Web App Designer Export to Excel - Issue

Hi Gurus,
I was able to sucessfully configure export to excel feature in WAD. However the issue we are encountering is, we have a button which runs a script function, this manupulates data in some columns of the report. So when I perform export to excel after the script function is excuted, the export gets the old state of data and not the data after the script function is run. Is there are way to fix this issue. Please advise.
Thanks Again!

Dear Customer,
WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) is not supported on Export to Excel.
If you are using some script AFTER data comes to screen, you will NOT see the effects on Excel.
This is documented in the note:
1178857 - Additional information: Export to Excel functions
" Layout
o  Currently WYSIWYG export is not supported.
Sorry to not provide a better solution.
Best regards,
Edward John

  • Last Data Update in Visual Composer and Web App Designer

    Hello,
We want to show the last data update in query result and we used 2
differents ways to do it: throught Web Application Designer (SP 12) and
    Visual Composer (SP 10).
In query result of Web Application Designer, the last data update came
in GMT0 and in visual composer came ok (GMT - 3, that's our time zone).
This value (ROLLUPTIME) is taken out of the RSMDATASTATE table and this is used in SAPLRSMDATASTATE program, that is called by Web App Designer.
Why does the difference exist between: Web App Designer and Visual Composer for last data update?
So, I need more information how the Visual Composer brings the correct value (in our time zone) and Web App Designer in GMT0.
    Best Regards,
    Pablo Moraes

    Hi Mario,
Yes, i used the same user and the same query to access the information. But, how can i check the mapping from my VC user to the BI user?

  • Performance of Web Templates Apps that are created in Web App Designer

I have created a Dashboard using Web App Designer in BI7 SPS 10.
The Web Template has 12 queries/DataProviders that are used for 12 charts.  Buttons at the top control the view to show 4 Charts Each.   When these buttons are selected, command sequences are executed that Hide and Show containers (each chart has its own container).
Also, there are 8 Dropdowns which are used to filter all 12 charts.  These Dropdowns are using Posted Values because the requirement is to only show the values that actually exist in the InfoProvider.
When this template is run in Development where the data is minimal, it is taking 17 seconds to load the page.  When running each query individually, it is taking each query between less than 1 second or at most 1.5 seconds.  Also, the queries have been broadcasted to the OLAP Cache.
Other approaches that I have tried but have not changed the performance:
    1.  Created this template with Tabs and each template calls a template which contains 4 of the Charts (I believe this is called the “Template in Template” Approach.
    2.  Created 3 templates  that each contain 4 of the Charts.   The Command Sequence “Change Template" is used to switch to another Template (e.g. from “Monthly Trends” to “Top 10” and retain/pass the filters that are already selected in the Dropdowns.  However all of the dataproviders are needed in each template in order to pass the filter values.  Therefore, all 12 queries are executing  when you load the main page.
I am looking for suggestions on what I could do differently to speed up the performance to get the Dashboard to respond within 10 seconds.
    Thank You.

    Dear Kristen,
well, one of the things that I do remember, a solution that we provided for a similar scenario, but, not exactly the same. Another difference is that it was in BW 3.5.
We had few reports that was responding slow. There were reports that was viewed by both sr. managers as well by his team. Sr. Mgr looked only at the high level data while the team looked at the item level data in the same report. So, we provided two links in the same report. Initially it will come up with a static data. To get a detailed data, the user has to click the next link to view item level data.
Now, how this works is through Reporting Agent. The first static data was provided as a cache(pre-calculated) hence, faster. It comes in just 2 secs. But, when the user needs a item level data, he clicks the lik provided, only in which case, it fetches data from the infoprovider(hybrid mode).
We will need to schedule periodically, accordingly, to refresh the cache to provide faster data.
Iam really not sure how far this will help you, but, can spark something( I hope!).
    Thanks

  • Web Template - Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working

    Hi Experts,
In a Web Report & Web Template Variable & Export to Excel Web Items are not working ; Any body have any idead ?
Do i need to write any HTML code to funtion those web items.
    Thanks
    KAruna

    Dear Karuna,
Review your default template. Probably is 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN.
Reactive the version D and check again.
Also, you are able to modify the webitems on Export to Excel on 'BUTTON_TOOLBAR_2' -> Button list number  4.
And, you are able to check the 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT, in case of configuration.
If you want to remove/add new items, I suggest you to save as another name. SAP does not allow to modify delivered objects
    ex:. 0Objects.

  • Filtering dates in Web App Designer

    Hiya
I've been trying to find a way to filter my queries so that my sales information is up to a certain date.
I don't want to use a prompt to specify the range since my users do not like prompts. Instead, they want to be able to use a dropdown or radio button within the report to select the month/year. Based on that selection, they want all sales data to be returned up to that selected month/year. I've noticed that the radio button/dropdown list in Web App Designer filters sales data of that particular month/year instead of up to that month/year. Do you guys know if there is any other way of doing this?
I.e.  Users selects October 2005 in the dropdown and the report is filtered to only display data up to october 2005.

This can be done using custom Javascript. You will have to use the BW Web item dropdown box assign cal month and select the option display only values which will render all the possible values with the option tag. Use a Javascript function to read the value the user selects and form the URL with the high and low value you want as filter. The attached How to document has similar kind of scenario.

  • Webi Report exported to excel issues

    Hello all.
I have a webi report which when  I export to excel gets intended to the right. That is at the top it looks right but as I scroll down it keeps moving to the right and at the end of the page all the data is completely moved to the right and is not visible.
What could be the issue? How do I solve this?
    Thanks,
    Nisha

    Thank you for your response.
    BO Version : 3.1
    Excel: 2010
yes the columns get shifted to the right as seen in the screenshot. So as I keep scrolling down the report shifts to the right and disappears as we keep scrolling.

  • Web report Export to Excel Issue

    Hi,
I've tried to look at one of the issues already logged about the Export to Excel functionality and I was not able to find a solution to my problem.
In my organization we are using BW 3.5. And when I run a web report, and try to export to excel a 15000 line report, I'm always getting only the first 400 or 500 rows. If I go to the last line and try to do the same, I will then get the full report exported to excel.
Any idea why this is happening?
    Thanks,
    JS

Try to run the report using the 0ANALYZER template and see whether you can replicate the issue.  If the behavior is same with 0ANALYZER then it will be a issue with SAP code.

  • Export to excel issue

    Hi All,
Kindly help me in solving this issue.
Portals report layouts can be customized. When the user chooses to export
the customized reports to Excel, only the standard layout (hard coded
layout for each report) is exported to Excel and all the customized columns
    are not exported.
C&RM is planning to use the portals aging report for performance metrics,
collection and identifying the over 90 items for collection rep. The
standard layout for the portals aging report is missing the BP# and
    Collection rep name.
Choosing right click, select all and copying to Excel, the format of the
    report is lost.
Herewith I am attaching the code which needs modification.

Hi, I finally found the issue which was causing the numbers stored in text format issue. While exporting data to Excel programatically if any of the cells precede with a special character like -. = etc.. the data which is exported after that starts behaving in a peculiar way. So removal of any such special characters resolves the issue.
    Hope this helps..

  • Web App CSV Export Puts Everything into 1 Column in Numbers 3.0

    Hi
Anyone have this issue before where the new Numbers by Apple, takes the web app export CSV and throws all data into one column? It displays the Template downloads just fine. Just not the Exports for Web App Items.
    Any tricks?
    Teejay

Oh and the reason likely that has happened because if you do some HTML structures in the content it breaks the import/export process a bit.

  • BOBI 4.x Webi - Graphs when exported to Excel, turns as picture.

    Hello,
In SAP BO XI 3.x version, a Webi document having graphs, when exported to Excel sheet, the graphs are exported as they are and were able to modify them. However, in SAP BO BI 4.x version, the graphs are exported as picture and are not able modify them.
I tried with multiple 4.x versions even with 4.1 SP4, but its still the same.
Is this by design that the Chart\Graph engine saves them as picture in 4.x or there are some settings that need to be done?
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Abhay

    Hello Abhay,
As you suspected, the functionality to add webi chart as excel chart while exporting has been changed in BO 4.x version. Please see below idea page where developers like us asking to restore the same functionality. The idea is under review now. Cast a vote for the idea.

  • Output from Web, Printing OR Export to Excel

    Hi.
A minimum requirement for GoLive of our Web project is that there should be some way of outputting the result of the query, and for the time being we can live with it being EITHER printing OR Export to Excel. (Output to Excel means output to 'proper' Excel, not a web appearance of Excel)
Output that doesn't include the selected input parameters (and the report title) is not fit for purpose, and it appears that in order to overcome this hurdle on either means of output I have to resort to Prakash's blog on using the XPATH programming language.
Or maybe note 1069368 on PDF export, but using 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN_EXPORT also appears to not work.
Or we use the Information field (text elements, I believe) in a Container Web Item. But adding text elements one by one is not a workable solution either.
Or The 3rd-Party route. But we really don't want to go there.
SO.... standing back a little. SURELY, I think, someone out there has been here before, its not rocket science that I'm trying to do!
So what is my question? Well, I want to know how other people have addressed this issue, please...
    3rd Party solution?
    Programming?
Is there another OSS note that tells you really what to do?
    Or...
I have spent several days investigating this, by the way, so although I MAY have missed the obvious, I don't believe I have.
As a reward, as well as giving points, I have several documents that I have created, I am willing to share. How 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN is built, maybe, with screenshots? Or a WORKABLE version 7 workbook template for multiple queries?
    Thanks,
    Patrick

Have you tried the print button in the web analyzer it does export the input filter parameters as part of the exported PDF document.
You can include any additional text elements and use a custom export template if required.

  • ADF 11g: Desktop Integrator- Export to Excel issue

    Hi,
    We are using ADF 11g.
In our application we have one feature where end users can download data in excel format from our web application.
To export data to excel file, users need to click Export to Excel button. But after deployment of code to standalone WLS 11g we are facing following issue with this functionality:
To export data to excel file we have to keep pressing control key through out the operation
If we don't do so it does not downloads the file.
We want the file should be downloaded as soon as user clicks Export to Excel button. (We don't want users to keep pressing control key through this process)
Please help on this how to achieve this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Manav Ratra

    Hi Shay,
I implemented this functionality following Franks blog on export data to excel.
Ya in your application we are able to export to excel without holding control Key.
The same is happening in our case if we run application using integrated WLS 11g on JDev 11.1.1.3
but after hosting the application on standalone WLS 11g. We need to hold control key. :|
Are there any properties which we need to set to avoid this.
    here is code :
    *<af:commandButton text="Export to Excel"*
    *binding="#{backing_Rates.btn_Export}"*
    *id="btn_Export" inlineStyle="width:150.0px;"*
*shortDesc="Click to Save table in excel sheet">*
    *<af:exportCollectionActionListener exportedId="pctbl:t1"*
    *type="excelHTML"*
    *filename="#{backing_Rates.seName}_Rates.xls"*
    *title="Rates for - #{backing_Rates.seName} are:"/>*
    *</af:commandButton>*
    Please help.
    Thanks & Regards

  • Export to Excel issue after upgrading to IE11

    Hi All,
Our organization recently upgraded our Internet Explorer browser from 8 to 11 on Win7, still in pilot phase.
One of the issues that we are currently experiencing is that after the upgrade  the Export to Microsoft Excel is no longer functioning as expected. This was working fine on IE8.
What happens now on IE11 is that when you select a table on a web-page and do an Export to Excel, a new window pops up and the address bar stays blank with just http:/// and "Page cannot be displayed" error. What's seems to be happening is that for
some reason, it is not populating the address bar with the URL.
Anyone experienced similar issues and got a fix? Much appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ochen

    Hi Ochen,
Since this is an Internet Explorer related issue, I suggest you refer to the dedicated IE forum below to get more professional support:

  • Export to Excel Issues

We just upgraded from Crystal 8.5 to Crystal 10.  When we export to Excel, the formatting is terrible.  We have close to 100 reports that we routinely export...some with 40,000 rows.  To try to fix these once they're in Excel is out of the question.
In previous threads I've been reading about a "patch" that supposedly fixes this.  Where can I download this?
    Eric Hill

The way reports work and export changed significantly in CR 9. While there was a dll available to help move from CR 8.x to CR 9, that dll is no longer available. Not for CR 9, nor any other versions of CR. Instead, you will have to modify your reports as per the article [Crystal Reports Designer Version 10 Exporting to Microsoft Excel|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/boc/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10d3ba69-951e-2b10-3093-e3cf287a57c9?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true].
No other work-arounds or options exist at this time.

  • Web Application Designer - export to XLS/PDF layout

    Hello experts,
I have a situation when Web Report has 6 different data providers. Each of these data providers is assigned to analysis item. So there are 6 analysis items (let's call them AI1, AI2, AI3, AI4, AI5 and AI6). When I do the export to excel or PDF, the layout of the document looks like this:
    AI1
    AI2
    AI3
    AI4
    AI5
    AI6.
However, I need the layout to look like this:
    AI1 AI2
    AI3 AI4
    AI5 AI6.
Is there a way to do that in WAD?
    Thank you in advance!

Here's the excerpt of HTML code if that's what you mean. In WAD my layout looks like this:
    1 2
    3 4
    5 6.
And I want it to look like this when it's exported to excel or PDF. However, when I do the export, the layout changes to:
    1
    2
    3
    4
    5
    6
