WD has to be on same Web AS which is hosting the portal (NW2004s, SP13)?
Hi,
I want to make an iView out of a WebDynpro. In portal I have therefore two possibilities. I'm talking of the one which has a "WD" in the iView sign.
If I want to use this kind of iView, has the WebDynpro to be on the same server as the portal, or is there any possibility to tell which system is the WebDynpro system?
Thank you and best regards,
Marcus
Hi Marcus,
The WebDynpro iview you are using (which has a WD icon in the portal content explorer) cannot refer to a webdynpro application on another application server. If you do want to separate your portal and webdynpro applications on two servers, you have two options:
1. Use the old webdynpro iview in which you can use the "System" property to refer to another system.
2. Use the new Webdynpro iview (the one with the wd icon) on the server on which the webdynpro applications are running, and use this iview in your portal via federated portal technology. However, in this case, you'd have to run a portal also on the server hosting the webdynpro applications.
Regards,
Johan

Web dynpro Abap not inheriting the Portal theme
Hi,
My Web Dynpro Abap is not inheriting the Portal theme. My understanding is that for NW2004, EP7, Web Dynpro Abaps would automatically inherit the Portla theme. Is there some coding required or pre-config of some sort that I have missed to allow the Portal theme inheritance?
thanks

Although Firefox is used by P-02E of DoCoMo, many problems are troubled recently.
If it is going to see specific URL, it will force to terminate certainly.

Is there anyway to set the wallpaper as it appears in photo album?
FYI im using 4S currentlyi believe it zooms, even if the parallax feature is turned off (which can be toggled by going to settings -> general -> accessibility -> reduce motion

Call Same Web Service Multiple Times
Hello All,
Just wondering if there are any issues calling the same web service more than once within a single form?
Basically what I'm trying to do is use an LDAP web service that returns a user name at different status levels. (i.e. user1 who starts the form process, and then again at user2 who is reviewing the form - pre-populating their names)
Since the web service is already bound to the first set of fields at level 1, I created a new data connection to the same web service to run at the next level. Problem is, I'm not getting any errors OR any results.
Do I need to just re-create the web service with another name?
Thanks.Multiple calls work fine for me.
Just create a new data connection and that's it. -
Why does Firefox no longer display .php suffix web pages which are in my Mac?
I have a question about Firefox 14.0.1 displaying .php suffix web page files which are in a Mac running Mountain Lion OS 10.8. In eaarlier versions of Mac OS, for example 10.4.7, I was able to see properly displayed web page files with .html and .php suffixes when those web page files were in my computer. I refer to seeing the page as it should properly display, not seeing the source code. If a page had a .php suffix, the browser displayed the page properly although any php scripts embedded in that page were ignored.
Apple occasionallly updated its OS and browser makers occasionally updated browsers. One day, I noticed that Safari no longer displayed web page files in my Mac if those pages had a .php suffix. However, Firefox and other browsers continued to display web page files with .php suffixes although the embedded php scripts were ignored.
Now, I have Mountain Lion in iMac.
I can no longer see .php suffix web page files in my computer regarless of the browser I use. No browser displays those pages.
A .php suffix web page file which Firefox and other browsers display in 10.4.7 does not display in 10.8 if that web page file is in the computer.
In my computer, I have html and php suffix web page files I want to see using a browser. The files I want to see and the browser both are in my computer. Html files display perfectly with one exception: if php scripts are embedded in the html files, the scripts are ignored. A file the name of which ends with ".php" will not be displayed regardless of whether there is a php script in the file. Safari displays the source code only. Chrome does not display the file at all. Firefox and SeaMonkey, which displayed .php suffix web page files in earlier versions of the Mac OSm now respond to such pages by providing a dialog box which seems to assume that the file is about to be downloaded from the Internet. The dialog box asks me if I want to use the browser to open the file or if I want to save it to disk. The file is on the disk at the time, and the computer is disconnected from the Internet. I click that I want to use the browser to open the file. Then the dialong box reopens with the same question. This happens over and over. I never get to see a web page file in my computer the name of which ends with ".php". With Firefox 14.0.1, I can see .php suffix web pages which are on the Internet or in a 10.4.7 Mac but not in a 10.8 Mac. Did I miconfigure Firefox? It seems unlikely that Firefox lost the ability to display pages in Mac OS 10.8 which it displays in `10.4.7. How can I solve this web page display problem?Haroon mentions two solutions. I used the easier one, which is to start the Apache webserver already in Mountain Lion and to enable the php already in Mountain Lion. It worked. I see the file correctly displayed with html, css, and php. I see the page by using Firefox. I enter an address in the address bar. For example, the address might be "localhost/example/example.php". I cannot see the page by using Firefox's "Open File ..." menu option or by dragging the file's icon onto Firefox's icon. I tried using your solution also but was unable to find the specific preference to modify. I found the page of preferences which may be modified but I could not find the one I need. I found a list of descriptions of the preferences at http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_:_FAQs_:_About:config_Entries
but I could not find the specific preference which I need.
By the way, to enable loading the php module, one uncomments a line of code by deleting the initial "#" character, and one does that by pressing control key and "P" key while the cursor is over the "#" character.
Also by the way, when I use Firefox or Safari to look at the Apache web directory in which my files are, the files are listed case sensitively. For example, the files are listed: Ace, Zygote, bar. This is because lower case follows upper case. THis annoys me. I prefer case insensitive listing. When I llok directly athe directory without using a browser, the files are listed case insensitively. For example, they are listed: Ace, bar, Zygote. I guess taht Apache is doing this. -
Variants of web templates in the portal
Hello,
We launch our BI web templates via iViews in the portal. Some users
have saved their personal variants in the portal, but after the version
of the web template has changed, they do not access their variants any
more.
Are the variants in the portal linked to the version of the web
template ? How is it possible to retrieve the variants ?
Thank you in advanceDanny,
Logon to the BI system and go to transaction SE37 and execute RSBB_URL_PREFIX_GET to get the portnumber, try applying this and test your iview again.
If this does not resolve the issue I suggest you to refer to SAP Note 937697 - Usage of SAP NetWeaver BI Diagnostics & Support Desk Tool, it is a pretty simple tool and helps in resolving most issues with regards to BI Portal integration.
Cheers!

Scheduling web intelligence reports from SAP EP Portal : Server Side Trust
Hello,
We have set-up SSO between SAP EP 701, SAP BI 701 and Business Object XI 3.1 to allow users to access reports without having to sign-on again as explained here :
/people/ingo.hilgefort/blog/2008/09/19/businessobjects-and-sap--configure-sap-authentication
But, we have recently been contacted by some users because when scheduling Webi Report from a link within the portal they have the following errors :
u201CA database error occured. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server System received an expired SSO ticket. (WIS 10901) u201D
The user told us that he doesn't encounter the error when :
Login in directly to the BO Infoview (without SSO from the SAP Enterprise Portal.)
The first Webi scheduling is succesful from the portal (I suppose because the portal token is still valid)
I understand that we also have to configure the Server Side Trust between BO Enterprise server and the SAP BI7 backend as explained here , but I do not really understand its purpose
https://websmp106.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700001646962008E/XI3-1_BIP_SAP_INSTALL_EN.pdf
I've found a similar discussions here ;
Issue with SAP Single Sign-On and Scheduling Reports
I still have some questions :
If we configure the Server Side Trust between BO Enterprise server and the SAP BI7 backend .
The Portal Logon ticket will remain an issue at some point of time , does it mean tha the WeBi report job sheduling should not be perfromed from the SAP EP Portal ?
We haven't configured the Server Side Trust , yet the users told us that they are able to schedule webi report directly from the BO Infoview ? How is it posible ?
Thank you in advance for your help.
Regards.Thank you Mr Hilgefort for your detailled explanations.
I now have to provide some explanations to my managers, and to be honest , there are still some points that
are unclear to me, and it would be extremely helpful if could confirm (or not) the follwoing points.
When scheduing Webi report from the sap portal, we're getting SSO errors.
SAP provide the follwoing note explaining how to extend the validity of the J2EE token (Portal token), but this is not a long term solution, at certain point of time the ticket will expire. Webi shceduling should not be perfromed from the Portal.
Sap note 1352127 - Scheduled Webi report fails with: A database error occurred. The database error text is: Unable to connect to SAP BW server System received an expired SSO ticket
Webi Scheduling should be performed from BO Infoview. SNC should be configured between BO server and SAP BI7.0 backend.
We should Configure Server SNC as explained in the BusinessObjects XI Integration for SAP Solutions Installation and Administration Guide at Chapter "Configuring SAP for server-side trust". (1341043)
The SAP Portal is not involved here and is not an option even with the configuration of SNC/Server side trust.
thank you for your patience.
Best Regards. -
MacBook Air intermittently has issues connecting to websites when wireless shows connected to the internet. The pages show that I am offline, but I can ping Google DNS. Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone have no issue displaying the same web pages. How do I solve this issue?
Go step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.
Start up in Safe Mode.
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204
2. Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
3. Deselect Proxies if selected.
System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.
Click "OK" then "Apply”. -

I am trying to use the "App Store" on my Macbook Pro but it will not allow me to open the program. It automatically says, "App Store has closed unexpectedly." Whenever I tell it to reopen, the exact same messege pops up. My computer has all of the latest updates from Apple.
I tried deleting the program then running the software update to try to get the program again but it did not work. Where can I manual download the actual app store program, or fix the one that I have.
Thanks in advance.

Possible to deploy Dist Auth in the same web container with Policy Agent?
I have a client who has limited hardware resources and wants to deploy the distributed authentication UI in the same web container as the policy agent. Has anyone successfully done this?
I'm sure it's possible just make sure the DAUI context (e.g. /distAuth) in the agent's configuration for the web server is in the not enforced list properties for the agent.
However, it's so easy just to put an Apache HTTP server/tomcat and run daui, then setup another web server (Sun, Apache, etc.) with an agent or vice versa and you don't have to worry about the agent clobbering DAUI. -
Problems with multiple Domains open in same web browser?
Here is the problem.
I login to one domain and then open a new webpage (same browser) and login
to a 2nd domain. I can then navigate in both domains in each web page.
However, when I logout of one, it logs me out of both and which ever one
that I logged out of is the logout/login page that I see for both web pages.
The same thing happens if I try to login to 2 different domains at the same
time. One will override the other and I end up with the same domain open in
both browsers.
I am pretty sure that this has to do with the cookie, since it is probably
using the same one for both and then getting confused. Does anyone know how
to fix this?

When a user logs in a random session id is generated, and then once he
authenticates the session id is made valid and is added into the session hash
table.
So to answer your question you can do what your trying to do if you are using
two browsers but in the current architecture and the way sessions are handled it
is not possible if your using just one browser ..
iWS Sp8 is not certified to run with portal and the web server that is shipped
with should not be updated seperately, in the past doing that has broken portal

Flex 1.5 and 2 application in same web context
Has anyone been able to deploy both a Flex 1.5 and Flex 2
application (using FDS2) in the same web context? Or is this not
possible?
Thanks,
DarcyPlease remember that importing MPEG-2 video files has a hidden Gotcha included.
What might not need to be transcoded again in one project may well need to be retranscoded in another one, as it is going to depend on how full the project is.
To try & be more specific, imagine this situation:
Project 1:
Import a 90 minute MPEG-2 file encoded with a bitrate of 6Mb/sec.
This would not need to be re transcoded as long as the Audio is going to be Dolby Digital. If you want PCM, then it would have to be retranscoded.
Project 2:
Same Video file at the same bitrate.
Additional clip around 15 minutes long also.
The first clip will have to be retranscoded, as it's existing bitrate is too high to fit onto a single layer disc.
Do you see what I'm getting at?
If an MPEG file has to be retranscoded, you are getting a dreadful quality drop at this point, as you must recompress an already heavily compressed file.
Best solution is to use AVI wherever possible, and if you must use MPEG video, make very certain that the bitrate is correct, and will not need to be re transcoded.
Bottom Line:
The same files in the same projects with the same assets in both 1.x and 2.0 will be treated in the same way. If one does not need to be retranscoded, neither will the other one.
(Unless you have set a low limit on the default "maximum bitrate" preference. Setting a maximum of 7Mb/sec there, and importing an MPEG encoded at 7.5Mb/sec will naturally retranscode the file.) -

Major web service providers like Yahoo! experience 'downtime' now and then, sometimes planned, sometimes unplanned.
During the time you posted your question (about 18 hours before I post this message with the chart) Yahoo was 'down' as indicated by end-user reports, and illustrated by the colorful bands in the chart below.
