Web Access in secondary Domain creating *.tmp files on root

I have a Groupwise 7.01 Webaccess server on a secondary domain and am seeing temporary files being created on the root of the sys volume and dump files ie _T-oo960.tmp and CORE0.dmp. Checking the dates shows they are from March May and June I ahd not seen this before and want to delete them.
Does anyone know why they are being created and how to stop them ?

  • How FND_FILE.PUT_LINE create tmp file in app tier and move it to db tier?

i have a concurrent program runs in application tier which uses FND_FILE.PUT_LINE... does anyone know whether is that true that when the concurrent program runs, it will create a temp file in the database tier ($APPLTMP), and once the program finished/done, it will copy the output to application tier ($APPLCSF/$APPLOUT and $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG - out file and log file)? if it is true, how does Oracle copy the file from database tier to application tier?
    here is my current setting:
    - concurrent program runs in application tier
    - mount $APPLTMP (set it as first entry in utl_file_dir) in database tier on applicate tier
    - tmp file creates in $APPLTMP (database tier)
    - out file creates in $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT (application tier)
    - log file creates in $APPLCSF/$APPLLOG (application tier)
we occasionally run into problem creating tmp file. so, am wondering is there any best practice for concurrent program? should we run it in application tier or database tier?
    help is highly appreciated. thanks.

    Hi, Hussien.
Our problem is... occasionally we run into "ORA-20100: File lxxx.tmp creation for FND_FILE failed" error. 0 bytes temporary file created, but out/log files created with data/output. That's why we don't know what did we do wrong.
We followed metalink 261693.1, tried all the possiblities... still no luck on temporary files (created with 0 bytes).
The problem (ORA-20100) comes and goes. Very inconsistent. Created simple package to test FND_FILE.PUT_LINE, it looks like nothing is wrong with that. So, not sure did we miss something.
    Thanks.

  • Excel automatically create .tmp file when open after close Excel, tmp file still there

Anytime I save a change to one of my Excel files, the TMP file appears in the destination folder and remains.  The "main" Excel file
saves the retains the changes that I made and after each subsequent change, a new TMP file is created...old TMP files are not deleted.  This is only happening with Excel files.

    Hi,
From your description, I understand that  you want .tmp file disappear . If there is any misunderstanding, please feel free to let me know.
This issue can be related to many factors.
First,  try to check out file->save-> Save autorecover information, if you use Excel 2010.
If the problem persists, it may be a permissions problem.
Take ownership of the related file

  • RDS 2012 Connection Broker and Web Access in different domains

    Hello!
I'm trying to add Web Access (WA) server to RDS 2012 Deployment. WA server and other servers in Deployment are in different domains (in different forests with 2-way forest trust).
WA server was added to Deployment
    successfully without any warnings.
We have many applications published but in this new WA server there are no application icons in Rdweb page at all.
There is nothing interesting in logs on WA server as well as on Connection broker servers.
    Is this design
acceptable? Which additional actions are needed to make application icons visible?

    Hi,

  • File sharing between windows PCs creates tmp files that are locked

Hey everyone. This is bringing an old topic back from the dead. Over the weekend we upgraded to Leopard Server 10.5.4 and am now seeing this same exact problem that was discussed here and never answered: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1290360&tstart=237
Whenever a windows user opens a word document via smb it creates as follows:
On a file called 'test save.doc', having been opened in Word, amended and saved I would end up with the following files.
    ~$st save.doc
    ~WRD0000.tmp
    ~WRD0001.tmp
    test save.doc
These temp files are locked and can't be deleted from the users machines. they have to be deleted from the server hosting the files. Permissions are set thru ACLs and access to folders and files are working accordingly. But for some reason these temp files are being created on every word document that is opened and aren't being automatically removed after closing the document
    thanks for any help!

the change that I made was to /etc/smb.conf
    acl check permissions = no
I stopped the samba service, put that into /etc/smb.conf and restarted samba services.
all seems to be well on the open frontier. hope this helps someone out

  • How Do I Stop Auto Creating .Tmp Files In adobe?

~ps2CA2.tmt for example, and other kinds of tmt files are auto creating by itself when I try to save my work in Photoshop cs5, so annoying because I can't even save any work sometimes until I delete them from my folder and also they appear in my dreamweaver cs5 after I save something (sometimes).
My computer is brand new, I have a spyware pc doctor, got no virus, please help!

Are you saving to a network drive? If so, the behavior is normal and utterly unrelated to the Adobe programs. otehr programs behave just the same. The same would apply when saving to internal or locally mounted external drives that are too slow or formatted with a different file system. anyway, if, as you say, you sometimes cannot even save your files, you have a serious problem on your hand, but without any more specific info nobody will be able to help you.

If so then that would explain the temp files as the IIS server in windows 7 creates a temp file when items are added for its own file management.

  • Users see all applications in RDS 2012 Web access in one-way trust domain environment

    Hello!
    We have RDS 2012 deployment in domainA.local. There is a one-way trust between domainA.local and domainB.local: A trusts B and B doesn't trust A.
A user from domainB.local authenticates in Web-access interface (wa.domainA.local) and sees
every published application in every collection in the deployment independently of UserGroups setting of collections and applications. This occurs for any domainB user.
In the security log of wa.domainA.local we can find an event :
An account failed to log on.
    Subject:
    Security ID:                IIS APPPOOL\RDWebAccess
    Account Name:                RDWebAccess
    Account Domain:                IIS APPPOOL
    Logon ID:                0x2C7B16
    Logon Type:                        3
    Account For Which Logon Failed:
    Security ID:                NULL SID
    Account Name:
    Account Domain:
    Failure Information:
Failure Reason:                An error occurred during logon
    Status:                        0xC000005E
    Sub Status:                0x0
Also in network trace on wa.domainA.local kerberos error could be found:
On TGS-REQ for krbtgt/[email protected] there is an answer: KRB5KDC_ERR_S_PRINCIPAL_UNKNOWN (7), server name krbtgt/domainB.
How to deal with this issue? The aim is to show only specified applications to domainB users.

  • /tmp files access

    Hello!
I would like access to /tmp files in root mode but I can't.
When I make an ls -l there is no files, but the files displayed in download managment window.
Is there any problem with xdm server?
Must I stop xdm to acces to /tmp files?
How can do to stop and restart it?
    thank you very much.
Excuse me for my bad English.

    predator

    Hi predator,
maybe a few rows of documentation will be good. Root mode I think doesn't exists, it's single user mode if you mean this.
It's strange if you cannot access the /tmp dir. So if you use for example the firefox to download (that I cannot resolv from your posting) be sure that you downloading to tmp please.
Why do you think that is problem with xdm?
No you cannot stop xdm to view /tmp.
So I think that you can restart xdm:
    svcadm restart xdm

  • Fast web access

Is it possible to have a fast web access pdf load only a specified number of pages, at least to start with?  Say the top/first ten pages of a larger pdf?
I have a web site which displays a multi page pdf, which is regularly being added to; new pages go to the top on a regular basis. (It is a legal file - when a new piece of correspondence comes in, it is added to the pdf).  The viewer usually only wants to view the several new pages I have added.  But every time the whole document is downloaded, which in this case is a waste of the client's download limits.
I do of course enable fast web access and use Acrobat's Reduce File Size... feature.  They are always black and white files.  All of this helps the download speed.
If the viewer wants to view pages beyond the initial ten, then the request for page 11 could then trigger a request for another 10??
Any feedback on this issue greatly appreciated.

I use this forum on a variety of Win7 32 and 64 bit machines and I have not experienced any slowness in loading at all.  I reckon that it takes less than 1 sec to load any page and at my age, that's faster than a blink of my eye.  My broadband connection is a constant 6.6 Mbps using the MkII curved hub with full home network with many devices attatched (PC's, printers, NAS drives + BT vision, Blu-ray BD etc, etc.).  I use IE8 on all machines and F-Secure Internet security.  All machines also run MSoffice 2010 which is soooo good.
Overall, the new site is fine.

  • Secondary domain controller not able to connect from work stations.

We are using primary and secondary domain controllers. In which the secondary domain controller act as a replication server. actually the problem occurs while accessing the secondary domain controller from work stations I get the following error:
"The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed".
Any one please give as a solution.
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Most simple resolution would be unjoin/disjoin the computer from the domain and rejoin the computer account back to the domain.
There might be multiple reasons for this kind of behavior.
Here are a few of them:
Single SID has been assigned to multiple computers.
If the Secure Channel is Broken between Domain controller and workstations
If there are no SPN or DNS Host Name mentioned in the computer account attributes
    Outdated NIC Drivers.
According your description, the second one may be the cause of your problem.
When a Computer account is joined to the domain, Secure Channel password is stored with computer account in domain controller. By default this password will change every 30 days (This is an automatic process, no manual intervention is required).
Upon starting the computer, Netlogon attempts to discover a DC for the domain in which its machine account exists. After locating the appropriate DC, the machine account password from the workstation is authenticated against the password on the DC.
If there are problems with system time, DNS configuration or other settings, secure channel’s password between Workstation and DCs may not synchronize with each other.
A common cause of broken secure channel [machine account password] is that the secure channel password held by the domain member does not match that held by the AD. Often, this is caused by performing a Windows System Restore (or reverting
to previous backup or snapshot) on the member machine, causing an old (previous) machine account password to be presented to the AD.
Follow below link which explains typical symptoms when Secure channel broken,
