Your touch has a 400MHz processor and 128MB RAM, the 2nd Gen has a 500MHz processor and 128MB RAM, the 3rd Gen touch has a 600MHz processor and 256MB RAM, and the 4th Gen touch has a 800MHz processor with 256MB RAM... Obviously yours cannot handle the new OS as it was designed primarily with the 3rd and 4th Gens in mind... It's like older computers cannot support newer OS (ie a computer built for windows xp cannot handle windows 7 and a computer built for panther cannot handle leopard.)

My iPod touch 5 don't tell me when I get a new message or any kind of notification the screen stays black and you can't even hear the sound . I have already tryed going to settings notification to turn every apps on . HELP me please !

I did the itunes update last night and i'm using a 1st generation ipod touch for music for my fitness classes. The device is no longer recognized in itunes after last night's update.

IPod Shuffle 1st Generation not recognised on only one of my computers

The iPod can be recognised on my netbook running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit and my desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. However, on one desktop which is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit, it does not recognise the iPod in iTunes. In device manager, I can see 'Apple iPod USB Device' and 'Unknown Device'. This 'Unknown Device' only occurs when I plug in the iPod. 'My Computer' can't see it either. I had a look in 'Disk Management' and I saw 'Removable Disk' and 'No media'. I reinstalled iTunes and the drivers many times but nothing changes. I even tried an alternative to iTunes but that didn't work either. I also tried switching USB ports to no avail. I am very confused why it only doesn't work with one computer.

Sorry I just realised it's an iPod Shuffle 2nd Generation. I'm terribly sorry for not realising it earlier. Could someone possibly move this to the right forum?
Anyway, when I said the computer doesn't recognise the iPod, if I wait a long time, iTunes will eventually see it and say it is 'corrupted' and suggests restoring it. It still works fine on my other two computers. I tried restoring it as it suggested but it just gets stuck on 'Restoring iPod' for hours and nothing happens.

Cannot open the file I have downloaded to get a new version of Photoshop

I have had a new computer, and am trying to download the Photoshop Elements 10 again, but I cannot open the file that I get after 20 minutes of downloading from here: Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10

Ipod touch 1st generation not showing wifi

I have a 8GB 1st generation itouch with iOS 3.1.3 and in settings, wifi isnt grayed out but is unclickable. i looked inside and i thing that little piece of metal on the back cover is making contact with the wifi antenna itself. what can i do?

Ipod touch 1st generation not showing up on mac mini G4 1,42

Our children use a mac mini 1,42 (MacOs 10.4, latest revision) and our daughter syncs her iPod nano 6 with her itunes library (iTunes 9.x). I created a separate account for our son and tried to connect my old 1st gen touch to the mini for him. unfortunately the touch does not connect on the mac mini's USB port (no charging, nothing in System Profiler, evidently no syncing). The nano does. Both ipods connect to my Macbook Black (2007 2,16 GHz Intel, MacOs 10.6.7, iTunes 10), as do our iPhones …
… any ideas, not enough current on the minime?

I am amazed, that after reinstalling iTunes 9.2.1 on MacOS 10.4 after removing the kernel extension and the package receipt everything works as expected.
before reinstalling, the iPod touch neither did load, nor showed up in System Profiler.
So – problem solved, back to normal …

Ipod shuffle 1st generation not recognized by itunes

Right after I updated to itunes 12, my first generation ipod shuffle will not longer be recognized by itunes. I run Windows 7 and it is recognized when I open up windows explorer, but I can't get to it in itunes. Any help?? Thanks!

The 1st gen shuffle has REALLY excellent sound. It is better than 2nd gen shuffle, and other iPods, for sound. Because it has a separate docking connection (the USB plug), it is the only shuffle that can play music while it is charging. Plus, I like being able to hold it in my hand and control it (not clipped).
Because I liked it so much, a few years ago, I bought some broken ones being sold on eBay. Using these instructions

I took them apart and tried to assemble working ones by swapping parts. Fortunately, the 1st gen shuffle is small, but not tiny. Unfortunately, the most common failure point (by far) was USB plug component (including a very delicate ribbon cable that connects to logic board). I have plenty of "spare parts" now, except for that USB plug part. So I am VERY careful when connecting and disconnecting my remaining working 1st gen shuffle, and try to do it as infrequently as possible.

I installed the new version because itunes had not recognised my ipod nano 5G, and told me to reinstall. Itunes selected which version to install, so I don't understand what is going on. To add insult to injury it installed a pile of malware which I am still trying to get rid off.
Any advice would be helpful

I use an iPod nano 5th generation. I have had it for about two years now and after about one year, I plugged in my iPod into my computer to sync more music. Here is the problem: The tab where you go to sync music to your iPod and shows the list of artists and songs you want to sync to the iPod, the tab I can get to but the list of songs and artists does not show up and the only way I can sync music to my iPod is to basically wipe my iPod and start from scratch. Obviously, I do not want to do that because I do not have all the songs in my library that I have on my iPod. I have uninstalled iTunes and then re-installed it, but it did not work and I do not know what else to do. I would really appreciate helpful guidance to get it fixed if it can be fixed.
