Wd Quick View and Windows 10

I use a My Book LIve Duo and the WD Quick View app sat on my toolbar, It gave me easy acces to my NAS. Since changing to Windows 10 (from 8.1), the app is still there but only gives an exit option and a WD logo info thing, with no access to my NAS. I've tried reloading but to no avail. Any one else have the same problem (or solved it!)?

The WD quick view is not yet compatible with Windows 10, you can see the supported operating systems on this link.
However, have you tried running the application in compatibility mode?

Quick view and preview problems

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I've experienced consistent problems with quick view and the preview image on column view. I always browse the Finder in column view, so for instance, if I were to browse through a folder of photos, instead of seeing a thumbnail image in the far right column, there is blank white space. If I resize the window, the thumbnail appears. Also, if I were to hit the space bar for quick view, only a white image will appear. Closing it and reopening it will correct the problem. This happens every time. The problem started when upgrading to OS X 10.8 from 10.6.8, and it persists after the 10.8.1 update. Computer is an early 2009 iMac, 2.93 GHz, GT 120 video card. Anyone seen something similar? I haven't been able to find anyone else with the problem.

I have the exact same problem and it's frustrating. I thought it was only when I double-clicked an attachment jpeg from Entourage, but it happens with all images from any source.
I've removed the plist on several occasions too, and it works fine for a while. I can't pin down when it decides to stop working again, but it does after a few image views.
It's only happened since the Snow Leopard installation. I'm up to date with all Apple updates.

Hi Rajeev,
A window is a place for displaying your views. Your view is not available to the outside world. View is available only to your component. However, your window is an interface view, which can be displayed in other components.
A view contains your UI elements. It has a layout (a window does not). A window contains embedded views.
In the window, you can define how navigation between views takes place (by creating navigation links).

Final view and window relation?

I am checking a existing custom webdynpro component in the system (ADS is not up, hence am unable to play around with it!), the views and window is,
INITIAL_VIEW
DISPLAY_OUTPUT_VIEW
MY_WINDOW, the inbound & outbound plugs are defined as,

Pls. let me know , 1) We are displaying our data output in the DISPLAY_OUTPUT_VIEW, which means in the MY_WINDOW, so, then, why do we need the navigation from my_window to display_output_view as shown in the (2)? display_output_view is nothing but my_window right?
2) And I also saw some good amount of custom coding in the Event Handler of u2019HANDLEFROM_WINDOWu2019, at what point this code triggers?
3) I saw an Inbound plug for MY_WINDOW with the name of DEFAULT, when this will trigger?

For your third question

Just double click on the Webdynpro application(WDA) , the interface view specified is your window and plug name specified is same as the one you found in window.
When you start a WDA ,it triggers a window through the plug default and the window will have a view as default and that particular view will be shown.
For your First question
You need a navigation from initial view to display output view and may be viseversa . A navigation plug is just a relation.It will be triggered from your code(fire_plug).
For your second question
You have a event Handlefromwindow ,so there should be a Plug From Window(I guess there are two windows,each view in each window )..and when the navigation is coming to current window handlefromwindow triggers.keep break point and look.
Provide more information , if you have further doubts.

Unable to view microsoft office files (2011) with quick view and cover flow

I am unable to view office for mac 2011 files in quick view or cover flow. All I see is the generic icon and not the preview. I've searched a number of forums but haven't found a solution.

Yea, I did do a Time Machine restore not too long ago. Perhaps that was the cause. In any case, I went by the apple store day before yesterday to see if they could help me (I use quick look a lot!), and the tech's opinion was the my whole system was running slow and buggy, so he suggested to go ahead and spend the time doing a clean install of the OS. I did this yesterday... quick look for office docs is back, and my system is soooooo much faster and problem free now. Looking back, the ability of OS X to reinstall without erasing the boot disc is a blessing and curse. I upgraded instead of cleanly reinstalling when I got Snow Leopord, and recently did a time machine restore when I was having some problems. With windows, I was doing a clean reinstall at least once a year. Perhaps doing it once every two years or so is a good idea for mac. The biggest headache is importing all my old mailboxes into mail, and sorting through the duplicates that get created.

Crystal Report Viewer and Windows Vista

We are using RDC methodology for launching the crystal reports in the web using ASP.
The web server operating system is Windows 2003, Crystal Reports XI is installed in it. Report is not launching in only one client machine. For all the other client machines reports are launching perfectly. The problem is blank white activex control is displayed. I tried to register the crystal reports viewer (ActiveXViewer.cab available in the crystal installation folder) deliverables in the client machine but after installing the deliverables same problem persists.
When I click on the Crystal Report viewer Internet Explorer Exception occurs

First thing to do is upgrade to [CR XI R2 SP4 full build|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100011802732008E/crxir2_sp4_full_build.exe]. Then get up to Service Pack 6 and you should not have problems with Vista.
CR XI R1 will not and has never been tested on that OS.
If you do not want to upgrade though use Process Monitor to watch for Access Denied errors. Also run IE in Compatibility mode.
Likely what is happening is your test PC doesn't have rights to install ActiveX controls.

Crystal Report Viewer and Windows 7 Enterprise

Hi,
We are using RDC methodology for launching the crystal reports in the web using ASP.
The web server operating server is Windows 2003, Crystal Reports XI Release 2 is installed in it. Activex Viewer is downloading fine in client machine having Windows XP OS (IE Version is 7) but for the same url ActiveXViewer.cab is not getting downloaded in Windows 7 Enterprise (IE Version is 8). It throws the error u201CThe Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects.u201D
To download the cab file in Windows 7 machine it request for the following url
1. http://<web server name>/crystalreportviewers115/ActiveXControls/ActiveXViewer.cab
2. http://crl.verisign.com/pca3.crl
3. http://csc3-2004-crl.verisign.com/CSC3-2004.crl
4. http://www.download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/authrootstl.cab
URL 2,3,4 returns the http status as 502 (Bad gateway). These url are not called from the Windows XP machine.
The windows 7 client machine is not connected to the internet. I tried importing the crl files (by downloading from another machine). But still we are getting the same error.
How to over come this issue?
Please Note :
1. I am able to download the cab file when I tried to download only the cab file directly by specifying the cab url.
2. If I am registering the ActiveXViewer.cab deliverables manually in the client machine report is launching fine, but we cannot do the same for the entire client machine having Windows 7 Enterprise Operating System.

Thank you very much for the information provided by you. But still the same error (The Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects) occurs after changing the IE8 Compatibility mode.
Are there any other settings that can be tried for this issue?

Would like to seek for your help, how to use (SQVI) quick viewer/SAP query to generate the listing of and can I use SQVI -quick viewer and select the data source as logical database source to generate in order to generate the listing of GL account number,GL account descrition , tax category,posting without tax allowed column in the query by company?

Thank you for the prompt reply, what I would like the query to generate is the master data GL listing for GL account,GL description,Tax category, posting without tax allowed column where i use BRF as the data source for logical database to generate the quick viewver but the BRF data source do not have the GL description.
How I can join table/join query or what are the data source should i use so that i can able to generate the query with GL master data listing by company code by display GL account,GL description,Tax category, posting without tax allowed?

Hi Naidu
Though you rename the package name, the view in that package refers to the old package and hence that view can be used in other views by including the old package name only. Renaming doesn't have significance that you expect. You can create a new package and views in it and copy the implementation of views from the old package to the views in the new package.

SQVI - Quick Viewer - Avoid Duplicates

Hi All,
I am running a Quick Viewer and need to display the Count of records for each month.
Now I have 2 records for each Employee.(Say 1 for dental and 1 for medical)
Say I have 5 employees,So I could display the Count as 10 records.
But in Actual I need to display the count as 5 because there are 5 employees.
Since in my dataset 2 records are fetched for each employee,Record count is many a times double the employee count .
Is there anyway we could avoid duplicates in Quick viewer.

I am using a custom infotype table in HR similar to the IT0167 (health plans).
Problem is few employees have medical and dental,Few have only medical and few Only dental.
Thus making it difficult to get the actual count of employees.

how can i get company code specific data(customer master data) using quick viewer?
as i know we dont get any selection criteria.
it it is not possible can somebody explain how can i extract all customer master data particular to a company code?(not from SE16)

SQVI is used to convert a Quick View into a query.
Quick Viewer:
The Quick Viewer allows you to define reports without having to program yourself. The Quick
Viewer is especially useful for new users and occasional use.
Quick Viewer is a tool for generating reports. SAP Query offers the user a whole range of options for defining reports. SAP Query also supports different kinds of reports such as basic lists, statistics, and ranked lists. Quick Viewer, on the other hand, is a tool that allows even relatively inexperienced users to create basic lists.
Quick View definitions are user-dependent. You can transfer a Quick View into SAP Query in order to make reports, for example, accessible to additional users, or to use the other functions available in SAP Query.
The following is a comparison of Quick Views and queries:
Quick Views possess the same functional attributes as queries. However, only basic lists may be defined with Quick Views.
In contrast to queries, no user group assignment is necessary with Quick Views. Each user has his/her own personal list of Quick Views. Quick Views cannot be exchanged between users. Quick Views may, however, be converted to queries and then be made available to other users in a specific user group.
Info Sets are not required for Quick View definition. Whenever you define a Quick View, you can specify its data source explicitly. Tables, database views, table joins, logical databases, and even Info Sets, can all serve as data sources for a Quick View. You can only use additional tables and additional fields if you use an Info Set as a data source.
The Quick Viewer uses various controls. Certain hardware and software requirements must also be fulfilled before you can use the Quick Viewer.
To define a Quick View, you select certain fields according to your data source that determine the structure of your report. The report can be executed in basis mode with standard layout or may be edited using drag and drop and the other toolbox functions available in WYSIWYG mode.
Reports created using the Quick Viewer may also be passed to external programs (Excel, for example).
Call the Quick Viewer using System -> Services -> Quick Viewer (or transaction SQVI).
Enter the name of the Quick View. Quick View names can contain a maximum of 14 characters.
Choose Create.
Enter a title for the Quick View and remarks, if you think they are relevant.
If you do not want to base your list on a table, use the possible entries pushbutton in the Data source field to select another data source. You can choose logical databases or Info Sets. In addition, you may also create table joins. For further information, see Selecting a Data Source.
Choose Basis mode if you want to create the list directly with no list design. Choose Layout mode if you want to define the layout of your list yourself.
SQVI Table Quick viewer Used to created quick client dependent reports
Probably the easiest and most flexible way to do this is thru one of the ABAP query transactions.
Transaction SQVI can do this and it has a very good help function that explains how it works... the drawback is that it is only for one user.
You can play around with it and see if it meets your needs...
The query results will come back in an ALV Grid or Excel... you can select what fields are returned, and have a selection screen to enter the search criteria.
To allow any user to run a query, then you can create an Infoset with transaction SQ02 (you define what fields the user will get in their results, and what fields will appear on the selection screen), then create a multi user query using transaction SQ01 and the infoset you created in SQ02. One of the basis people can then create a transaction from your sq01 query, and that transaction can then be moved into production.
SQVI and SQ02/SQ01 are far more powerful than SE16 as they allow you to do table joins. SQ02 also allows you to create computed fields.

Quick Viewer SQVI: how to switch to Technical Field Names on select screen?

Hi all,
I have created in SQ01 a Quick view and want to see the technical field names (and not the descriptions) on the selection screen.
In SE16 in the selection screen you go to
-> Settings
-> User parameters
unter 'keywords' you find FIELD NAME / LABEL and you can choose.
But in SQVI there is not that option.
Only in the creation of the query you can 'switch between techniucal name and long text'.
However if you execute and come to the selection screen then there is only the long text....

I also tried with different options but it looks like SAP does not have option to display technical fields in output, however we can see technical names while creating query.

Add functionality to Quick View

This should be an easy one, but I'm obviously missing something...
I work with software that has a bunch of files that have the extension "properties". They are plain text files. How do I get them to 'open' when I use quick view and show me their contents? I assume I somehow need to bind the extension to something, but I can't figure out how to do that.

Do you mean the "Quick Look" feature of Leopard? If so, you need a Quick Look generator plugin (extension type: "qlgenerator") to tell Leopard how to display the contents of the application's documents.
Some applications come with & install these things automatically at the time of installation or first run. Others are available online from various sources, for example http://www.qlplugins.com/ or from Apple Downloads (tip: try http://www.apple.com/search/downloads/?q=QuickLookGenerator to quickly list them).
If that doesn't do it, & you are willing to edit the content of an existing generator or create your own, try browsing through Introduction to Quick Look Programming Guide for all the info you will need to know about this. It isn't as complex as it may seem at first, especially if you just want to add a document type to an existing QL generator.

How can I quickly view pdf files like I can do with Windows Picture and Fax viewer for jpg files? I need to look at several thousand PDF files. It takes too long to open each one individually. The only thing I could think of is combining them into large groups and then using the Navigation index. But I like the way windows Picture and Fax Viewer does it because you can keep the files separate. Combining PDFs causes loss of individual file names. That would be a problem since I do need to have the individual file names.

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer is a DLL and is started via a rundll32.exe call and can't be set as an application to handle images in Firefox 3 and later versions.
Try to set Windows Picture and Fax Viewer as the default viewer in Windows, then it should be listed automatically in the Mozilla Firefox Browse dialog.
