Weather icon wont find local weather

my local weather will not update on the weather app.

HI,
I have just noticed this too.   Local weather wont update, however, a fixed location will.....My location services are all turned on too.
The local weather tab pulls the location and the high and low temperatures, but the rest remains blank.  I have tried hard reset and turning the location services off and on again but still the same.

  • How do I change the weather icon to my local weather?

I am new to iPhone and have 2 questions:
    1. How do I change the wether icon from Cupertino and New York to local weather?
    2. How do I remove icons from the home page that came already installed? I tried pressing and holding until they vibrate but no 'X" appears to delete them.
    Thanks!

    1. How do I change the wether icon from Cupertino and New York to local weather?
Select the i circle icon at the bottom right.
Select the + icon at the top right to add a city. Select the red - icon next to a city on the list to remove a city.
Select the icon at the far right of each city to move that city up of down on the list.
Select Done at the top right when finished.
    2. How do I remove icons from the home page that came already installed? I tried pressing and holding until they vibrate but no 'X" appears to delete them.
The default icons cannot be removed. The default icons will not have an X to remove them. Only user created web clippings will have the X and can be removed.

  • Change weather icon to show local Camp Hill, PA

The Weather icon shows 73 degrees for some location it came pre-set with and I want it to show the current Camp Hill, PA which is one of the sites I setup.

Tap on the i in the lower right hand and then the + in upper left to add a location. To go between the different locations you can have you swipe the screen left or right.

  • Can't find local weather info

How do you access the local weather on the new DVR remote?  We get local on the 8s but it is just general for the whole country and not for our area.  Is there a special button or code to enter to access local information.

Local forecasts are no longer available in all areas. They may be working on restoring it to your area, but that info is difficult to come by.It has nothing to do with the remote.

  • Weather icon should show current weather

if they can have the Calendar icon show the current date and day, they need to have the Weather icon show the current temp and weather.

Nevermind, read the question wrong. I missed the word "icon" and to spare myself embarassment, I'll just delete. I agree with the OP, it would be cool.

  • Weather Channel HD - No local weather

Just had a defective set top box replaced with a new one. Since replacing, I'm not getting local weather on the Weather Channel HD like I did with old box. Any idea why?

Weather channel uses a specialized computer called IntelliStar at each of the cable company's local head end to overlay graphics when the "Weather on the 8's" comes up. There is currently a HD version out, but it is still being tested in select markets. Here's the wikipedia link if you want to read more about it...

  • Weather ICONs - How can I find out what they indicate?

I have looked all over the internet and can't find an answer.... what do all those different weather icons mean in iPhone's weather feature. Some of them are obvious, sunny, raining, partially cloudy... but there are some that are confusing... snow with clouds, snow without clouds, rain with clouds, rain without clouds, snow with rain (I think), hail(?)... is there a place that these have been defined?
I know this is trivial but its driving me nutz!

I believe that some of your questions can be answered in totem by clicking on the Yahoo icon in the lower left portion of the weather page. This will take you to the yahoo website where you should be able to get your answers. If you click on the icon at the website...it will tell you what it means. \
    Hope this helps,
    Good Luck

  • Why doesn't the weather icon display the current temperature in your "local" city?

Why doesn't the current temperature display in the weather icon on the home screen?

The application works and I do have location-based services on. I'm just wondering why the icon itself does not show the current temperature. Sort of how they upgraded the clock after show the current time.

  • Weather icon (just a dummy icon?????)

Why doesn't the weather icon show an actual temp??? The calendar shows the actual date???

The date to display on the calendar icon can be obtained locally... for the weather, it would need to access the network to look it up.
I guess it would be slick to offer a configuration setting to allow / disallow "live" icons, as I'm sure some people would prefer to disable to maximize battery life.
Wouldn't be surprised to see this kind of polish added over time... this will be a fun platform to watch as it matures.

  • Lost orig weather icon

The original Weather icon on home screen disappeared. I can get the app itself from the search screen but I think the icon deleted somehow. How can I get it back?

None of the pre-installed apps can be deleted. Look on every page & in every folder. If you still can't find it: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout. See if you see it now.

  • Conky weather icon issues

Ok, I have been using the conkyForecast script for a while now, and it's been nice, but, for some reason it decided not to show anything until today actually.
So, I started investigating the conky man page, and found that it has weather information available to it as well.
    You have to use --enable-metar and/or --enable-xoap.
The xoap apparently enables metar as well.
Anyway, I used the conky-git package, but had to change the ccmake to cmake-gui in order to get it to build.
After all that, the weather works fine, except for when displaying the weather icon.
The icon argument returns a number, which apparently corresponds to pngs from weather.com  (not that I've been able to find the kit), but the icons are provided with conkyForecast (for which I'm thankful).   But how do I get conky to display the icon?
I'm starting to think that feature may just be broken at this time, but I'm just curious to see if I've done something odd with this and didn't intend to.
When I look in the weathericons, there is a 26.png that would correspond with the cloud_cover option, but the icon shows 26, rather than that png.    Do I need to have the images placed in a certain place or what?
I've searched all over the place, but most things that pop up are for conkyForecast, rather than for any information on this within conky.
I looked at the weather portions of the code as well, but can't tell where it's looking for the icon, if it is at all.
Any suggestions as to where to look for more info?  I don't do irc really, but I may have to break down and install an irc client and go ask on the #conky channel.

There is no stock weather app on iPads. Use the App Store app to search for, download or purchase a weather app of your choosing.

  • On Sympatico homepage, my local weather and news does not come up unless I refresh the page. But when I return to the homepage during the same session, local news/weather is gone again. Is this correctable?

When I first open the browser and it goes my homepage, Sympatico.ca, there are 2 areas of the homepage you can personalize. On the left hand side "News" Column, the bottom box "Local News" allows you to select a location (Toronto, Ontario Canada for me) to display news from that area. On the far right hand column, below the advertising bar, is "Weather" where you select your city (Brantford in my case) and it will display the 4 day forecast in C or F degrees. Once you close the homepage the settings are saved. The problem is that when I leave the homepage to any other website, if I return to the homepage the weather and local news is back to the default setting of having to select the city again. I did find if I just refreshed the page, the personalized settings appear. I have Firefox 4 and it seemed to correct the problem when I installed 4 as the same problem had been occurring with my previous version of Firefox. But now it's back to having to refresh the page to get the saved location for local weather and news. My wife uses IE8 on the same PC and has not had this problem on her Sympatico homepage.

    aha!

The ifconfig line the server is pushing is not right. That is meant for a point to point connection. That is why the local client is puking on it...it is not correct. At least for a tun type device. If it was a tap, then it would be fine.

so.... change the line to dev tap, and then do this stuff..

  • I have an Apple16 GB with BT Yahoo home pad that had a small box to let me go to mail and another for  weather and below them I had my local weather in box, somehow I have erased them and don't know how to get the back ,not very good with computers.

I have an Apple16GB with BT Yahoo home page which had a box for mail and weather and further down I had my local weather, I have touched something and lost these boxes and my home page has changed  and I would like to get it back as it was. I have to admit to being useless at computers although I love my I Pad.

Is this the website that you are looking for? According to the very little bit of research that I did on this before responding to you, there have been changes made to the website and to the way that works ...if I read everything correctly.
    http://home.bt.com/
Did you have a shortcut to the website on your iPad home screen? If that is what you want to create again, navigate to that website in Safari and then tap the arrow icon next to the address/URL field at the top of the Safari toolbar. Form the window that will pop up, select - Add to Home Screen. That will put an icon on your home screen that will allow you to open directly to that page in Safari when you tap on it.
