Weather widget issue

Having a little issue with the S5, when arriving at a new location I refresh the widget, and the location will be slightly off, then I refresh again it gets it right, I have set to high accuracy, my wife has same phone, have seen hers do the exact same thing, I have downloaded other widgets from google play, they all do it, seems like it only happens at certain spots, arriving at work and other random locations, so its not the phone, its not the widget, can somebody expiain what the heck is going on? I upgraded from the S3, it was usually accurate, called Verizon, they had no clue, Im stumped.

When I use my weather it usually pulls Data out of major City Wichita.. I can tap Google and ask and it will say the currents for were I live but when using and App called My-Cast it shows Data from a small un-corporated city but I have my Phone set on High for GPS not battery saving.. it seems to help when Traveling.. Its also a good thing to keep any weather apps updated and One weather App I use Highly since we live in Tornado Ville is.. List below..

Strange Weather Widget Issue

I have three weather widgets added to my iPhone: 44319 (Akron, OH), 44115 (Cleveland, OH), and 44094 (Willoughby, OH). The Akron and Cleveland ones work just fine, but the Willoughby one always says 90 degrees and day time no matter what. I know the information is getting updated because I have the same location setup on my iMac and it works fine. Any ideas why it's not updating on my iPhone? I've tried removing it and re-adding it multiple times.

Hrrmmmm. Upon further inspection the problem appears to apply for all towns immediately surrounding Ft Collins (Loveland, Windsor, Wellington).
If it is because a person manually supplies the data, they must be on vacation. It's been 81 since Sunday.
If it is AccuWeather providing incorrect data it is just to the iPhone. The information for Ft Collins updates correctly on my dashboard in 10.4.10.
The surrounding areas not showing correct information seems to support the theory that it is something to do with the information supplied being incorrect. If so, who should we contact to have the issue resolved?
Edited to add: I've also tried deleting the city, resetting the device and going back to the application to add it back. When I return to the weather widget the listing is already there, even though I had deleted prior to resetting. Has anyone who has this problem tried restoring all the settings or restoring the entire device yet?

HTC weather widget issues

For a couple of weeks now the weather widget will only say "Massachusetts" and not the name of the town that I am. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if anyone has any idea as how to fix it.

I'm having a similar issue.
I live in Brooklyn (Brighton Beach). Before the end of March my phone would display Brooklyn (sometimes even Brighton Beach (!!) even though it's not a borough. That's just how precise the the weather widget was). At that time, I had my VZW Location and GPS off, only had Google Location and either Wi-Fi or 3G on. Sometimes it also caught a signal from a couple of NJ's nearest towns such as Atlantic Highlands and Monmouth (not so precise, lol) but recently it just says New York regardles which borough I am in! That's very annoying. Turnning on VZW Location and GPS doesn't help.*228 option 2 doesn't help either.

Xperia Weather widget GPS location automatic update issue

Folks,
Having an issue with Xperia Weather widget location automatic update. It just stays whatever I set manually before even selecting "use my current GPS location".It finds location OK, but should it follow then automatically or it works only in "manual mode" ?
GPS settings are activated OK.
On other weather app this feature works fine.
Anybody experiencing the same problem?

That "use my current GPS feature" is just to set the location. It doesn't works as automatic mode to update your location on it's own.
You will have to do it manually again if you wish to change the location.

My weather widget keeps saying "weather offline" when im on wifi or have full service?

on my iphone 4 in the notification centre, my weather widget says "weather offline" sometimes, most of the time is shows the weather, but sometimes it is offline even when im on wifi or have full service. its so annoying. how can i fix this?

I'm seeing it too, and I know of no fix. So it's not just you. And, I'm in the US so it's not a problem in your country only.
I have found no pattern as to why I get "Weather Offline" but other times it's updated just fine.
Sometimes the Weather app refuses to update the local weather, other times it gets updated. I assume the issues are related. All the other weather locations I create in the app are updated, so I know it's not the weather server that's the problem. It's just the local weather in the app and notification center (or centre!)
Guess it's another iOS 5 bug. Let's hope it gets fixed in the next release.

Weather widget text moved UP

I noticed recently but only really investigated today. The text on my weather widget has all moved up about 5-10 pixels from where it should be. The temperature listing is now sticking about 5 pixels outside and above the background. It looks like the same font and I haven't gotten rid of any fonts lately. I don't know if this is related to 10.4.5 but I noticed it around the time of the upgrade. Any ideas for troubleshooting? Very strange issue.

Yes i have logged out, restarted, refreshed the widget. It's not just the weather widget now. I see that the address book widget is different, my iCal calendar widget has its text moved up, and goodness knows which others. I orignally asked this question on another forum and others reported having the same problems. I wonder if copying the widget from a computer not experiencing this would make a difference. It's really just the text.
You know how when the weather widget is loading the temperature has the - - where the numbers are about to appear... those are in the correct position. As soon as the numbers and other text loads it's significantly higher than those - - would suggest.

I've tried that, I just bought my macbook pro last week and disk repair (even from boot) gives me only 1 issue with permissions that cant be fixed. It starts with System... and ends with Agent (something like System/.../Agent).
Ive repaired and it could not be fixed. The widget is still not working though. Yesterday morning everything worked just fine and I only used Pages in between.
Is there any way to completely remove the widget and redownload? Maybe an icon is missing or something like that?
I attacheted a screenshot so you can check.

Location Service not Working with Weather Widget in Notification Center

Is ibt just me or is the weather widget not validating locations? I have restored iOSS 6.0.2 and toggles location services (enable/disable) for the app and removed it from the notification menu. It is working on both my iMac and MBP. Any suggestions? Anyone else having issues?

Launching the Weather app updates, but that's not push, right? So it could be that the widget in the NC relies on push. But why does it need to? Why doesn't it request an update when I pull down the NC, just like when I start the Weather app?
It seems to happen quite often, not like it's a one-off kind of server problem. I haven't been able to discern a pattern, but it's often enough to be so annoying that I almost want to remove it from the NC.

Does anyone know of a good rss Weather widget that will not
only display text, but the appropriate weather image (sun, rain,
etc.) like weather.com has? I'm not familiar enough with XML to
parse out data. Any help you can give is appreciated!

Weather Widget Disappears

After installing Leopard, I am having two regular issues with Widgets. 1) My weather widgets (I generally keep two of these on my dashboard) disappear. If I have one or more open in my dashboard, it (they) slowly seems to "creep" up the screen until it's gone. Then I re-load new ones. It seems as if they're simply up off the screen somewhere, in which case I might have 20 weather widgets currently running.
2) my Webclips almost never load on their own. I have to click on them and hit Cmd+R to get them to re-load.

I'm also having the same problem. One thing I've done to clean up weather widgets that have managed to escape to the top of the screen before I catch them and move them back down is use the "Manage Widgets" widget to disable the Weather widget and then re-enable it. This kills all the weather widgets so I don't have any hanging. Unfortunately it means I need to replace and reset all the widgets. I'm running the widgets on a secondary monitor, so I wonder if that is related.
Some other stuff I notice, some times the widgets will move every time I open dashboard, sometimes only the first time after log in. Normally only 1 or 2 of the widgets though will move on me. I have 3 regularly set u.

Weather widget date screwed up post 01/01/09

Hi. I'm in New Zealand, and as of yesterday my weather widgets are showing the wrong day. It's Saturday morning here, and any New Zealand (or Australian) city I add on my dashboard displays as Friday. Up until a day or so ago this has never been a problem. I've called a few other Mac-users in NZ, and they're all having the same problem, where the dates/forcasts on their weather widgets seem to have defaulted back to American time zones. Any other non-Americans having this issue? Thanks.

Weather Widget and WiFi Networks

I have a non-critical issue with my weather widgets. While using my iBook at home they work fine, but while using a few select wireless networks away from home the weather widgets fail to pull down the current conditions. All of the other widgets that are network dependent seem to work just fine. Can anyone shed some light on what my problem might be?

That may be it, but sometimes I have been on a wireless network for over an hour and they never update, while all of the other widgets seem to update just fine.
I did notice an odd issue at one particular hotspot, I could not access the Apple home page. I wonder if at this hotspot they have blocked some sites, although I can not imagine for the life of me why they would block the Apple site.

Weather widget replacement for Windows 7

I work as an IT for a small business. And I believe that Microsoft once again has removed one more of their products that was sold to us. I keep getting tech support calls about weather widget not working on Windows 7 desktops installed in our offices. I
need to replace this:
with something that actually shows a weather forecast and runs on a Windows 7 desktop.
Any ideas?

There is a serious issue with the Widgets platform, that has been clearly stated before. If you are not technically oriented, maybe you should use any of the other alternatives on the replies for your question (except the answer to look out the
window which is between silly and idiotic, plus mean.
Now, if you *do* want to fix the widget. The solution is somewhere else and is basically to "touch" a configuration file and restarting the widget. The solution is temporary so a [hopefully] definitive solution is exposed on the thread and
is basically locking down the file after "touching" it, with a date in the future.

As to why someone would want to run such an outdated and unsafe piece of software? Simple: Some people do not mind, and in fact are willing to take responsibility (to him/herself) if somehting bad happens to the system, plus this particular
widget is simple, unobtrusive, light (doesn't slow anything down), not spammy and is "always there" to glance at instead of going to a website as someone suggested. It reminds me in fact of the beautiful Windows 8 Weather app.
So, some people may still want to run this widget. Above is the solution to this pestering issue.

Settings | Date and Time then select Automatic date & time, and Automatic time zone. In this way, the carrier time will populate the phone. If it's still going 1hour off, then I'd call VZW and inquire if they have a tower issue, specially if it happens in one particular place.

Weather widget-no snow icon

I found on the current version of OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1, under the weather widget in notification center, there is no snow icon. When viewing the hourly weather, there is an empty space where a "snow" icon should be. As of today there is snow coming the forecast, when I look at other websites. I found out that the empty icon space means that there should be a snow icon there.
Since I am no developer I thought it best to report it here.

Yes, folks, it appears that HTC's weather provider has a case of the sniffles, and widgets from Wabash to Worthington are wondering just what the weather is like wherever we are wandering.
(OK, couldn't keep that up any longer.) We wouldn't worry (oops) ourselves too much over this, folks. It's like just server hiccups on the part of the weather provider (anyone remember who it is?), and there's nothing wrong with your phone. You're not alone, and it's really not worth worrying your pretty little head over it.
But if you just have to have weather info at the ready, there are a number of good apps and widgets available in the Android Market that should hold you over until the hamster gets back on the wheel.
