WDS and the Extreme + Extreme using latest airport utility.

Hi everyone... checked out the latest airport utility? Couple of new features but one's annoying. I set up peoples networks and prefer to use Airports because of the ease and awesome raw power. (i used to use linksys WRT54GL's and dd-wrt or tomato)
I need some of your help with this one.
I would like to use 2 Extremes to WDS my house. It's long. I use the wizard on the first, then go back and manually set wireless options to WDS, add ID of remote, name remote then update.
I go to remote, log in, set settings, WDS point to main, and thus create a whole nother network with the same name.
as you know, the expresses "wizard" will allow you to extend by joining and updating both ways.
if anyone can help me with the secret to unlocking WDS on AEBSn+AEBSn I will be forever grateful.

I FOUND the answer to extreme + extreme WDS. You can't really do that. BUT WHAT YOU CAN DO...
Set up your first airport extreme with wireless and a connection to your internet connection.
go to the wireless tab on manual setup and "allow this network to be extended"
check to see if you have any other errors to address then get online and bring up a web page.
i prefer nebraskasheep.com but you can use google or whatnot
ok, so then go to your other Extreme and join it.
set it up manually. give it a name like homeremote or a unique name so they're easy to identify. I call mine main and remote or homeremote now that the airport utility remembers all your previous setups.
go to the wireless tab, extend a wireless network, and wallah!
done.

Did you have the instructions that came with your Airport Extreme? Are you sure you have it setup properly? Here is the setup guide:

Sounds like you are a bit confused with version numbers.
Latest AirPort Utility version for the iPhone / iPad is 1.3.3. There is no option or capability to export/import settings on the iOS version(s) of AirPort Utility.....although you could take a series of screen shots and save them for future reference.
AirPort Utility 6.3.x is found on a Mac.....not on iPhone / iPad. Export and Import options are found under the File menu in 6.3.x.

Temporarily connecting your AirPort Express to one of the Time Capsule's Etherent LAN <-> ports...as LaPastenagure suggests....is always a good way to setup and configure other network devices.
If you want to configure the Express using wireless, remember that the Express broadcasts a default wireless signal with a name like Apple Network xxxxxx. You must log on to this network first....no password is required....then open AirPort Utility to "see" the AirPort Express.

I want to share files between my MacBook Pro and G5, I am using an AirPort Extreme Base Station. I can see the MacBook Pro on the G5 and vice versa, I have file sharing turned on both, as well as Screen Sharing. I currently am sharing using Target Disk Mode, I want to know what other wireless options are available to me?
I want to have the 2 computers able to see each other and be able to share files be drag and dropping, I also have another G4 on using Tiger I want to be a part of this happy Apple sharing family. Can someone please tell me how to accomplish my goal?

The mac help is: Finder window/Help/Mac Help. It provides answers to a lot of common questions, including file sharing.
As for the ethernet cable, you can either buy another one (inexpensive and available in many places including Walmart), or just unplug it from your modem temporarily and plug it back in when you're done.
As for Target disk mode, take a look at this Apple article:

As I mentioned, I prefer using the ethernet/file sharing method if I need to copy a lot of files; however, there is another way around if you have an external drive and just want to copy one or two files. Just plug the external into one computer, copy the file onto it, unplug, plug into the other computer and copy.

I want to use dns servers other then the one that airport extreme is using. For example I got the 172.16.1.1 (the default gateway - airport extreme), but I want to use the office dns servers, that are in a 10.x.x.x range.
Is there a possibility?

The Airport Extreme uses the DNS servers assigned by the network that it connects to. Is you Airport Extreme on the 10.x.x.x network? if it is then you are already using the 10.x.x.x DNS servers. Check your Airport Extreme with the Airport Utility and you will see in the Internet tab, the DNS servers used. The devices connecting to the Airport Extreme are assigned a DNS address of the Airport Extremes IP, In your case 172.16.1.1 but all DNS searches and resolution are done with the DNS servers you see in the Airport Extreme.
If you want to use some other DNS then you can override in the Airport Extreme which will be used by all devices connecting too the Airport Extreme, Or you can edit the DNS address in each devices wireless settings.

Airport Extreme security concern with Airport Utility App

Just bought the new Airport Extreme (802.11ac) last night. BY FAR the easiest wireless setup I have ever done (< 5 minutes). Hats off to the Apple developers on this one - they crushed it! One of the things that makes this device so easy to setup though is the iPad/iPhone Airport Utility app. I used the iPad version.
My concern - When I startup this app it goes straight to the main config screen. Just tap on the Airport Extreme image, then tap Edit and I'm into my wireless settings (id's, passwords, etc.). And that's my concern. It didn't ask me for any kind of password to get into the utility, or the settings. What's to stop someone else from using my iPad to get into the wireless settings, or from someone else installing the app on their iPad and getting into my wireless settings.
It feels like this is a huge security hole. Am I missing something?

Only way I can think of is uninstall the app, and install it again only when I need it. Isn't there a better way?
If it were me, I would not install or use AirPort Utility for the iPad, iPhone etc. Use only AirPort Utility on your Mac, and do not enable the option to have KeyChain Access remember the password.
Then, anyone who wants to access the settings in AirPort Utility on the Mac will have to enter the Base Station password to be able to make any changes in AirPort Utility.

Airport extreme not showing in airport utility

I am running osx10.7 server and am attempting to port remap my airport extreme. When i open airport utility, it says that there are no airports in range, when i'm actually connected to an airport via wifi. I cannot figure out what the issue is. If someone can help me fix this issue and instruct me how to remap my rounter so i can use it to host websites and the like, it would be greatly appreciated.

PS ... to configure the Express, best connect a laptop via Ethernet to them. This eases the process a lot.

Loaded Mountain Lion and time capsule no longer works, airport utility can't be configured, back ups have stopped, sparse bundle in use errors occur, what a mess!!!!

Should Airport Utility now be defunct for my time capsule because I have upgraded OS to Mountain Lion? I have tried every fix I can think of but AU will not set up. I'm also getting repeated time machine back up failures and now I have a new "sparsebundleinuse" error which is totally useless to me, I have no idea what a sparse bundle is, I have no idea what it's suddenly being used by and there's no information to say what to do about it. Apps can only be updated using the same Apple ID and password they were originally purchased with.

First, the required profile needs to be present. LR 5.4 supports the X-T1 in terms of understanding its Raw format, but will not come with a profile for every lens which can be mounted onto that.
A profile is made for each specific lens, as mounted on a certain camera. It can also be used with pictures taken on a different (reasonably similar) camera body than the one originally used during profiling. This is subject to the sensor format: you can employ a given lens profile made for full frame, on an image from a crop sensor behind the same lens - but not vice versa.
Next, the image type needs to correspond to the image type which has been built into the profile: Raw, or non-Raw.
Lightroom offers only profiles of the right type for the image(s) concerned. There are many more provided for correcting camera Raw, than for correcting camera JPG. That is also the case with additional profiles, e.g. those accessed via the Adobe lens profile downloader utility.
Finally, in the event that there simply is no profile out there for a given lens, it is not particularly difficult (though a little tedious) for the end user to generate one, using a further Adobe utility which is downloadable as a package, including a range of checkerboard calibration targets, each of which needs to be printed at a stated physical size.
