Web Analysis cannot start

Hi,
When I'm trying to start the Web Analysis, the system seems to stop at the loading screen and cannot start. It neither prompt me for installing the Java runtime nor returning any error message.
Would any experts here be kind enough to advise what might be the problem and how I can solve it.

Try these option-
1) Allow the pop up to come (change the popup setting)
2) Add the webAnalysis address in trusted sites

  • Multiple LV instances, web server cannot start, port already in use

    Hi there,
    I have a general question about webserving VIs in case either
    a) multiple instances of the LV development environment are running (this is possible in windows XP for instance when "switch users" is allowed and each user launches LV)
    b) multiple compiled LV executables are run by the same user
    c) any mixture of the two above
    I have an application case when either of the three above would be a very good solution, was not for the problem encountered. Say, b): the user is given two deployed executables, and can decide to run either or both concurrently. Moreover, I want these applications to be visible on the web, so they are compiled with the webserver turned on, default settings.
    The problem I've seen (LV8.5.1, winXp for sure, but I think I've seen it as well in linux and other versions as well) is that each new instance of the LV engine tries to get hold of the tcp port (default 80), so that all instances beyond the first complain about "The Web Server cannot start. Is the Web Server port already in use?"
    While I can understand the origin of the message, and found some posts on the forums somehow related to it, I don't like it too much. 
    I could think only of two workarounds here: 1) set different web server ports for each LV instance, and instruct the remote users to direct their browsers to a webserverort link to access each VI; 2) run all the applications from the same instance of the LV dev system. The latter is not so convenient for me, due to conflicts in global VIs between all instances of the applications [compiling executables IS a way to privatize memory spaces in this case, AND global variables are imho well justified for the fairly complex application I have in mind here].
    Is there a third, more elegant solution perhaps, which I'm missing?

  • Configured Oracle Web Tier, cannot start opmn

    Hi,I am new to server technologies.
    I have installed WebCenter Suite. Now I want to config OAM to use SSO. Refering to Administrator's Guide for Oracle WebCenter I should install Oracle Web Tier first.
    But when I Configured Oracle Web Tier ( address ), I cannot start opmn.

    Hope you had successfully installed the WebTier. I tried 2,3 times to install it on WINDOWS SERVER 2003 but it is throwing following exception during "Create and Start OHS Component) at configuration stage. Did you get similar type of exception?
    Not sure it was due to any conflicts with any of already installed Database 11g, Web Logic, SOA Suite.
    Help is appreciated.

  • Web Cache cannot start

    Hi!
    Tried to start my Web Cache using opmnctl I get the following error on $ORACLE_HOME/webcache/logs/evets.log

    It seems as there is no traffic hitting my web cache coz there no entries on $ORACLE_HOME/webcache/access_log

  • Web cahce cannot start

    I failed to start web cache on solaris.
    Some info in log:
    04/Sep/2001:17:54:41 -0500 -- Error: Could not increase number of file/socket descriptors to 1050.

    Does anyone give a suggestion?

    See section 5 of the v2.0.0.0 or v2.0.0.1 readme. It says:
    5.0 Connection Limitations
    5.1 Unix
    On most UNIX platforms there is a hard limit to how many file descriptors a process can open. This number is normally 1024 but is configurable. To be able to
    change this default to a higher one, you have to be root or run the process as root. The other way is to set the setuid bit for the process to root. The procedure for
    doing this is the same as listed below in section 10.0 "How to Configure Oracle Web Cache to Listen on Port <1024".
    In this release, Oracle Web Cache calculates the maximum number of file descriptors to be used by using the following simple formula:
    Max number of file descriptors to be used = Current Maximum Incoming Connections (specified in the webcache.xml through the Web Cache Manager
    interface) + sum of Capacity for all the configured origin Web Server instances + 20 (reserved for internal use).
    Based on the above formula the Web Cache server tries to reserve this many file descriptors at startup time. In case it fails to do so, it doesn't default to a lower
    value but logs an error message and fails to start. In case the Web Cache server fails to start because the number of file descriptors required is more that 1024,
    either run it as root or setuid the execuable to root.
    Also, always set the "Current Maximum Incoming Connections" in Web Cache Manager to reflect correctly the maximum number of clients you intend to serve
    concurrently at any given time. The value should not be set to an arbitrary high value, as Web Cache sets aside some resources for each and the performance
    would be adversely affected.
    5.2 Windows
    On Windows NT Server and Windows 2000, the number of file handles as well as socket handles is limited only by available kernel resources, more precisely, by
    the size of paged and non-paged pools. But the number of active TCP/IP connections is limited. In Windows NT the system starts to reuse TCP Control Blocks in
    TIME-WAIT when the number of active connections goes over 1000. Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 3 increased this threshold to 2000.
    Windows NT Workstation is limited to 5 concurrent connections. Oracle Web Cache is not designed to run on Windows NT Workstation.

    Are you sure there is not another web analysis web application process running, have you checked the processes running on the machine, you may have to kill or stop one of them to release the lock.

  • Unable to start Web Analysis .Service Temporarily Unavailable

    Hi,
    I am using the following URL to access Web Analysis http://testdb.xxx.xxx.xx:19000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp. But it throws up the following error -
    "*Service Temporarily Unavailable, the server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.*"
    FYI
    1. I'm using EPM 11.1.1.3 on Linux Server (Tikanga)
    2. Planning, Shared Services, Workspace, Essbase etc. are working fine. The problem is only with Web Analysis. However, even Web Analysis was working fine in the not-so-distant past.
    I have tried stopping and starting the Web Analysis service but that doesn't seem to help.
    Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Web Analysis was working just fine until recently. Now the problem is only with WA. Everything else is working as it should If nothing gets Web Analysis up and running again, is there a way I can retrieve my saved report files? I can view these files from Workspace -> Explore -> Reports folder.

  • Cannot start default web site

    I was being a nice husband and moving my wife to a new machine while she is in India on business. I went to join the machine using the connector and the connector install failed. During the troubleshooting of this issue I installed patches and rebooted.
    I do not often patch so there were a few. Upon reboot I am unable to start the default website. I get the error This website cannot be started. Another website may be using the same port. I also did a netstat –o to see if anything was running on port 80. Can
    anyone assist me?

    Hi,
    What's your mean of "cannot start default web site"？
    If you mean that the client can't access the website, please follow the troubleshooting steps below:
    Please try to ping an external IP address. If timeout occurs, this is a connectivity issue. You need to check the IP address, netmask, gateway, DNS.
    Please try to run nslookup www.microsoft.com. If this website can't be resolved, this is a DNS issue. Please check the DNS settings and the firewall settings.
    If all these tests passed, please try to reset your Internet Explorer.
    If you mean that the server can't start the website in IIS, please check if there is any warning or error in the event viewer of the server. Besides, please try to start the IIS manually. If any error pops up, please post it here. It may give some hints.

  • Web Analysis document as start-up in Workspace

    I want a Web Analysis document to open when the users log onto Workspace. Does anybody know how to do this?

    Well I found one way to do it but I gotta call Support because it caused me an issue, so you probably don't want to try this.
    I changed one of my admin's Workspace Preferences to open a Document by default, then chose a Web Analysis document. Simple enough right?
    Log in to Workspace | File | Preferences | General Content | Document | then select your Web Analysis doc
    Now when that user types in their UserID/pwd on the Workspace login page it immediately launches a separate IE session with the Web Analysis view. Which is fine. However, back on the Workspace IE page it never logs in to Workspace it's just hung there trying to log in. You can never get back in! Not even to change your Preference back to open a different document on startup! At least we weren't able to at my company.
    To fix I had to modify a table in the database for that user's Prefs to remove the path to the WA document then I was able to log back in to Workspace like normal and do something different for the startup Prefs.

  • Web Analysis is not working

    I recently installed Hyperion BI+ in my server and I'm trying to do some reports in Web Analyzer.
    My installation and configuration went successfull.
    I can open FR, IR ..
    I'm trying to open WorkSpace and Web Analysis...
    both are not working...
    When Im trying to open web analysis using the below URL Im getting error..
    http://<servername>i:19000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp
    but when I'm using this URL http://<Servername>i:16000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp
    I can see the open page.. but the Web Analysis window is not coming.. I'm getting blank page...
    and for workspace also.. when I'm using 45000 port.. it is working but I cannot open any reports.. some debug error is coming..
    when I'm using the default port 19000.. Im getting network error...
    Please help me in this issue..
    Do I need to do any modifications in my configuration or property files....
    my Java application is Tomcat(default).. databases is Oracle 10G Enterprise Edition.

    Regarding Web Analysis- I believe- It's a problem of JRE.
    - Just remove/uninstall the JRE from your Currently installed Programs. You may want to reboot the m/c
    - Open Web Analysis Studio in the Web browser. Now, since it can't find JRE, it'll set up the relevant JRE for you & you may continue using Web Analysis.
    - Please note- Unless you've changed to a different one during configuration, Web Analysis operates on 16000 port.
    Check the following regarding Workspace-
    - Your service may be down, thus, throwing Network error
    - You may've to re-configure Workspace. Start the service & wait for few mins. before opening Workspace.

  • Output from Web Analysis Related Content will not Export to Excel

    I have Web Analysis reports, data in which is sourced from an EIS database. I have drill thru reports that are accessible from "Related Content". The resulting report is created fine, but cannot be exported into Excel. Specifically, I'm prompted for the location of Excel on my pc. Once I browse to it, it will open in Excel.
    I have upgraded from Office 10 to Office 12, although I cannot say for certain that is when this problem started occurring.
    Secondly, there are no other BI+ issues with export to Excel. For example, FR and WA export fine. The ExcelPath in the webanalysis.properties file takes care of that. I'm hoping there is something similar to update for this problem.
    Thanks for reading, hopefully someone else has encountered this and successfully resolved. BI+ version is 9.3.1.

    Have you tried the print button in the web analyzer it does export the input filter parameters as part of the exported PDF document.
    You can include any additional text elements and use a custom export template if required.

  • Java issue with web analysis

    Hi,
    Web analysis is taking too long to start on client machines. I had this issue a couple of years ago with java 1.4.10. hyperion came back with a solution to increase the memory java uses on both the server and the client.

    I cannot see on java 1.5.11 how to add this in. Java 1.5 was meant to make web analysis faster. In some environments it has but in this partilcuar case web analysis is very slow.
    I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest a way to make web analysis faster.
    The server environment is unix. Can a cache setting be added to java?
    The client issue is the most pressing one.

    Go to Java Control Panel, select the Java tab. You'll see Java Applet Runtime Settings section. Click View and fill the Runtime Parameter with your settings.

  • Using conditional formatting on negative values in Web Analysis 931

    Hi All,
    Can I please have your thoughts on the below:
    We open a web analysis report in Analyze View.
    The scenarios are in the columns and we are trying to apply conditional formatting on negative values.
    We right click the scenario in the columns and click Formatting...
    We then tick the Conditional Formatting check box and we want to add a condition on negative numbers.
    However we can only enter positive values as the - sign is not accepted. This means we cannot apply conditional formatting on negative values.
    Does anyone know how this can be done? Am I missing the obvious?

    Gotcha. Ok. Have you thought about creating a new hidden calculated ColumnB whereby you multiply the values in ColumnA by -1 and then set your formatting based on the result in ColumnB. If the value in B is positive then you know A was a negative number so you can go from there, in a round about way? I don't have time at the moment to think it all the way out but something to think about. If your formatting involves just colors you could use Traffic Lighting to set the color on ColumnA based on result in ColumnB. Traffic Lighting out of the box is limited but it's a start until you have time to build your own.

  • Unable to open web analysis reports through workspace

    Hi,
    I am connecting web analysis with MSSQL server 2000 and generating reports. I am using essbase 9.3.1 version.
    But my problem now is that I can just open these reports from web analysis studio and cannot open them from workspace. In workspace, if I right click on the report and open it from web analysis studio it does open. But it does not open by double clicking the report in workspace. It just shows a blank report on just parts of the report.
    The issue is only there for the reports that are getting data from relational db (MSSQL server 2000). The other reports that are using the cube data are fine and opening from everywhere.
    Are there any other configuration settings involved in order to open a web analysis report(that uses relational db) from workspace?

    This has several tests you can perform to see what's running.

  • "Device Cannot Start - Code 10" - Windows Vista Error, w/ 2nd Gen. Nano

    I'm having trouble with my Nano and Windows Vista. The computer is recognizing the iPod just fine and seeing all of my songs, but nothing will play and the diamond bar does not move. I can't hear previews online either.
    Under device manager, a yellow "!" shows up for the iPod, and it says "Device Cannot Start - Code 10" when I check. All of my drivers and updates are current as of today. So is iTunes. Any thoughts?

    This is a reasonably common error on a PC when there is a problem with either a USB device, your USB cables or hardware, or the system drivers.
    In a case where, as you say, the device works properly with other computers, the problem is more likely to be with the hardware or drivers on the computer you're trying to connect to.
