Web Analysis error in Workspace

I am opening a WA screen within Workspace that has a drop down. Each user has a metaread and read filter within essbase based on entities. When the user opens the document within workspace they receive an error message, but then can choose their entity to view that data. Has anyone encountered this and can this be corrected. I would expect no error message, just "No Data Available" since the screen opens with a high level entity they wouldn't have access to.
Thanks!

Have you tried checking the "Design for HTML" from the Edit toolbar to see if you get any error when saving?
Do you have any advanced items on the report, as there are 4 types of differences between Studio and HTML:
- font differences, Workspace (DHTML) uses the WA Server fonts whereas WA Studio client machine fonts.
- Service Buttons are very restricted using Workspace
- Display: Tab selection, Splitter panels, Slider selection do not render in Workspace
- Cannot restrict WA Tools menu in Workspace at all, where you can in the Studio.

  • Can we schedule web analysis report on workspace

I am working on Hyperion 9.2. i want to know that is it possible to schedule the Web Analysis reports on workspace?

There was a way to launch an Analyzer report to html using the command line. This could then be scheduled but they've removed the functionality in System 9. The really annoying thing is that they've actually left a lot of the code lying around that enabled you to launch using the command line.
As Sean says it's now not possible unfortunately.

  • Error connecting to web analysis report from workspace

    Hi,
There are a number of web analysis reports. There is a link to one in a planning task list. However, when the report is opened an error appears saying
Required application context analyzer is not available. Please contact your administrator
The report opens is web analysis. I tried other reports from within workspace by browsing to them from within the folder structure and got the error for all of them.
    Has anyone seen this before?
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    A) restart your services in correct order
    B) be sure that the analyzer.properties (baseurl) is correct and can be reached from the workspace server.
    C) wrong SSL config and certificates produce sometimes suprisingly strange error messages.

  • Strange issue in opening Web Analysis document in workspace.

    Dear All,
We are working on Hyperion system 9.3.1 and reports are developed using Web Analysis.
We have completed report development and going to distribute to users. But we are getting very strange error message.
    We followed the following sequences-
    1) Developed the reports with admin rights on Web Analysis reports and Essbase cube.
    2) Create a user(say trainee) in Shared servicesand assigned the following roles Analyzer, Dynamic view, content publisher, explore rights and at essbase level- give the database access to user.
    3) create a separate folder in Web Analysis studio and copy the WA reports there(say- reports).
    4) At workspace level, We gave the access on folder and on report.
    5) Now when we logged as user trainee, we are able to see the reports but reports are not opened and get the following messages-
[1033] Native:502 Invalid Object path specified,
    App\Avg_Pln\Cube\Pln1\Dim\Period
    Does we miss any point?
Kindly help us on this as this is going to very critical to us.
    Thanks
    - Mohit Jain

Not sure if this applies but there is a bug (fixed by patch 41) in v931 in which user session cookie info is not deleted - this could be causing the error if you are using the same browser - you will need to exit completely and clear cookies and cache. Then login as a new user.

  • Unable to open web analysis reports through workspace

    Hi,
I am connecting web analysis with MSSQL server 2000 and generating reports. I am using essbase 9.3.1 version.
But my problem now is that I can just open these reports from web analysis studio and cannot open them from workspace. In workspace, if I right click on the report and open it from web analysis studio it does open. But it does not open by double clicking the report in workspace. It just shows a blank report on just parts of the report.
The issue is only there for the reports that are getting data from relational db (MSSQL server 2000). The other reports that are using the cube data are fine and opening from everywhere.
Are there any other configuration settings involved in order to open a web analysis report(that uses relational db) from workspace?
    Thanks in advance,
    John

    Hi Atul,
Try using the in built config checker:
    http://localhost:16000/WebAnalysis/config
This has several tests you can perform to see what's running.

  • How to publish Web Analysis report to workspace?

I have made few reports in Web Analysis and now i want to publish them to users in workspace. Can somebody guide me how can i do that?
    Edited by: ar_aff on Jan 25, 2011 2:39 AM

    Hi,
You need not publish in workspace. Once you create the WA reports, you can automatically go and see the reports in workspace in the particular folder in which you have created the report. You can also run the reports in workspace.
    Thank.

  • Web Analysis: error while trying export to Excel!

    Hi,
if I try to export an report in WA to Excel, the following error occured:
"HTMLViewer on <SERVER> can't be downloaded ..." (error message is originally in german).
Has anyone an idea how to solve this problem?
    Thanks in advance!
    Stefan

    Hi Stefan,
If you are just using SSL and IE 7 there are two possible solutions/workarounds to your problem.
    1. install WA SF 11.1.1.3.25 Patch 9672346: Oracle Hyperion Reporting and Analysis 11.1.1.3.25 Service Fix for Web Analysis (if you have 11.1.1.3 version )
    or
    2. Use provided workaround
    1. Disable IE Advanced Property "Do not save encrypted pages to disk".
    2. Read article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323308 and complete the following steps:
    a. Start Registry Editor.
    b. For a per-user setting, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
For a per-computer setting, locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings
    c. To override the directive for HTTPS connections, add the following registry value: "BypassSSLNoCacheCheck"=Dword:00000001
    d. Quit Registry Editor.
NOTE: it might be possible that another key needs to be added:
"SSLPragmaNoCache"=Dword:00000001 It depends on IE version and is explained in the article.

  • Viewing web analysis reports from workspace

    Hi,
How do I publish web analysis report so it can be viewed from the user workspace?
Currently I can see only financial reports.
    Thanks,
    G

You should be able to see any of your Web Analysis studio created reports in the Workspace (in all of the System 9 versions). Can you as the report designer / admin not see them? Or just the end users? You will need to assign access for end users to be able to see any views.
    Thanks, Tracy

  • Too much errors/messages in Web Analysis reports stops workspace

Too often workspace stops to work for the client with the following (example) messages. It seems that too much informational and error messages from reports (like a non working report link or missing member) gives the workspace client so much trouble that login off or closing the browser is the only solution. This seems not the right workaround. Anyone experiencing the same?
    Internet Explorer popup:
    Line: 2608
    char: 4
Error: 'undefined'is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: https://[workspaceserver]/workspace/index.jsp
    {next}
    Internet Explorer popup:
    Line: 2688
    char: 3
Error: 'undefined'is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: https://[workspaceserver]/workspace/index.jsp
    In a Hyperion(r)Workspace-error popupscreen:
An error was encountered while closing all content
    Can only remove children
    Internet Explorer popup:
    Line: 1385
    Char: 4
error: 'this.leftComp.getDataModel()'is null or not an object
    Code: 0
    URL: https://[workspaceserver]/workspace/index.jsp

it seems that all errors are related to the migrated anaqlyzer report. In the new 931 version less characters are allowed to use than the old 71 version.
In the main name of the reportgroup the migration just rplaces the wrong characters. But links and url insite reportgroups and reports are not changed during migration. Activating (clicking on it) such links is the main cause of the freeze.

Try changing the idle connection timeout on your Web Intelligence Processing Server to 60 minutes (from the CMC).
If this doesn't work, please add a trace to the Web Intelligence Processing Server (add a -trace to the command line parameters of the server). and post the log for the relevant time period.
