WCS Showing one client associated to two AP´s

Hello,
I´m working on a wireless project that uses some LAP´s 1250, 3 controllers 5508 and a WCS software to manage everything. In one of the areas there are a lot of users, around 90, this area has 6 LAP´s. Some of those clients frequently migrate from one AP to the other. When this happens the WCS shows that client is associated with two AP´s. But when I check the clients list on the controllers, the client is only at one LAP. We are using WCS Version  6.0.181.0. Do you have any problem link this? Is it a WCS bug?
regards,
Felipe

I haven't run into this issue.  This is just a guess but I'm wondering if the client association information is just delayed between WCS and the WLC after a client roams.  You could check the client history and see the amount of time the client was associated to each access point and try to figure out what is going on.

  • How to show one list  from bean two times

    Hi All,
I am using jdeveloper version 11.1.1.6.0.

  • Different No. Ranges for the GR in  one client.

    The rquirement is as follows:
We have two different company codes in one client . These two company codes have their respective plants assigned to it. The GR No. range should be different for different plants as this is the requirement for the client.
Let me know that how we can create the document type for the GR's so that we can assigh the different No. range for the different plants.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Mahendra Dev.

    Hi ,
    Thanks for ur reply,
I also know that different number ranges in this situation are not possible and as per your suggessation we can create a new document in OBF4 and assign new number range to it but this assigned number range will be applicable to whole client, that means suppose we are doing a goods receipts in different plants of different company codes in same client the number range assigned to the goods receipt document will be from the same number range but my requirement is whether it is possible to assign different number ranges to goods receipt for two different plants.

  • WCS reponds slow when generating the Client Association reports

    Hello,
I have set a Wireless Network in of our client's corporate office - which consists of one WLC4404, 42 x 1131AG Access Points. WCS is used to mainly to monitor the AP reachability and Client Association and Deassociations from the WLAN.
When i click on Run Now of the Client Association reports; the report is generated successfully. But when i try to view other pages such as Monitor>Network Summary - the WCS stops responding and it takes approximately 7 mins to display the Monitor>network Summary page. At this time i have observed that the server is reachable during the continous ping and the Server CPU utilization remains to 8% and Memory utilization remains to 1.56GB.
Error Message: Error getting dataa from Server. Make sure you have connectivity and the Server is UP.
Server used is a Standard Server HP Proliant ML110 with 1.86GHz Intel Xeon CPU and 2GB RAM. Operating System used is Win 2003 Server with SP1.
Please can one help me solving this problem.

Hi. I am having an issue with music on my IPod. It would probably be easier to explain my specific issue: I have songs by Band of Horses from Cease to Begin. When viewing my albums through cover flow, it shows Cease To Begin as two separate albums, one with only Islands on the Coast, and the other having Islands on the Coast with 3 other songs. If I delete the album with only one song from my IPod, it deletes the song from the other "album" as well. If I go to "All Songs" by Band of Horses, it only shows one Islands on the Coast, so it is not a duplicate issue. Also, in Itunes, it only shows one album. I just recently updated to iOS5 on my 4th Gen IPod Touch, if that helps.

  • WCS:Client association reports

    Hi,
    In the WCS Menu:
    reports->client->client association
when a client association occurs, the timestamp is referred to the time at which the WLC receives the request of association or the ACK association?
    ex:
    Association Time||Client MAC||Map Location||AP Name...
    11:13 AM||00:01:4a:e5:e0:9b||Campus Nord || A6 ...
is possible to have a timestamp with milliseconds precision?
    Thanks.

  • WLC 2504 v7.5.102.0 Client Association Issues. Association not consistent

    Hi All,
I'm having a strange issue whereby client association to my corporate or guest wifi ssid are not consistent. Sometimes I have no issues connecting repeatedly and other times I cannot connect and receive the "Windows was unable to connect to *SSID*"
I'm unable to determine whether it is a wireless association issue or if its a authentication issue as I have troubles connecting to both my secure (WPA2, AES, 802.1x) corporate wifi or my guest (Open Auth) wifi.
Currently per day I have about 15 users using the wifi on both SSID's. The access points are right in the vicinity of the users. I have 2 LAP1142 access points on separate 802.11a/b/g/n channels and signal strenght is always high.. I'm certain its not co-channel interference or interference whatsoever. RSSI values are -60dBm and SNR 30+ dB. On average I will have 10 users on the wireless fine but one or two people are unable to connect.
I have had wireshark run and when it does not connect I do not see anything in the logs. No traffic is captured!
I cannot see the AAA capturing anything. Signal strength as stated above is high ( I have the AP on my desk!)
Sometimes I can instantly connect with no troubles and other times its not association at all. I've recently updated to version 7.5 and these issues started to occur. Previous version 7.3 had no problems at all for years!.
The logs in the WLC show
    *Dot1x_NW_MsgTask_0: Nov 27 04:42:09.956: #DOT1X-3-INVALID_WPA_KEY_MSG_STATE: 1x_eapkey.c:864 Received invalid EAPOL-key M2 msg in START  state - invalid secure bit; KeyLen 24, Key type 1, client 3c:a9:f4:4x:xx:xx
Does anyone have an idea what could this issue could be?
    Many thanks

Thanks for your reply Sandeep. Been working on it all afternoon with debugging.
To answer your question, sometimes I can connect and sometimes I cannot. This afternoon I haven't been able to connect much at all. 2 out of 20 times perhaps. Other users I can see are connected to the two access points in this office. This isn't just happening on my laptop but several laptops. Same symptom.
Heres the dot1x output I have captured from the debug of a FAILED association attempt.

I can see that the WLC has tried to send a EAP-Request/Identity request to the client but no response back. I just don't understand why it works at times and why it doesn't.
It has the same issues on my guest network which is open authentication. Nothing has changed in regards to configuration and it has been working for years. Only thing that changed was a version upgrade to 7.5 three weeks ago.

  • Wireless Client associated to 2 APs

I searched for my mac address in WCS and I recieved three results. See the attached screenshot. I am just curious why the second entry show I am associated to AP 00:00:00:00:00:00?
I do not have an AP named that.
Running 4.2.130 on all my WLC. Have a mis of WiSM and 4400 Controllers totaling about 10 WLCs.

As Jeff mentioned, this is due to your client roaming and most likely due to wlc roaming. The information you see is not real time accurate, especially the wlc information of clients. You can see that 10.92.0.111 shows the client as still being authenticated which is not the case. So most likely what happens is the wlc is cached until flushed or cleared, but ap's keep the real time information, so the all zero's just mean that the wlc knows of the client but not yet flushed the old info and when it tries to detect which ap that user is on, there isn't one.... so it produces the all zero's.

  • SRM "one-client" installation on ECC 6.0 EhP: Own client needed for SRM?

    Hello experts,
    i've a question concerning the SRM "one-client" installation on ECC 6.0 EhP4 as Add-On.
Is it possible to use SRM and ERP funtionality in a single client e.g. 001?
Or do we have to use different clients on the system like for SUS?
I haven't found any information regarding this topic in SAP ressources. I'm currently using CG "SAP SRM on One Client in
SAP ERP" Release date 2008 (found on marketplace/srm-inst --> srm7.0); SRM - Technical Basis Configuration (BuildingBlock S00/S03). I'm facing problems while going through the following customizing steps:
Assign logical System to Client [both logicall systems are on the same client (001)] ==> error while trying to reference the second logical sys. because client (001) cannot be used again (own presumption: error message differs)
I've seen that some of you have successfully installed and customized this szenario. If someone could provide me any helpful information or guideline how to proceed in general... would be great...
    Best regards,
    PATRICK

Thanks for your reply. I've checked the offline documentation because i've no access to solman.
There is a document which describes the steps for configuring one-client customizing on marketplace.
Link: [SAP SRM 7.0: SAP SRM on One Client with SAP ERP|https://websmp203.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001201562009E]
The problem is that its impossible to cofigure the system like it's described in the document.
    Let me explain why...
SRM Addon is installed and customizing is done in client 001 (same client as erp)
    overview about defined logical systems:
    -ONECLNTERP (for ERP is defined)
    -ONECLNTEBP (for SRM is defined)
When I try to assign the logical system to client 001 it works for the first entry
for the second log. system it shows up an error message.
-->I assume because client 001 has been already assigned. I cant use client 001 again.
But One-Client szenario schould be possible in a single client or is SAPs One-Client more like One-System with differnet clients for SRM and ERP on the same machine?
Because of the above mentioned problem I assume that it's impossible to run ERP and SRM in the same Client number.
Am I right? Do I have to use two Clients on One System for proper Customizing?
Or if it's possible to use a single client on one machine for both ERP and SRM how is it possible to assign two log. systems to one client number?
I'm totally confused. Any help would be appreciated  - any tips/hints/experiences from someone who has customized One-Client?
    BR, Patrick

  • Wireless client association hostname

    Hi all,
    I'm having issue with the above unit. Currently I have 3 units of AIR-SAP2602E-S-K9 with 15.2(2)JB under 1 SSID. Currently all my clients connected to the AP does not have their computer hostname appearing under the client association. What it is showing instead is the hostname of the AP. For eg;
    Device Type
    Name
    IP Address
    MAC Address
    State
    Parent
    VLAN
    ccx-client
    AP-HOSTNAME
    XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX
    Xxx.xXx.Xxx
    EAP-Associated
    self
    1
Any Idea how I can get the hostname of the clients instead?

If both the SSID and your client were configured for open, and you still couldn't associate, something doesn't jive. There are a couple of things that can cause an issue like this.
    1) Is the MFP Client Protection "Required" under the advanced tab?
    2) Is the WMM Policy "Required" under the QoS tab?
    3) Is the "Aironet IE" enabled under the advanced tab of the SSID? That can cause problems for some clients.
Any of those (especially the first two) would cause a similar issue with not being able to associate, as having mismatched encryption types.

  • Client Association,Authentication

    Hey All,
In regards to the Assoiciation and Authentication I would just like to check that I am getting the process correct:
    1. Authentication( open or shared) this is the client talking to the AP and saying that it is an 802.11 device ( kind of like an ethernet cable being pluged into a wall jack), if it has a PSK then it must have the right details to Auth with the AP. This is Auth'd to the AP but not the network, so no network traffic can pass just yet.
    2. Association the client associates with the BSS/AP and data can now pass over to the AP.
    3. 802.1x Authentication ( EAP) - if required
In the above Image the Associated status means it passed step 2 and the Auth means in passed 802.1x?
If this is the case in the above Image the Authed clients ( blue line) are the clients that have passed 802.1x? and the red line is clients that have passed stage 2?
    Thanks

    Hello,
In the client association process,  access points send out beacons announcing one or more SSIDs, data rates,  and other information. The client sends  out a probe and scans all the channels and listens for beacons and  responses to the probes from the access points. The client associates to the access point that has  the strongest signal. If the signal becomes low, the client repeats the scan to associate with  another access point (this process is called roaming). During  association, the SSID, MAC address, and security settings are sent from  the client to the access point and  checked by the access point. Figure  3-6 illustrates the client  association process.
    Figure 3-6 Client  Association
A wireless clients association to a selected access point  is actually the second step in a two-step process. First, authentication  and then association must occur before an 802.11 client can pass traffic through the access  point to another host on the network. Client  authentication in this initial process is not the same as network  authentication (entering username and password to get access to the  network). Client authentication is simply  the first step (followed by association) between the wireless client and access point, and it establishes  communication. The 802.11 standard specifies only two different methods  of authentication: open authentication and shared key authentication.  Open authentication is simply the exchange of four "hello" type packets  with no client or access point  verification, to allow ease of connectivity. Shared key authentication  uses a statically defined WEP key, known between the client and access point, for verification. This  same key might or might not be used to encrypt the actual data passing  between a wireless client and an access  point based on user configuration.

As you can see, that is only one minutes worth only (I didn't think it necessary to fill an entire page or two)!
The question is, is this 'normal' behaviour - I am guessing not? Oddly, the MAC address is that of my laptop, and that appears to be the only device affected. There is another laptop connected wirelessly, along with a games console, tablet, various phones etc, but they don't seem to be affected at all.
Additionally mine is the only laptop/device that regularly drops off the wireless network with DNS server not responding errors, although these errors do not correspond - datestamp wise - with any of the entries in the log as per the table above..
I have tried 'a lot' trying to rid myself of the DNS server errors, but coupled with the fact mine is the only device in the log, could this potentially be an indication the wireless card in the laptop is dying?

As an update, I tried splitting the two wireless signals apart, and giving them each a different SSID. I then connected to the 2.4ghz signal, (as I was getting the same errors on the 5ghz) and since then have had no disconnects, no DNS server errors, and the amount of log entires has reduced to what I would call reasonable.
So, I am guessing there is some sort of incompatability between my laptop and the hub using the 5ghz signal.  Odd though as my tablet is connected to the same signal with no issues at all, and using InSSIDer mine is the only 5ghz wifi signal in the (local) area, no others being detected.
If anyone can shed any light on DNS server errors - when connected to a 5ghz wifi signal - I would be very interested. I have tried all sorts of fixes, from manually setting DNS server addresses in the card properties all the way through to using the basic old drivers through to the very latest.

  • Client Association Activity Log?

I have seven AP1242s (Autonomous) configured for roaming and one client.
Is there a way to see the association activity of the client between APs?
In other words, if I move my client throughout the coverage area, I would to see a log that looks something like this:
    11:30:31 associated with AP1
    11:33:35 associated with AP1
    11:35:40 associated with AP2
    11:40:00 associated with AP3
Is this possible with autonomous APs and a really dumb client?
And I don't think the "show dot11 associations" command can do this right?
    Thanks

Yes.. search in Google for SNMP walk.. u wil get n number of tools.. go for MIB browser or any other tool.. install the same on ur laptop.. then download the MIBS from the cisco.com and then add the MIBs in that tool and you will be able to get the data
Lemme know if this naswered ur question and please dont forget to rate the usefull posts!!

  • How to transfer file from one client to another client?

    hello,
i have some questions and hope you all can help me..thanks a lot first..
    Here are the questions:
    i) How can i send a file from one client to another client using RMI?
ii) Does the client(sender) need to send the file to server, then server save it and then send it to another client(receiver)?
iii) If using RMI, a client can receive two files from same client(sender) or different client(sender) at a same time? how to do it? when both of the files come in from same port, how to differenciate them?
iv) For your information, i am doing the File Transfer Server-client application which sender can send any file to other client. Can you give me any ideas? thanks..
    Last, thanks again..

Your questions reflect some ambiguity in terms.
"Client" and "server" are commonly used in two different senses:
    1. Technical sense: A client process makes requests, and a server process fulfills the request (provides a service).
    2. IT sense: A client computer (process) makes requests of a server (computer) process, and the server (computer) processes the request.
In the first case, any computer might be a client, or a server, or both, depending on the processes being executed. In the second case, the computers are assigned some role.
So: If you wanted to, you could implement client/server processes communicating between two peer computers, using RMI.
This may not be what you wanted; if you really want to distinguish client and server computers, then the answer is that yes, you will probably put files into intermediate storage on the server computer.
Finally, you probably do not have to worry about port conflicts if you use RMI; while the initial client server contact is established through a registry operating on a standard port, the actual RMI communications is established using random ports, one for each link.
