Could be the charger, cable or iPad. Plug the USB cable into your computer. It may say "Not Charging", however, it is charging slowly and will verify that the cable is good.

Why is it that Apple cannot get their bluetooth technology right? The3GS does not even find the handsfree kit, computer etc? While a cheap $59 phone can do that from Nokia? why don't Apple get their act together?

And they are next to one another

Iphone connect to other devices as well. I connect via bluetooth all the time to my car. Like any other phone, it does not connect to ALL devices for ALL purposes.
You seem to have very little understanding of bluetooth technology. Perhpas you should read up on bluetooth before you begin a rant based on your ignorance of the subject.

If these apps are also iPad compatible, you can download them directly. Make sure you are logged into the App Store with the same Apple ID that made the purchase. (Settings > iTunes & App Stores)

When it comes to using AirPrint and it is not seeing your printer, the check the troubleshooting below to get it sorted out. You have already made sure it is on the same wireless network, so check to make sure that the printer does not need attention with any errors and check Epson’s website if there is any firmware updates for the printer.

If it doesn't support AirPrint then you could see if the printer manufacturer has their own app in the store which supports it (e.g. Epson have an iPrint app, and HP have an ePrint app). If not then there are third-party printer apps such as Print n Share and PrintCentral Pro which might work with it

You can try this ... hold down on the sleep button and the power button at the same time for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo on the screen, release the buttons and see if the iPad restarts and you can use it.

I will assum that you are using the latest version of iTunes 11. Do you even see the devices heading in the sidebar or do you even see the sidebar? If not, go to View>Show Sidebar from the iTunes menu so that it is visible.
If you have done all of that and the iPad still doesn't show up.....

Not knowing if you are using WiFi or cable syncing, you can simply try, quitting iTunes, reboot the Mac and restart the iPad and see if that helps.

I am puzzled at the moment.
I cannot get my iPad 1 to connect to iTunes to update my Apps.
I have connection to iTunes to view/buy apps but it wont connect to Apps update.
I have connection to the internet via safari so I know there is an internet connection????
I have done a full back up, sync, all software updates are up to date, and I have managed to do the App updates on my iPad 3, Iphone 4GS and iPod Touch without getting the "Cannot connect to iTunes Store. OK." message, but not on the iPad 1???.
How do I fix this?

Have you tried Settings>General>Date and time>Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead a year or so, you may have to experiment a little - then try to update the apps? You may get an error message and have to go back and correct the date and then it might work again.
