WDS clients not joining the domain
Hi all
Recently set up a 2012R2 server in our domain as a WDS server. After syspreping Win7 x64 with an unattend file and capturing images the machines just don't want to join the domain, after windows install it gets to the "Applying system settings"
and hangs for 15 minutes (while i assume it tried to join the domain) then eventually restarts but with no domain join, everything else in the unattend file works fine bar the domain join. I've tried with secure join and unsecure join but none work. Using
no unattend file the domain join works fine.
I've searched every forum and tried various methods to get this working but still no joy.
Can anyone suggest anything?
Thanks
HI ,
please read this link :
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc730845%28v=ws.10%29.aspx
You have the option to add the domain computer using unattend file

Workstations not Joining the Domain after OSD
I have a sporadic problem happening in my Environment. OSD Deployments for the most part finish successful , workstation joins the domain with no issues. At certain locations occasionally the workstation does not join the
domain. Have you seen this happen before? are there logs on the DC or DP which might explain why this is happening? While you are at it grab setupact.log and setuperr.log from two locations, c:\windows\panther and c:\windows\panther\unattendGC. These logs will give more details on why the domain join fails.

Hi
I am trying to set up an Azure RemoteApp Hybrid solution.
I have created RemoteApp net and uploaded a custom image and all that is fine.
When I link my template to my Collection it fails after provisioning for about an hour.
I recive the following message: Could not provision the RemoteApp collection. Error: Could not join the domain. Unable to reach the domain.
The join domin works fine and I have tryed with account with different lvl of access to my AD.
Any suggestion how to solve this?Hello Eric,
I am landing into the same Problem and i read your guidance on this issue. Let me answer it point by point.
1. Check the VPN state to ensure it is active or connected state:
Sundesh:My Azure RemoteApp Virtual Network after successfull S2S configuration shows as Ready. Is that what you mean by Connected State? Earlier to S2S, it was just under connecting state.
2. Verify your VNET configurations have proper IP address ranges
Sundesh: The VNET address range, the Local address range and DNS has already been verified twice. In fact the same address ranges(with exception to VNET) are working fine on a VENT config on Azure VM instance. Verified.
3. Verify your DNS IP configurations are valid, (often this is the problem)
Sundesh: Yes its done and verified
4. Verify the credentials entered for domain join are valid.
Sundesh: Tested these credentials by joining a regular Azure VM to domain and it works there.
5. Make sure your VPN endpoint that Azure RemoteApp service is connecting to is not blocking traffic.
Sundesh: Can you please let us know the specific port numbers that we need to consider and i can have it checked with the Network team
Thanks

Error: Could not join the domain. Unable to reach the domain.
Hi, I'm trying to setup a demo environment. I guess VPN is working fine because i can see traffic. And also DNS. I even tried using a domain administrator account, so there is no problem with the account.
When i first created a app collection the wizard complained about using domain.local so i tried domain.com and it worked. Later i want to change back to domain.local because domain.com is only a domain suffix and not my real domainname.
Any tips and tricks I can check to get this working?Well... This was embarrassing. A typo in the network config. Problem solved.

Native Mode for Computers not on the domain (Workgroup)
We recently converted our environment to PKI (HTTPS) and everything has been working great for our domain bound machines. Now in our environment we have a couple machines that are not on the domain, "workgroup computers". Does anyone
have a best practice to getting these devices connected? I have read various things on certain blogs but it seems everyone is doing it different.
I would also like to have the Workgroup cert installed via the task sequence so when the techs are installing things or just having the computer off the domain it is still communicating with SCCM. Then when the computer is joined to the domain it uses
the certs from group policy, and vice versa when a computer is removed from the domain it would revert to the workgroup certs.
Also do you have to create a cert for each workgroup computer? I would like to do it the easiest way possible since we have a seperate group who does the CA Authority certs and would rather not have to bug them for every workgroup machine.Let's start with the last question, yes every workgroup computer needs its own certificate.
About your initial question, depending on the number of workgroup computers it might indeed be beneficial to automate the certificate request via, for example PowerShell. An example can be found here:
https://jasonhjones.wordpress.com/2014/10/28/powershell-and-certificate-requests/
The complete manual process can be found here (it's written for ConfigMgr 2007, but the process is still very similar except for the client installation parameters):

AIR-CAP3501I access point not joining the Cisco 2100 Wireless Lan controller.
Hello All,
I am installing a new LAP (AIR-CAP3501I ) through the wireless lan controller (AIR-WLC2112-K9) with software version 7.0. I have an external ADSL modem which will act as the DHCP server for the wireless clients and the LAP.
Please find my network setup as below:
The ISP ADSL modem , WLC and LAP are connected to a unmanaged POE switch. The LAP gets its power through the POE switch. When i connect the LAP and the WLC to the switch along with the ADSL modem, the LAPs are getting the ip address from the ADSL modem, however they are not joining the WLC for further process.
ADSL Modem ip address: 192.168.1.254
Management ip address on the LAP: 192.168.1.1 ( Assigned to port 1, untagged Vlan).
Ap Manager ip address: 192.168.1.1 ( Assigned to the same port i.e port1, Untagged Vlan).
The LAP is getting an IP address from the ADSL modem in the range of the DHCP scope.
I will paste the logs very soon.
Please let me know if i am doing anything wrong oe what will be the issue.
Thanks in advance,

The Acess point joins the Controller for 2-3 seconds and then unjoins again. I am not sure what i am doing wrong here. The access points are getting the IPs from the ADSL modem through the switch, then it talks to the WLC, however it does not join the controller for further process.
Note:
The Managemnet interface and the AP manager interface are assigned to the same port 1 with unassigned Vlan as mention above. -

Hi everybody!
Sorry to post this message here at Application Server 7. But I'm using the Application Server 8 along with NetBeans 4.1 early access. Suddenly, the application server stop working on my computer and now, every time I try to start the default server, I get this error message:

I'm running this application server on Windows XP, like I said, I was working with NetBeans and suddenly, the AS stop working.. I did not delete anything, I did not move anything either.
Please, does any of you have any ideas of how can I fix this issue?
Best regards! You may try this soultion. I fixed this in my Window 2000 machine(Application Server 8) by:
1. Edit domain.xml($DEFAULT_DOAMIN/config)
2. Update the port="4702" for http-listener tag, and change to something else(e.g. 4802).
3. Save it
4. Make sure the Application Server is shut down.
5. Start the Application Server.
Hope it helps!

WinXP computers can't join the domain
Hi, I'm setting up my first Xserve and I'm having troubles making WinXP machines join the domain.
With OS X and Win98 clients I have no problems with the tests accounts I have created, but with with WinXP machines I get the error that they can't Join the domain becouse Access is Denied. I don't think is a configuration error on the server's services or the WinXP boxes becouse I can join the domain and access the account for diradmin OK from the WinXP boxes, so it may be an account configuration problem.
Also the accounts have network home folders, don't know if this might also cause a problem, I did try with no home assigned and still got the same error.
Any help would be appreciatedFixed the problem myself....
Creted a new account and dindn't move anything on it, nothing managed and nothing changed on the account windows tab.
Joined the domain with the diradmin account, and after the reboot used the new test user, logged in fine and home folder was mounted as a Network drive perfectly.
Hope this helps someone in the future -
Should I join the domain with my new server 2008 R2 before I run dcpromo ?
Hi Team,
Should I join the domain with my new server 2008 R2 before I run dcpromo ?
Brand new server, 2008 r2. I want it to eventually be my forest root. Should I go ahead and join it to the domain as just a member server and then do all the ? Should I run adprep before I join
the domain? I'm only asking about member server at this point...before dcpromo.
Most of the posts I have seen relating to installing Additional Domain Controller (ADC) onto a domain, state that the machine they are starting with is NOT a member of the domain. In my case,
the machine I want to make an ADC is already a member of the domain.

Our service just upgraded to 4g. Now my Mac computer will not join the network. It "sees" the network but will not "join"
Hi Hojo38,
That's not good! What happens when you attempt to make the connection? Do you receive an error message? What device is the computer making a connection to? Send details please.
Thanks,

LAP not joining the controller
Gents
I have 1 AP out of ten not joining the controller. I connected the access point to the network and I checked its boot. the access point reaches LWAPP Discovery" and then give me console input. I hard reset the access point and I hard coded an IP address for the AP the AP joins the controller, but when I reset it to assign it to another controller it did not join again.
why the discovery process is not showing the DHCP option 43 configured and DNS for CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER configured on the DNS. All the access point is operating normally except this one. it has many certificate inside, why a hard reset did not work to solve the problem?
Please advise
Thanks,Does the LAP have a valid IP address?
Can the LAP ping the WLC managment IP address?
Console into the LAP and in enable mode, type the command "lwapp ap controller ". -
CLI156 Could not Start the domain - new session
Hi,
I'm trying to start my doamin but get the following message:
Starting Domain domain1, please wait.
Log redirected to C:\Sun\AppServer\domains\domain1\logs\server.log.
Could not create temporary files - check C:\DOCUME~1\Γ∞≥π\LOCALS~1\Temp\ to see
if its writeable and not-full
CLI156 Could not start the domain domain1.
I guess the problem is with the library name in hebrew. But I don't know where can I change the path for the temporary files.
Can anyone help?
Thanks,
GiladSpecify TempDir directive in your server's instance_dir/config/init.conf file.
Syntax is:
TempDir path
Or change environment's TEMP variable. Application server uses this variable for temp files writing by default. -
