WD Passport 1TB unmounts itself all the time

I get this once so often: "The disk was not ejected properly. If possible, always eject a disk before unplugging it or turning it off."
I have done the following (to debug/fix) and it stills ejects itself.
- Upgraded OSX to latest version
- Upgraded WD Passport to the latest firmware
- Installed WD Drive Utilities and set the physically sleeper to never
- Unchecked "Put hard disks to sleep when possible"
- Computer sleep set to "Never"
- Checked health status OK when drive is connected (not really an issue since I know the disk works fine with PC/Windows)
About my drive
- External WD Passport 1TB USB 2.0/3.0 - uses USB as power supply
- Worked like a charm for several months on my prior setup (PC/Windows)
- NTFS drive
About my system
- Running iMac (late 2012) w/ latest OSX
- Tuxera NTFS for read/write to my NTFS drive
- Parallels (uses bootcamp partition) running on the side - usually writes data to the disk.
My disk could be up and running for 30 minutes to a couple of hours.
I cant just unplug and replug the disk whenever unmounted - I have to wait for at least 15 minutes or so.
This is really terrible - I'm a new Mac user and this is a deal breaker for me. I'm considering using my expensive iMac for Windows only - just to make my hardware work...

I've seen that post earlier but it didnt help me. I wish I had installed the WD APP. Unfortunely, I haven't. Don't know how to install it even.
The tools I've installed and tested for my WD drive got installed after the unmounting error began, so it can't be that causing the trouble.
Now my drive just got unmounted by itself again, so I'll have to wait half an hour to hook it up again - then I will look for a WD app on the drive itself - but I doubt I find any. (To install it, then maybe uninstall it...?).
Open for any suggestions... - except formatting my two day old iMac.

Automator workflow launches itself all the time - even after being trashed!

I created a while back a automator workflow that I would use to crop images (in order to use them as avatars online). It didn't work so well so I trashed it.
My problem is that now, whenever I save a .pdf file or a .doc file, said workflow will launch itself. Of course, my computer cannot find it (it is long gone). I don't know how I can stop my computer from remembering it. Obviously I haven't trashed it completely. What can I do? It is starting to get really annoying.

I'm not a power user when it comes to Automator, so I might sound a little silly with my explanations. Also, I might not remember it all perfectly.
I'm pretty sure I trashed the .app I created. And by trashing I mean putting it in the trash and emptying the trash. When I discovered it was still launching itself, I used Spotlight to locate another file (I think it was in the library) that sported the same name but with a different extension (not sure what it was, but the icon was a blank page). I trashed it the same way, but it didn't do the trick.
To sum it up I trashed all the files that had the name of that stupid workflow and it is still out there.

Brand new iPod touch restarts itself all the time

Hello, my dad just came home from Japan, with a brand new iPod touch.
I managed to register it in iTunes, but when i updated the firmware i got an error message. I tried again and i think that i succeed. Then i started to sync music and the rest of the stuff. The syncing stopped after a minute, and when i tried to navigate on my iPod i realised that the touch screen didn't respond. So after several attempts, i made a hard reset.
But now, the iPod touch restarts itself. The Apple logo comes up, and then the screen turns off in a dramatical way, and then the Apple logo comes up again. If i hard reset my device again, the process continous.
I sometimes the iPod shows the "charge battery" screen, and then I can charge the battery. BUT after 5 minutes, the iPod touch starts restarting itself again. :S
Does anyone have a solution to this? Extremely strange.

I suspect you have a hardware problem. Probably a non-functioning battery (over or under) and causing a hardware reset. Bring it to an Apple Store for replacement.

My macbook wakes up from sleep by itself all the time.

When the lid is open and it´s been inactive for some time it wakes up and then goes off by itself according to my settings in power and battery.
Also when I close the lid it doesn´t stop trying it makes noise over and over again.
All my settings are ok I think.
Does anyone have the same problem?

Like most Macs of the past 10 years, you don't turn it on with a mechanical switch. You turn it on with an electronic switch. When the machine is "off," it isn't really off. It's waiting for the proper electrical signal to begin the startup sequence. WDA iview keeps reloading itself all the time

Hi experts,
I have a problem with WDA iview, that in portal (NW 7.0) keeps reloading itself time and time again not getting anything ready.
If I run the same WDA application directly from backend in SE80 (ECC 6.0), there is no problem.

Hello Vesa,
From what it sounds, there is something that triggers the refresh of the page that contains this iView, however you have to supply more details about the issue.
In order to better understand the issue, please record an http watch trace and check if there is a repeated request to the DSM terminator component.
If so, check who is the referrer of that request.
From that point on we can continue.

Airport With 2 x 1TB Drives Dropping all the time

The Setup is as follows.
Wall>Linksys router>LAN to Airport Extreme>Belkin Mac Mini USB Hub> 2 x 1TB Lacie Disks
Problem : My airport disks keep on disconnecting themselves and the airport keeps on dropping out

ok the second post down sounds like it could be relaly helpful - but im no whizz and im unsure what it means, never mind setting it up. Any further advice or understanding would be greatly appreciated.

Some times the whole network (my internet inc) goes down and other times it is just the two drives which fail to be seen. My network is set up to the std 128mb.

My Macbook is rebooting itself all the time randomly! - Help!

My Macbook is randomally rebooting itself (seems like it's juicing memory like it was a hot day). although I have 3 things opened (firefox, word, powerpoint) it seems like it's too much for it.
It's a Macbook 13"- Aluminum from late 2008
Processor 2 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB

Any ideas what's causing it and how can I fix things myself if I can???

Yes, Andy is right, I overlooked that: you MUST use absolute correct specs for Apple macbooks, and your 1333MHz is not the right spec. Luckily 2x4GB 1066Mhz is very cheap, change the modules. Use Crucial (they have a configurator) or OWC.

FW800 GTech drive as Time Machine Back up - Leave on all the time?

My GTech Q FW800 external drive is my time machine back up - Can I leave this on all the time and boot up and power down my iMac or do I need to "Unmount" it all the time?

The "fix" is to get the phone repaired. There's no magic solution for a broken phone.
Bring your phone ant $149 to Apple for an out of warranty replacement, or find a 3rd party repair shop near you.

Machine turns itself on all the time

Hi - Ive installed Leopard on 2 of our machines - the iMac, which is (mostly) okay after the transition, and my partner's Mac Mini. The Mini turns itself on every day despite the fact that none of the schedule options are set. It is on the network, although the setting to "wake" for admin is not set. (Im not sure what time it turns on - it's always already on by the time I open the office at 8.30 am). Im now way too put off Leopard to install it on my iBook - apart from the millions of bugs and glitches Leopard has, making my iBook Tiger my only stable machine, I really cant afford to have a charged laptop turning itself on all the time!
Any ideas?

You might try resetting the PRAM and power management unit of the computer. To reset the PRAM, hold down opt-cmd-P-R on boot until the thing chimes twice, then release the keys and let it boot normally. To reset the power management unit on the Mac Mini, follow the instructions on this page: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300574
