WD My Book 2T Model WDBF JK0020HBK-NESN compatibility with Mac OS 10.5.8
Apparently WD Tech Support declines to answer the following query. Does anyone know the answer? Thanks I've discovered that the new My Book 4T drives that I'd planned to used with my iMac running OS 10.5.8 are not compatible with that OS. I've got My Book 2T drives Model WDBF JK0020HBK-NESN conncect to a Windows 7 machine. Are those drives compatible with my 10.5.8. iMac? If so, I'll connect them to the iMac and the new 4T drives to the Windows machine. Many thanks, Martin White

Currently, this unit is advertise as compatible with Mac OS X 10.6.5 or later (requires reformatting) Anything else than that will be listed as possible.
I haven't try using a my book on a 10.5.8 system. Let's see if any of the users can share some info about that

i have mac book 2008 model 3,1 and for some reason it is letting me connect to an air port and wifi but its not letting me get online access from safari or itunes? every time i click the safari it tells me "The application Safari quit unexpectedly" every time i click relanch it tells me the same thing any help?????

I am having trouble getting my My Mac Book Pro 15" Retina to wake up with an Apple Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse while Docked in a Hengedock vertical docking station. The Keyboard and mouse work great with the laptop lid open but when closed in the docking station the bluetooth signal does not seem to transmit. Is there a setting that can be changed to allow an Bluetooth keyboard and mouse to wake the computer while docked?

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test. -

It will help us diagnose your problem to know the exact model, size, year built, RAM installed and OS you're running.
But basically your system can't find the boot disk. Usually this is a symptom of a dead/dying/corrupted hard drive;

I am debating between the 13in 2.9ghz mac book pro or the 13in 2.5 ghz mac book pro with all the same specs bbut for me i am trying to see which one for the money is better becuase the 2.5 will run me 100-200 dollars less than the other
Only you can make that determination. All things being equal the 2.5 GHz model is slower.

I have purchased the last Creative Suite available on disk. It will load on my old Mac Book Pro. I just bought a new Mac Book Pro and just realized there is no place to put a disk. Is there any way to load the programs to my new computer?
Buy an external optical drive such as the Apple USB SuperDrive that is made specifically for that model.
Use the optical drive of your old MBP to clone the DVDs to USB flash drives, then install from the flash drives.
Connect both computers to your local network and then share the optical drive to install the software. -
i had to reboot my laptop, so reloaded itunes sofware, im now finding that when i'm synching my Iphone to synch audio books ive downloaded, , it says its synched with another itunes library ( my music) do i want to erase this iphone and lsynch with this iphone library, the music percentage at the bottom reduces to 0% in prep to erase.

Leetry a new/fresh apple brand cable and make sure it is the only usb cable in use. this worked for me, i noticed i had no problem with a lighting cable. i did a restore from scratch and from backup and it did not help me...and if you cant sync than you wont be able to get anything but apps back after the restore

IPhoto 08 with Mac OSX 10.5.8 will not connect when attempting to "buy" a book.
The title pretty much explains my problem. I've created and purchased books from my iPhoto in the past with no problems but it's been a year or more since the last one. I created a book, did all the layout etc. and when I click "buy book" it has a pop-up that says "connecting" but then nothing happens. It just continues to have the "connecting" popup with blue bars moving as if it's working. I've left it "connecting" for a good 10-15 min with no change. All my software is updated.
Please show me the light.You don't. Since you have an Intel Mac, buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD from the online Apple Store.

I have been working on a book and have 418 photos already in my book. All of a sudden I cannot access the book module and clicking on the multiple view, spread view, or single view does not take me back to the book I have been working on. I can no longer see my book although I still see the collection with 418 photos under collections. What I do see is a blank template for a new book and I can't find the unfinished book I started with 418 photos. It is like the new empty template is somehow covering it up. How do I get back to the book I have been working on?
Is it possible you mistakenly clicked on a [Clear Layout] button?
But a great hint is- Always click on the [Create a Saved Book] button, early in your new book design.
Then you have a permanent link to the book in the Collections panel. (In addition to the standard collection of your selected images)
Note: a Book Collection shows an icon that looks like a book.
Every time you come back to edit the book, open the Book Module by clicking on the white arrow that appears on the end of your Book Collection title. (The title as saved)
Re-opening a book without using the "Saved Book" option can have unpredictable results.
A "Book" Collection is like a "Smart Collection" because anything you do to the book design, change pages, change images, etc, is automatically updated in the Saved Book collection.
