WDA iView / Page Creation

HI all,
I'm running NW Portal 7.30 and I've created a WD ABAP iView.
I've created 2 pages in the portal, one is a normal PRT page and another one is a WebDynpro Page.
When I insert the iView into the PRT page all is fine.
However when I insert this same iView into the WebDynpro Page the height is not determined correctly and all sort of scrollbars are shown.
My question is: Shouldn't we be using WebDynpro Pages to integrate WebDynpro Applications? Or is this type of technology meant to be used for WebDynpro Java Applications only?
Will I face any issue using PRT page to integrate WebDynpro ABAP applications?

Thanks. As far as I know, the TEST is only single server landscape. The APACHE Proxy handles the User Requests and sends the URL to the application server. The PROXY Resides on Same Box as the Test portal.
It works sometimes and dosen't at other times ......
Is the proxy filtering the URL /sap/bc/WebDynpro......

WDA IVIEW on Portal gives 'Page Not Found'

hi,
I have a issue with WDA IView. Works fine stand alone. Works fine on the DEV Portal.
When put on the TEST Portal, 50% of times it works and remaining it gives 'Page not Found' error.
Does it have anything to do with WD or Portal ?
We have a Apache Proxy server for the Portal
BSP Iviews on the same Portal works fine.

WDA iview keeps reloading itself all the time

Hi experts,
I have a problem with WDA iview, that in portal (NW 7.0) keeps reloading itself time and time again not getting anything ready.
If I run the same WDA application directly from backend in SE80 (ECC 6.0), there is no problem.

Hello Vesa,
From what it sounds, there is something that triggers the refresh of the page that contains this iView, however you have to supply more details about the issue.
In order to better understand the issue, please record an http watch trace and check if there is a repeated request to the DSM terminator component.
If so, check who is the referrer of that request.
From that point on we can continue.

Two Scrollbars for WDA iview within Content Area

Hi Team,
We are on EP 7.0 ehp1.
iView is having two scrollbars. Isolation method is URL and it is
greyed out by default, this is a Webdynpro ABAP iview.
I have tried changing the property "Height Type" to FULL_PAGE and also
AUTOMATIC.
Please help me.

Yes, this is a custom WDA.
iview is directly added to the role. i did not add this to a page.
iView height has been set to Full_page, no change.
Please suggest.

Standard MDM iView for Creation of Record

Hi All,
We have requirement to create a record in MDM through Portal.
Are there any standard iViews available in Portal content of MDM, which can create or update a record in MDM repository?
In the Portal content we have found following two SCA
BPMDMAPPLI04_0.SCA
BPMDMTECHN04_0.SCA
We have deployed them on the portal server, we are able to see search and itemdetail iViews for standard repository.
But we are not able to see iViews for creation of record.
In one of the document it has been given that SP 04 extended (imporved) functionality offers Data Entry and Maintenance (CURD operations) can also be performed.
But availability of the iViews not mentioned anywhere.
Anyone has already implemented such kind of functionality or scenario?

I have followed the same PDF also.
But I am not able to find out the SCA's which are mentioned in the above document for GP and CAF.
I tried searching on service market place also.
In portal Contenet of SP 04 i have found only two SCA's
BPMDMAPPLI04_0.SCA
BPMDMTECHN04_0.SCA
I am not able to find following SCA files.
H2G_GuidedProcedures.sda
H2G_SourceCode.zip
Can tell me how do i get those SCA's?

Browser REFRESH button does not return to the same iView/Page

Hi,
In SDN site I have seen that in whichever menu i am in, if i use the browser refresh button i return to the same page. But this does not happen on my enterprise portal.
Can you please let me know, how to set / configure the enterprise portal EP7 such that, if am in any iview and use the browser refresh, then i am returned to the same iview / page and not to the first page of the menu. Currently in my portal, when i hit the browser REFRESH button, it takes me to the first page/iview.

Thanks for your reply. With the help of the document link that you have provided, i have been able to achieve my target partially. Currently i am able to refer to the iView and Role directly using the QuickLink and when i access that particular iView & Role using the QuickLink and then do a refresh, the same screen appears. This part is working fine. But i have one issue.
But generally a iView/Role is accessed not via the QuickLink on the browser but by clicking on the Role on Navigation Level 1. Even though this Role has a QuickLink, it is not visible in the address bar since the QuickLink URL was not used for reaching the Role. In such a situation, when we press the REFRESH button, the iView / Role is vanished and the browser returns to the first default page of the portal.
Can we somehow make it such that whenever the Role is accessed in the Navigation Levels, it can be accessed via QuickLinks and the QuickLink URL is displayed on the address bar ? If this can be achieved, then i guess the problem will be solved.
I hope i have been able to get across my point. Hoping to hear a positive reply from your side.

LTA application is a part of claims and advance application in ESS. For using this application you need to be on some minimum B.P. level, after that you can use this application. You can check the application through Content Admin role in ESS.

How to set Portal Theme for WDA iView different from user's Theme

Hi Experts!
I have dual-stack system: ABAP server + Java. I have WDA application in ABAP server and I deployed it to NW Portal via iView (using template).
There are two themes customized:
1: Standard - to be used for all iviews except WDA iviews. This theme is set as default for user.
2.: WDA theme - to be used for some WDA iviews IRRESPECTIVELY what them is set in personalization settings of the user.
So my question is:
Can I somehow set the Portal Theme to be used for specific iView no matter what Theme user has selected in his personalization?
Or if its not possible, can I set some specific Theme for WDA application?
So taks is to overcome settings for default portal theme for user and replace it with different theme. Is this possible?

Are you using an LDAP as your UME, or are the user records from from R/3 ?
Apparently (Ive never done it) you used to be able to force a default language by editing this file (back in the EP5 days):
<J2EE root>\WEB-INF\portal\system\properties\prtDefault.properties
Look at the following lines :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.defaultlanguage=en
request.defaultcountry=us
If you prefer to have the same language for all users no matter their user locale, change the lines to this :
This is the default language to be used when none is specified
request.mandatorylanguage=en
request.mandatorycountry=us

How do I remove the Options from an iView, Page Tray in ESS & MSS:

Make the necessary settings here:
SPRO -> Personnel Management -> Employee Self-Service -> General Settings -> Homepage for Self-Services -> Resources-> Define Resources -> Define Resources (Add Entries)
Changes made to this service will appear in ESS/MSS and will affect the Icons the manager or an employee will be able to see on the portal.

Could not find iViews, Pages, Roles etc tabs in Content Admin Tab

Hello all,
I have installed 'Sneak Preview SAP NetWeaver 04 SP16 - Full Java Edition-Trial' from sdn.sap.com website. I am trying to learn EP development and started with EP100 (August 2002) document.
I couldn't find iViews, Pages, Roles etc tabs in Content Admin tab from where I can create channels and pages as described in the document. Am I following the wrong document or do I have to assign any additional roles to the user.
I have created a user with everyuser roles and super admin role. Do I have to add any other roles to this user to work with iViews and pages.
Please help me as I have struck at the very beginning.

Implementing enlarge and Collapse feature for KM iViews/Pages

We are showing the KM folder structure in Portal content area, I would like to know whether we can implement the feature of Enlarging and collapsing for the KM iViews/Pages the way SAP Implemented for navigation panel with which we can expand/contract the content area space...

first of all sorry for the mistake in the link.Anyway,
regarding your requirement,this is very well possible.
If you could watch the code in the link closely,there is a function called toggle. In its definition
just modify the code this way(below the alert comment).

div.style.width = "100px";// this is where we reduce the width of the layout

div.style.width = "200px"; // original layout width
so when u click on the icon now initially it opens up to a larger width. on clicking again, it will now collapse a portion of the width(as per your need.. not fully)
similarly if you want to enlarge the width
write another toggle function and give

div.style.display = "";
div.style.width = "300px";// this is where we increase the width of the layout
} else {
div.style.display = "";
div.style.width = "200px";
You can modify these values as per your requirement.
I have tried out collapsing the portion of the width with this code.It works fine.So for enlarging also this will work.

Automate the assignment of iviews, pages, workset to role....

Hello Gurus,
We are using EP 7.0. Is there any tool available in EP 7.0 that will automate the assignment of different content objects, like assignments of iviews, pages and workset to role.
We want to assign large no. of iviews, pages,worksets etc. to diffrenent roles. Is there anything available that will help us to automate the assignment, rather than manually assign the objects to the role as it will be a huge task and time consuming.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

as far as I know there is no standard tool for mass assignment of content objects to portal roles. But you can easily develop your own solution. The folloowing sections of the SAP Library should be helpful:

You can create new secondary pages in contributor mode - you would normally do this via a dynamic list fragment though technically you could also achieve it by switching region content and creating new data files. You can then use the linz wizard to link between pages.
If you are talking about creating new primary pages and sections in your site then you would need to use something like Site Studio Manager fragment.
