Web Analysis - Scroll bar goes up by itself

Dear all,
We have some reports build on top of Hyperion Web Analysis.
The report has several graphics/tables and a scroll bar in the IE window is necessary to see all graphics/tables.
When we scroll down the bar and select (click) a graphic/table the scroll bar goes up (to the report home) by itself. That happens every time that we do the action described.
Does anybody have ever seen that?

While manually resizing my window (making it smaller) for a WA document (9.3.1)opened in HTML mode I can see that there are scroll bars present in the bottom and right hand side. But when I finish resizing, the scroll bars disappear! Is there a way to retain the scroll bars?

Web Gallery Scroll Bar Slider Problem

Hi,
I'm running Windows XP Professional and Lightroom 1.3.1. I seem to have a problem with the functionality of the sliders in the scroll bars of the web galleries that I make. I use the Flash templates.
I can drag the slider to move through the thumbnails. But when I click in the open area of the scroll bar to scroll forward or backward a page at a time, nothing happens. That functionality seems to be missing. My cursor will change to a pointed finger when it moves across the slider bar, and the up and down arrows at the ends of the scroll bar. It will not change when I place it in the open area of the scroll bar, indicating that the functionality does not exist.
This seems very odd and contrary to the global behavior of slider bars in all other applications, including within Lightroom.
Any idea what's going on and any solutions?

Please check in your application parameters. Did you declare wdtablenavigation parameter?
and check table properties like scrollbarvisible always or none...

Scroll bar goes crazy and active window jumps around in size - Help

I've got iTunes 7.0.5 installed. If I use iTunes for any length of time, my system goes crazy. The scroll bar on whatever program I make active goes up and down like mad, while the content of the active window shrinks and magnifies in size multiple times a second. It's very bizarre and consistently happens only when I run iTunes for some length of time. I have no problem if I choose Windows Media Player. It's very disturbing, as I can no longer use iTunes. Any help in knowing how to fix the problem, or even to trouble shoot it further, would be greatly appreciated.

Here are a couple of thoughts on the Timeline scrolling and other possible display issues:
1.) make sure that you have the very latest video driver - the very latest
2,) if you have Vista, turn Aero and Sidebar off
3.) if you have Window Blinds, get the very latest version
4.) if you have an InteliPoint mouse driver, try removing it, and using the standard Windows mouse driver instead*
5.) if you have a laptop and both the touch-pad and a mouse are installed and ON, turn the touch-pad OFF
These are some suggestions that might affect your display issues.

* The MS InteliPoint has caused many display issues with Adobe products. Most often, these have manifested themselves in flashing GUI's and similar, but other odd behaviors have been experienced. If the removal of InteliPoint does help, try the very latest version, but be ready to revert to the standard Windows mouse driver.

I am not able to scroll either the scroll bar goes missing, even if present I am finding it hard to scroll can you help me?

sometimes when I opened Mozilla the scroll bar diappears there I couldnt scroll and I had to use the arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll. even if the scrol bar was present. When I tried to drag down mozilla just used automatically minimise and maximise. Its getting very annoying. I tried uninsatalling and reinstalling. It did not solve the issue.

Your above posted system details show multiple Java Console extensions.<br />
You can uninstall and remove Java Console extensions, you do not need them to run Java applets.

Troubleshooting: Scroll bar goes to the right in LR2.3

Not sure why this happens, but every so often - maybe once every couple days, I will be working in either the Library or Develop module and for no apparent reason, the scrollbar for the bottom filmstrip just starts moving on its own accord to the right until it gets to the end of the filmstrip. It keeps going to the right unless I close the program and start it back up again and then everything is fine again.
Wondering why this occurs.

Removing Scroll Bars in WEBI Report

Hi All,
I want to remove scroll bars from my WEBI reports. I have observed that even if you have only one column in the WEBI report, scroll bar still appears. Is this anything to do with page layout properties of WEBI where you can set minimum limit for horizontal records per page as 20? Can anybody please help me with this?

We also wanted to have the same thing,we tried to reduce the size of the report and tried to change the page size.
We did everything to remove that scroll bar and did not achieve it, hence we loged a case with SAP BO and they said " this is how the tool is".
But they took it as the enhancement request dont know what is the status on that.

Focus vertical scroll bar in report div

Hi everyone,
I just want to know if the issue has been resolved by someone :
I have a report within a div and a vertical scrolling bar to scroll the rows. When I click on a row of the report the row is highlighted. Now, if the clicked row is at the end of the report, the scrolling bar goes up, and the user has to scroll down to see the selected row. So how to focus this scrolling bar once the user clicks on the row ?
I guess I have to compute the id of the selected row times the row height and send this value to the css parameter of the scroll bar (but AFAIK there's no such parameter in css for positioning a scroll bar) ... Someone has came up with a solution ?

I didnt' know about the scrollTop attribute. So for those how are interested : Each time I click on a row, I store the scrollTop position in a Hidden field. On each body onload, I call a javascript function to position the scroll bar of the div like this :
getElementById.("mydiv").scollTop = html_GetElement('P1_SCROLL_ID').value;

RoboHelp 8: Vertical scroll bar problem

I just installed RoboHelp 8. When I view a topic page that is longer than the window, sometimes the vertical scroll bars appear and sometimes they don't. If I click the <> HTML tab and then click the Design tab again, the scroll bar appears. The scroll bar also appears if I click the "Save" or "Save All" button. I also don't see a Service Pack for RoboHelp 8. Is that true?
I'm attaching 2 screen shots (both of the same topic) - one when I first go in to a topic and the scroll bar does not appears and one when I go to the HTML tab or Save and then scroll bar appears.

No, there is no service release for version 8 as yet.
Could it be simply that focus is inside another pod when you fail to see the scroll bar? Perhaps you have clicked to select the Single Source Layouts pod and you see the scroll bar goes away?

Text doesn't show, scroll bar does? using Flash CS3 Please help!

A little background: I made text box, typed some text, converted it to a movie clip, named etc. Used a purchased and proven scroller component ... followed directions to the letter, including referencing/linking the files. However, when I tried to test the scroll bar .... the scroll bar appears, scrolls and works perfectly except the text does not appear. I have tried making a scroll bar with the UIscrollbar same thing happens. I made an other attempt and put pics along with the text in the movie clip ... this time the pics appeared and scrolled, but the text still would not appear. PLEASE HELP. I am on a deadline and can't get past this scroll bar issue. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the tip. I did embed the text, but still not showing. Currently, I have the text box set to the following: Dynamic Text, Multiline, Border Around text, Anti-Alias for Animation (but I have tried all choices and embed the text each time).
Here are the original instructions with the FTscrollbar which I followed exactly.
1. Drag the component (FTscrollbar) from the components panel to the stage.
2. Create a new movie clip to be scrolled:
     a. create a textfield on the scene and type in a few lines of text
     b. select the text fields and covert them to a move clip symbol having the registration point top left. (I did top right since my scroll bar is on the right).
     c. give the new movie clip an name in properties panel.
3.Select the component of the stage and configure its parameters in the parameters panel or component inspector panel.
     a. Instruc the component to scroll the new created movie clip as the targetMovieClip
     b. Set the viewAreaHeight and viewAreaWidth
     c. set snapMode to snapToView value
     d. leave rest of parameters unchanged unless you want to adjust.
4. Test Movie (contol/test movie)
On the FTscrollbar, I have the targetMovieClip set to the movieclips name the only other parameters the instructions said to change were veiwAreaHeight=100 veiwAreaWidth=150 which were the defaults. When I change this numbers the scroll bar goes away and the text still doesn't appear? The scroll bar is 16 x 140, the text box to be scrolled is 130 x 143 and the entire flash page is 500 x 550. I am not sure what the viewAreaHeight and viewAreaWidth are for ... or if that could be the problem? I have never had problems with scrollers but I used MX. I just recently purchased the CS3 and I am not sure what I am not selecting or not selecting but if feel it's probably something simple I am overlooking. So any more ideas are MOST APPRECIATED. If you need more info from me to help solve, please feel free to ask. THANKS!

Hi all, really hoping you could help.
A real new guy here so please forgive me if all my questions are old ground.
I create graphics for the film industry.
Captivate is nearly the answer to my prayers in that i can create interfaces and the like for actors to actually use.
HOWEVER, sometimes i will simulate that actor looking at a website and need the page to scroll up and down.
Now i am still quite new to captivate, but after searching online i cannot seem to find how to implement scroll bars or even workarounds.
I tried to have a static image (png) then on button click it would go to a movie clip of the scroll bar going down then hold on the next static image .
(now even the image quality issues aside, encoding of the MP4 does not give the same quality as png)
I cannot get it to play the movie without a white flash before playing and it then goes back to the beginning of the movie clip instead of holding (button is on the page to go to next image.)
I have been tearing my hair out so any help in this regard is really appreciated.
As i know these might be newbie questions if anyone has tutorials i should look at for workarounds or even how to get movies to play and hold i will appreciate it.
And finally, IS one solution for the movie quality issue is for me to render out a PNG sequence (my workflow is Photoshop then After Effects then Captivate.)
Can i use an image sequence for a movie in captivate?

Yeah I totally agree. It is sometimes way overdone and unrealistic. Some
of the reasons is the directors want stuff to be sexy even at the sake of
realisim and other reasons are copyright issues.
I am unfortunately goverend by scripts and a 2 line sentence will say
something like... He hacks the computer.
So to have him sit at a computer actually hacking using windows just looks
boring. .. even if more realistic.they want frantic activity and visually
exciting hacking....
Sometimes other briefs allow me to simulate a sort of realism. .. but for
the computer illiterate viewer I need to help tell the story graphically...
If I had a trace running via ip's ... alot of people wouldn't understand
what the guy is doing... but if I have a line emanating from his location
bouncing off various points around the globe..well it looks better and more
people will undertand what's happening.
Copyright. Generally. .. unless we are sponsored in some way... We can't
just use windows. Mac. Mozilla. Google earth etc without copyright
issues. I don't know how it works.. The clearance guys do that.
Even desktop icons are emulated.
I try to emulate stuff so viewers recognise a similar os for instance...
but everything has to go through clearance.
For example.. If I want to use Google earth maps to do a satellite pov I
have to by law have the Google maps logo on the screen. .. not good when
you are simulating a spy agency or so.

How do I add a form which has a scroll bar in PDF?

I would like a form to be added into PDF, however, the form is too long to be put in one page. There are also other stuff in the right hand side, so I wish the form has a scroll bar for the user to drag and browse, just like a web page scroll bar. Is it possible that Acrobat 3D8 support such function?

At times when dragging the vertical scroll bar my computer screen oscillates up and down for some time before going blank or not responding to any clicks requiring a forced system restart. What is wrong?

Suddenly while working with Firefox if I happen to drag the vertical scroll bar, a very abnormal behavior occurs. My screen dances up and down for a short time before either going black or getting restored but with no clicks working. The only way to resume is to force a restart of the system.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

That didn't work. On trying to install a new driver I got the error the graphics driver could not find compatible graphics hardware. Is there anything else that can be done to at least prevent the hanging of the computer even if it means less features from Firefox being available?

Web Form - takes extra time to render scroll-bar

When we open a webform that is relatively small in scale it takes ~ 4-6 seconds to come back from the 'hourglass' but then leaves the user waiting for upto a minute before the scrollbar appears at the side of the rendered web form (which appears after the initial period) and you can actually take any action.
Smartview does not have this same delay on the same form, and when I monitor server / client activity on both sides it seems to be minimal impact on cpu / memory.
We are on IE7, though some clients are IE8.
Has anyone else seen this - is it a known issue - are there any fixes?

I think both Planning and Essbase are done sending the required data/metadata to client and from that point on it's up to the client to generate the form. Like you are suggesting, although you see the form with cells and numbers, it takes time to generate the scroll bars (i.e. complete the form generation). My hunch is that this could be related to a security setting or an antivirus setting that could be slowing down the java script. Essentially, it's a hefty java script that generates the form and in some cases (such as with McAfee) there are certain settings to enable scanning java scripts on web pages before running them. You can make sure by tracking the process in task manager on the client when opening the form. If this is the case, disabling this option might improve the performance.
