Web Application Designer - Chart Item - BW Release 3.5

Hello,
I have a problem with the new chart item in BW 3.5.
I cannot show the data table within the chart item.
In BW 3.0B there was an easy possibilty to switch "show data table" on/off.
Please help!

You can still do this, but you will need to add it to the HTML code.

Web Application Designer - Chart (Bar Chart) - Value description of chart

Hi Community,
i use the Web Application Designer in BW 3.5 to create a bar chart with the chart web item (Bar chart). Everything works fine - but in the query the values are 10.000.000 and much more. The description in the chart lokks like 10000000 - Nobody can handle this information in the chart - i could not change the values in the ODS. Is there a possibility to show only steps in 1.000.000 in the chart. In the chart description it should look like 10 and the in a text "in billion".
Is the chart designer in the WAD possible to habdle this ? Hope you have a solution

Web Application Designer: Chart loading Error.

Hello Experts,
Could you please suggest. I have included the Chart Web Item > defined the DataProvider. When I execute the web template, I get this error.
"Error When Calling Up IGS (partner not reached (host bwdbp1.ct.pb.com, service sapgw00) / CPI-C err)"

is the IGS configured correctly? Restart the IGS service.
test the IGS connection using programs BW_IGS_CHART_TEST and BW_IGS_ADMIN

Web Application Designer - Analysis Item

Hi Experts,
We are using Analysis Iten property (Column From And Colum To) to display one few key figures from Query. This is because we are using same query for differnt Analysis items with differnt key figures.Now issue is we are having few key figure nodes collapsed in Quey designer. Analysis item is not considering the sub key figures of collapsed note. So whenever we expand a node a run time,the key figures at the end are not getting displayed. Please provide any solution for this issue.

It is because the column numbering changes when you expand a collapsed keyfigure.
Create a query view with the keyfigure(s) that you need for the analysis web item. Then use this query view for the analysis web item and remove the settings on Column From/To properties.

Web Application Designer Charts size shrink

HI ,
We have recently upgraded our BW system from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 as a part of which we have upgraded our web templates in WAD 7.0 as well. Post this, the Charts that are available in the web templates have shrinked/reduced in size in the new system compared to the older system and the labels have got toppled. We have not done any changes on the web templates apart from opening and saving them in WAD 7.0.
Please advise.

Hi Subhash,
The migration of web templates from 3.x to 7.0 has one of these difficulties. We faced many such issues ourselves. Most web items like charts do not get migrated specially if they have been defined by some classes and parameters in 3.x.
The best solution in this case is to go to those web items and drag the required type of chart and assign the dataprovider to it. Also, to define the charts with specific propserties in case they were present in 3.x version.

Web Application Designer Chart with additional Line

Hi Guys,
today a customer asked me to insert a line into a WAD Chart.
This customer wants to show with this line the plan income.
So it's an easy horizontal line, but i dont know how to insert this into the chart...
I tried to do it with a trendline, but i didnt succeed to format this trendline as a horizontal...

Hi
In web template there is no option to enter the value and display it in the chart.
Always it reads the data from the report and displays in the required format like chart or table etc..
If you want to display the entered value based on the sales dept then you need a transactional cube where the user can enter the Value via BPS dialouge and that can be displayed in a keyfigure in the report so that you will get the display in the Chart (Line)

Web Application Designer Chart settings disappear when WAD is opened again

Hi experts,
i am bulding a dashboard with several speedos and other kind of charts with WAD 7.0.
When i save my Webtemplate and re-open it again - all my chart settings of the Speedos are gone - all of them are only a few pixels in size then and unreadable. After setting all parameters back to the desired values and saving it again. I can execute the Webtemplate and its is showed as it should be.
But when i close the WT and open it again - the game starts from the beginning and i have to set all parameters again.
Any Ideas?

Web Application Designer broadcast select Web Items

Hello all,
I have a request to use the broadcast only select web items, Chart/Analysis items only in a Web Application Designer Template. Is this possible? I've tried the option "Data Binding" Report [ITEM_REF] but that didn't work and brought everything in my Web Template in my PDF broadcast to Email. It seems to ignore the Data Binding and bring everything in the template, pictures, Charts, Analysis items. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to select only select web items to broadcast via PDF?

Navigational charts in Web Application Designer

Hello all,
I have a question regarding actionable charts in Web Application Designer. For example a user selects a bar in a chart and based on that selection filters to additional reports or changes existing charts/tables in the Web Application Designer? I know you can right click and setup RRI then goto functionality but I would like the capability to click on the bar chart and then proceed with the action.
I know this can be done with Geo enabled Map Web Items where you click on a state/country and drill in for additional information but I'd like to know if it can be done with in charts. I know there is an option in WAD to setup Eventing, maybe there you set the onclick event to do the function?
Any help is appreciated.

Web Application Designer: Change Table Chart to Line Format

Dear Experts,
We, as novices of the web application designer, encounter a problem in using this program. After having created a Chart table, we cannot changed it to the line format.
The things that we perform are as follows:
1) Right click and choose lines format
2) Give it all titles
3) Click Next until finish
However, the result is still the chart table. Is there anyone who kindly give me steps of how to change it.

Please try the following:
1. Highlight the chart.
2. In the Web Item Properties for chart, go to Edit Chart.
3. Click on the ... incon
4. Pick Lines
5. Pick a type of Lines graph.
6. Follow the wizard to change the required properties.

To use Web Application Designer release 2004s do we need to have portals???

I would like some clarity regarding whther we need a portal or not.
If you use Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x) it works fine, you can create reports and then it shows in SAP Easy Access under favourites. Executes fine, no portal is used.
Now when I want to use the new Web Application Designer I can not execute the reports. Gives me error
"Java communication error: RFC destination NOT_CONFIGURED does not exist", the window it appears in has a text saying it can't conect to the portal. Then notes that I look at regarding this seems that the connection between SAP BW and Portal must be set up.
So can please someone tell me whether you need the portal to use the new Web Application Designer release 2004s

Problem - over lie of data series in Line chart (Web Application Designer)

Dear Experts,
I have created a chart with below requiments from my user by using web application designer.
1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
The line chart of Key Figure 3 must always appear in Front then others Key Figures.
Then following by, Key Figure 4. Last is Key Figure 5.
As I know the order of display line chart is infflucing by the order of Key Figure in structure by descending, likes below
1) Key Figure 3 (Rank of front -> 3rd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
2) Key Figure 4 (Rank of front -> 2nd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
3) Key Figure 5 (Rank of front -> 1st; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
So, I have conflict on fulfilling these 2 request on assigning the color and control their visibility and lines over lie.
Please advice me if you have any suggestion on controlling the lines order.

I think I should further elaborate the problems. Thanks for your highlight.
I have a lines chart with five key figures. So my chart will have five lines.
Some lines from chart will overlap if the data are same.
When overlapping of lines happens, I want to control the order of which series should be appear first.
Likes below example,
1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK; Visibility: Visible)
4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
           KF1 KF2 KF3 KF4 KF5
CW 1    30     30    80    80    50
CW 2    40     50    90    60    90
CW 3    70     50    90    90    90
CW 4    80     70    70    90    70
As you can see, there is overlap in these value.
CW 1 KF3, KF4 -->80
CW 2 KF3, KF5 --> 90
CW 3 KF3, KF4, KF5 --> 90
The order which i want the series should appear first when overlapping.
- KF3 must appear on top.
- Then, follow by KF5
- Last is KF4.
So now, i have no idea to control the overlap orders except adjusting the sequence of keyfigure from query.

How to create own Web Items for Web Application Designer

Hi all,
is it possible to create own Web Items for the Bex Web Application Designer? Each Web Item has a Master Web Item and a class that is responsible for rendering data. I need a solution to get the Web Item's data - i.e. the content of a table (if Web Item = table). So my approach would be to create an own (Standard) Web Item with an own class. For example I would like to change the table's Web Item parameter <param name="ITEM_CLASS" value="CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_GRID"/> to an own class...
Is this possible?
Or ist there any possibility to get the Web Item's data by an interface?

WEB application designer - Web items - How to create new

Hi!
Is there a way to create new web item in web application designer, and <b>NOT</b> a copy of existing with different parameters (Web items located under Standard tab).
It would expand possibilities of web app. designer a lot!
Another question is, how to use BSP elements in BEX WEB reports (templates). Is this possible or not?

Hi,
in principal you can write new web items but this is not supported by SAP as this is a modification.
You would inherit from a standard web item class (for example CL_RSR_WWW_ITEM_VIEW) and maintain tables rsrrenderer rsrrendereratr rsrrenderert and optionally rsrrendererdep
BSP itself can not be used, unless you include a BSP Application via Iframes in your Web template.

Hi experts:
I want to know if there is chart interface in web application designer?when i click a node in the chart ,it can triggle a js to jump to another page to show the detail? how I can do it?
I think there do have method to implement,as when I put the mouse on the node of the chart ,the "javascipt:;" shows in the status bar of the IE ,I don't know where can I write the JS ?

Hi Chan,
1. You type tcode RSBBS in BW system
2. Under Query Tab, there is 'Sender' field. You input the the origin query.
3. Click 'Create' button, you choose the report type that you want to jump into. In you case, if you want to jump into a web template, choose 'BW Web Application'
4. In 'Report' field, choose the destination query/web template.
