Web Application Designer - Analysis Item

Hi Experts,
We are using Analysis Iten property (Column From And Colum To) to display one few key figures from Query. This is because we are using same query for differnt Analysis items with differnt key figures. Now issue is we are having few key figure nodes collapsed in Quey designer. Analysis item is not considering the sub key figures of collapsed note. So whenever we expand a node a run time, the key figures at the end are not getting displayed. Please provide any solution for this issue.
Thanks in Advance,
Reshma M

It is because the column numbering changes when you expand a collapsed keyfigure.
Create a query view with the keyfigure(s) that you need for the analysis web item. Then use this query view for the analysis web item and remove the settings on Column From/To properties.

    Hi Tim,
You can still do this, but you will need to add it to the HTML code.

  • Web Application Designer broadcast select Web Items

    Hello all,
I have a request to use the broadcast only select web items, Chart/Analysis items only in a Web Application Designer Template. Is this possible? I've tried the option "Data Binding"  Report [ITEM_REF] but that didn't work and brought everything in my Web Template in my PDF broadcast to Email. It seems to ignore the Data Binding and bring everything in the template, pictures, Charts, Analysis items. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to select only select web items to broadcast via PDF?
    Thank you in advance!

  • How to create own Web Items for Web Application Designer

    Hi all,
is it possible to create own Web Items for the Bex Web Application Designer? Each Web Item has a Master Web Item and a class that is responsible for rendering data. I need a solution to get the Web Item's data - i.e. the content of a table (if Web Item = table). So my approach would be to create an own (Standard) Web Item with an own class. For example I would like to change the table's Web Item parameter <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_GRID"/> to an own class...
    Is this possible?
Or ist there any possibility to get the Web Item's data by an interface?
Any support is welcome...thanks in advance!
    Best regards,

  • WEB application designer - Web items - How to create new

    Hi!
Is there a way to create new web item in web application designer, and <b>NOT</b> a copy of existing with different parameters (Web items located under Standard tab).
It would expand possibilities of web app. designer a lot!
Another question is, how to use BSP elements in BEX WEB reports (templates). Is this possible or not?
    Thank you in advance!
    Egi

    Hi,
in principal you can write new web items but this is not supported by SAP as this is a modification.
You would inherit from a standard web item class (for example CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_VIEW) and maintain tables rsrrenderer rsrrendereratr rsrrenderert and optionally rsrrendererdep
BSP itself can not be used, unless you include a BSP Application via Iframes in your Web template.

  • Prevent values being passed using Link Item on Web Application Designer

    Hello all,
I have a question regarding 7.0 Web Application Designer. I am using the web item Link Item and using the command OPEN_TEMPLATE_DIALOG to open a new WAD Template BUT I do not want to pass the values from the original WAD template to the new one. Is there a way to restrict passing any values to the new template? Am I using the correct command OPEN_TEMPLATE_DIALOG?
To better describe what is happening, my characteristics and key figures are being passed from my original WAD template to my new WAD template when using the OPEN_TEMPLATE_DIALOG. I do not the values to be passed, only to open up the new WAD Template with its own reports.
    Thank you.

Sorry maybe I mistated the problem. I do not have an issue with the variable screen when transitioning to the second WAD template screen, I have a problem due to the values from the first WAD template being passed to the second WAD template.
My first WAD template using the Link Item is only for the ability to click on the text to open up a second WAD template which I do not want the values to be passed from the First template.
I hope this clears up the confusion.
    Thanks

  • Web Application Designer need help ASAP

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to customize the analysis item in a web application designer.
I have created new templetes and added a analysis with a query view as data provider .
in the output I require to hide some rows of the query view and also change the color of the text i.e the numbers.
How to modify the output of the analysis item which is coming from a query view or is there any way where I can modify the output of the web templete.
    Thanking You,
    Rukmini

    Dear Devi,
If you do not want to use the default display and behavior of the Analysis Web item, you can use the Modification parameter to change them. You can modify the table structure and the table cells.
The Modification parameter provides modules whose use can be controlled using additional parameters.
This function enables you to use similar options to those available in earlier releases with the Web Design API for Tables. Unlike the Web Design API for Tables, modifications enable you to make targeted changes to the display and behavior without any programming.
    Prerequisites
The modules are the main prerequisites for making modifications to the Analysis Web item. The modules are implemented in Java. The SAP Basis infrastructure in SAP NetWeaver 7.0 does not support any customer modifications or extensions to Java coding. Customers are therefore not able to develop their own modules for modifications to the Analysis Web item.
SAP delivers a number of sample modules. You can use parameters to modify the display and behavior of these modules.
    Procedure
You use the modules as follows:
           1.      Select a module from the sample modules.
           2.      Specify the module in the Modification parameter of the Analysis Web item.
           3.      Control the display and behavior of the module by specifying the module-specific parameters.
    Result
The table of the Analysis Web item is displayed in an individual manner using the modules. The behavior of the table may also be different. For example, you can define commands for table cells.
    Example
For example, you can define a fixed column width or display comments in cells.

  • Print PDF file with the lay out created in the BEx web application designer

Got the following questions (problems) when print a web report created in BEx Web Application Designer to a PDF file:
    1. The tile (which has a company logo and report name in it) was not printed, is it possible to print a title (with company logo) on each page of the PDF file?
    2. Want print the filters that have value specified on the PDF file, is it possible to do this?
    Any help is appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Simon,
you can achieve this requirement i.e. using this way of implementation:
    1. Create a new template which contains the required fields (company logo etc) and set the visibility of the top container to "hidden". Add a empty data provider to this template and add the filter values (variable names) you want to display on the PDF. However be aware that the name for the (empty) data provider must match the name of the data provider within the original template you want to print.
    2. Open your original template and include the template you created in step 1 (Advanced: Web Templates). Choose the appropriate location (above/below the analysis item.
    3. Check the settings of your export command: do not set a special web item to be printed.
If you export the template within web the second template should be printed correctly.
    Brgds,
    Marcel

  • Web application designer UI change

    Hi all,
In a web application designer i have added an analysis item with query as data provider.
In the output I have a requirement to change the color of individual data cell in a analysis item.
I want to personalize the individual row or a data cell instead of changing whole data cells.
Is there any way to change the color of individual row or some rows or some particular values in the analysis item to different color or bold selecting based on the values of the output like personalization.
    Thanking You,
    Devi

    Hi,
    We are using 7.0
Personalize means the options we get when we right click on an data cell in the browser after executing
    the templete.
I want to personalize a single data cell instead of all the data cells or structure at once.
    Thanking You,
    Devi

  • Web Application Designer - Concatenate two queries

    Hi All,
we using BI 7.0 SAP GUI 6.40 Support Package 14.
I created two Queries one with characteristics within hierarchy(1) and one for the result (2).
I put the first one in filter pane item (1) and the analysis item for the second (2).
If I executing the query I see a drop down menü for the first query (1) and the complete report on the second query(2).
So, when I choose a characteristics from the drop down(2) there don`t changed the data at the second query(2) (result).
How can I concatenate 2 Queries in Web Application Designer?
Please give me a step-by-step solution.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Wolfgang

Basically you have one query in your dropdown box and when you select one from the dropdown box you want to affect the second query. If that is the objective, then you can do that only in one query, attach the field you need in the dropdown box and create view for the table (analysis Item) and attach the view to the item. Make sure in the first dropdown box, check on the affected area which is going to be the table (analysis Item).
    thanks.

  • Expert on web application designer comes in!

    Hi Colleagues,
Here is an issue on the web application designer. i want to use the exception showing function (red light, green light) with the help of the web application designer. So firstly, i set some exception in the query and on the web application designer, i choose "exception visualization"  as "symbol". Then i save the web query and execute, the exception shows, but in a arrow trend way, not the red light or the green light. It seems that the tool has by defult set arrow trend as the 'symbol'. But from the exception details, i find there are 2 options for 'symbol': status (one i want) and arrow trend. How can I change the default setting? Thanks.
If necessary, we can have a netmeeting.
    Urgently waiting for ur reply.
    Best Regards,
    Clark

    Hi Clark,
You have to implement the module com.sap.ip.bi.rig.ExceptionImage.
Select the Analysis Web Item -> Web Item Parameters -> Internal Display
    Select Modification -> Single Module
    Implementation Name: com.sap.ip.bi.rig.ExceptionImage
    Select Type as Generic Module
Set the Parameter Name based on the Alert Level set in the Query Exception.
    For example :
    Green      u2013 ALERT_3 (Alerts 1 to 3)
    Yellow      u2013 ALERT_4 (Alerts 4 to 6)
    Red     u2013 ALERT_8 (Alerts 7 to 9)
Since you want to display the Traffic lights in the Web Report, select Image as the Value from the dropdown box.
Provide the URL for the images stored in the MIME Repository depending on the Alert Level.
    Green - bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/BEx/Icons/s_s_ledg.gif
    Yellow - bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/BEx/Icons/s_s_ledy.gif
    Red - bwmimerep:///sap/bw/mime/BEx/Icons/s_s_ledr.gif
The images will be stored in SE80 -> Mime Repository under SAP -> BW -> BEx -> Icons
    Green - s_s_ledg.gif
    Yellow - s_s_ledy.gif
    Red - s_s_ledr.gif
The Exception Visualization drop down in Cell Content Area of the Analysis Web Item should be set to display Symbols.
If this is not set, the Report would continue to display Exception Colors in the cell background.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Hari.

  • Hiding table columns in web application designer

    Hi,
Can anyone please tell me how to hide the columns of a table which im using in a web application template as analysis. E.g : if i have 7 columns in my table and i dont want to show that particular column  i.e 7th and m using the same query somewhere else also to show other information so i cannot change my query but i want to hide it at web application designer level.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks & Regards

    Hi Preetha,
I think best solution to your problem(keeping future enhancements in mind) is to create a query view based on the query that you are using.
Move the unwanted characteristics to free chars section or hide the unwanted key figures.
    Then resave this query view.
You can use this query view as a data provider to this table.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • How to suppress Result rows in a Query in Web Application Designer

    Hi
I am trying to post a query in Web Application Designer. I am able to run the query in WAD but the Results rows appear. I choose Suppress Result Rows always in All Characteristics option in the query in BEx Explorer but still i see result rows in the WAD. Can anyone please let me know how to suppress Result rows so that they dont appear in Web Application Designer.
    Thanks,
    Padma

    To get the enhanced menu-
    1. Open the template in WAD.
    2. Go to Web Item properties.
    3. Go to Entries in Context Menu.
    4. Find the "Enhanced Menu" property. Set it to "display" if you want it to be visible in template result.
    5. Next time when you execute your template you will be able to access it by right clicking.
    or
If you just want to supress results without adding enhanced menu in the context menu, simply set "Calculate result as" to "No Display".

  • Insert a  BSP Application in  Web Application designer template (WAD)

    Hello to all
I like to place a BSP Application in my Web Application designer template (WAD). Have someone a good idea how to display a BSP in a web item.
    We use BW 7.0 .
Thanks a lot for any good idea.

    Christian,
There are many ways you can do this ...
    1. In Portal - you can have two iviews for the same and run both of them together ( there was something called client side eventing or something like that before - I am not sure if it still exists
    2. In WAD - use frames - use one frame for the WAD template and the other for the BSP ( I have never tried it in WAD 7.0 but it works in 3.x where you can introduce frames
    3. Possibly have the BSP as a link in the template so that it opens up separately ..?
    4. Instead of embedding the BSP into your WAD - embed your WAD into the BSP ..? this is also possible since the output of the template is HTML - but then you will have a hard time getting the context menu , export to excel etc which are all taken for granted in WAD.
