Web analysis document area

Hi guys,
Is it possible when you open a web analysis document, that the document area that appears on the left side, doesn't show or is collapsed?

Well I found one way to do it but I gotta call Support because it caused me an issue, so you probably don't want to try this.
I changed one of my admin's Workspace Preferences to open a Document by default, then chose a Web Analysis document. Simple enough right?
Log in to Workspace | File | Preferences | General Content | Document | then select your Web Analysis doc
Now when that user types in their UserID/pwd on the Workspace login page it immediately launches a separate IE session with the Web Analysis view. Which is fine. However, back on the Workspace IE page it never logs in to Workspace it's just hung there trying to log in. You can never get back in! Not even to change your Preference back to open a different document on startup! At least we weren't able to at my company.
To fix I had to modify a table in the database for that user's Prefs to remove the path to the WA document then I was able to log back in to Workspace like normal and do something different for the startup Prefs.
If you find a way to do it please let me know. Thanks!

I think you can only export WA documents/presentations in apt, ard or *arg files, not in XML.

Web Analysis document as start-up in Workspace

I want a Web Analysis document to open when the users log onto Workspace. Does anybody know how to do this?

Strange issue in opening Web Analysis document in workspace.

Dear All,
We are working on Hyperion system 9.3.1 and reports are developed using Web Analysis.
We have completed report development and going to distribute to users.But we are getting very strange error message.
We followed the following sequences-
1) Developed the reports with admin rights on Web Analysis reports and Essbase cube.
2) Create a user(say trainee) in Shared servicesand assigned the following roles Analyzer, Dynamic view, content publisher,explore rights and at essbase level- give the database access to user.
3) create a separate folder in Web Analysis studio and copy the WA reports there(say- reports).
4) At workspace level, We gave the access on folder and on report.
5) Now when we logged as user trainee, we are able to see the reports but reports are not opened and get the following messages-
[1033] Native:502 Invalid Object path specified,
App\Avg_Pln\Cube\Pln1\Dim\Period
Does we miss any point?
Kindly help us on this as this is going to very critical to us.

Not sure if this applies but there is a bug (fixed by patch 41) in v931 in which user session cookie info is not deleted - this could be causing the error if you are using the same browser - you will need to exit completely and clear cookies and cache. Then login as a new user.

Adding row/column in Web Analysis document

Dears,
I'm a beginner in Web Analysis. Is it possible to add a formula/text row/column in a document?

Unable to open reports and web analysis document in workspace

After installing reports and analysis 9.3.1, when I am trying to preview a test report on web or as a pdf preview I am getting these kind of errors.
 
Required application module analyzer.reportview is not configured. Please contact your administrator.
 
When I click OK on this it says communication error which says 
"http://hyprepdev.acml.com:19000/WebAnalysis/conf/AnalyzerConfig.xml?LOCALE_LANGUAGE=en <H1>SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle /WebAnalysis/conf/AnalyzerConfig.xml has not been defined.</H1> <H3>SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle hyprepdev.acml.com:19000 has not been defined.</H3> IBM WebSphere Application Server"
 
Similarly when I try to open as pdf preview I am getting the same error. 
Kindly advice.

Try changing the idle connection timeout on your Web Intelligence Processing Server to 60 minutes (from the CMC).
If this doesn't work, please add a trace to the Web Intelligence Processing Server (add a -trace to the command line parameters of the server). and post the log for the relevant time period.

Embedding a Web Analysis document in Workspace

Does anyone know if you can embed a WA document into a Personal Page w/in Workspace? I know that you can embed a IR document, but could not figure out how to embed a WA document. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Export web analysis document from workspace to excel

Hi all i have the problem regarding exporting the webanalysis document from workspace,i.e when i drilldown the webanalysis document to lowest level and right click on the report and select "export to excel " i am being prompted the webanalysis login and password and unable to view the report in excel . i have the requirement of export to excel directly without the webanalysis login page. pls do provide me the help.

It's possible to do it but it requires using a script. You can't do it by using the built-in Export Form Data command.

Export/import web analysis documents from a script

Does anyone know of a way to export and import WA documents to their .apt files in any way other than through the studio GUI? Even if its not simple, I'm willing to jump through any hoops required. Thanks in advance!

I dont know if you really need apt files offcourse. But if it is a for a workable export to use as an import to an other WA environment or for back up reasons you can off course use (A)LCM. in version 9.3.1 its still a commandline tool, which is failry straightforward if it comes to exporting WA documents. I 11 its (also) a GUI, but I've only seen that shortly. LCM utilty is installed during and on the Shared service server. Good luck.

Web Analysis does not drill down (Essbase datasource)

Hi!
I have a web analysis document which does not drill down to next level when double clicking on a parent level. In my report I have children of Area dimension selected individually and their parent on rows ( this means I have not used selection where I select only top member and its children; this is because one of the children should not be in the report). This is not an security issue, because I have admin rights to the essbase cube.
Usually when double-clicking on a member in report it should drill down to next level. This report does not drill down.
The strange thing is that if I select "Keep Only" for the top member of that dimension and then double-click it then drills down nicely???
When using a excel add-in and retrieving data there the same kind of report drills down without problems. Any ideas why this drill down does not work properly in Workspace (and also in Web Analysis Stuidio) ?

I checked out the dimension in question. It seems to have implied shares (parent having only one child). There seems to be implied shares in almost all child hierarchies which might explain the web analysis behaviour.
We are using V11. The application is an aggregate storage application.

How to arrange page dropdowns in the Web Analysis report

I have created a Web Analysis document based on my Esssbase cube. This document contains just one grid with 7 dropdowns. All dropdowns are in one line above and they are narrowed so as they all fit into 1 line within the screen and I cannot see the full names of members within a dropdown. So I need advice on how I can arrange the dropdowns in my Web Analysis report so that I can see the full names of members when opening the dropdown? Thank you so much!

Yes, it works if one creates dropdowns via combo box controls attached to the same data source as the spreadsheet and applying these controls via the service button control (in this case you do not create page dropdowns in the data layout window of the spreadsheet and leave them in the data layout window's Filter pane). Otherwise it is impossible to edit the size and position of page dropdowns created in the Data Layout window of the spreadsheet.

Web Analysis Chart - Can I create a Dynamic Title?

I'm creating a Web Analysis document (9.3) with muliple combo box choices that dynamically changes the Chart.
The document will then be used by users via Workspace.
I see how during the print process in the web analysis studio I can insert dynamic labels in the print header, but in workspace you only see this via the print via pdf process.
Ideally I'd like to set the dynamic label in the "Header Title" of the Chart Properties. That way it will be visible in the chart to the user and will be printed thru either print process.
Is it possible to set a dynamic lable via the chart properties? I have not been successful.

You can easily make dynamic headers by using Dynamic Text Labels, which reference members in the filter, pages or grid row/column:
<<cell DataSourceName 0, 0>> where 0,0 are the co-ordinates you wish to reference.

Web Analysis Studio. Error in report that uses dimension that was deleted.

Hi, everyone.
Firstly I created a web analysis document.
Then i deleted one dimension from the cube outline.
And when I run the report I ve got an error like this:
[1033] Native: 502 Invalid object file specified
App\TEST\Cube\TST_C\Category
Please advise, how can I delete the dimension from the report.

If the report opens then you can navigate to data source (dimension browser) and remove the dimension.How can I do this? This dimension is not in rows, nor columns, nor pages - it is in filter.

Actually, I have hundred of reports which rely on one cube, from which one dimension was deleted.
So, I really need an approach to make reports automatically reflect changes in outline (I mean deleting of one dimension).

Queries on Web Analysis

HI,
I have couple of queries on Web Analysis which are as follows:
1) Does the "Subset of UDA" option works for Multi-level combo box (Its not working in my report for time dimension)?
2) Is it possible to use "Keep Only" option on multiple columns at the same time (I know it works thro' 'Browse' option)?
3) Can we put a calculation in a column which gives percentage between the column total and row total?
4) Can we link two dimensions alone in two different spreadsheets on a report? (Scenario: I've two dimensions in the row & accounts (measures) dimension in the column. Two spreadsheets with same two dimensions in the rows but different accounts (measures) in the columns. User wants to drill-down the rows only on one spreadsheet and expects that this change should be reflected in the second spreadheet as well)
