Web Application Designer Chart settings disappear when WAD is opened again

Hi experts,
i am bulding a dashboard with several speedos and other kind of charts with WAD 7.0.
When i save my Webtemplate and re-open it again - all my chart settings of the Speedos are gone - all of them are only a few pixels in size then and unreadable. After setting all parameters back to the desired values and saving it again. I can execute the Webtemplate and its is showed as it should be.
But when i close the WT and open it again - the game starts from the beginning and i have to set all parameters again.
Any Ideas?

Try reinstalling WAD in your system. Hope this may solve your problem.

Hi,
I uninstalled and installed again the GUI and Bex Explorer
I installed again SetUpAll.exe and selected:
--SAP GUI for Windows 7.10 (Compilations3)
--BW 3.50 Add-On for SAP GUI 7.10
--Business Explorer
On completion, I had two options for WAD:
--Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)
--Web Application Designer
When I point my mouse on "Web Application Designer " for selection, there is a message that
"Business Explorer Web Application Designer - Can only be used in SAP NetWeaver 7.1"
and when I go ahead to click on it, I get the error message I reported in my initial post
If I select Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x), it takes me in alright but the view is a bit different, in that in the New template of the Web Application, on the right pane, I do not see the icon for DataProvider which used to be there when I used to work in "Web Application Designer" instead of "Web Application Designer (SAP BW 3.x)"

Web Application Designer - Chart (Bar Chart) - Value description of chart

Hi Community,
i use the Web Application Designer in BW 3.5 to create a bar chart with the chart web item (Bar chart). Everything works fine - but in the query the values are 10.000.000 and much more. The description in the chart lokks like 10000000 - Nobody can handle this information in the chart - i could not change the values in the ODS. Is there a possibility to show only steps in 1.000.000 in the chart. In the chart description it should look like 10 and the in a text "in billion".
Is the chart designer in the WAD possible to habdle this ? Hope you have a solution

Web Application Designer: Chart loading Error.

Hello Experts,
Could you please suggest. I have included the Chart Web Item > defined the DataProvider. When I execute the web template, I get this error.
"Error When Calling Up IGS (partner not reached (host bwdbp1.ct.pb.com, service sapgw00) / CPI-C err)"

Web Application Designer Charts size shrink

HI ,
We have recently upgraded our BW system from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0 as a part of which we have upgraded our web templates in WAD 7.0 as well. Post this, the Charts that are available in the web templates have shrinked/reduced in size in the new system compared to the older system and the labels have got toppled. We have not done any changes on the web templates apart from opening and saving them in WAD 7.0.

Hi Subhash,
The migration of web templates from 3.x to 7.0 has one of these difficulties. We faced many such issues ourselves. Most web items like charts do not get migrated specially if they have been defined by some classes and parameters in 3.x.
The best solution in this case is to go to those web items and drag the required type of chart and assign the dataprovider to it. Also, to define the charts with specific propserties in case they were present in 3.x version.

Web Application Designer Chart with additional Line

Hi Guys,
today a customer asked me to insert a line into a WAD Chart.
This customer wants to show with this line the plan income.
So it's an easy horizontal line, but i dont know how to insert this into the chart...
I tried to do it with a trendline, but i didnt succeed to format this trendline as a horizontal...

In web template there is no option to enter the value and display it in the chart.
Always it reads the data from the report and displays in the required format like chart or table etc..
If you want to display the entered value based on the sales dept then you need a transactional cube where the user can enter the Value via BPS dialouge and that can be displayed in a keyfigure in the report so that you will get the display in the Chart (Line)

Web Application Designer - Chart Item - BW Release 3.5

I have a problem with the new chart item in BW 3.5.
I cannot show the data table within the chart item.
In BW 3.0B there was an easy possibilty to switch "show data table" on/off.

Error in Web application designer in BI7.0

Hi,
If we try to create the template and save, it is showing the following error.
JAVA COMMUNICATION ERROR RFC_DESTINATION IS NOT CONFIGURED.
we tried some RFC connections in the backend . It is showing BI metadata for BSM is outdated. I checked the necessary settings according to note :888687.
But we are able to check the RFC connection between ABAP and portal.
But we are getting the same error. While saving the template which created. it showing the error and i am not able to save the template
Please help in this issue..

Meanwhile chk Trans: SM59 for RFC connection
IN Visual Admin check the JCo RFC Provider is properly configured with backend username.
Chk all the JCo related to BI are working properly either with SSO or User mapping
Chk in Table RSPOR_T_PORTAL the portal URL is proper or not
(transaction code SM30).
2. Enter RSPOR_T_PORTAL as the table.
3. Choose Maintain.
4. Choose New Entries to create a new entry.
5. Maintain the connected portal:
RFC destination: <RFC_DESTINATION>
System name: <SYSTEMALIAS>
Default: <DEFAULT>
Portal URL prefix: <PORTAL_URL_PREFIX>, for example, http://<portalserver><domain>:<port>
Prefix of RM for BW Metadata: <KM_RM_METADATA_PREFIX>, for example, /bw_metadata
KM service URL: <blank>
Referesh the MetaData Service in BI Web Application Designer under settings try to connect you SAPRFC.ini file set enviroment variables for the same.

Opening template issue in Web Application Designer (Loading problem)

Hi,
When i open a query in Web Application Designer through the BWdev, it is opening but when i open a query in Web Application Designer through the BWProduction it is not opening, it is displaying a msg box like this
" Operation Failed! NO detailed error information from backend available ".
In the opening of the webtemplate itself it is showing that box when loading mime type imgs.
If anybody knows pls send msg.

Chart problems in Web-Application Designer

Hello,
I am trying to use CHART in Web Application Designer.
But whatever TYPE I select in that (pie/stack/..),
It shows the report with default chart type..
Then after one /two trials, I have run time error. & Web application Designer crashes. In preview of that chart on template, it shows the chart type I have selected.
What am I missing in my steps. Or is some library missing..

Defining the Width and Height of the Entire Chart
in the Properties
Enter the desired values in fields Width and Height of the window in which you are editing the chart. The entries should be in pixels.
Choose Apply.
The size of the entire chart is changed according to your specifications.
Changing the Size of the Entire Chart with the Mouse
Point to the border of the preview window with the mouse.
The cursor becomes a double arrow.
Click on the border and pull the preview window to the required size.
The size of the entire chart is changed when you let go of the mouse key.
Changing the Size of the Plot Area or the Legend with the Mouse
Click on the element whose size you want to change (plot area or legend).
The element is enclosed in a move handle.
Point to one of the move handles with the mouse.
The cursor becomes a double arrow.
If the cursor does not become a double arrow, you might not have selected the right element, for example the chart area instead of the plot area. In this case click again on the element whose size you want to change.
Click on the move handle and keep the mouse key pressed.
The cursor becomes a cross.
Pull the element to the desired size.
The size of the element is changed when you let go of the mouse key.
Avoid stretching the plot area over the whole area of the chart. The outermost border of the plot area disappears from the visible area in this case and cannot be clicked on again. You cannot change the size of the plot area. If you made the plot area too large by accident, you can undo it with the menu option Undo in the context menu. You can reset the plot area to its original size with Reset, but you will lose all the changes you made to the chart.

It is simple issue D't worry..And one morething is Check the Specific Properties of the Template in Design of the web template.

Unable to open WAD (web application designer) in BW 3.5!

when i open WAD through menu path (start->programs
->Business explorer->Web application designer), i am getting the following error!

Please log on to a Netweaver BI 7.x system. System J2E does not have the minimum version required 70005.
I just can`t understand from where i got this BI 7.x system, when my system is BW 3.5 (NW04 platform).
can any one expalin me what is this problem? and suggest me to over come this problem?

Hi Ravi!
I assume that you installed the SAP GUI 6.40 with BI Addin (which contains the BI Frontend for SAP NetWeaver 2004s BI).
In this case, you have a sub folder underneath "Business Explorer" in your startmenu named "Business Explorer (SAP BW 3.x)".
You have to use this version of the BEx Web Application Designer.
If this is not the case, please create a Support Message with all detailed information (backend and frontend versions).

Problem - over lie of data series in Line chart (Web Application Designer)

Dear Experts,
I have created a chart with below requiments from my user by using web application designer.
1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
The line chart of Key Figure 3 must always appear in Front then others Key Figures.
Then following by, Key Figure 4. Last is Key Figure 5.
As I know the order of display line chart is infflucing by the order of Key Figure in structure by descending, likes below
1) Key Figure 3 (Rank of front -> 3rd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
2) Key Figure 4 (Rank of front -> 2nd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
3) Key Figure 5 (Rank of front -> 1st; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
So, I have conflict on fulfilling these 2 request on assigning the color and control their visibility and lines over lie.
Please advice me if you have any suggestion on controlling the lines order.

I have a lines chart with five key figures. So my chart will have five lines.
Some lines from chart will overlap if the data are same.
When overlapping of lines happens, I want to control the order of which series should be appear first.
Likes below example,
1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK; Visibility: Visible)
4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
           KF1 KF2 KF3 KF4 KF5
CW 1    30     30    80    80    50
CW 2    40     50    90    60    90
CW 3    70     50    90    90    90
CW 4    80     70    70    90    70
As you can see, there is overlap in these value.
CW 1 KF3, KF4 -->80
CW 2 KF3, KF5 --> 90
CW 3 KF3, KF4, KF5 --> 90
The order which i want the series should appear first when overlapping.
- KF3 must appear on top.
- Then, follow by KF5
- Last is KF4.
So now, i have no idea to control the overlap orders except adjusting the sequence of keyfigure from query.

Unable to open WAD (Web Application Designer) SAP BW 3.x

i make click start-> programs -> Business Explorer-> Business Explorer(SAP BW 3.x)-> Web Application Designer(SAP BW 3.x)
appears following error:
This application requires Internet Explorer 5 or higher
but I have installed the Internet Explorer 8 version
then I do not understand because can´t run the WAD 3.x

whether if it is which version of WAD but I am interested in running and to open the Web Application Designer in any of the versions: 3.x or 7.0, but the important is that can be work with some WAD model because in version Web Application Designer 7.0 is enable pero when i search some WAD model (I know that it exists in the system) The system search says it does not exist or no found.
I can't try uninstalling because I'm not a support person so I have not authorization, I'm a consultant and only want to work with WAD models

Freeze a Column in WAD (Web Application Designer)

Hi,
I have a web template in WAD that has an analysis_item, which data provider (DP1). The data provider (DP1) has a query attached to it.
My goal is to be able to freeze a column (data column) in the analysis_item.
I looked at all the properties of the analysis_item, but I didn't find any properties that I can use to freeze a column. I saw another discussion thread on Freezing column and rows, but there wasn't an answer for it in that thread.
I even tried to search for a way to freeze a column using JavaScript , and I found the link below using CSS (cascading style sheet) to accomplish the freezing of a column for a non SAP web application. However, I was not able to figure out how to apply this method in WAD and specifically in the analysis_item.

Freeze column
On the properties tab select table. goto web item tab. in number of data columns displayed put value as 4. (you can change as per ur need).

For visiblity
you can set visible rows and columns in the specific properties of web item table! Just click the table in the Web Application Designer and than look into the specific properties. Select "Number of Data Rows..." or "Number of Data Columns..." as you wish!
