WDTypeNotFoundException: type java:byte not found

Hi,
When I import a webservice I get the following error when I start my Web Dynpro application:
WDTypeNotFoundException: type java:byte not found
(In datatypebroker)
This happens when I import a webservice that contains type xsd:base64Binary. (If I don't map this node to my controller I don't get the error.)
In other posts I read that a conversion using com.sap.engine.lib.xml.util.BASE64Encoder should solve the problem. But the error occurs at startup, before my custom code is reached.
Anyone?
Thanks in advance.
Roelof

Hi Valery,
Thanks for your reply.
I cannot change the type. When I edit the model class, It does not allow me to change the type.
To be more precise:
The webservice has an import parameter 'FOTO'. This does not appear as a property but as a relation and refers to array_byte.
I can edit the relation (in a popup window), but the only types I'm allowed to change it into are the three nodes under my generated model class: request, response and array_byte.
When I edit array_byte I cannot change the type. There is a property named 'value' of type byte, I cannot change this. I can edit the relation, with the same result as described before.
(When I link the model to my controller context, I get a context node FOTO (cardinality 0:n) that contains an attribute 'value' of type byte.)
I suspect that (Java) Web Dynpro's do not support webservices that contain xsd:base64Binary types.

  • TypeNotFoundException: type java:byte

    Hi,
I am trying to use the web service for Microsoft mappoint in webdynpro. (http://staging.mappoint.net/standard-30/mappoint.wsdl)
This webservice cotains an element of type base64Binary as a result of which when I generate the model attributes of type byte[] are created. When I deploy and run this application I get the following error -
    com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.TypeNotFoundException: type java:byte not found
    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.datatypes.core.DataTypeBroker.getDataType(DataTypeBroker.java:224)

    at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.context.NodeInfo.init(NodeInfo.java:671)
As per the post - WDTypeNotFoundException: type java:byte not found I tried to change the type to binary but I could not edit the model.
Is there any alternative solution to this problem? Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Nakul

    Hi Nikhil, Hi Nakul
We are also getting same error. Our WS returns a PDF which is base64binary. When we import this WS in WebDynpro JAVA using the deprecated WS Model method,  it gets imported. But in the node this attribute shows as type byte.
Now even if we do not write any code and run this application, it gets the error mentioned above. So the control is not reaching any custom code. The stack trace proves the same.
Please let me know if anything can be done here.

I have checked similar errors in the forums and tried the solutions purposed but with no success. I do not understand why the application is looking for the DataControls.dcx file inside a standard WC Search library.
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi Dani,
Eventually I found the problem, it is reported in Oracle Support as Doc ID 1503173.1.
It seems jDeveloper is a bit special when adding Directories to the MAR file. If the whole directory "/oracle" is added, the adf-config.xml introduces the following line:
    namespace metadata-store-usage="WebCenterFileMetadataStore" path="/oracle"/
As a result, this diverts all /oracle/... file and class requests to MDS, which causes failures.
So when editing the MAR deployment profile be careful to select the sub-directories under /oracle/webcenter/portalapp/ one by one.
Added to this, I had to perform the cleaning process you suggested to make it work too, otherwise I get a different error...
    Final steps are:
    1. Undeploy application.
    2. Delete MDS partition.
    3. Shutdown managed server.
    4. Delete /cache and /tmp content for the managed server.
    5. Start managed server.
    6. Exectute Clean all in jDeveloper.
    7. Create a new mar deployment as described in SR 1503173.1.
    8. Deploy to EAR file.
    9. Deploy new application to managed server using Enterprise Manager.
    And it works!
    Thanks for your help!

    Hello,
    I'm working with ADF 11.1.1.5.
I know that this error message usually indicates a misspelled attribute name.
But my code ist this:ViewObject tVO = _myApplicationModel.createViewObjectFromQueryStmt(null,

    tVO.setWheresetWhereClauseParam(0, someValue);
    tVO.execureQuery();
Object countReturned = tVO.first().getAttribute(0); // literal int 0 as indexThis code was working for several years. My SCM shows no differences to the last known working version.
But today it started throwing oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25058: Definition 0 of type Attribute is not found in ViewDefImpl_189_190.

    I suppose you check this before:Object countReturned = tVO.first().getAttribute("my_count");
No. I did not expect this to work anyhow while accessing via index fails.
    BTW:
    Currently the error disapeaed.
The only thing I did was to relaunche the application. I did not change any code. Neither I recompiled.
I'm not a religious man but look's like I have sacrifice something to any good for this not happening in production. I'm thinking of an Oracle licence... ;o)

  • NoDefException: Definition CostProfile of type Attribute is not found

    Hi All,
I have a StdCostVO based on StdCostEO and I'm getting this error suddenly in my AM tester (was running fine earlier today):
oracle.jbo.NoDefException: JBO-25058: Definition CostProfile of type Attribute is not found in __LOCAL_VIEW_USAGE_oracle_apps_scm_costing_standardCosts_stdCostDefinitions_model_entity_StdCostEO_ValUnitVA_findByVC_8fc_LOV_ValUnit__lov__filterlist__vcr___.
Here ValUnitVA is a view accessor (using ValUnitVO) in StdCostEO. StdCostVO has two attributes ValUnitCode with LOV (based in ValUnitVA) and CostProfileCode. ValUnitVO has attributes ValUnit and CostProfile, so the LOV returns ValUnitVO.CostProfile to StdCostVO.CostProfileCode.
The error message looks like it couldn't find the attribute CostProfile in ValUnitVO, however I can see this attribute there and no spelling error too. Pasting the source code of the attribute in ValUnitVO below. Please let me know if you see anything suspicious...
I've tried to recreate the CostProfile attribute in ValUnitVO with different name, but still same error. Also to mention, ValUnitVO is expert mode VO.
    Thanks,

  • "Java Class not found in classpath" Error in DESIGNER

    Hello All,
I'm trying to connect in Designer using a JDBC connection to MS SQL Server 2008.  As per the instructions, I updated my jdbc.sbo file with the path to the existing two JAR files.  However, I still get the following error when I try and connect in Designer:  "Java Class not found in classpath : C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86\dataAccess\connectionServer\jdbc\Drivers\sqlsrv".  Of course, this error includes the drive path with the location to my JAR files.  Any help in resolving this nagging issue is very GREATLY appreciated.  Also, if anyone needs it I can post a copy of the jdbc.sbo file to this thread.
    Thank you,

    Stratos,
Your suggestion didn't help.  I tried to connect after restarting my machine and I still get the error.  And, I've also tried adding a connection to MS SQL Server 2005 using this JDBC driver, and that didn't help either.  Any other suggestions?  Would it help to see my "jdbc.sbo" file?  Thanks again for your and everyone else's help, and I look forward to your reply.

In summary, the system cannot find the files server.1.log, security.1.log, database.1.log and applications.1.log. I tried manually adding these files (I created them on my computer and left them empty) on the path written, but it did not work, for some reason they are deleted.
Another error that is happening during restart of the engine is the following:

    Any ideas?

Nothing really seemed to work when trying to solve this problem, just suddenly it stopped appearing. It might have been our installation of SPS 15, since it was around that time that the error went away.
