Installing mavericks brings pages 5.0 along somehow.
PAGES 5.0 IS A TOTAL DISASTER.
Worst, you can't do anything about it! I have several computers i use in office, home, all shynced, made the mistake of updating to Mavericks and pages come along on one of them, easy to open an old pages document, but then, you don't have any means to get back, it saves the document automatically and you can't open it anymore with pages 4, you can recover old versions because you'll need to open the document for that. So you just lost your document.
Pages 5.0 lost many of its functionalities, the interface is fuzzy, you can't find a simple "Delete page", no facing pages, no linked text boxes, and the import from previous version is a joke.
As a dedicated Apple power user since the emerging of Mac OS X, I feel disapointed, defrauded, angry because somebody is playing with my work. Ivested a lot on pages, have many publications written in Pages i can't use now.
I kindly demand Apple the right to use Pages 4.0, which I bought, and the ability to recover the work losses caused by that DISASTER you call pages 5.0.Unfortunately, many of my documents (100 plus page documentation!!!) have already been destroyed. The ASSumption is that the user will open the document through PAGES. When the default double click in Finder opens the file in the wrong version, it's too late. Closing the document automatically saves it. (Due to the other stupid quirk of Pages.... no save, save as, and don't save function - only save by overwriting the file.)
By the time we found out that pages 4.xx was still on our machines, all of our primary documents had been screwed up beyond repair.
No rulers? No inspector? Screwed up page views? Lost templates? No RTF format for documents???..... Good grief, they should have told us it was a completely different program.
I don't have time to continuely retrain my staff everytime Apple wants to Maverick something?!! scroll up is now scroll down??? Safari's "open in a new window" and "open in a new tab" are backwards? Why such stuid changes? Leave it the X#%#C ALONE!!! -
Why can I not deauthorize computers when I want to, rather when big brother apple lets me?
I know big borther apple wants to control my music, but why? I have either forgotten to deauthorize some old computers I got rid of, or had to re-format the ones I own. So why does big brother apple control when I can and cannot deauthorize my computers?
What are you talking about?
You can deauthhorize wheneever you like, however, you can only deauthorize all once per year.
If you need more than that then contact itunes support and ask.

In the future time lets say a month will apple let us go back to ios 6?
A question to apple HQ. Do you want your apple customers to be happy and not disapointed with the new updates. Or maybe they just want their old version that they liked back on there iphone. If you like to keep loyal and satisfide customers would you make them happy?
Out of all the people i know, only about one third of them actually like the newest update (ios7)
I am not making a biased report based on my opinions. i am simply trying to provoke apple to let us download and restore our iphones to the version we previously had, and if you like ios7 so be it keep it.
If apple would let their customers choose between the new updates and the old, A lot of people would be satisfide and they would want to stick with apple. and when a new update come out you can choose to upgrade or downgrade. Isnt it our freedom to choose the update we want? yes I chose to update, and maybe i dont like it, but will apple let their customers, like me, choose what they want to be happy? I want to back up an Iphone 3G and put all the content into Iphone 4. After I have backed up the Ipone 3G and then when Iphone 4 is connected to Itunes I do not get an Option to restore back up from Iphone 3G. The only devive is see in the drop down list is my Iphone 4. The IOS on Iphone 3G is 4.2.1 and on Iphone 4 is 4.1.
Please share if anyone has any solution to such a problem.You will first have to update your iPhone 4 in order to restore it from the backup of your 3G. Follow the directions here:

This is an erase/restore deal, so make sure all of your data is on your computer before you begin. iOS 6.1.2 will be installed on your iPhone 4.
Once done, on your iPhone 4: Settings>General>Reset>Erase All Content & Settings. You'll now be able to restore your 3G backup to your iPhone 4. -

I have forgotten my password for iPod Touch 4G and it is now disabled. I tried connecting to iTunes but i haven't synced before and i need to enter the password before i can back it up so i can restore it. I don't want to lose pictures so please HELP!
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO MAVERICK UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DEPENDED ON APPLE’S CLOUD. It removes the ability to sync Calendar, Notepad, and Contacts between your apple devices. You then can only sync them via Apple’s Cloud. For those of you like me, that do not want to be depended on an external data base accessible via the Internet or Cel Phone (with data charges).
Why do I not want to use the Cloud to sync and backup?
1. I found I only have one device with me at a time or am sitting at a computer when I add to my calendar, make a note, or add/change a Contact. Syncing with iTunes while upgrading apps and doing a back up to two external hard drives worked great and met my needs.
2. I use WiFi and pay for the minimum data plan with my Cel provider (AT&T). I do not want to pay higher monthly data fees.
3. I do not like a central data base (that will be hacked someday) having the personal info I have in my Notes, Schedule, and Contacts.
4. I like the security of my most important data being on my own hard drives and written off to Data DVD’s, not subject to even rare central system outages/failures.
5. I do not like the prospect of becoming dependent on a Cloud in which the provider could decide at any time to either start selling information or charging monthly fees to recover the costs of providing the cloud.
I am reluctant to go to the trouble to go back to 10.8 because Apple will eventual stop providing updates to 10.8 and 10.8 compatible applications.
PLEASE APPLE, GIVE US SYNCING VIA ITUNES BACK!!!!!! Why take away one of the most valuable features of iTunes???? Why take away our choice of syncing via the Cloud or locally with iTunes????You will need to contact Apple through their feedfack channel. These are user to user forums, sorry.

I want IOS 7 until Apple figures out wifi in IOS 8
Why can't I revert to IOS 7 until Apple figures out how to make wifi work in IOS 8? All of my devices have created wifi nightmares, both at home and at work, since IOS 8. At home, the router started freaking out the moment IOS 8 was installed. At work, wifi is useless since IOS 8. Apple has had numerous software revs to get this ironed out, and it continues to be a failure. I want to be able to roll back, why should this be prohibited?
Side note: I find it hilarious that I can't submit to this forum from an IOS device using Safari, I had to use my windows laptop. Awesome.No, I haven't contacted apple support, you got me there.
Since it occurred on both my iPad and iPhone when I updated to ios 8 (at roughly the same time), I think any reasonable person could assume that it's not faulty hardware.
My problem is that by the time I figured out it was IOS causing all my headaches and not my network hardware, Apple decided to stop signing IOS 7, so I couldn't revert. -

When plugging the old Iphone into my laptop it only gives two options; set up as new Iphone or restore from previous back up (which is my Ipad from last June)
How can I get a back up from my Iphone on Itunes.

Please Apple, explain why iOS 8 was born, it caused a lot of issues.
Hi There,
Last Monday i went to the Apple Store, and received a new iPhone 5s, with a swap repair. I was very exited and happy with it, until.... IOS 8.0.2. showed up.
i did an OTA update and everything went fine, until the moment i would like to place a call or do something, that need to make a connection with my mobile provider.
For exemple, browse the internet using 3G, Change settings which have something to do with my provider, like turn on or off caller id, or anything like that. The worst of all is that i can't receive any sms, or incoming call. And when i would like to place a call, I've got the message Call Filed, please try again, and if im lucky it would work after pressing try again for something like 10 times.
So what I've tried to fix this issue is,
Restore all network settings, (it dit work for a few minutes) after those minutes the same issue...
Restore complete back to default fabric settings of iOS 8.0.2. without placing back an backup. (it doesn't work)
And since apple still provides iOS 8.0, I've even tried to restore from 8.0.2 to 8.0 it so technically I've downgraded. (but still no luck)
And even though the device is just a few days old, I've tried to remove, clean and replace the sim card. (but it still doesn't work, again a five minute fix...)
Temporary fixes that worked for max 5 minutes or less.
Turnning on and of airplane mode.
Like i said before, I've tried to remove, clean and replace the sim card.
and last but not least Rebooting the device...
So i've got one question left, please Apple re provide iOS 7.1.2 again, until all of the iOS 8, 8.0.2 bugs are fixed. Cause if the main reason of purchase every iPhone that introduced the world was stability and a overall amazing good quality, but right now im stuck with a to expensive iPod touch in the skin of an iPhone 5s.. and really unstable, it is the exact opposite from what everyone expect from an quality brand like Apple. i hope that there is a way to deal with this issues for good... Apple does not support downgrading an iOS, and removes the older version's files from the server when the new version becomes available. There is no legitimate way back.
