Weather widget not working well

Hi,
This morning I found that my weather widget didn't update to the latest weather - still on Saturday.
The internet connection was good. I live in York, England, and since it didn't work, I tested with other cities, like London or Leeds, it worked fine. But when I tried to change it back to York, the city didn't change: it remained at the last one I checked.
I tried to refresh it, and then it's all blank...
I am hoping it's the problem of the network, but can anyone please test it for me and let me know whether York, England (United Kindom) works for you or not, please? Thank you so much.

It seemed to be a temporary problem and it's working now.

Weather widget not working after upgrade to Snow Leopard (Australian areas)

The weather widget is not working since I upgraded to Snow Leopard.
The feed seems to have changed from Accuraweather or something like that to Yahoo!Weather, and Yahoo!Weather seems to have problems (at least concerning weather data feeds from places in Australia).
I live in Kempsey, New South Wales (Australia). I can't input that address, because it won't validate. When I try typing my address in the widget autocompletes with "Kempsey, Austral Eden, New South Wales (Australia)" (FYI, Austral Eden is a rural parish near Kempsey, but Austral Eden is not in Kempsey and Kempsey is not in Austral Eden). That address will validate, but there seems to be no weather feed: ie. I don't get any information displayed in the widget.
The nearest address that will validate correctly is "Port Macquarie, New South Wales (Australia)". The Yahoo!Weather feed doesn't provide any information about that, either.
I can get a weather data feed for Canberra. But Canberra is 800 kilometres from here.
I think I want to change back to AccuraWeather. How would I do that?

I'm annoyed by this as well.
I was planning on buying my father the Snow Leopard upgrade for Christmas, but there is no way he'll want it without a working Port Macquarie weather widget. ( I'm not kidding! )
I've looked at the AccuWeather widget as well, but it is really ugly!

Weather Widgets Not Working

I've just noticed in the past few days that my Weather Widgets aren't working anymore. All I see is the two city windows, but they are are just a blue blank window (with the city text on top).
Does anyone else have this problem?

The URLs aren't directly exchangable and the old widget seems to work through Apple.com whereas the other widget (which is a third party widget) goes through acccuweather.com I think this probably par for the course in terms of Apple and Tiger (and maybe Leopard too since somebody was posting on this in the 10.5 forum too). Probably somebody pulled a plug.
Maybe if somebody with a higher level OS and working Apple weather widget wants to poke around we could do more, but I wouldn't think they would change only the URL just to irk us and not how it interfaces.

10.6.8 weather widget not working

The weather widget on my dash no longer recognizes Surrey, BC Canada and instead defaults to Vancouver even when I enter my postal/zip code, BC. Surrey use to work before the update.. I've tried other smaller cities around my area and they too all seem to work.

i think it's a generally problem on macs to synchronize the canada weather to your mac. Try this download link:

The weather widget not working - what should I do?

I change the city in the weather widget, but for some reason when I go back to the "home" page..... the weather is totally different. I live in Massachusetts and I know for a fact that we're not having 70 degree weather.

I found out that there's not much you can do with the weather and clock app. It's hard to explain. They are just an icon. It's kinda like an "icon shortcut." You make a shortcut on your computer to access things you use on a daily basis. (i.e. documents, shared drives)
It's not like Windows 7 where you can have something called a gadget to see the time, weather and being able to change it to your specifications. It's sooo stupid. Why bother having an icon of a clock and/or weather if I can't see the time and/or weather temp??

Weather Widget not Working

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but my wather widget isn't working, it just comes up blank, is this a problem on my side or what?
I don't know how the widgets work exactly so I don't even know where to start fixing this issue, any help is appreciated.
If it matters I have a 20" Intel iMac running OSX v10.4.5

Hi Jake, If you click on the little 'i' in the bottom right hand corner of the widget, it will rotate. Enter your nearest town, zip whatever, hit 'enter', click 'Done', and it should work. If that doesn't work, try disabling it by clicking on the + symbol, then clicking the X next to the weather widget. Do the same thing in reverse to put it back and it should come back with a default setting. Go back to the little 'i', as above.

Google Voice Widget Not Working in Safari 5.1 which is Adobe flash with wmode transparent set. For that matter all flash text fields in Safari 5.1 are not working accross the web when wmode is set to transparent. This is a Safari bug! Other browsers work fine.
Well after much research Adobe flash text field with wmode transparent set is not working in Safari 5.1 when any flash object has the wmode set to "transparent", or "opaque". The problem is many site must layer flash objects with html so the wmode transparent must be used.
Affecting sites like BEST BUY, WALMART, CVS, STAPLES, Chechout their flash based weekly ads and find one that you need to update the quantity in the flash pop-up and the text field with keyboard strokes will not work. Flash text fields were all working fine until several month ago when Safari rolled out 5.1 working for Google Voice Flash based widget which uses the wmode transparent. HELP!

If not working for you, try clearing your cache to remove any old, non working versions.
Test on some other machine besides yours.

Thanks to Mike on Safari Help I am able to 'Listen Again' (as well as listen in real time) to BBC radio programmes on my Intel iMac. I don't know about the widget but the following works:
Open Safari with CTRL key pressed
Click Get Info
Click the Rosetta option
Restart
Go to bbc.co.uk
Download Real Player 10.

My widgets are not working as well, i looked on forms and it seams that the 10.5 update fix there problems. I also did an archive and install from 10.4... One of the major reasons i purchased the upgrade was to use widgets to clip parts of safari, i'am totaly bummed because all forums i find end with the question un answered. i'am a little bummed becuase there are a couple of things that worked with 10.4 that are not working in 10.5 (like some meg moives not playing.
i do not wish to create a new account because i do not want to reinstall all my software, photoshop, final cut, dvd studio pro.. etc.
i hope to find the fix some how.
I have opened up the console application and when i select widgets load or delete them i see no activity in the console. I'am not familiar with the console app. or command lines.
is there any more info on this matter? is there any support from apple?

Rollovers in composition widgets not working

I have an ongoing problem with the rollovers in the composition widgets not working once published. I have had this issue on more than one site. The only way I have been able to resolve the issue it to rebuild the composition from scratch. This is very time consuming and does not always resove the issue. Any suggestions?

Does simply republishing afresh does not help?
Could you provide a link to such a site where we can check this issue. Please also send the Muse source file for the site to [email protected] as well so that we may also try publishing at our end and investigate.

(1) You say you did the symbolic link. I will assume this is set correctly; it's very important that it is.
(2) I don't know what you mean by "Been feeding the [email protected] for several weeks now, 700 emails each day at least." After the initial training period, SpamAssassin doesn't learn from mail it has already processed correctly. At this point, you only need to teach SpamAssassin when it is wrong. [email protected] should only be getting spam that is being passed as clean. Likewise, [email protected] should only be getting legitimate mail that is being flagged as junk. You are redirecting mail to both [email protected] and [email protected] ... right? SpamAssassin needs both.
(3) Next, as I said before, you need to implement those "Frontline spam defense for Mac OS X Server." Once you have that done and issue "postfix reload" you can look at your SMTP log in Server Admin and watch as Postfix blocks one piece of junk mail after another. It's kind of cool.
(4) Add some SARE rules:

If you are referring to online gaming, then PS3 like all non-apple devices uses upnp to open ports.
Apple uses NAT-PMP to open ports.. East and West.. never the twain shall meet.
If it is internal wireless issues.. that is different.. airport should be just like any other wireless router.

Thank you for your time Woody. Recently the Mac seems to freeze a lot, seemingly due to a problem with the airport, especially if the computer is inactive for anything more than a few minutes. Then yesterday I suddenly couldn't send or receive messages so I got in touch with my server and they reconfigured the mail account. I can now receive messages but can't send them, always getting a timed out message when I try to send an email. I phoned the server again and they said it must be a problem with Mail as we tried sending a message online from the server's webpage and it worked fine, so they suggested I reinstall Mail. So hence my original question. Sorry for the rambling! I'm not very computer minded.
