WD 4 ABAP - expanded nodeelement in TreeByNestingTableColumn

Hi,
I am using the TreeByNestingTableColumn to show a hierarchy table in WD 4 ABAP. When clickin on the norgie triangle in front of the hierarchy parent element, I need to access this node element in the event handler coding. How do I access this element, it is not the get_lead_selection () element?

Hi Robert,
reading the leadselection is not sufficient, because it would only read one level. To get it in your nested table, use method CL_WD_DYNAMIC_TOOL=>GET_TABLE_TREE_LEAD_SELECTION.

1) I am trying to implement a tree with nested structure and multiple columns. I am using RecursionNode in the context and UI element TreeByNestingTableColumn. I am not able to figure out how to make a distinction between the key and parent key. In TreeByKeyTableColumn, we use key and parent key to differentiate. Is there any link which explains how to implement TreeByNestingTableColumn in Webdynpro for ABAP? (I got a link for webdynpro for java though).
2) Can ALV be used to implement a tree structure instead of using Table with TreeByNestingTableColumn or TreeByKeyTableColumn? Then I would be readily able to use ALV features like sort etc. If it can be used is there any link which explains how to do it in Webdynpro for ABAP?

I can answer the first point. If you use a recursive node and TreeByNestingTableColumn, there is no need to have a rowKey and parentRowKey, since the recursion with the context already defines the hierarchy. As far as I know someone posted a blog that explains how to use the TreeByNestingTableColumn in Web Dynpro Java. I don't have the link available, but this blog would be good place to start. The implementation in WDA and WDJ is pretty much the same here.

Expanding and Collapsing All Nodes in a TreeByNestingTableColumn

Hi Experts,
I'm using NWDS 7.0.18.
I have a table with TreeByNestingTableColumn (master column).
The child nodes are recursive nodes and are loaded at runtime with an action onLoadChildren when clicking the master column. My question is, when the hierarchy is in its initial state, only the root node is loaded into the table. But I want to add functionality for expanding all nodes in the tree. Is there a way to achieve this, I'm a little confused because the Hierarchy children havent been loaded yet.
Any suggestion will greatly help.

To expand & collpase all the child nodes please modify the code as below.
Create two methods exapndAll & collapseAll and call these two methods in existing button actions.

Expand tree in WebDynpro ABAP application

Currently I am working on a WDA application which contains a UI ELEMENT TREE. The tree is generated dynamically at runtime.
I was guided by the example of SAP "WDT_TREE". After generating the tree looks like this:

Now the tree is expanded, but i can't see EAF1 and LEAF2. I get them only by clicking again on node1.

I found the solution for my question. Expand tree in Webdynpro application
Soultion
In the context node i.e used as a source for tree, you create a attribute
Attribute Name: IS_BOOLEAN
Attribute type : WDY_BOOLEAN
Default Value : X
And in Context node Un check the Initialization lead selection.
Now bind the Expand property of TreeNodeType with 'IS_EXPAND' which you have created just now.
This way the whole tree will be expanded.

Webdynpro ABAP, table TreeByNestingTableColumn

I have a table defined as a TreeByNestingTableColumn. I need to change the icon displayed in the table.
I used WDDOMODIFYVIEW method to get the data with method get_static_attributes and then set..
But it is possible only to change the first row.. How to get and set all rows displayed in the table??

I found that this could be fixed by changing the portal theme using the theme editor, specifically changing the table cell padding property.

Unfortunately, this is not possible. I am afraid you need to switch to using the table ui element directly or to refrain from using a hierarchical column.

get_expanded_nodes -->This method returns a node table containing the keys of all expanded nodes

ABAP WD: Fully expand a Tree

Hi all,
I'm having a very hard time achieving the following:
I would like to FULLY EXPAND a WD tree in code.
Allthough it sounds easy i dont get it to work.
What have i tried allready:
- the 'Expanded' property of the treenode at designtime.
- if_wd_context_node->SET_LEAD_SELECTION
- if_wd_context_element->set_selected
- fiddled with the 'Initialisation Lead Selection' property
Any suggetsions?

I dont have a recursive node, since my tree is allways 2 levels deep, so i have a tree with 1 TreeNodeType and 1 TreeElementType.
What i dont get to work is to get a reference to the (instantiated) nodes at runtime.
all i get is a Table with the nodeTYPES (the metadata of the Tree)

Tree in WD ABAP - urgent

HI Experts,
I am working on WD for ABAP.
I am using a tree to display some data. Node1 points to Root and subnode1 point to node1.
node1-->root
subnode1--> node1
When we expand node1, it shows ">" (arrow) for child nodes.
and if we further expand chld node(sunbnode1) we can see "." (Dot)
As per my requirement IF the node1 does not have any value for subnode1 than node1 should not show ">" , istead of that it should how "." for that child node.
could anyone plz tell me ....
1)how can I solve this.
2)How to use recursive node. I have never used recursive nodes.
PLease reply ASAP. Its very urgent.

Hi,
When you work on Tree, you should remember 4 important attributes.
expanded, parent row key, row_key and is_leaf.
To add children to parent we will have to maintain the relationship between row_key of PARENT and parent_row_key of CHILD.
if row_key = 1, then parent_row_key shoud be eqaul to row_key of parent, so that the corresponding childs will get added to parent.
if u put is_leaf = 'X'., then it means that they bcome childs(no longer exapndable ".")
and when u expand a parent, then expand = 'X'.

but I don't understand how to correct it.
It said :
This error cannot be corrected automatically. Use the method DELETE_VERSION_FROM_DB of the class CL_RSTRAN_STAT to delete the existing A version of the transformation manually in the target system.
Ensure that the transformation is permanently deleted from the database; therefore, you should verify that the correct transformation ID is specified (in the short dump, the TranID that is specified in the short dump is in the variable L_TRANID).

Each field of cluster table behaves as tables which contains the no. of entries.
2. What are client dependant objects in abap/sap?

Table buffers reside locally on each application server in the system. The data of buffered tables can thus be accessed

I was testing a developed object. There are two types of testing
- Negative testing
- Positive testing
In negative testing we will give negative data in input and we check any errors occurs.
In positive testing we will give positive data in input for checking errors.

We can create a internal table like 'bsgmcgcoll'. All the messages will go to internal table. We can get errors in this internal table.

Call transaction is faster then session method. But usually we use session method in real time...because we can transfer large amount of data from internal table to database and if any errors in a session. Process will not complete until session get correct.

Format question for a ABAP report

Hi experts,
Exist a way to create or use a format to print an output of an ABAP report that adjust to the screen? I have a Abap report that in the output have some subtrees for the information displayed.... but if the user expand a lot the subtrees when he or she print the document they see the leters and numbers very small or whitout some columms.... How can I create a format to fix this or what is the way ?

Abap report print logo or image in reverse order

Dear all,
Currently we are using sap enterprise 4.7 . in our abap report sap report and data is OK but log is print in reverse in HP LaserJet p255d and HP LaserJet p250 series PCL 6.
But same report in hp leaser jet 1320 run ok in SWIN driver.
I change the driverson output dvice in sap but result is same how can I update or install print driver that can be I see in SPAD --> output device --> device type

SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial - Running but Dialog Queue standstill

since today morning I am having troubles with the SAP Netweaver ABAP Trial version which has run now for over 6 months without any issues. The issues appeared suddenly and I didn't change anything to configuration / network. I am going through the forum now since a couple of hours and I have checked the following. I have read that the most common error is, that the log is full. Anyhow I have checked the log files.

2.) So I installed the SAP MaxDB Database Manager in order to check the logs and do an archiving. But here seems to be the issue - I can not see the NSP Database instance (see attached screenshot). But how can this be? The log file say that the db connection is ok?
3.) What is really strange to me is the Syslog in the management console --> see log3.png. Why does it say work process in reconnect status?

I tried to do so, but in the MaxDB Database Manager I can add the db instance, but I am not able to connect to it (service is running).
