WD Live Hub bedienen, auch wenn er im Keller steht!?!?

Bisher hatte ich den Hub direkt mittels HDMI Kabel am TV, da konnte ich dann alle Formate abspielen und auch in den Einstellungen z.B. Software Updates vornehmen. Nun habe ich den Hub in den Keller an das 1 GB Netzwerk gehängt, damit er sogesehen als silent Medienserver agiert. Wenn ich aber jetzt mit dem TV Filme über Netzwerk vom Hub streame, dann werden nicht mehr alle Formate abgespielt. Und wie komm ich jettzt in das EInstellungsmenü? Kann ich den Hub noch nicht mal über den PC konfigurieren? Außerdem geht er nach einiger Zeit nicht-Nutzung in den Schlafmodus und erst wenn ich mit der Fernbedienung in den Keller renne und anschalte ist er wieder verfügbar. Ist das normal? Lässt er sich nicht übers Netz aufwecken? Danke für HilfeGrüße

du kannst den HUB (und auch andere WD-geräte) nicht vom PC aus konfigurieren. es gibt zwar im web-interface eine virtuelle fernbedienung, die dir aber nix nützt, wenn du nicht siehst, was er gerade macht - der TV muss dazu an sein. ebenso bei der WDTV app - kannst du theoretisch auch mit dem handy im anderen stockwerk bedienen, aber wenn du nix siehst.... als der HUB per HDMI am TV angeschlossen war und du firmware updates vornehmen konntest, dann war der HUB doch auch schon im netzwerk unterwegs oder hast du die updates per usb gemacht? warum hast du ihn dann nicht da gelassen, er funxt auch von dort aus als medienserver? nur als idee. kann ja sein, dass du andere motive hattest ;-) dass der HUB in den schlafmodus wechselt, muss wohl in den einstellungen des routers liegen. das kenne ich so überhaupt nicht. meiner ist mindestens immer im standby (schlafmodus??) und funktioniert trotzdem weiter als medienserver.

Can't copy files to my WD TV Live Hub

My system:
- iMac 2010 - 21 inches (OS X 10.6.5)
- Netgear Router
- WD TV Live Hub connected to my network wirelessly, with a Netgear USB dongle
The MAC is connected to the router.
I can't copy videos from my Mac to the TV Live HUB hard drive. I can see the TV Live HUB but when I try to drag files into it, it does not let me do it. I have tried installing MACFuse to see if I could get writing permissions but it didn't work. I have also tried using NTFSMac, but no go.
Can someone pls help me copying videos from my MAC to the LIVE Hub withouf having to move them to another network drive and go from there?

Time to move on from WD TV Live Hub.

I love my WD TV Live Hub or at least what it could be. But a few things continually block the experience.-Slow Network Access. 100 Mbit is sooo slow when copying HD media files to the unit. Average of 8MBps.-Reboots and Re-indexing sometimes when you go to use it. Usually when your not in the mood for the elongated wait.-Generally slow in media menus and apps. (iView in Australia is an example) If WD produced a "new" high speed(processor and ethernet) high quality unit with 2-4TB storage and 4k support. Apps support (Netflix, iView etc) just like the Live-hub. I'd buy it in a flash!. Be happy to spend $300-$400 for something like that. But it seems they are re-coiling from this market space. In any case, my question to all and the experts in the forum: What's out there that's good? There is sooo much 5h1t on the market it's impossible to even know where to start. What's a quality high speed product with quality firmware support in a new package that can store my existing collection(hord) and be a fast upgrade from where this excelent WDTV Live Hub unit left off? Not Windows Media Centre or Apple TV please.

There are several directions in which to go. Just like anything else, no one way is the wrong way. It is a matter of what do you want, which you have pretty much stated above. Here are some suggestions ALL of which would pretty much involve using Kodi and/or Emby. Take the hard drive out of the Hub, very simple to do. Put it in a PC or connect it to your network. What you want to end up with is 1TB of shared storage and that's about the best you can do with the Hub when you quit using it. Zotac Zboxes are very reasonable and run Windows or can run open elec or a flavor of Linux. Most other mini PCs can do this as well. But Zotac Zbox B1320-U-W2 is my choice because I am most familiar with Windows OS and I can get things done so I can spend more time watching my movies than I do learning a new OS. Oh, and Windows Media Center is NOT even needed or included with the pre-installed Windows 8.1 With Bing. It just is not needed. Android TV boxes are plentifull and right now Nvidia's Shield seems to be the Hot lick. There are tons of these devices available so read, read and read some more about them before you make a decision. It is VERY easy to get one that is a total peice of garbage. all set up on iMac seems to be ok but mediaplayer always giving: "Unable to connect to the selected source. Please make sure the selected source is active and available for sharing"

Compatible HD Export for Western Digital Live Hub

Need to Export 720 x1280 HDV Clips for Large Format (Life Size) Signage. Just purchased WD TV Live Hub which I thought would work well as an HD Digital player connected via HDMI to an HD projector. Was working in Pro Res for highest quality but WDTV says incompatible. Have tried numerous compressor settings with no luck - except MPEG4 (which did wok but the quality was way to low.). Need High quality life size image. Western Digital says quicktime, AVC and .mov are compatible. Anybody know a compressor setting that will work and still give me the 720 x 1280 HD quality I need?
If not, does anyone know of a digital player that will output quicktime HD files? Thanks so much.

If .mov files are compatible, why not just stay with HDV…or try an H.264 setting @ about 12 Mbps?

Turn unused Live Hub into a NAS?

Hi, I have a largely unsused WDTV Live Hub a am using an raspberry pi as my main media player these days. I'd like to turn the Live Hub into a NAS of sorts - it already mounts itslef as a drive on the network but the problem is it doesn't play well with OSX and copying files often fails - seem to be a common issue with newer OSX versions. Anyone have any ideas for running something else on it ie maybe linux version or something other than the custom firmware?

I pulled the drive out of mine and put it in a Zotac Zbox and then shared it. Kodi makes good use of it this way.... Maybe you could do something similar....

Before I finally throw mine out, is there any reason to keep a WDTV Live Hub?

I just found my old WDTV Live Hub in the back of the closet. t hasn't gotten a firmware update in 2 years. It's missing too many of the online services that I use every day, like Amazon. I pulled the hard drive and installed it in my desktop machine about a year. It was a great little gadget that was probably ahead of its time--and I still love the UI--but I think it's time to recycle my WDTV Live Hub, but before I do, is there anything I can do with it? I have a Roku, a Chromecast and a Raspberry Pi 2 with Plex. (These are on different TVs throughout the house.) I know you can't put XBMC (sorry, Kodi) on a Hub. There is alternative firmware for some WDTV boxes, but I can't find anything one that works on a Hub. I tried selling the Hub on eBay (before I pulled the hard drive), but I couldn't find any takers. Is there anything I can do with the Hub that I can't do with a Roku or a Chromecast or a Raspberry Pi just as well if not easier? If nothing else, is there a trick to saving the default background image? The Live Hub really does have the best UI of any streaming device I've tried, and I'd love to reuse that image somehow, maybe as a background for Kodi. Heck, are there any parts, other than the hard drive, that I can recycle and use on other projects? I don't like the idea of pitching any gadget if there's still some life left in it.

Es geht wärend des Betriebes einfach aus.
Wenn ich es wieder einschalte kommt der Apfel, aber es geht wieder aus.
Wenn ich es an das Ladekabel anschließe startet es und zeich im Schnitt zwischen 32 und 39% Ladekapazität an.
Wenn ich das Ladekabel abziehe kann ich wieder normal arbeiten bis der Absturz oder das Abschalten wieder auftritt.
Es spiel dabei keine Rolle ob ich gerade telefoniere, eine APP bediene, Mails arufe usw.
Habe es schon auf den Auslieferungszustand zurückgestzt und neu installiert aber der Fehler tritt immer wieder auf.
Was kann ich noch tun?

Wie mein Vorredner schon richtig anmerkte, um den komplexen Workflow den ihr braucht, realisieren zu können werdet ihr mit Captivate allein nicht glücklich werden. Hier ist mindestens die Production Premium Suite, besser aber die Master Collection von Adobe angesagt.
Und auch richtig: Captivate ist sicher eines der "schwächsten" Adobe Produkte aus dem aktuellen Produktzyklus. Hier gibt es spezialisierte Programme von anderen Anbietern die zum Beispiel im BEreich Screencapturing (wenn das Bestandteil der Tutorials) wesentlich bessere Dienste leisten.

Hallo, Mein iPad zeigt ein fast leeres Accu, lässt sich jedoch nicht laden. Ich habe 2 verschiedene Original 10W Ladegeräte ausprobiert - habe es auch Tage lang eingesteckt gelassen und nichts, das Ding reagiert einfach nicht mehr - es macht auch kein Geräusch beim einstecken und lässt sich auch nicht per USB mit dem PC verbinden - wird also bei iTunes gar nicht angezeigt. Es zeigt am Display die fast leere Batterie mit dem kleinen roten Balken und nebendran einen weißen Stecker (früher hat es diesen weißen Stecker nie gezeigt, immer nur die Batterie mit dem roten Balken). Was soll ich damit jetzt tun?
Ich habe auch schon ausprobiert irgendwie ein Support vom Apple zu bekommen, da das Gerät noch in der Garantie ist, aber anscheinend stelle ich mich blöd an - ich komme bei apple nicht weiter......ich finde einfach nicht raus wie ich überhaupt vorgehen soll um eine Garantieleistung zu bekommen......ich sitze hier schon seit Tagen und immer wenn ich denke: "ja - jetzt komme ich wieter" - wie z.B. wenn ich endlich den Button ''online suport beantragen'' gefunden habe ........ist es nach dem nächsten klick wieder vorbei- denn es bezieht sich nur auf nicht Garantie Reparaturen ...also wieder nichts :-(
Was soll ich machen, das das iPad wieder irgendwas macht, oder wie komme ich bei Apple weiter dass ich eine Garantiereparatur veranlassen kann. Apple store ist leider nicht in der Nähe - der Nächste ist über 50 km. :-(

Alles in ITunes schein ordentlich zu funktionieren.
Nur das Update geht nicht. Die Update msi-Datei wird korrekt geladen.
Wenn die Datei gestartet werden soll funktioniert es nicht.
Auch ein kompletter Download von Itunes und dann der versuch einer Neuinstallation führt zu dem gleichen Ergebnis.

Generate the error message again. While the error message box is open, hold down the Alt key and hit the PrtSc key. Paste the screenshot into an image file (using a program like Paint), and save the file.
Start a reply here and click the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window. Click "Choose file", browse to the image file, select the file and click "Open". Now click "Insert file" to insert the screenshot into the reply.
