WEB ADI Access

I create one custom integrator in the web Adi, and its working fine from desktop integrator responsibility,
but I want to give the access on this one Integrator to particular user, but when I attach the desktop Integrator Resp to user some other integrator also available to that user,
Please guide me how to give the access of only one Integrator to user, means in the list of LOV only one integrator need to be visible.

Hi Sathish,
when I attached the custom function into the custom menu and responsibility its not visible into the responsibility,
so I attached "Desktop Integration - Create Document " then only my web adi comes into the list of values into the desktop integration form,
but the issue is some more web adi also comes into the list.. I want to restrict other web adi from that list. so that HR people only access HR related web ADI. now some finance related web adi also comes into the list of values.

    I am creating the layout for a sales order which will be send to a customer.
    In that order the customer can see the payment conditions.
    It should look like this:
    net price: 1000,00 EUR
    19,00% taxes: 190,00 EUR
    gross price: 1190,00 EUR                          
    payment conditions:
    payable within 30 days net: 1190,00 EUR
    payable within 14 days with discount of 2 %: 1166,20 EUR
    to get the bold marked digits I need to have access on the following tables:
    OCTG and CDC1
    In the OCTG table I get the days (in this example 30)
    In the CDC1 table I get the days of cash discount and the percentage (in this example 14 and 2)
    but in the sales order layout in PLD only the OCTG table is shown when I create a database field and the CDC1 table isn't.
    So what can I do to get this?

    I have developed two Integrators using Web ADI in Oracle application R12.First Integrator is used for download the data and second for
    Update the data in system.
    For both integrator separate two function are created and tagged with single menu.Whenever I want to access Download the excel (via download integrator)
    then Update Integrator is also shown (in LOV) during navigation ,its happening vice versa as well.
    Here my concern about restriction for indivisual integrator, becasuse always integrator is tagged to a perticualar function So in call of perticular Integrator other Integratior should not be available in list values.
    Please help and advise on the same.

    Hi Deepak,
    the scenario you are describing should not happen. WebADI deals with security entries and this shall be rather restrictive.
    Please check the following:
    - How many entries do you have in BNE_SECURED_OBJECTS referencing your integrator and/or referencing your function?
    => in your case you should have exactly 2 lines, one for every integrator and the function shall be different.
    If this is the case the next step is to check how often the function is assigned to a menu, also here to limit the access you should have two different menus, linked to the two functions. Assuming the menu isn't your main menu, make sure that for the different users always only one of the menus is linked.
    If all the prerequisites are fulfilled, one person with one menu should see only one integrator.

  • Web ADI in 11.5.10.2 vs Thick Client ADI Functionality?

    I am the Apps DBA and we recently patched our 11.5.10.2 instance to the latest RUP6 patches which included BNE (Web ADI) patches. We have not done the functional post-steps for Web ADI, nor have we rolled out Web ADI, because of internal debate on our team. For me, I would like people to get off thick client apps, esp since ADI is so old (requiring Oracle 8 sqlnet) and the associated termserver we have set up to access it. Others however say that the users in Finance will not be able to replicate the functionality they need using WebADI, and that in fact we should just wait until R12 to upgrade to WebAdi. Apparently several financial consultants feel the same. Can anyone state their own experiences and the "bottom line" on WebAdI Functionality as it currently exists? thanks!

    The last organization I worked at implemented webadi a number of years ago with minimal pain. Pretty sure that they were just using it for journal imports.
    The comparison linked in the previous comment hasn't been updated recently, I think the budget and asset wizards are in place now.
    Creating custom integrators for webadi has been commented on in these forums in the past and they seem to be in use at a number of different installations.

  • Custom WEB ADI for Item Category Assignment

    Hello,
    We created following custom WEB ADI .
    1.) Item Update  ( No Security )
    2.) Item category assignment ( WITH Security of Organization Access )
    Created custom responsibility XX_INVENTORY with custom Menu (subset of INV_NAVIGATE)
    Added responsibility/organizationsfor XX_INVENTORY using organization access form.
    NOW
    POINT 1: Both ADI works as expected when added as function to Standard Inventory responsibility with menu INV_NAVIGATE.
    POINT 2: Item Update ( with No Security) Works fine from custom responsibility
    POINT 3: Item category assignment (with organization security) fails with "invalid integration key" error from custom responsibility. But if the user has "System Administrator" responsibility to his account it works fine, which makes me think that it has to do something with custom responsibility.
    Applicatio: R12.1.3
    Excel 2010
    BNE Allow No Security Rule to Yes at user level

    Still the same even after bouncing application. But if application bouncing was issue then none of the custom ADI should have worked from custom application. But ONLY ONE of the two is not working. Item update ADI is working just fine but Item Category assignment is not.
    Any more clues??
    I tried by adding Create Document, adding Desktop Integration menu to custom responsibility menu, nothing works. As soon as I add "System Administrator" responsibility to User  OR add the custom ADI function to standard inventory responsibility with INV_NAVIGATE menu, it works.
    Please let me know if anybody has any clue on this issue.

    Web ADI Create Document - Short Cut - Save to Form Funciton, available only to select WEB ADI Responsibilites
    How do I make available saved Short Cuts - Form Functions, available to a select group of GL Responsibilites that can only create Web ADI documents. I only want them to be able to select about 4 to 8 saved Short Cuts, limiit all others and not allow them to create new short cuts using "Save to Short Cut List" or "Save to Form Functon".
    Saved functions start with a generic name (Example: xxxxxx - Fun Amts - Single Ex2003). Other form functions not to be assessable with start with a differenct genteric name (Example: yyyyyy - Fun Amts - Single Ex2003).
    Responsiblities follow a generic name pattern of: aaaaaaaa Comapny_Name Web ADI, where Company_Name can change by responsiblity. All aaaaaaaa would be allowed access to the same saved form functions.
    WEB ADI used only for GL Journal Entry
    RDBMS 10.2.0.4.0
    Apps: 11.5.10.2

    Hi All,
    I am new to web ADI. I need to add a column to existing custom web ADI which is fetching data from view and after editing it allows to upload data and make changes. I have added a column to the view from which web ADI is fetching but i am not able to fetch the newly added column in mapping under source column. Can anyone please help me.

    Hi Yash,
    Have you tried using a web link field on the object you wish to pass the field from to access the custom web tab? i.e. if you want to pass Account Name as a parameter into the contents of a custom web tab you can configure a web link field to launch a URL in a custom web tab and pass the %%%AccountName%%% as a parameter on the URL.
    As Deepak has already pointed out, you must have the context of a specific record in order to pass a value into a custom web applet so you must be on the detail page of the selected record first.

  • Configuring Web ADI

    Hi All
    When I try to export the data from the People> Enter and Maintain using the Export Data icon, I am getting the following error mssg:
    "Function not available to this responsibility. Change responsibilites or contact system administrator.
    And also when I try to export data from some other windows, its is showing the following error:
    "APP_PER_289792: Before you can run a mail merge or data extract from this window, your system administrator must define a Web ADI integrator and associate it with the window. There are currently no integrators associated with this window."
    How to configure and use the Web ADI's in HRMS?

    One of the known issues when applying Patch 3218526 - BNE.D is:
    Error: You do not have permission to access this functionality.
    This error will be shown after applying BNE.D and not completing the Post-install steps noted in Note: 287080.1 - About Web Applications Desktop Integrator Mini-pack 11i.BNE.D. If this error is received after completing the Post-install steps, it may be caused by bug 3951092. A workaround is for users to remove all items in their Self Service Favorites menu.

  • Web ADI and Excel XP

    Hi,
    I am trying to create a custom integrator using HR Integrator setup. The downloaded excel sheet shows up a modal window " Processing: Create Document" and it remains in that state forever. I also dont see Oracle menu option in the menu bar. My desktop configuration is: Windows XP home & Excel XP and I have set required options in IE and Excel. I tried on another desktop with Excel 2003 and it works fine there. So did any one face any issues working with Excel XP?Any help is much appreciated.

    I am using Web ADI with Excel XP and it is working fine. Please ensure that the Security Level is set to Medium and Trusted publisher is also set to "Trust access to Visual Basic Project".
    Also, for the browser set browser security correctly i.e
    in Local Intranet -> Custom Level -> "Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked safe" to Prompt

  • Oracle Web ADI integrate with Fixed Asset

    Dear All,
    We are doing a test for integrating fixed asset - physical inventory with Oracle Web ADI. We have managed to define the layout and create mapping for Fixed Asset - Physical Inventory, but when it came to create document for fixed asset, it does not have Fixed Asset - Physical Inventory as the integrator in the list. Does anyone know how to add Fixed Asset - Physical Inventory into the list of integrator? If you know how to do it, may you please post me the steps to add it?

    If you need provisioning, your product is OIM. OAM
    controls access to web applicationes. If you need to
    provision different apps, and each one has its own
    user repository, you will need to deploy an OIM
    connector for each of them.I have done the integration of OIM 10.1.4.2 with Oracle Apps 11i and now consider on adding other standalone applications such web apps, discoverer to the system. Seems from your answer, we do not need OAM. We only want the accounts managed at the central OIM. Let me know if i am wrong.

    I never used Web ADI. i read some document and feel that it is easy... but facing problem while developing.
    The basic requirement as follows -
    1. There is a custom database, say XXA.
    2. A staging table (xxa_table) for upload data from csv files to base table.
    3. Data upload using concurrent program from xxa_table to base table is working fine; but now I need to upload csv file from user desktop and load the csv data into staging table (xxa_table).
    After applying below scripts I got some permission access error.
    Please guide me to setup for upload csv data in to staging table using web adi.

  • Web ADI Error: Permissions and Connection Issues (Please Help)

    I'm new to WEB ADI and I'm trying to set up on an 11.5.10 Oracle Application. I'm reading the white paper "Understand and using Web ADI in Oracle HRMS" From metalink
    I created the functions Create Document, Web ADI Layout Definition, Web ADI Text Mapping and HRMS Create Document. I also create the sub menus HR ADI Seeded Integrator Form Functions and HR ADI Skills Seeded Integrator Form Functions in the menu US_SHRMS_NAV, and made sure the ‘BNE Allow No Security Rule’ is set to Yes
    I was able to get the seeded download procedure to work, however the seeded upload procedure didn't work for me. I received an error " The connection to the server is unavailable". I also notice that I don't have access to HR Update Salary Proposals Integrator or the HR Integrator Setup integrator, when I select them from WEB ADI I get the following error "You do not have permission to access this functionality."
    Can someone please assist me in get passed these issue?

  • Web ADI with excel 2010,

    Hi,
    Is it possible to use Web ADI with excel 2010.
    I saw an article in metalink saying we need to apply a patch in order to word.
    However we were able to generate the template without applying the patch, but it didnt have the Oracle under Add Ins menu.
    Does anyone know if it is possbible to use web adi with excel 2010 without appying a patch.

    Close all your excel windows which you have opened
    open new excel, navigate to
    File-->Options-->Trust Center--> Click on Trust Center Settings
    select Macro Settings --> Select the radio button Enable all Macros (not recommended;potentially, dangerous code can run) { dont worry about selectign this option once web adi is downloaded changes back to its original disable notifications icon}
    Enable the check box Trust Access to the VBA Project Object Model
    Click on OK again click on OK close the excel

    I'll be working on some crystal report templates that will eventually be hosted/publish on the CR Server XI.
    My questions are:
    1. How my J2EE web application access those reports?
    2. Do my web application uses some CR API for the connectivity and integration?
    3. What will happen to the database connectivity of the report template? since the report are created locally.
    4. Can the report template be edited/updated on the server?
    5. How the CR XI login functionality be involve in the integration (web application ---> CR Server XI)?
    6. Is the J2EE web application be deployed on similar web/application server where the CR Server XI resides?
    7. What is the role of RAS, Universe, Business View Manager to this whole CR integration?

    1) Your application connects via the Java SDK using the appropriate JAR files.
    2) It can.  You can set the database information at runtime or use the already populated information from Enterprise.
    3) Same as 2.   Typically when you save the report to Enterprise you set up the database information there so that it runs against the database you want without prompting.  You can change this via code to hit whatever equivalent database you want.
    4) Yes.  You would have to use RAS and the RCAPI to accomplish this via code.  You can also make changes in the designer and overwrite the existing report template.
    5) You will log in via code. The information on how to do so is in the SDK documentation, which I will link.
    6) It can be deployed to the same machine as CR Server, though we recommend against that.  Typically you will want to deploy it to a seperate web server and allow it to connect to the CR Server across the network.
    7) RAS can be used to run reports, as well as the page server.  The universe and business view manager are not directly used in code.  If a report runs against a universe or business view then it will use them for data, but you wouldnt do anything with them directly.
