maybe really time for the new Corsair. On the other hand should be strong enough I guess."
Yes that is the only conclusion which i can stuck at the moment... Good news is that i have talked with distributor today and they ensured me that will delivered tomorow for me. So tomorow i will know more about that mistery when i install the more powerful(and hope so great) PSU.
