We are trying to reinstall Lion but cannot remember which apple ID we purchased it under - mine or my husband's. We have tried both. Can you help me?
After unsuccessfully trying to upgrade to Mountain Lion on a Macbook Pro 2007, we need to reinstall Lion. Can't remember which apple ID we used when we purchased Lion at an Apple Store. We have tried both my husband's ID and mine. How can we get this information from Apple so that we can proceed with the reinstall?
Go here - http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/ - and try contacting support. While I still show Lion in my purchases, I can't seem to download it again as I am currently running 10.8. But I made a backup of the install app so that I have both Lion and Mountain Lion installers. If you are able to download it again, make certain that you quit the install app and make a USB flash drive installer or DVD using Lion DiskMaker (which also works with Mountain Lion).
I'm curious as to what sort of problems you encountered when installing ML? Did you make the install? Or did it quit or something?

Trying to reinstall LION but cant as disc is locked
Am trying to reinstall Lion but when I get to select where both options are locked how do i unlock or do i have to delete current instalation?
You should use Time Machine to backup your data, yes you can install leopard on your system from the original DVD that came with your iMac, but I would just reinstall Lion. Take a look at this link, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4718

my old version mac book air does not start up so i tried to reinstall lion but it says its locked. how do i unlock it with out being able to start up the system.
Could be. The "lock" isn't actually looking for a password.
WARNING: This will completely erase the ENTIRE hard drive.
What you would need to do is boot to recovery > disk utility > select the MAIN drive on the left side > partition > change partition layout from CURRENT to 1 PARTITION > ensure on the right side it says Format : Mac OSX Extended (Journaled) then push APPLY.
Then if it will allow us, close the windows until you see the 4 options popup again and select "Reinstall Mac OS X" select the Mac HD and you should be good to go! -
I am unable to update my apps... in my purchases page it appears as "update", then a message tells me to log on with the Apple ID I purchased the app with... Well I have tried my two different accounts and neither one will work, can someone help ??
And is there any way to sync all my purchases and accounts to just have one... It is a bit stupid that you dont even get a list of something of what account you may of used, or some kind of hint, so you could log on to the right account. I am really stuck ...
Please Advise......You can't merge accounts. But you can check your purchase history:

Also, what may seem stupid to you... may be a protection of privacy to others. -

I had itunes on another laptop which is no longer in use. I have changed my apple id to my email address which has completed fine. I cannot find the itunes I had on my account before that I had on my other laptop. Can you help?
Your music will only be where you put it. It does not magically appear in other places. Copy it from your old computer or your backup copy of your old computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup, not good, then you can redownload some itunes purchases in some coutries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store -

I have tried to renew my icloud subscription on my iphone. I have been unsuccessful after several attempts. The last time the reason give was that the security code of my credit card is incorrect. It is the number. Can you help?
Have you tried checking your payment information details to make sure the CVV (security) code is correct (see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1918)?

Trying to reinstall Lion, but "a recovery system can't be created"?
Hi guys
So, the over the last couple of months, my Macbook Pro from late-2011 started acting a bit slow, so the other day I figured it might be time to reformat and get a fresh start. At the time I had Mavericks installed and a Windows 7 Boot Camp partition. I erased the whole hard drive from Internet Recovery's Disk Utility and let it download and reinstall Lion on my newly created Mac OS Extended (Journaled) partition. Only it won't install. I get met with the error, that: Mac OS X cannot be installed, because a recovery disc can't be created.
I've searched a lot for what could cause this, but frankly I'm stumped, as all of the fixes list wiping the hard drive and reinstalling from scratch.
ThanksInstaller reports "This disk cannot be used to start up your computer"

Trying to reinstall Lion but do not have fast internet
Hi, I have a late 15in Macbook Pro Lion 10.7.2, currently using 200GB of my 500GB HDD, and all else standard hardware with basic 15in model from August 2011. The problem I am running into is I do not have a fast internet connection to perform the 'Lion Internet Recovery' program. I was wondering if there were any alternatives for me to reinstall Lion since I do not have access to the recovery partition any longer on my mac (because of the update I would assume.) Do I just downgrade/wipe my computer back to 10.7 in order to access the recovery partition on my HDD again, or does that not allow for it? What are my options? Thank you so much in advance.
About Lion Recovery
Recovery HD
OS X Lion includes a built in set of utilities in the Recovery HD. Restart your Mac and hold down the Command key and the R key (Command-R), and keep holding them until the Apple icon appears, indicating that your Mac is starting up. After the Recovery HD is finished starting up, you should see a desktop with a Mac OS X menu bar and a "Mac OS X Utilities" application window. Note: If you see a login window or your own desktop and icons, it is possible that you didn't hold Command-R early enough. Restart and try again.
In order to reinstall OS X Lion, you will need to be connected to an Ethernet or Wi-Fi network. The Wi-Fi menu item is in the upper-right corner of the screen. Click the icon to display all available Wi-Fi networks. Click your preferred network name and, if needed, enter a username and/or password.

Tip: In Lion the User's Library is hidden. See this article on how to view.

I would like to decide what pictures I put on my phone and which ones to delete NOT APPLE. This as you can see has really annoyed me, if any APPLE employees read these posts I would like to know how to get rid of. The Photo library and all of the folders made on iPhoto on my iMac, OFF MY iPhone. Thank you
Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.
1. You don't need to.
2. Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
3. Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
4. It restricts it to Wifi. If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
5. Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
6. The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say. It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though. -
needing help to change apple id email address. I went in settings and changed the email but the new one isn't showing up Ive called different support numbers and I changed email but it still shows up.
If you are talking about app updates, these are permanently tied to the Apple ID used to purchase the app, regardless of the ID on your phone in Settings>Store. The only way to stop the prompt for your older ID would be to delete these apps from your phone. The ID in Settings>Store is the one being used for current purchases, not updates of apps purchased using a different ID.
