WD Digital Harddrive Latest Model

I need a 2nd internal HD. I was thinking of a WD500. With all the different model letters, I am not sure which is the most current. I should get a SATA II model, correct? The Western Digital website is not so clear. I think the latest is the WD Caviar SE16 WD4000KD. Barefeats list the WD5000KS but according to macmall.com the WD SE16 500GB WD5000KSRTL is a PC only drive not universal. Any advice would be helpful.

KSRTL just means "retail" but I would not generally buy from MacMall. And I've got 3 500GB Caviar SE16 from OWC now (one from Amazon).

Yes you can. OS X version 10.6.6 and later can read/write exFAT. Windows XP SP3 and later can read/write exFAT. As posted by Radiation Mac, you can do it from Windows or from OS X.
However, I've noticed Windows to be somewhat picky about drives formatted on a Mac. So, if Windows can't read it, try formatting it on the Windows machine, and see how it works on the Mac.
Posting your email on a public forum isn't a very good idea. It will likely be harvested by spambots and used as the reply-to address for spam it sends out.
Also, most people are not going to send an email to you for similar reasons. Nobody knows who you are, so sending an email to you could be giving a spammer a valid email address.
The forum is set up to automatically notify you when there are responses to your questions. When you get one, you would log back into this forum and check to see what the answer was.

Regarding display resolution options on the latest model

I just purchased the the latest model. I've been using Mac for a few years and in each version there has been a "streched" option available for some of the resolutions. I've got too used to that. Right now it's set on 1024 * 640. Is there any way to get the "streched" option to show up?

I'm not sure how all of this works but I read a few of yur comments and figured you'd be the person to ask! I have an iPod touch as well as my iPhone 4. I'm trying to find an otter box for the touch because I truly love it on my ip4, not to mention ive given the touch to my 6 year old and NEED the protection. Anyway, I'm not positive which generation it is and don't want to order the wrong one. The model # is A 1367.

Macbook pro vs macbook air- latest models

I am looking to upgrade my mid-2012 Pro to one of the following latest models: MacBook Pro, 4GB 500GB HD or MacBook Air 4GB, 256 Flash Storage.
I am in graduate school so I will using it for papers, research, etc but not for over two classes and not every month of the year. I usually am on everyday browsing the web, checking emails. The main purpose of it would be to watch tv shows via iTunes, Netflix, Hulu. I have purchased many shows from iTunes and have them downloaded in my library so storage is something of importance. I know that the Pro comes with a dvd/cd drive but I rarely use that. I'm not sure I would miss it but I worry. Any advice would be appreciated! Which would be the best for me? Also since I do watch a lot of television on it, how would the retina display benefit me?

Get MBP. it is a real computer. You will be able to do some work on it.

Sounds like you bought an AT&T no contract phone. You will need to contact AT&T for unlocking but they are only doing so for current and previous account holders. If you have never had service with them they will not unlock your phone.

Contact the original cellular provider, as they are the only ones that can provide unlocking.

TS4526 Audio out of Sync on Apple TV (latest model) after update

I recently updated to the lastest software version on my Apple TV (latest model) and since then a good portion of my movie files have serious audio sync issues. I also just updated to the latest version of itunes on my Mac Mini. I am using home sharing to share my movie collection. All of the movies play perfectly on my mac mini without any audio sync issues but when i try them on my Apple TV its horrible and unwatchable. Any ideas? Is there a way to roll back to a previous software version on the Apple TV? Please advise. Also, all of my movies are legit ripped copies of DVD's and Blu Rays that I own. The issue is happening to random movies some HD and some SD

it is not my conversions. The files all play perfectly in itunes on my mac mini and as a test I moved my Apple TV to my basement and I used a wired connection instead of wifi and it is working now; all files. I believe that the new software updated did something to the wifi and this is the issue. I never had any problems before the update and I get excellent wifi signal where I had my Apple TV before. All my problems have been since the stupid update.

Hi, I am interested in purchasing a Mac Mini Server - The latest model. But have a few questions
1.) Before I purchase soon, is there an updated line coming out that I should wait for - Or no rumors as of yet?
2.) I read a while back that Mac Mini server, could not bootcamp. But recently came across a post stating that the newer systems w/ Mountain lion contained the necesscary files to bootcamp Windows 7 (off google, lost original link)

But now of course I have other issues regarding the use of 2 monitors. I now have both my Macs hooked up to the KVM using the 30" but I am unable to view the other monitor which is not a High definition display(1280 x 1024). It seems the only other port available on the Mini is the HDMI port which I have the HDMI to DVI adapter for. Is it possible to connect this VGA display with a DVI to VGA adapter (which I have)? Or am I looking at yet another purchase of a compatible display? This VGA display is primarily used for communications with coworkers..etc so that my 30" is only for my work. The ones you posted are for Late-2011. The latest is Mid-2012. Look for MD101LL/A.
