We got promised a great deal , but got a bad one.

We enquired online about a bt package, phone, broadband and vision. After this we called in and chose the package that would suit us best. To our surprise we were told that because we were in a lot of credit with BT, we could have everything , including line rental, broadband for just £12 a month. We also enquired about multiroom, and much to our surprise the telesales person said, yes it is possible, but don't buy extra boxes from us, get them off the high street, they are cheaper there!
   Wow, what a bit of luck, quickly completed the order and installed and set up everything that was sent.
Since found out , that it is NOT possible to do multiroom. (we were lied to)
  Been to the bank the other day and checked my account, guess what, BT not taking £12 as told but believe it or not taking £179.50. (lied to again)
  I am lost for words, have rung up and complained. The man who was most understanding said he would ask his manager to investigate, which would include listening to the original sales call.
   Got a call back from the manager, there was no recording of our sales call ( how ironic) and its all our fault, we should have read the small print! Asked to cancel the whole package, and was told, no problem, that will be £400 please.
They have offered to reduce the direct debit to £100 a month, but no chance of any refunds.
 Not at all happy with this level of sales tricks or back up service. I would like to take my complaint further, but no too sure which way to go.

So I am guessing you used your Home Hub Phone.
And also that you don't have an all in calling package.

  • Got a call from BT But got nothing yet.

    I know the subject looks funny, Sorry about that, ABout three weeks ago I got a call saying that I was Eligible for BT's Fibre Optic service, I said I would like to get it and I was given an Order Code, The guy said it could take up to 10 days for the BT Box to be sent out, then a guy will come out the next day and install it, Its 3 weeks now and I have no word yet.
    I'm From N.I, Now the resion im typeing this is due to my copper wire Internet droping connection, I dont want to request support when I could get the box at any time, So I would like to know if its normal to take more than 3 weeks?  They give me an order code and that o.0

    One possibility, is a strange occurence when applying the big 10.5.8 combo, most people have to Repair Permissions twice in a row, then reboot.

    It's not normal, presuming that the movie downloaded completely, but it has come up from time to time. I've not been able to figure out from the various posts why rentals work for most but in some cases insist on a connection to the iTunes store. Go here:

    to report the issue to the iTunes Store. Perhaps they can provide an explanation, though you may just get canned and rather inapplicable replies about how to rent or download.

    It does sound like the logic board. It's not uncommon for an iBook with a faulty logic board to work intermittently. You can't count on it, though. It could fail completely at any time.
    DT&T Computer Services in Fremont, California has the best deal I've found on logic board replacements. They do free diagnostics, so they would make sure that's what you need, and there is a six-month warranty on the repair.

    If you have the cable, just connect it to both and the desktop will show up on the external display. Then, you can select different modes, changing arrangement in System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement, or using shortcuts > http://support.apple.com/kb/ht5019

    How long did you wait for the systm to catch up to your request for more storage?  it can take a little while, up to an hour sometimes I have heard.
    If you don't see any more room after waiting a while, try resetting your phone to see if it appears then.

    The following is a calculated applescript step in a Filemaker script. It tells iCal to go to the date of an iCal event that the script has previously created from Filemaker. The code below keeps generating an error message: "Expected end of line but got identifier." Note: "ACTIVITY::Date" below is Filemaker's way of indicating the file name (ACTIVITY) and the field in question (date). Help appreciated.

    It's not clear exactly what you're aiming for here, so it's not easy to tell you how to fix it.
    At first glance I'd say you're missing a quote symbol or two, but even then it doesn't make a lot of sense without more context - for example, 'ACTIVITY::Date' isn't valid as an AppleScript variable name (you can't have a : in a variable name), and your code isn't within a Filemaker block, so it doesn't appear to relate to Filemaker, either.
    In either case the only thing that looks remotely valid to me would be:
    set theDate to date "\"" & ACTIVITY::date & "\""
    but without knowing the context of ACTIVITY::Date it's impossible to tell if this is valid, or how it differs from:
    set theDate to date ACTIVITY::Date
    (i.e., why the quotes are needed at all)

    Firefox also makes regular backups of your bookmarks in a folder named bookmarkbackups in your personal settings folder. You can restore the backup to your new Firefox, but unlike importing the HTML-format file, it is a complete drop-in replacement, so if you have saved new bookmarks you do not want to lose, the export/import method may work better for you.
    By default, Windows hides your personal settings folder so the easiest way to access it is from inside Firefox. You can use either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
    In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This will launch a window showing your Firefox settings files.
    You might want to back up this whole folder if you have other data you want to preserve from your XP computer.
    Either way, you should find the bookmarkbackups folder here and when you click into it, find maybe 10 files with dates in their names.

    Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
    Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

    If the old ID is an earlier version of your new ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your new iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  You can now use your new password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.
    Note: this will not work if your new ID is an entirely new ID that was never previously associated with the old email address.
