What? I'm really confused by your question. Is it even about Web Dynpro ABAP?  You are talking about SAPGUI vs. Webgui. What does that have to do with Web Dynpro ABAP?

  • Scroll bar and volume indicator

Somehow the scroll bar on the right side of the touchpad doesn't work.  Also even though the touch slider for the volume still works, the screen graphic showing the volume slider when it is moved doesn't appear.  This started when somehow a number of files on the system became "read only" and I had to go to each one and take off the read only designation.  Is there a location for the scroll bar and volume graphic that needs to be turned on?  The mouse itself works fine and I can still scroll with the scroll buttons onscreen.

Hi, thanks a lot for the support. I've found the solution!
I've checked all of the installed programs on my system. All programs are from verified publishers.
Actual problem was with graphic drivers. My laptop is Sony Vaio and therefore I had the recommended latest drivers (for my graphic card) available from Sony website installed. The graphic card is from NVIDIA GeForce. So, don't know why but I uninstalled all graphic drivers from the system and downloaded the latest drivers available for my graphic card hardware from NVIDIA website. Now the new latest drivers from NVIDIA solved the problem !!! Firefox is working perfect. No problem on any website.
May be the same can work for other Firefox users also having this problem. No need to disable "hardware acceleration when available" in Firefox.
    Happy !!!! :D :D

You also may want to google "scroll javascript" for more options.

Not sure why that was unchecked but good to know!
Apple's new default (since at least a couple of OS releases back) is to have it off so OS X matches the behavior of an iPhone or iPad.
I almost never need a scroll bar, and when I do, I just move over to the edge of the window when scrolling and a larger scroll bar appears.
Yes, for the most part, users don't really need the scroll bar. That's what the scroll wheel on almost all mice is for. Saves the trip over to bar to physically grab and move it. But, I do like it on all the time regardless. That way (especially with a long article) I can just take a quick glance over to the bar to see about where I am on the page (a third of the way down? halfway?). Otherwise, I have to move the page just to make it appear to give me the same information.

  • How do I view the Horizontal Scrolling bar and status bar at the bottom of the screen. I can only see the top menus, toolbars and vertical scroll bar?

Before the most recent upgrade, the bottom horizontal scrolling bar and status bar appeared on my screen. Now since upgrading, I cannot see the. Anyone ideas how to restore them?

If you haven't already, you could force-quit Quicktime by using the menu option from the desktop (finder) and choose Quicktime.
Not sure what you have frozen on the screen, be it a failed movie, or some unusual screen shot. If you can find by date (created) you may be able to look for .mov or quicktime suffix name or other video file content to delete it.
And you may have to restart your computer and perhaps run repair disk permissions from Disk Utility's first aid on the hard disk drive in your computer.
Not sure if all that would help now, but it is something a few days late...!
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • Bring back traditional scroll bars and arrows

Why would Apple change a fundemental part of the UI? Removing scroll bars and arrows from the UI is unacceptable in my view. I understand you can restore scroll bar functionality from system preferences but having the arrows on certain apps is very helpful. What possible reason or improvement could warrant this action?

I'm a Wacom tablet user for many yeras, an not planning to get a Magic Mouse ($60.89) or Magic Trackpad ($96.03).
Why? Till 10.6.8 it work fine. It looks to me that Apple wants te sell more of there Mouse and Trackpads.
Just bring back traditional scroll bars and arrows as a option.
Apple starting to look like Microsoft. "We know what's best for you".
Just give the OSX users a option. I'll wait for a OSX update or for some one how writes a nice small utility to bring theme back. He/She will be a hero.

  • RIPPLE EFFECT when using mouse to click on scroll bar and scroll

Has anyone else had this problem? I have tried 4 new 24" iMac's and ALL FOUR do this! When you click on the scroll bar and scroll down or up, there is a definite "ripple" in the window of what you are looking at. It's as if you put a steel rod under a sheet and pulled it up and down. It only happens when using the mouse to click and scroll. Not with the track ball, not with the arrows, not with the keyboard. I updated Safari, tried using Firefox instead, installed all the OS updates, but it still happens. So far no one in Support has a clue. The display models at the stores didn't do it, but my guess is they are from an older shipment...so maybe this is an anomaly with imac's shipped after April 10.
Try it on your computer and see if it happens. If so, we need to all let Apple know there needs to be a fix.

    HI,
    Quit Safari.
Go here: MacintoshHD/Library/Preferences and locate this file.
    com.apple.windowserver.plist
Drag that file to the Desktop. Launch Safari and see if the scroll functions as it should. If it's ok, drag that file to the trash, empty the Trash and restart your Mac.

  • I have deleted by mistake the site bar and I don't know how to eneter a site that I want to do, does anybody knows how to get the site bar back?

i made a right click and by mistake i deleted the site bar and i don't know how to get it back. :/

It sounds like you have hidden the navigation toolbar. To bring it back, in the View menu select Toolbars, then click on "Navigation Toolbar" in the list of toolbars to display it. Active toolbars will have a tick by their name.
If the menus themselves are missing, press either Alt or F10 to temporarily display the menus. You can then Select View > Toolbars and then click on "Menu Bar" in the list to permanently display it.

My tool bar and icons do not appear when my desktop boots up. Just wallpaper. Any ideas?

Does everything appear if you just click anywhere on the Desktop? This happens at random to me and it's a known bug (at least in 10.6.)

I recommend to check www.icloud.com, are your contacts shown there?
If not -> Something might be not set up correctly on you iOS devices.
Also.. Simple but maybe occuring: Contacts -> Preferences -> Accounts -> iCloud is enabled? (Should be by default if you have iCloud setup via the system preferences, but you never know..)

Hi, I have recently updated my OS X to Maverick. when I did, my mail programme (Mail) will not open - for me only. There are 4 other users of the iMac, and they don't appear to have any problems.

First, Safe Boot , (holding Shift key down at bootup), use Disk Utility from there to Repair Permissions, test if things work OK in Safe Mode.
Then move these files to the Desktop for now...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.systempreferences.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.desktop.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/com.apple.recentitems.plist
    Reboot & test.
PS. Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.

  • Scroll bars & creating buttons problem

I am trying to create a basic photo browser. The upper area is the enlarged view of the image. The lower portion is a scrollable view of the thumbnails in the directory chosen. I have most of it working...except that the scrollable view doesn't scroll, and the buttons that I created don't cause the image to show up in the main view port.
There is the main window, divided into two parts: upper and lower. The upper part is the main view, as described above. The lower part is a panel. That lower panel contains two things, another panel and a button. This panel inside the lower section contains the scrollable window; this scrollable window is a viewport onto another panel that contains the dynamically created buttons (which are thumbnails of the images in the directory).
I was trying to force the scrollbar policy to always show the horizontal bar (that is the only one I want visible) but that wasn't working either; I would get compiler errors when that was included. I have tried adjusting sizes of things, and the order that things are added to the main JFrame.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
