Dear Ram,
1.Check what selection ID is maintained in OPPQ for the plant for BOM selection.
2.For this selection ID set the first priority to Engg BOM for BOM usage - 2 in OS31.
Check with this and revert back.

I'd like to know how to assign a print indicator to the movement type GR for Production Order 101_F
When I use the IMG path : Material management/ Inventory Management and Physical Inventory/ Print Control/ Maintain Print Indicator for Goods Receipt Document, I can only assign the movement type 101 (Goods receipt) but not the movement 101_F.

Hello Dev!
The movement 101 F is Goods Receipt for Production Order. The letter "F" corresponds to the movement indicator.
I'd like to dissociate the movements types 101 and 101_F to have only one printed label.

Want to change BOM usage from production 1 to design 2

Dear Experts ,
Is it possible to change BOM usage from production 1 to design 2 ? Any mass change T code ?

If I make BOM universal , I need to ,make alternative BOM as Engineering BOM will have several levels and production BOM has all the components and assy on single level .
MRP might pick up wrong BOM .
Is there any T.code by which we can make mass copy or change BOMs . AS in system there are many BOMs which needs to be copied as is with new usage .

BOM Selection Mandatory while creation of Production Order

Hello Friends,
I would like to know that is there any option other than production version which makes it mandatory to have valid BOM must for creation of Production order / coversion of planned order to Production order.
I have tried with Production version option but it doesnt throw any error in case BOM with inactive status has been selected in it & also Production order gets created & released.
Before going for user exit / enhancement option, I just wanted to ensure that it is not possible with standard SAP.
Kindly share your views on the same.

At the time of confirmation Costs are loaded to Production order

At the time of confirmation of the Production orders the costs are not
debited/loaded to the Production order. They are not
credited to the cost centers although all the necessay master data (Work
centers, Cost centers, cost rates ) is there in SAP.

1. Check whether the operation is assigned with Costing Relevancy Indicator and has a control key relevant for costing.
2. Check whether in the routing the activity type is seen and it has some standard values maintained.

Assembly indicator in BOM doesnu2019t consider BOM Usage

In a business scenario we are using two types of BOM 1. Production BOM & 2. Engineering BOM.
Letu2019s say for Material 'A' there is an engineering BOM & it consists of two components say 'B' & 'C'.
Material 'C' has its own BOM but with usage "Production".
Still in transaction CS03, when we display Engineering BOM (Usage: 2) for Material A.
Assembly indicator for material 'C' is active though there is no engineering BOM for material 'C'.
Is there is any condition for checking BOM usage for assembly indicator? Or what can be the solution to take into consider BOM usage.
PP gurus please help.

BOM usage defines the area (such as engineering/design or production) where a BOM can be used.
when ur material A is having C as component and C is having its own bom so it will show that in the system. bom usage is only for using the bom in diffrent area
if u have an engineering/design BOM and if u want to use that in production that time it will give an error
or massage that BOM usage is not as per requriement

can some one explain me where sales bom is uned.
is there any chance where we can use it in a production process.

While using the material in each dept. the usage differs so for that sap provided this function. for sales bom is used only sales and also that material already exist in the plant. and mm bom the material has to procure from the some third party that all functionality will control throgh the maitaning bom usage.
You can use OS20 T code for the usage.

BOM Usage and Sales order BOM

Can some one bring our the difference between BOM usage in the creation of a material bom and a Sales order BOM - To be more specific, when you are creating a BOM using the tcode cs01, I get a field called BOM usage where I can select it as 5 and define it as relevant to Sales and Distribution. I can also create a BOM which is Sales order specific using CS61 tcode. what is the difference between the two? When will the bom created using CS61 explode and when will the other one explode?

BOM Usage
Definition
This key defines the area (such as engineering/design or production) where a BOM can be used.
Use
By setting various indicators, you can define the maximum configuration of the item status and define whether an item must be or cannot be processed in a particular area (such as production).
Examples
A material is used in the areas production and costing in a company. For each area, you maintain a separate BOM with different items:
Production BOM:
This BOM contains items that are relevant to production. These items are copied to the planned order. Dependent requirements are generated for them, and they are copied to the production order.
Costing BOM:
This BOM contains items that are relevant to determining the material costs of a product.
When you calculate production costs using a quantity structure, the system automatically determines the BOM and all the BOM items that are relevant to costing, in order to calculate manufacturing costs.

Mass Realease of Production Order of BOM Item Multi Level

      I have one requirement from client, if i release fert or halb production order then it will relaese all order as per BOM.
how it's possible, what are setting required for this. i used sp proc 52 for all materials in bom. in this some material are serilized & non serilized also.

I understood that you are expecting the full cycle for special procurement key 52. See the below steps for the same.
1.     For your SFG good you have to set the SPK 52 in MRP 2 material master. This has to done for all SFG goods.
2.     SPRO Settings t code OPJH
If the indicator set and not set ( Collective order with automatic goods movements)
You always set this indicator if you want to treat production orders that are linked to collective orders in the same way with respect to costs as production orders that are not linked to collective orders.
If this indicator is set and if you have used the special procurement key for the secondary requirements of a material to be produced to define that a collective order is generated then there are automatic goods movements between the production orders in a collective order. This means that a subordinate production order delivers the material he produces to stock. At the same time as the goods receipt posting a goods issue posting is made for the superior order. When the goods movement is
posted
costs are credited from the subordinate order
costs are debited to the superior order
If this indicator is not set then, in the case of collective order processing, there are no goods movements between the individual
Production orders. The costs collected for each order are then settled
to the superior order in period-end closing.
These are the main steps if you have any query, donu2019t hesitate to revert.

Document Flow from BOM to Production Orders

Dear SAP Gurus,
I have attached a few documents at header level of the BOM. I have also attached document at item level in the BOM. When I create a production order these documents are not flowing to Production Order. Is there any way to do that. I also want to see them in CS11 and CS12 reports.
In OPKP I have already checked Document Links-BOM "On Creation" and "On Release" for my production scheduling profile.

I have three documents. One is attached at the BOM header level under the documents tab. The second with item category D is entered as a line item in the BOM Items. The third is in the Item Level under the item's documents tab in the item details. All have same document type.
When I create the production order the second document is copied in the document overview of production order. First and Third are nowhere to be seen.
Is there any config or user exit to achieve the same?

Dear Geravine,
You can use a Production Scheduling profile to specify that in a production order or process order
particular business transactions are carried out in parallel
generation of document link from material master on order creation
generation of document link from BOM on order creation
generation of document link from material master on order release
generation of document link from BOM on order release
Include the check boxes for Document links for material and BOM both under order creation and order release.
Check in T Code OPKP.
But in my understanding only the document that are attached to the header and the items with D category alone gets
transferred to the production order.

Add a new component in Production order while not being in BOM

Hi all,
I would like to know how to forbid the addition of a new component in a Production order that doesn't exist in the BOM.
Currently when we create a Production Order, the components of its materials are read from the BOM. If we add a component that doesn't exist in the bom the system allows it without any problem. We want to forbid this and let components be added to a PO only when they take part in the BOM.
Any idea?

You can use an userexit to check before saving the order, based on the BOM(Order master data tab) used in the order, it should validate the component material number. If it finds a new material in the order, it should terminate the save with a message to user.
The following enhancement is available for production orders:
PPCO0008 Enhancement for adding and changing components
This enhancement is used to check components (for instance against a standard parts database), which have added to or changed in an order. This check can then refuse to copy a component into the order or can replace one material number with another.
The enhancement PPCO0008 contains the following enhancement components:

EXIT_SAPLCOMK_006
Enhancement for adding and changing components
Activities
1. Create the enhancement
To do so, create a new project or use an existing project.
2. Activate the project.
The enhancement can only take effect after you have activated the project.

Thanks for info ,have u heard of BOM usage ? like 1 for production / 5 for sales bom .So When u creating the production order Sap will explode BOM of the FG material , So there is no BOM that is only for production order.
But i will agree with ur problem , what is user can delete Some materials in the Final Confirmations of Production orders So to resolve this issue USE table <b>RESB </b> with RSNUM of AUFK-AUFNR.

Batch Determination in Production Order Component Overview Screen on the basis of FIFO, Thickness, Grade, width etc.

I am facing a difficult scenario. Pl. help me out. In my Business Process I am assigning Batches in Production Order Component Overview Screen. Here I am assigning relevant batches to BOM Components manually, My Management want SAP to suggest batches automatically on FIFO basis, thickness, grade, width & first batches should automatically assign to Production order. Can you pl. tell me how to configure this scenario.
Or can I pull stock overview screen at Production Order Component screen to assign relevant batch to BOM Components
Once batches assigned in Production Order component screen cannot be changed. It can be changes by specific persons only.

To see the cost of production order after settlement to header material

hello guys,
   In make to stock,we settle the total cost of prodution order on header material,right(if we keep as the default rule( distribution rule in order type)?
     If i want to see that cost of production order which we settled against the header material,where should i check it?should i check in material account or somewhere else?

There is a little missunderstanding in your thought.
If the material of price control S, When you do the GR, the STD cost of material is deducted from production order cost, then when you settle the production order, the variance is settled to variance account/PD account. hence the production order cost balance is zero.
Example- Production order cost is 60000
After GR the production order cost balance is 60000-50000 = 10000.
After settlement production order cost balance is zero.
Now your question is where can i see the production order cost?
You can see the production order cost in the production order itself.
In the production order...cost disply option just filter the origin with test settlement and GR.
Then total up the cost, then you can see the cost as 60000.
