Weather Bar Feature Added in Microsoft Outlook 2013

Hi,
I found that a new Weather Bar has been added in Outlook 2013. Can anyone please explain that how this tool works and how we can use it effieciently?
Thank u..

You add your location to it and it displays the currently selected location on the calendar. There really isn't much to it - you can save multiple locations but outlook only shows one. You need to select a different location, outlook doesn't change it based
on a current appointment or anything like that.

  • PDFmaker not converting Jpg attachments to emails in Microsoft Outlook 2013

I am having problems converting jpg attachments to emails in Microsoft Outlook 2013 using PDFmaker. I'm running Adobe Acrobat 11 and just updated it to the latest version and that did not solve the problem.
I can convert the emails and Word attachments and can convert the jpgs manually by saving them to my desk top and then adding them as attachments to the resulting PDF but I have several emails each was several attachments that I want to save and it will take me hours to do it manually.
I was thinking there might be some security setting on the jpgs that is preventing PDFmaker from automatically converting them.
I already confirmed that the Preference Conversion Setting is selected to include all attachments in the Adobe PDF. I also unselected the box that reads "block download of external content" but it did not help.

Manual method is a difficult task .You can easily transfer your mails from the Thunderbird to MS Outlook using third party conversion software.i faced the same problem.i tried the following utility. It converts all my Thunderbird accounts to a single PST.you can also try the free demo version of the software.

  • How to import Thundebird archives in Microsoft Outlook 2013??

I have some old thhunderbird files that I archived long time back. Now I need to access them but I dont have my mac with me. I have been rumming Microsoft Outlook 2013 and would like to import these files in Outlook as well. But Outlook doesn't support
these files. So is there any possible way to perform this import process in simple and easy manner??

    Hi Brian,
The suggestion provided by ahuibers is what I usually suggest to users if they want to migrate items from a third-party mail client to Outlook, which takes the IMAP feature to sync items on one mail client to the other. It is easy and secure.
There are also third-party tools to convert the archive to .pst file which can be imported to Outlook, my suggestion is to keep a backup of the archive before doing so, in case permanent damage is done to the archive, which may lead to mail loss.

  • NVIDIA Optimus Display Driver for Windows 7 (64 Bit) interfering with Microsoft Outlook 2013

    Lenovo Community
Can't explain it nor do I understand it but it appears that the latest NVIDIA Optimus Display Drivers (Version 9.18.13.1270 / 8.15.10.2725, dated 05 Jan 2014) is interfering with Microsoft Outlook 2013. For a week I have been working with Microsoft Technical and Lenovo's Premium Support to no avail. I have reformatted my hard drive 4 times and uninstall and reinstalled Office 2013 Pro more time than I can to remember. The issue stared last Tuesday (18 Mar 2014) when I uploaded new drivers from Lenovo and Microsoft. Outlook would not execute (the initial Outlook dialog would just say processing ....) For four day's Microsoft, Lenovo, and I trouble shot everything under the sun. What was odd was whenever Microsoft or Lenovo technicians took control of my computer Outlook worked fine, and when I stated this to the technicians they thought I was nuts, but once I had control the problem returned. Finally frustrated to the hill I once again reformatted my hard drive but this time installed the Lenovo updates and software one at a time creating numerous restore points along the way. When I updated the new NVIDIA drivers the problem resurfaced.  When I would go into the device manager and uninstall the NVIDIA driver’s outlook once again worked fine.  I finally was able to reinstall (through my restore points) the previous version of drivers and Outlook is working fine.  Is there something to this. ??????
    Jeff

I always avoid Optimus, it's historically been way too buggy and very little performance bump over HD4000/4600.  I either opt for Quadro machines or just run Intel integrated.  That being said, it's a blessing in disguise for you since Outlook is hideos.  Consider something else, so many better options exist.

  • ICloud 2.1.1 not working with Microsoft Outlook 2013?

HI, I needed some assistance from the experts here.
I just had my laptop reformatted and redownload & installed the latest version of iCloud 2.1.1 Control Panel for Windows & Microsoft Office 2013.
When I click on the buttom "Apply" to setup outlook for iCloud, i got this error message at Step 4 of 7. It keeps refreshing these 2 sentences "Downloading Contacts from iCloud" & "Uploading Contacts to iCloud" & eventually errored out with this error message "Your setup couldn't be started because of an unexpected error".
I checked my Microsoft Outlook 2013 & there is an iCloud Plug-In.
But clicking on the "Go Online" button doesn't do anything.
I used to be able to click on a "Go Online/Refresh" button in the past (with Microsoft Office 2007) and able to then synchronise new contacts in my outlook to iphone. But apparently, this doesn't work anymore.
Thereafter, I tried uninstalling iCloud 2.1.1 and reinstalling it again immediately (without rebooting my laptop) & the same error message occurs when i tried to setup outlook for iCloud. And the worst thing is now the "iCloud plug-in" disappear inside Microsoft Outlook 2013 totally.
I tried reading several threads and got confused.
Is iCloud 2.1.1 Control Panel for Windows not compatible with Microsoft Outlook 2013 yet?
Do I just have to wait for a new release from Apple or did i do something wrong in the installation of the softwares?
Aprpreciate the assistance from some experts here.

Well it's now the 14th and no replies, so have you sorted it.
I could not get Outlook 2013 working with the control panel, although was working it was saying it was not configured.
Worse still tried going back to Outlook 2007 and it did not want to know, in the end a disk image restore was required.
I will try Outlook 2013 again in a few months maybe.

  • I can't email pdf's from Adobe professional 11.0.5 using default mail client Microsoft Outlook 2013 32 bit

I am using Adobe Professional v 11.0.5 and have moved from Microsoft Outlook 2010 to 2013 now I am unable to e-mail pdfs directly to local configured mail client. As a work around I have to save file to desktop and place as an attachment in newly composed e-mail. What needs to be done here to resolve? Thanks

    Hi jkmay01,
In your Acrobat Preferences under Email Accounts, click Add Account>Other
In the Add Webmail Account window, input your email account details
Under Advanced Settings, configure your incoming and outgoing ports and security settings per your email account
Click OK, and then click Add. In the window, click the email account you just added and click "Make Default"
When it's set as the default mail account you'll see a check mark
Let me know if this helps.

  • Having screen rendering / memory problems with Microsoft Outlook 2013 and full screen mode with large 2560x1440 dual monitors

MS Outlook 2013 seems to work fine for a while until a) enough time passes or b) I have multiple MS Outlook windows open. Then I start to see all sorts of graphical issues ranging from certain parts of the outlook window not rendering to certain functions
locking etc.  Occassionally, when I decrease from full screen I get the screens to render correctly, making me think there's something unique with full screen mode that is causing the issue.   There seems to me to be quite a bit of memory issues
    with this version.
I have a beast of a graphics card, 32gb of RAM, and a fast SSD, so don't think its the machine.
    Thoughts?

    Hi,
Does this happen to other applications?
If it's specific to Outlook, consider to check the hardware acceleration option:
Go to FILE tab -> Options -> Advanced -> Display -> Disable hardware graphics acceleration, turn this option on or off to check the result.
If the issue persists, please also consider whether any 3rd-party add-ins are interfering with Outlook, we can start Outlook in Safe Mode:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
If there's no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which caused the problem.

  • Cannot migrate data from Microsoft Outlook 2013

I'd very much like to use Thunderbird, however once it is installed and I try to import my Outlook 2013 data (contacts, folders, etc.) I receive this message:
"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the message request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."
I have followed all the steps I found online to ensure Outlook is in fact my default client, but the message persists. I have searched for Add-Ons and have come up empty. I am running Windows 8.1.
I'm not going to switch over to Thunderbird if it can't do something as simple as move my data from one program to another on the same computer.

First you have to export your data from Outlook
then you can import them in Tbird.

  • Problem with loading the application.......Microsoft Outlook 2013

     Hello,
I tried to setup my account manually. I made a mistake with my email. I closed the application after some number of tries to log-on and failed.
    Now the application cannot even load any window again for me to input the correct email and other details........ This is how the pop-up that appears read reads;
""Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The information store could not be opened.""
I am currently using the online account to assess my email as my outlook 2013 failed to work.
    Thank you!

    Hi
Why don't you remove the profile from the mail app in control panel and start again?

  • Microsoft Outlook 2013 Credentials Prompt Autofilled Username

I'm having some questions about the autofilled username when Outlook prompts for password. Current account is AD account is linked to Office365 and
SSO is enabled so since username now is UPN which is different from email address. Sometimes Outlook will autofill the email address and sometimes the UPN. How do i control it so that only UPN is autofilled every time?

    Hi,
Do you mean your Outlook 2013 is always prompted for credentials with auto-filled username?
Please try to clean up the cached credential in your computer. Then fill in with the format of UPN when it prompted for credentials next time and check the Remember my credential to save it. About how to remove cached credentials, please
    follow these steps:
    1. Launch the Credential Manager from
Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Credential Manager.
    2. In the Generic Credentials section you’ll see a setting for [MS Outlook] which will include your SSO details. Click the downward-pointing arrow to the right of that value.
    3. In the expand details, click Remove from vault. Then Outlook will no longer have a stored copy of your password.

  • Outlook 2013 - Calendar - weather bar

can I populate the locations with Powershell,GPO or registry settings?

    Hi,
You can make this via GPO. You need to specify a custom weather service url under
    User Configuration\Administrative Templates\Microsoft Outlook 2013\Outlook Options\Preferences\Calendar Options
    in Group Policy.
You need to append the "weasearchstr=city" parameter to the base URL. This parameter indicates the location,
city, for which the user wants a weather forecast (for example, London).
For more reference, please refer to Weather Bar Protocol:
