WD My Passport Ulta and WD Cloud (Back up)

I have got a MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Mid 2014).Recently, my WD 'My Passport' stopped working and I lost 120GB of documents. I am now very cautious about backing up my things. I purchased a WD 'My Passport Ulta' straight away in order to start backing up everything through Apple's Time Machine service. However now, I have found I have filled all the storage available on my Macbook, and the time machine is working well with 866GB left of the 1TB.What do I do about getting more storage for my Macbook Pro? I have looked into the SDcards (up to 256GB), I have also looked into the Nifty Cards (up to 128GB). However.. I have recently seen the Personal WD Cloud (up to 2TB) for only £100 which is a lot cheaper than both other options and seems amazing with it being accessable anywhere. Yet, I was thinking about my WD My Passport Ultra back up... I would still like to use it to back up my stuff. Is it possible to store everything on the Cloud but still have my Passport back up its contents? Or does it only back up the conents on my Macbook Pro. Very confused and would like to get it all sorted and easy to manage as I start University in September. I am studying Graphic Design and LOVE my music, hense the need for lots of storage. Thank you for any help. Going into Apple store today to see what they suggest.

How did you delete the Note? If you did a "select all" and "cut", open the Note and shake your iPhone to undo the cut action.

iOS devices do backup automatically to iCloud providing:
iCloud Backup is turned on
It has a Wi-Fi connection
It is connected to a power source
The screen is off
5GB is plenty of storage for me to backup to iCloud automatically.
I have a 64GB iPhone & a 128GB iPad both backing up to the same iCloud account and I still have nearly 2GB free.
This is mainly because media is not backed up and Photo Stream & iTunes purchases do not count against your iCloud storage.
Here’s what iCloud backs up:
Purchase history for music, movies, TV shows, apps, and booksYour iCloud backup includes information about the content you have purchased, but not the purchased content itself. When you restore from an iCloud backup, your purchased content is automatically downloaded from the iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store. I would like to not use the i cloud and just go back to the way my phone was before

I recently upgraded to the 6.1.3 OS and then proceeded to lose all of my contacts. My fault for not backing up!! But, I also ended up having the i cloud and I really don't want it. I don't need any more complications. I would like to delete the icloud from my phone and just go back to what I had before. I have backed up now but the contacts are lost forever. But, i cloud is just one more thing to learn, worry about, eventually pay for etc. and it is not important to me. I don't do movies or music. Just use the phone for calls and email.

You don't 'pay' for iCloud, unless you voluntarily upgrade from the free 5GB of storage.
Also, having iCloud automatic backup on, with Contacts set to 'On', means that your Contacts will backup to the iCloud... which means if you lost them off of your phone, you could retrienve them.
Read this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4859 and then decide if it's right for you. There are ways to back up your data to prevent accidental loss. Use them.

New here, trying to restore my i phone 5 to newly refurbished i phone 5 and couldn't do it w/ wizard. old phone had OS-7 new came with OS-6... wouldn't let me restore from cloud without same operating system.
Installed os-7 only option then was "new device" which closed wizard and welcomed me to new phone.
on settings I see my old i phone in cloud
since I've added new contacts, pics.... (got it Christmas eve)
I'm guessing somehow I need to save pics to computer;
backup contacts etc to new device
restore old i phone back up then somehow get contacts and pics only back on new device...
am i on right track or is there an easier/better way?
don't know how to do last step - w/o replacing majority of contacts

Simple process. If an iPhone go to the Apple Store and not Verizon
the phone from Verizon will be a refurbished device and not new unless under the 14 day worry free guarantee

Not a big issue : Just delete the old backups and if the backup option turns off o your current device, then just turn it on again.

This means the iPhone has not been connected or synced with your computer since the passcode lock was enabled on the iPhone and too late now.

Connect your iPhone to Computer. On iTunes left Pane, under "Devices" right mouse click iPhone and select "Restore from Backup..." then select one of the three backup (Date and Time)

How old was this backup? It sounds like it was at least several weeks old.
You can look directly in the TM backup for the music.
1. Connect to the external HDD the backup is kept on.
2. Open a Finder window and select the backup drive in the left hand panel. Double click into the folders until you see a list of folders with dates.
These are the incremental backups. You can start at the top or the bottom of the list but I suggest you double Latest/<HDD Name>/Users/<Account Name>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music. From this location you can start looking for the "missing" music. When/if you find it you can simply drag-n-drop to ~/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/Music on the internal HDD.
If the music is actually not in the backups (for whatever reason) then you've got a problem.
You can download the uploaded files from the cloud by deleting the affected tracks from the iTunes library (but not the cloud!), highlighting multiple tracks at once, right-clicking and choosing "download."

My computer HDD did not crash only my external drive with the music files. I have not had to reinstall iTunes software. The iTunes libarary is still complete and shows the complete list of music. I have also ran Update iTunes Match and all of the music is on the cloud.
I cannot play the music from iTunes that is on the cloud, however the music I purchased from iTunes did download and it will plan from my computer.
The matched or uploaded music is what will not download and I can't find a command that allows me to download from Match.
Sorry if I'm not being very clear, however I do really appreciate your help and suggestions.

Currently you can only re-download music purchases in the US, it hasn't been rolled out to the rest of the world yet. Have you not got a backup of your purchases on external or flash drives or CDs/DVDs ? If so then you can copy that back onto your computer and add them to iTunes.
