Weather widget-no snow icon

I found on the current version of OS X Yosemite version 10.10.1, under the weather widget in notification center, there is no snow icon. When viewing the hourly weather, there is an empty space where a "snow" icon should be. As of today there is snow coming the forecast, when I look at other websites. I found out that the empty icon space means that there should be a snow icon there.
Since I am no developer I thought it best to report it here.

Yes, folks, it appears that HTC's weather provider has a case of the sniffles, and widgets from Wabash to Worthington are wondering just what the weather is like wherever we are wandering.
(OK, couldn't keep that up any longer.) We wouldn't worry (oops) ourselves too much over this, folks. It's like just server hiccups on the part of the weather provider (anyone remember who it is?), and there's nothing wrong with your phone. You're not alone, and it's really not worth worrying your pretty little head over it.
But if you just have to have weather info at the ready, there are a number of good apps and widgets available in the Android Market that should hold you over until the hamster gets back on the wheel.

Weather widget not working after upgrade to Snow Leopard (Australian areas)

The weather widget is not working since I upgraded to Snow Leopard.
The feed seems to have changed from Accuraweather or something like that to Yahoo!Weather, and Yahoo!Weather seems to have problems (at least concerning weather data feeds from places in Australia).
I live in Kempsey, New South Wales (Australia). I can't input that address, because it won't validate. When I try typing my address in the widget autocompletes with "Kempsey, Austral Eden, New South Wales (Australia)" (FYI, Austral Eden is a rural parish near Kempsey, but Austral Eden is not in Kempsey and Kempsey is not in Austral Eden). That address will validate, but there seems to be no weather feed: ie. I don't get any information displayed in the widget.
The nearest address that will validate correctly is "Port Macquarie, New South Wales (Australia)". The Yahoo!Weather feed doesn't provide any information about that, either.
I can get a weather data feed for Canberra. But Canberra is 800 kilometres from here.
I think I want to change back to AccuraWeather. How would I do that?

I'm annoyed by this as well.
I was planning on buying my father the Snow Leopard upgrade for Christmas, but there is no way he'll want it without a working Port Macquarie weather widget. ( I'm not kidding! )
I've looked at the AccuWeather widget as well, but it is really ugly!

Weather Widget bug: doesn't display full city name initially

I have a brand-new Mac Mini.
The weather widget is configured incorrectly if you go through the default set-up process for Philadelphia.
I went through the standard Mac OS X first-time setup, telling it my location (Philadelphia, USA). This pre-configured my time zone correctly for east coast, but for some reason pre-configured my weather widget for Philadelphia, NY (instead of the MUCH more likely Philadelphia, PA).
BUT it just said "Philadelphia" on the widget, and in the widget settings, so it looked correct... it took me a week to figure out why the weather data was always so wrong. It was just on a whim that I tried re-entering the location in the settings (even though it appeared to be correct.)
Really, it should be smart enough to assume the larger city, but at the very least the widget should have displayed "Philadelphia, NY" in the settings instead of just "Philadelphia".

I can't help with a fix but I can confirm seeing the same behavior, not only with the 'snow' image but with others. It is very erratic: sometimes the city name underlines & I get the hand pointer on mouse overs, sometimes no underline but the hand pointer, sometimes nothing but a flicker of the hand that reverts to the arrow as soon as the pointer comes to a stop over the name.
Worse, this seems to have little to do with the ability to click through to the web page. Sometimes there is no visual pointer change or underline cue but the link is live; other times it isn't.
Try this: Cmd-option-clicking on the weather graphic icon cycles through all the graphics & changes the location to "Nowhere." Cute, but sometimes "Nowhere" sticks as the location the next time Dashboard is displayed, sometimes not. Other anomolies have been noted in other threads, too.
Bottom line is I think the weather widget isn't very sophistocated & is easy to confuse.

Weather widget and slide show problems

My site opens on a three column fixed page with header and footer. I have been able to define the area between the nav bar and footer as editable. When I go to incontext and try to make that area editable through incontext it seems fine until I test it. I receive a message that the area is not editable and I can make regions editable through incontext. Only the right most column has a dashed line around it. From that I assume the problem is with the weather widget in column 1 and the slide show in column 2.
All of my other pages are single column and seem to work well with incontext. Any suggestions? Thanks...Morgan

InContext Editing regions cannot contain Flash or JavaScript content, so you should wrap the sections you want to have editable with div tags to separate them from this content. For example:

Question mark where moon must be - Weather widget

When i go to the dashboard, the weather widget displays a blue square with a white questionmark in it a little top left of where the moon is supposed to be

I've tried that, I just bought my macbook pro last week and disk repair (even from boot) gives me only 1 issue with permissions that cant be fixed. It starts with System... and ends with Agent (something like System/.../Agent).
Ive repaired and it could not be fixed. The widget is still not working though. Yesterday morning everything worked just fine and I only used Pages in between.
Is there any way to completely remove the widget and redownload? Maybe an icon is missing or something like that?
I attacheted a screenshot so you can check.

Apple weather widget

Does anyone by chance know if in the new iOS 6 which I have installed on my iPhone they will update the weather widget to show a real time temperature dispaly instead of the constant 73' icon. Or at least can they give the option of having the temperature displayed by the battery icon or wi-fi 3G/4G icon. It would be nice if the weather widget was a little more up to date considering todays technologies... Just a thought.

Weather widget defaults to Cupertino

Hello all, I have 4 weather Widgets on Dashboard. These are for Bridgewater USA, Montpellier France and Bergen and Oslo Norway. 4 times of 5 when I fire up the dashboard for the first time i.e. after booting the computer from shut down, at least 2 or 3 of them list Cupertino- Now I know that I am a Machead deluxe - have had my hands on almost every model since 1984, this sort of flattery is too much to bear. If I spin them (i - icon) the location shows correctly i.e. Montpellier but on return to the Weather interface Cupertino is still there - with Cupertino's weather by the way. The only way I can force the weather is by opening the Accuweather site or by closing the Dashboard and re-opening it. Even this does not always do the trick and I have to re-locate the weather location by deleting the Montpellier that is there and re-entering it anew. Yet lo and behold - when I n´reboot again we are back to the 4 of 5 times etc. Any good ideas on this one??

Same problem here (had begun with Tiger). Having once displayed widget content and discovered that in moonphases folder there are only 24 icons (when there are 28 days in a complete mooncycle, I wonder if this could explain the fact that the cupertino icon appears frequently some days and then no more for a quite long time. For me the Cupertino appearing icon is always a nightly one.
May be somebody with more knowledge than me in software could check it ?

Weather widget

When I changed the cupertino weather info to my local city, I wound up with 2 weather widgets. Can I remove one of them from the dashboard display?

Yes, you can remove any widget by dragging it back to the Dashboard "widget bar" (which is revealed by clicking the round icon with a plus sign in the Dashboard) or by holding down the option key, moving over the widget and clicking the round X that appears.

Weather widget button temp display

Its always 73 degrees. Wouldn't it be nice if the button displayed the temp of your current location? wink wink

No kidding. It took me a second to realize what you meant, but yeah. If the calendar icon can change, why is the weather widget left static?

Weather widget moon phase incorrect

This seems to be a problem due to the shift for the weather widget from Accuweather to Weather.com and Yahoo. There was never an answer posted back when this happened in Snow Leopard here: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2166452?start=0&tstart=0
Anyone have a fix for this?? Having the wrong moon phase is killing me! Seriously, it was beautiful before, when it was connected to accuweather. Why did you have to switch it Apple??

The weather widget not working - what should I do?

I change the city in the weather widget, but for some reason when I go back to the "home" page..... the weather is totally different. I live in Massachusetts and I know for a fact that we're not having 70 degree weather.

I found out that there's not much you can do with the weather and clock app. It's hard to explain. They are just an icon. It's kinda like an "icon shortcut." You make a shortcut on your computer to access things you use on a daily basis. (i.e. documents, shared drives)
It's not like Windows 7 where you can have something called a gadget to see the time, weather and being able to change it to your specifications. It's sooo stupid. Why bother having an icon of a clock and/or weather if I can't see the time and/or weather temp??

My weather widget keeps saying "weather offline" when im on wifi or have full service?

on my iphone 4 in the notification centre, my weather widget says "weather offline" sometimes, most of the time is shows the weather, but sometimes it is offline even when im on wifi or have full service. its so annoying. how can i fix this?

I'm seeing it too, and I know of no fix. So it's not just you. And, I'm in the US so it's not a problem in your country only.
I have found no pattern as to why I get "Weather Offline" but other times it's updated just fine.
Sometimes the Weather app refuses to update the local weather, other times it gets updated. I assume the issues are related. All the other weather locations I create in the app are updated, so I know it's not the weather server that's the problem. It's just the local weather in the app and notification center (or centre!)
Guess it's another iOS 5 bug. Let's hope it gets fixed in the next release.

My weather widget is set to California, and I am on the east coast. Way to reset it?

For some reason, my weather widget (the slide down screen) is set to Cupertino, California. Problem: I'm in Washington, D.C and there isn't a real reason for it to be in California....
I updated my phone, so it is the most up to date.
My locations services is on, and it is set to D.C, so is there any way to fix this problem?

Sure, bring up the weather widget and select it. Select "i" at the bottom right corner and turn Local Weather ON
