will 4.1 license will be apply to 5.x host??
No, you will need 5.x licenses.
can we share 4.1 license with 5.x host??
No, version 5 hosts will need licenses for version 5.
do we need to purchase different license for 5.x host ??
It depends, if you have a active Support and Subscription active, you can upgrade your licenses to version 5.x: VMware KB: How to upgrade license keys in My VMware

  • Top users, are you gonna upgrade to new Macbook Pro?

Im just wondering if any of the top users here are planning to upgrade to the new Macbook Pro - or do you plan to stay with your current Macbook Pro?
I'm thinkin of buyin, but would love some input from the pros
    thanks a lot!

    Hi Necronym,
I'm very interested in your reply. I'm a photographer, too. Am soon going to change from my MacPro tower and 22-inch cinema display to a MacBook Pro. Not so much for airport/lap/in-the-field but because I will be moving seasonally between two houses in different parts of the country, and want a more mobile setup. I had assumed I should hold out for the 17-inch model to be upgraded like the 15-inch, mostly because of the screen size. Haven't had a chance yet to get to an Apple Store to compare.
Do you find the 15-inch screen big enough, or do you do most of your hardcore photo editing on a different Mac? Did you find your former 17-inch unwieldy?
    Thanks for any input!

  • I just upgraded to 10.9.  My exchange email won't load emails that are older than a few weeks old.  How do I change this setting so I can see all my mail?

I just upgraded to 10.9.  My exchange email won't load emails that are older than a few weeks old.  How do I change this setting so I can see all my mail?

    Plett81,
I'm having the exact same problem. It does not seem to be a settings issue but rather some sort of "problem" with mac mail. My Exchange provider was able to setup my mailbox on a test machine running Mavericks and everything pulled in fine, however I cannot duplicate on my upgraded system.
I was able to get rebuild my mailbox and get the older messages within my Exchange inbox, however none of my folders and old messages outside of the Inbox are downloading/synching.
**NOTE** I contacted Apple SUpport and they told me to call my email provider. I called my email provider which did as described above and they don't see a problem. SO as suspected it has something to do with the Mavericks update but I'm not sure Apple is willing to help. I might try contacting them one more time and see.

  • If you have unlimited data and plan to upgrade "BE WARNED"

This is just an FYI to all those who may fall into the trap I did. I wish I had know about this prior so I would have made my choices accordingly.
VSW has changed the upgrade plans for those with older unlimited data plans. If you use a line upgrade to get a smartphone that line not only gets the 24 month contract but you will also be forced into a min of $30/month data plan.
I have 3 phones on my account. 1 of them have unlimited data and the other two are simple flip phones (no data).
For 3 years I have used one of these non-data plan lines to upgrade the smartphone and then would move the phone to the unlimited line and the flip phone back to the non-data line. This worked great as my 2 non-data lines had contracts that ended on opposite years.
This last time I upgraded, In January, I explained to the sales person what I wanted to do, they told me they do this all the time and they would take care of it.
My Feb bill was a bit higher than I expected so I called support. I showed them the $30 data fee and how I did not want this on a flip phone. They stated oh yes we understand, will fix it and credit you. Perfect I thought. Sure enough March's bill came and the credit was there but the $30 data charge had not been removed. I called support again and this time they dropped the hammer on me.
My credit was an "Inconvience" credit, it was a range of $3-$8 per line, it was not a reversal of the $30 data charge. This is when I find out that VZW has now changed thier smartphone plan upgrades for accounts who are on grandfarthered in plans. If I switch to thier current plan, ie lose my unlimited data then they are more than happy to remove the data charge. So now I'm stuck paying $30 a month for the next 22 months = $660 in charges for something I will not use. A full contract 24 months $30/month is $720 which is more that the cost of most smartphones.
If this is your situation please be sure you have all the facts prior to getting tricked into a contract worth more that the darn phone you get for "FREE!!!!"

According to VZW support this was a policy change in 8/14, 7 months ago(ish), I'm not claiming this is brand new but I am telling others who have been with VZW for many years and still like the less expensive package they have had for those many years need to be aware that this is the rule now. In attempts to force those long term customers to go to a more expensive plan that offers far less service they have implemented this.
I do understand this policy now and certainly will no longer use the upgrades however I wanted to offer my story as a heads up to any other potential person from running into this situation.

  • End of contract questions (Data plan and upgrade eligibility)

    Hi All,
I found another thread also titled "End of contract questions" and it was very helpful but I want to make sure I'm not mistaken in any way.  Here's my scenario:
    2 Line Plan
    ME (primary): 2-year contract, unlimited Data (10/15/10 - 10/15/12)
    WIFE: 1-year contract, unlimited data (10/15/10 - 10/15/11)
I signed her up for a 1-year contract on the advice of the Verizon rep that was helping us.  It ended up netting an additional cost of $70-100 (I forget exactly) but it was worth it in my opinion because I knew that one of us would be able to get a new phone in 1 year as opposed to 2.
So here are the specific questions:
    1.  Verizon has done away with 1-year contracts.  This means that whenever my wife goes in to renew her contract (and get a new device), she will need to sign a 2 year contract, correct?  All further questions will be posed based on a "yes" answer to this one.
    2.  Assuming she has to sign a 2-year contract, will she still be able to retain her unlimited data plan?
    3.  Assuming she signs up for a 2-year contract, will she still be able to get "loyalty" pricing or whatever they're calling it now (used to be "new every 2")?  Is she even eligible for anything since she's not the primary on the line?
    4.  In the other thread titled "End of contract questions..." it was mentioned that "The loyalty discount expires 6 months after it becomes available -- so 2 months after your contract ends".  Is this correct?
    5.  Currently, if I go to MyVerizon and hover over the "?" next to my number and "Eligible for a discount" it says:  "You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing. If you upgrade on or after 6/15/12 you are eligible to receive an additional loyalty discount. "  I intend to wait for my line as it still has a year on the contract however when I do the same for my wife's line it says:  You are eligible to upgrade with discounted pricing."  Does it not mention the Loyalty discount because it's not applicable to a secondary line?  Or perhaps because it's implied since she's technically out of her contract period?
I'm trying to make heads or tails of this.  At the time, it sounded like a great idea (her on a 1-year, me/primary on a 2-year).  I'm hoping it will work out for us so that every year, one of us will be eligible for a new line.  I'm only concerned with the unlimited data aspect being that she's going to be going from a 1-year to a 2-year and also the actual loyalty/discount aspect.
Thanks in advance for anyone who helps!!

  • Options for Planning in Upgrade

We're currently running BPS in SEM 3.2 and are upgrading our BW to BI 2004s.  We have the option of either:
    a) Upgrading SEM to 6.0 as we upgrade our BW...will we have to go to 4.0, or can we go direct to 6?
    b) Moving BPS to BW 2004s
    c) Migrating BPS to IP in 2004s
What are the functionality impacts from these three options?  Are there any inherent risks associated?  Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi Sean,
Here are some thoughts on your questions below:
    A) you should be able to go directly from 3.2 (BW 3.1) directly to 6.0 (NW04s BI).  An intermediate step is not necessary.
    b) not sure exactly what you are suggesting with this.  If you mean stop using SEM-BPS and use BW-BPS this can't really be done.  Once you've installed SEM on your BW box it's there forever.  Therefore you'd have to upgrade to SEM 6.0.  I believe the only way you could avoid SEM 6.0 is a fresh install of BW.  (not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly)
    c)  This option would allow you to enhance the frontend experience for the end users and allow you to leverage the BW frontend components (queries, structures, variables, etc.) in planning.  The drawbacks are that there isn't currently a migration tool so you'll have to do some rework to get there.  In addition if you're using some of the SEM only functions (allocations, etc.) thost functions don't yet exist in IP so they'd have to still be executed via SEM-BPS or rebuilt in fox.

  • I currently have Photoshop CS5 and plan to upgrade to the latest version. Will I be able to use the serial

I plan to upgrade from CS5 to the latest version but I have several older versions (software/booklets,etc) that I want to sell. In order to upgrade will I need serial #'s and/or license #'s from past versions (besides CS5)?

There is a benefit to upgrade to Creative Cloud for you get all the new features in ACR and Photoshop.   However you also get the new bugs Adobe introduces.  And you also need to have several versions of Photoshop installed For Adobe is removing features and changing API so the newer versions of Photoshop have different features and capabilities.   Currently there are three versions of Photoshop included in the cloud.
You will not see Old Photoshop Version CS6 getting bug  fixes or the latest features of ACR.  In fact the Perpetual CS6 versions are different then the Cloud version of CS6.
CS 6 perpetual  are version 13.0.6 Mac and version 13.0.1.3 PC these install in two flavors Standard or Extended where extended has features like 3D that are not in the Standard flavor.   Cloud CS6 is the full CS6 Extended version 13.1.2 Mac and PC.  There some fixes in the cloud version not in the perpetual versions and some Plug-in support has been removed in the cloud version of CS6 but still exists in the perpetual CS6 version.

    Hi,
    it will helps hopeful,
    Upgradation steps:
    1) Convert Data Classes of InfoCubes. Set up a new data class as described in SAP OSS Note 46272.
    2) Pay attention to the naming convention. Execute the RSDG_DATCLS_ASSIGN report.
    3) Run the report RSUPGRCHECK to activate objects.
    4) Upgrading ABAP and JAVA in parallel may cause issues. If there is no custom development on J2EE instance, it is recommended to drop the J2EE instance and re-install the latest J2EE instance after the upgrade.
    5) Apply SAP OSS Note 917999 if you include the Support Patch 6 with the upgrade or you will get the error at PARCONV_UPG phase. When you upgrade to a product containing Basis 700, the phase PARCONV_UPG terminates. You included Basis Support Packages up to package level 6 (SAPKB70006) in the upgrade. The job RDDGENBB_n terminates with the error RAISE_EXCEPTION. In addition to this, the syslog contains the short dump TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOC_FAILED. The program SDB2FORA terminates in the statement "LOOP AT stmt_tab". An endless loop occurs when the system creates the database table QCM8TATOPGA.
    6) Apply the OSS note 917999 if you get the following error during PARCONV_UPG phase: PARCONV_UPG terminates with TSV_TNEW_PAGE_ALLOG_FAILED

  • Project plan for Upgrade

Does anyone have a project plan or shell for an upgrade to Oracle 11 they want to share.
Edited by: TILLY on Oct 12, 2009 2:17 PM

    Hi,
Could you please include in the plan an upgrade to EPMA with HFM.
The result of my researches are the following:
    - Install version 11
    - Migrate the SQL Schema from 9.2 to 11
    - Run the HFM upgrade script
I'm wondering if the migration will work 9.2 to 11 with an application creating with EPMA.
    Thank you!

  • Are UCS hardware upgrades service disruptive?

    Hi Community,
Is fabric interconnect hardware upgrade from dual (clustered) 6120XP to dual 6248 service disruptive?
Is adding a new 5108 chassis to the existing UCS configuration with dual 6120XP service disruptive?

    Thanks Kenny.
1). I have actually been using this document for my project, and I think I worked out a pretty good migration plan based on it, but there are some grey areas/questions, MARKED IN BOLD CAPS. Could you clarify them for me?
Step 1 Upgrade UCS firmware across all the devices to the same version - 2.1(1f). THE NEW 6248S CAN BE TEMPORARY CONFIGURED AS STANDALONE OR IN A CLUSTER FOR THE FIRMWARE UPGRADE, AND THEN THE CONFIGURATION SHOULD BE WIPED OUT AND THE FABRIC INTERCONNECTS POWERED OFF.
Step 2 Using either the UCS manager CLI or GUI, verify the state (subordinate or active) of the existing (production) fabric interconnects.
!!! Step 3 Back up the software configuration information and the UCS Manager software !!!
Step 4 Disable the server ports on the subordinate fabric interconnect – NEW or EXISTING? THIS STEP IS CONFUSING AND IT IS REFERENCED IN STEP 17.
Step 5 Power down the EXISTING subordinate fabric interconnect by unplugging it from the power source. If you are monitoring the upgrade using a KVM session, you may need to reconnect the KVM session when you power down the fabric interconnect.
THE NEW FABRIC INTERCONNECT(S) SHOULD BE POWERED OFF AT THIS POINT
Step 6 Disconnect the cables running from the chassis IO Modules to the subordinate fabric interconnect ports in slot 1 (the old EXISTING fabric interconnect).
Step 7 Connect these cables into the corresponding ports in slot 1 on one of the new Cisco UCS 6248 UP fabric interconnect, using the connection records to preserve the port mapping and the configured server pinning.
See Fabric Interconnect Port Connection Record, on page 7.
See Fabric Interconnect Upgrade Considerations, on page 1.
Step 8 Disconnect the L1/L2, M1 management, and Console cables on the old fabric interconnect. The ports for these connections are on the opposite side of the interconnect, so if your cables are just barely long enough to connect two rack-adjacent UCS 6120 interconnects you will probably need new cables.
Step 9 Connect the M1 management, and Console cables to the new Cisco UCS 6248 UP.
Step 10 Connect the L1/L2 cables that were disconnected to the new Cisco UCS 6248 UP. L1 connects to L1, L2 connects to L2.
Step 11 Disconnect the Ethernet or FC cables from slot 2 of the old fabric interconnect.
Step 12 Connect the Ethernet or FC cables to the corresponding ports in slot 2 of the new Cisco UCS 6248 UP. Some may go to slot 1, depending on the mappings planned out earlier in the process
I HAVE NO SLOT 2 ON THE NEW FABRIC INTERCONNECTS ON THE OLD ONES, SIX PORTS IN SLOT 2 ARE CONFIGURED AS FIBER CHANNEL PORTS. WILL I NEED TO MANUALLY CONFIGURE LAST SIX PORTS AS FC PORTS? IF YES, AT WHAT STEP IS THIS CONFIGURATION DONE, AND ARE THE FIBER CHANNEL CABLES SUPPOSED TO BE PLUGGED IN BEFORE OR AFTER THE PORTS ARE CONFIGURED AS FC PORTS?
Step 13 Connect the power to the new Cisco UCS 6248 UP, it will automatically boot and run POST tests.
Important:         Directly connect the console cable to a terminal and observe the boot sequence. You should at some point see the Basic System Configuration Dialog, where you will configure the switch as a subordinate interconnect. - IS THIS THE WIZARD THAT RUNS ON EVERY UNCONFIGURED FABRIC INTERCONNECT WHEN YOU POWER IT ON, WHEN YOU HAVE TO GIVE IP, NAME, DNS, ETC.? CAN I USE THE SAME IP THAT WAS ON THE OLD FABRIC INTERCONNECT?
If you do not see this dialog, you either have different builds of software on your old primary and new subordinate, or the new subordinate has previously been part of a cluster and will need to have all configuration information wiped before it can be added to a cluster as a subordinate. In either case, immediately disconnect the L1 and L2 connections and complete the bringup as a standalone fabric interconnect, then correct the issue before proceeding further.
I AM NOT SURE IF THE NEXT STEP IS APPLICABLE TO ME AT ALL, AS I DO NOT HAVE N10-E0440, I HAVE N10-E0060. COULD YOU COMMENT ON THIS?
Step 14 (Optional) Remap UCS 6100 fabric interconnect FC ports 2/1 to 2/4 on a N10-E0440 expansion module or any slot 3 ports onto the new fabric interconnect expansion module.
    a) Use UCS Manager to delete the ports on the subordinate fabric interconnect that you will need to move within the configuration - WHERER DO I DELETE THE PORTS - ON THE NEW ONE?
    b) For each port you have just deleted, create new ports on either slot 1 or slot 2. These ports must use the same port type definitions as the old ports, but will use different port numbers.
    c) For recently moved Ethernet server ports, reconfigure the associated service profile to use the new port number for the appropriate LAN pin group.
    d) For recently moved uplink Ethernet ports, reconfigure the port channel settings to use the new ports.
    e) For recently moved uplink FC ports, reconfigure the associated service profile SAN pin group to use the new ports.
    f) Re-acknowledge chassis for blade servers and fabric extender for rack servers.
This will be disruptive to traffic, but is necessary in this specific scenario. DO I LOOSE CONNECTIVITY FOR THE ENTIRE CHASSIS, OR JUST ONE FABRIC?
Step 15 The new subordinate fabric interconnect will automatically synchronize the configuration and database/state information from the primary fabric interconnect. Synchronization between primary and subordinate fabric interconnects can take several minutes. The port configuration is copied from the subordinate switch to the new hardware.
Step 16 Verify that the data path is ready.
See Verifying that the Data Path is Ready.
Make sure all faults are resolved before proceeding.
    a) Verify and if necessary reconfigure the SAN pin group for FC ports in the associated service profile.
    b) Verify and if necessary reconfigure the LAN pin group for Ethernet ports in the associated service profile.
    c) Verify and if necessary reconfigure the port channel for uplink Ethernet ports.
THE FOLLOWING STEP IS ALSO CONFUSING. IF IT IS TALKING ABOUT THE OLD SUBORDINATE FABRIC INTERCONNECT THAT IS BEING REPLACED, WHY DO WE NEED TO ENABLE THE SERVER PORTS ON IT, THERE IS NOTHING CONNECTED TO IT. IF IT IS TALKING ABOUT THE NEW ONE - 6248, THEN, IT MEANS THEY HAVE TO BE DISABLED IN STEP 4, BUT IT MAKES NO SENSE, BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE ANY CONFIGURATION ON IT. CAN YOU CLARIFY?
Step 17 Enable the server ports that had been disabled in Step 4. -
    a) If you have changed port mappings, you may need to re-acknowledge the chassis or rack server connected to the subordinate fabric interconnect. DOES IT APPLY TO ALL TYPES OF PORTS – FC, SERVER, UPLINK ETHERNET PORTS?
    b) Verify and if necessary reconfigure Ethernet ports as server ports.
Step 18 Promote the subordinate fabric interconnect to active, and repeat the process on the second Cisco UCS 6248 UP. Cable the second new fabric interconnect identically to the first, and allow the reconfiguration done to be applied to the second new fabric interconnect as well. DOES THE SECOND NEW 6248 NEED TO BE OFF OR ON WHEN CABLING IT? DO I NEED TO GO THROUGH THE WIZARD AT THE POWER ON TO MAKE IT A PART OF THE CLUSTER?
See Forcing a Fabric Interconnect Failover.
2). Does CISCO have a document outlining the steps for adding a chassis?

  • Upgrading UCS hosts running Call Manager

    Hi all,
I have a client who currently runs CUCM etc on a UCS host running ESXi 4.1.
The client has upgraded their entire vurtualisation platform to ESX 5.0 and want to connect the CUCM UCS hosts to vCentre.
We have explained the pro's and con's of managing the UCS hosts in vCentre, but they want to pursue it.
My question is, what do i have to do to upgrade the UCS hosts to ESXi 5.0 without causing any serious issues with CUCM and other apps?
do i need any specific licenses to include the ESXi hosts to vCenter once i upgrade.
I dont know where the ESXi lice4nses are coming from, whether through an existing VMware agreement or OEM through Cisco.
    Cheers
    Darren

    Thanks Jonathan,
I'm still looking for a best practice process for upgrading the hosts to ESXi 5. usually we can just vmotion the VM's, put the host into maintanence mode and go on our merry way. As CUCM doesnt support vmotion, is there a way without impacting the CUCM (and other applications) VM's.
Im aware that I can shut down CUCM and the other application VM's and upgrade the hosts
I'll look into the license for the vCenter integration. Ive done this with BE6K so I'll assume its the same.
    Cheers
