Weather App in Portal

Hello,
I'm working on a UML document for creating a weather application in EP. This weather application currently exists in SAPNET (mySAPNet) and I guess it pulls the weather info directly from weather.yahoo.com. (I did a view source on the page and found a javascript referring to yahoo weather). To implement in the portal, Can we actually use yahoo weather info in the portal without any proprietary issues? Is there an alternate way from where we can pull current weather info?

In SP9 and on there is a new transformation service, which can make XML transformation simpler. See Transformation Service in the portal developer guide on help portal.
In SP12, there is a new content provider framework, which is built on top of the transformation service, that helps you create iViews from thrid-party content. It helps with setting parameters and authentications. See Displaying External XML Content in the portal developer guide.

Weather App that reports to your notification center at a specified time?

Here's the scenario:
I work outdoors and live in the Midwest so the weather can and often does vary A LOT from day to day.
I plug my iPad in for the night and go to sleep.
When I wake up, I hit the home button to see my notification center. Contained there is the report from this weather app, telling me the basic information immediately: Current temperature, the day's high/low, any preciptiation chance.
Now here's the added bonus that I really want:
Everyone knows the temperature changes drastically from night to day, so a temperature reading would need to be taken near to the time that you wake up. What if you could set this app to display the information at a certain time? It's a concept just like an alarm where an action is triggered at a specified time, in this case, weather readings. Say I'm getting up at 6am. I'd set the app to report at 5:55am or something like that.
OR the much simpler apprach would just be to add a weather widget of some sort to the lock screen. If that's an option, I'd gladly go for that as well.
So does anything like this exist?

I found the solution to my question. I had a feeling it was something really easy that I was just missing. Thanks! Feel free to delete this thread. I would but I'm not sure how or if I even can.

You are correct that things would be easier if it was automatic. However, you will generally find that it is a program with a built-in scheduler, such as a backup program or a video recording program, that left some code behind even if the program was trashed or removed from the system.
As far as the PDP11, I don't think I could afford the electricity to run one even if I had one. The PDP11 is the first computer I was exposed to in medical imaging. I list it because every once in a while it draws out the truth from folks like yourself when they admit to knowing what one is.
I think the first disk drives that thing used were housed in recycled washing machines using the old motors to drive the spindles.

URGENT! Need help to portalize a Strut JSP App for Portal!

Hi,
I have create a little application using Strut ADF. This application only have one page. Can someone tell me how to portalize this in order to deployed it in Portal. I have create my DataSource in OEM and the only thing left is to portalize this jsp.
I have read the "How to create a Struts Portlet" but I don't understand it.
Please help me deployed this app to Portal. Is there any tutorial about this?

You will also need to download the relevant tag library for the pdk-struts extensions.
You can also download the java portlet wizard as an add-in for jdeveloper. This makes the creation of the files (for example provider.xml) required by portal easier.

My weather app is missing

My weather app went missing on my iPad (3). Is Siri the only way to access it now?

Never mind... I just found the answer - there is no weather app on the iPad like the iPhone - (other than using Siri). I have other weather apps - I was just wondering if I pooched my iPad or not.

Check the settings, it might be on Celsius and not Fahrenheit.

Weather app error

Hello Sony,
I am receiving "Server error" or "internal server error" every time I am clicking on "15 day forecast" in weather app. Clicking this opens my browser (Opera mobile in this case) and displays the error message.
I am on WiFi with very good signal strenght.
Please solve the issue.

It seems it was a temporal accu weather issue, probably they reset the server. It is working fine again. Please close this thread.

If you are having an issue with your iPhone's weather application not performing as expected, I would suggest a few things to troubleshoot.
First, if as your configuration states you are still running iOS 8.0.2, you may want to install the latest update to iOS 8.1. For how to do this see this article -

If the issue is still present, try quitting all applications and test again -
iOS: Force an app to close
Try turning your iPhone off and on again -
Turn your iOS device off and on (restart) and reset
If the issue is stil present you will want to back up any data on the iPhone and set it up as a new device -

My weather app is not working on cell data??

The weather app that came on my iPhone 4s doesnt work when im using 3g. It only works when im using wifi. Is anyone else having this problem? How can i fix it?

I have the same problem on my iPhone 4 iOS 5.1.1 and updating to iOS 6 did not fix it. I even tried a restor as new device and still have the same problem. Now I think it is carrier specific. I have contacted customer support 2 days ago and they said they will look into it, still have not heard from them though.

Ok so you know with IOS 7 the weather app got new effects like when it rains, you can actually see rain falling in front of your screen, my weather app doesn't have that. I tried restoring my iPhone but that did not work. Any advice?

Are weather graphics shown for locations other than your own? If so, then detailed weather information probably isn't available for your location.

I have a few recommendations for this issue you describe. First if you havent already, restart the phone.

If the issue persists after that, then I suggest toggling the Location Services off and then back on in settings outlined here:
Turning Location Services on or off
You can turn Location Services on or off at Settings > Privacy > Location Services. You can turn Location Services on either during the Setup Assistant process or later through the Location Services setting. You can turn it off if you don't want to use this feature or to conserve battery life. You can individually control which applications and system services have access to Location Services data.
