Web Analysis client failure at startup

I'm reseive an exception with message:
"Cannot create unregistered service: analyzer.licensing.service"
Any suggestion?

I've encountered this problem (although it wasn't IE specific). I solved it by uninstalling all JREs installed on my machine. Logging back on to Web Analysis will then detect that the JRE is not available and prompt you if you want to install the JRE that it needs. Accept and let it download and install. Then try Web Analysis again.

Configuration problem with Applet Hyperion Web Analysis

We have installed Hyperion Web Analysis 9.3 on IBM Websphere 6.1 however we have some problems when we try to enter Web Analysis URL (http://localhost:9085/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp) due to Applet Web Analysis Client do not initiate. We had checked Web Analysis logs and we found the next error:

Web Analysis in 9.3.x throws a blank grey screen

All,
When I launch Hyperion Web Analysis I am prompted about requiring an older version of Java. I see the splash screen and the popup starts that normally takes me to the Web Analysis client. However, at this point I get a blank grey screen with no buttons, splash, etc. We have tried starting and stopping the Web Analysis service, and also power cycled all 3 boxes (the other using Shared Services, etc) and made sure the services come back up in the correct order. Workspace seems to work fine, as does financial reporting, but the Web Analysis applet is completely blank. I have found a (very) few recommendations on the web, but none seem to help. I have a ticket in, and they told me to remove the Java installed, run it again, and let it install which also did nothing. I am out of ideas...please help.

Do you also have SSL enabled? That really sucks, at times. I believe- you must've got to see the famous- *"Client not inited"* error at the bottom-left hand corner(i.e. on Status bar) of the main browser window. Correct?
In any case, visit this Applet Web analysis client notinited . It might help you in a way!!!

Do I need install web analysis on client machine?

I have installed web analysis in the server, to let the user to access web analysis, should I also install web analysis in the user's machine, or just let them access the web analysis URL, http//hostname:16000/webanalysis ?

They should really access through the workspace port :- http://hostname:19000/workspace/index.jsp login and then access WebAnalysis via workspace
or http://hostname:19000/WebAnalysis/WebAnalysis.jsp
It should automatically download the java client if the user does not have it installed.
If a JRE is not installed it should deliver jre-1_5_0_17-windows-i586-p.exe

Web Analysis Webapp install where Client need Java 1.6

Hello
because our JRE rollout to the clients increases the JRE Version , the version lag between the one Web Analysis needs on the client and the one available increases steadily.
Therefore it would by nice if someone describes in a straightforward manner the way to install Web Analysis Web Application that needs a Java 1.6 on the client side.

Web Analysis lauching error

Hi all,
I recently installed Hyperion BI+ in my server and I'm trying to do some reports in Web Analysis.
My installation and configuration went successfull.
I'm trying to open Web Analysis and It says the session is in progress take few minutes to open web analysis browser.I waited for nearly 1 hr but the browser is not showing up.I tried again by closing the window but no luck i getting the same thing....
Any help on this would be really appreciated.

I'm still getting an error while starting the web analysis and the error is error occured while initializing startup options.

Error Launching Web Analysis Report from the Hyperion Workspace

Hi Everyone
When launching the report as a HTML from the Workspace, the output flashes briefly on screen
The view in the content pane disappears to leave a blank screen.
When I Select View | Refresh. The following result is returned "Web Analysis Information" -1
I have set the report in start up preferences. And Web Analysis preferences set to open as HTML
After logging on again the following error is shown " An attempt to open "Actual vs Budget" Failed
Show Details displays: this.getFocusRoot() is nullor not an object
The reports all display correctly when launched from the Web Analysis studio
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated

Thanks for the advise but I have looked into your possible solution and referred to the Web Analysis user guide. I have a number of reports and when selecting the Design for HTML option - a number of objects are valid and should be displayed in the workspace.
After creating reports from scratch - with valid objects - the problem still persists.
Unfortunately, I don't think this provides a solution to the problem.

Web Analysis functions not working in Workspace

I am looking for a list of Web Analysis functions that are available in the Java client that will not work in the Workspace DHTML client (Version 9.3.1.0). Any guidance would be appreciated.

There are 4 types of differences:
- font differences, Workspace (DHTML) uses the WA Server fonts whereas WA Studio client machine fonts.
- Service Buttons are very restricted using Workspace
- Display: Tab selection, Splitter panels, Slider selection do not render in Workspace
- Cannot restrict WA Tools menu in Workspace at all, where you can in the Studio.

Interactive Reportin vs Web Analysis

Hi all
I've a question about Interactive Reporting (IR).
I know that I can design a report based on Multidimensional DB using Web Analysis (WA), Financial Report (FR), and IR.
3 ways to get data from same DB. I don't know so well IR, so I ask: According to your experience and knowledge, in which situations you advice to use IR?
Usually, I rely on Web Analysis, sometimes I use FR when I need particular formatting that I can't do using Web Analysis.
My client (future, I hope, now it's just a prospect) has many report done with IR, I cannot analyze them. He says they're slow. Any issue related to performance or other things?

Thanks for the response. Does OBIEE 11g have dashboard capabilities that can build dashboards from multidimensional data source such as Essbase? The reason I ask this question is that we have two different teams working at this client: one for implementing Oracle EBS and the other Oracle Hyperion (I am part of Hyperion team). The next phase of our project involves implementing OBIEE. If I am understanding you right, Web Analysis (or for that matter, Interactive Reporting) is NOT needed if OBIEE is being implemented?

Hyperion Web Analysis Studio - Excel Export Data PATH TO EXCEL

I have a problem with Hyperion Web Analysis Studio by Export Data (Path to Excel) function on every client (windows Vista - IE 7 - Office 2007)
The problem is when I try to use the Export data to Excel, the Path to the excel program is missing and I have to go manually over the directory and choose the excel.exe to export the report, when I restart the IE I have to do it again...
Hyperion support suggested I try adding the Excel path to my webanalysis.properties file
So I now have:

Even we have the same issue.And changed the path in webanalysis.properties file.And it worked in entire report but in drillthru reports, export to excel 2010 didn't work and prompting to select the path to excel.Does anyone has solution for this??

Export to excel/word/ppt failed at Web Analysis studio

Hi,
I open a document and right click to select export data and select Microsoft excel or word or ppt, and after input the file name, it will prompt an error message saying "can not export to file".
Is there any prerequisite to use the Export to Excel/Word/PPT functionalities at Web analysis studio of EPM 11.1.2? Do I need to install office at the server side?
Or I need specific version of office at client?

From memory: you need to have MSOffice installed on the report/print server and also the corresponding mimetypes added to workspace.

Web Analysis reports charts are not visible in work space

I have created couple of reports in web analysis 11.1.1.3 with charts embeeded in that reports and when i open the same report in the workspace iam not able to see the chart.
If any one have faced this issue give me an idea .

I using local deployment. I deploy my application directly from NWDS to a Mobile Client running also locally in my machine. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think that Mobile Client look for resources in NWDS workspace.

General users can't open web analysis reports as html

Hi guys,
I am facing an issue about Web Analysis. When I use the version pre-9, I can access web analysis directly with html client or java client.Then I set each user with each POV. Now I am using EPM11.1.1.3, I can just access web analysis by workspace.Then if I would like to access java client, I click Tools->links->web analysis studio. While I access html client by clicking explore in the workspace toolbar. However, if the user doesn't belong to admin group, I can't find the explore toolbar. Then I can't access html client. As we know, not all web analysis users should be admin users. This issue puzzles me very much. Is there someone who can give some good suggestions? Thanks a lot.

Hi, you don't mention what roles you have assigned to the current users (except Admin), which as you stated isn't a good idea ;-)
You need to add Analyst & Explorer roles for your users.

Arabic Language aliases issue in Web Analysis reports

I'm using Web Analysis to build reports with aliases in Arabic language. Aliases appear as small squares. Is there any configuration or workarounds should I do to solve this issue?

Hi,
Make sure that you have the right version of JRE in the system. Please try this steps in one client machine
1. Uninstall all the version f JREs from a client computer
2. launch Web Analysis Studio from that client computer
3. It will prompt you to download & install the compatible JRE from the Web Analysis server into your client computer
4. Install the JRE

Java issue with web analysis

Hi,
Web analysis is taking too long to start on client machines. I had this issue a couple of years ago with java 1.4.10. hyperion came back with a solution to increase the memory java uses on both the server and the client.

I cannot see on java 1.5.11 how to add this in. Java 1.5 was meant to make web analysis faster. In some environments it has but in this partilcuar case web analysis is very slow.
I would appreciate it if anyone could suggest a way to make web analysis faster.
The server environment is unix. Can a cache setting be added to java?
The client issue is the most pressing one.

Hi,
Go to Java Control Panel, select the Java tab. You'll see Java Applet Runtime Settings section. Click View and fill the Runtime Parameter with your settings.
