Web Archive in ColdFusion
Hi There,
I wonder if it is possible to apply WAR file under ColdFusion
environment... How?
We have a lot of web applications written in Java Studio
Creator and exported as WAR in J2EE 1.3. And, we have problem to
run both ColdFusion and Tomcat together. So, how can I run the WAR
in ColdFusion environment? Or, it is completely out of questions?

When you right-click, do you see this screen?
Choose Save Page As, and then you have the opportunity to (re)name the file and select the Web Archive format as shown below.

Hey all! Recently got an IPad Mini. Already have a Macbook. I have a folder full of songs(lyrics and chords) on the Mac. The file type inside the folder are all "Web Archive". I am trying to transfer this folder to my Mini, via Bluetooth. It won't allow me to transfer, it says "device missing services"? I have no idea what this means. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
You can't transfer files to another device using bluetooth.
I'm not really sure you can transfer web archives from mac to iOS device using itunes or icloud. Remember, on an iOS device, any file has to belong to an app. The device does not have a file system like the mac where you can move files into any folder you want. -
Background: I started this blog while living overseas and going to sea with the Navy. Missed the opportunity to move the iWeb files with content attached from the mobile.me server to another server. Now, I have the original web archive files - good - but not the comments added to them by family and friends - bad.
My ultimate objective is to create a hard-cover bound book of these files with the comments on the blog ... they document a rather significant experience in my family's life ... to do this, I need to recover the original files with postings.
Any thoughts or insight would be sincerely appreciated!

If you read the OP's post and my reply, you will see that he will not be able to recover his blog and neither will you.
If your Mac was stolen and you did not back up your iWeb domain.sites files, then you CANNOT get your blog back.
If you published your site to a host/server, then you can download it back onto your Mac and you will have to re-build your blog/website from scratch and re-publish, but all your replies and responses to posts will be lost and you can never get these back.
My advice would be to re-create your blog in another format such as WordPress.com which is free and don't use iWeb again.
There are plenty of alternatives out there. -

How do I save a document that says it is a web archive
I signed up to convert pdfs into word format but now I don't know how to save the converted document into my files. It says it is a web archive and I cannot work with the document. I can't cut and paste. What do I need to do?
When you say you want to convert PDFs to Word, there is no obvious link with Adobe's RoboHelp product. Are you in fact working with RoboHelp or have you perhaps asked in the wrong forum?

Thanks for reading. I have a number of web archives saved and understood them to save whatever was shown, notwithstanding future changes to the page. Am I correct in my understanding?
Trying to open some (not all) of these pages, I get "There was one opening error... choose Activity from the Window menu." The pages will not open.
Choosing Activity shows-
"file:///Users/martin_bell/Documents/Documents/Finances/Sandys%20Tax/Sandy's%20 return%202006:2007.webarchive 1 of 2 items (1 error)".
These were saved on a previous iMac and transfered using target disk mode. Any ideas?

safari & webarchives is a little err, less than ideal... although most of the images/items are stored in the archive - they don't always seem to get displayed by safari if they're no longer on the web - hmmm.
web archive folderizer extracts all stored items from the webarchive into folders, but doesn't produce a nice, easy to click icon that displays it all in a browser - however, it might let you find the items that don't show up. -

This is the message I get whenever I try to access the page for class outlines, ect. They are usually powerpoint type things, but they open in Word (on Windows).
I have tried using Firefox, Opera, Safari, Internet Explorer, copy/paste into Word, and saving it as a PDF. It works perfectly on Internet Explorer when using Windows.
Is there anyway I'll be able to access these kinds of pages while I'm on a Mac?

That's because you're not saving the pictures you're saving the page that contains them.
Drag and drop the images from the Safari Window to the desktop and then import them from there to iPhoto.
iPhoto is not a web browser and cannot read web archives. -

If I make a web archive of a page ("Save as...") that has thumbnails which you can click on to see the full-size image, and the original page is eventually taken off the web, will I still be able to access the full-size images? It seems that a click causes the page to run a script and retrieve a separate jpg...so maybe I should use a site-archiving app, that downloads separate jpgs, rather than using Safari's built-in feature.
Thanks for your help,The Mozilla-based browsers, which includes Firefox or Camino, save a web page as an html document with a folder of all the images so that it can be viewed in any browser at any time. There are also various utilities listed on VersionTracker to download multiple layers of a web site.

Opening Safari for Mac Web Archives in Safari for Windows???
I need to open Safari for Mac Web Archives (saved html web pages on a Mac) on my Windows PC at work. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this? The original Web Pages are no longer available and the data in the Archives is the only set left.
I've tried opening the files with Safari for Windows but that doesn't work. I've also tried renaming the web archives from file.webarchive to file.html and that doesn't work either.
Does anyone out there have any suggestions for accomplishing this task??? Thanks in advance for your help!
YVIf you can move your archives to a Mac I think you can convert them to folders with Webarchive Folderizer and then move back to your pc:

AppleScript: Safari - Save As Web Archive
The title says it all: Can someone tell me please how - most likely via UI scripting, since I can't see anything in the dictionary - I can get Safari to save the front most document as a Web Archive using AppleScript?
This is one I have recently written that saves all tabs in a window, it remembers the parent folder until next time, and also uses the webarchive ending when Safari is in doubt. You can set properties for whether you like it to overwrite or not. Please look at Macscripter for any updates.

Web Services with ColdFusion and PHP mixed
Hi,
We need to used web services provided by remote server. The
problem is the
remote server is on PHP and our server is on ColdFusion. Is
there a way to
use the web services on PHP server with our ColdFusion
server?
I understand ColdFusion automatically generate the WSDL by
adding ?wsdl
after the CFC, but I can't do the same thing because the
remote server is
not on ColdFusion. They have given us the wsdl web address,
but it seems
using the wsdl address directly without CFC is not working.
Is that right?
Please let me know.
YCFrom the coldfusion side of things, it all seems okay what
you are doing. It
is an issue with the php/wsdl side of things. I can access
the wsdl ok, but

Why does a specific web archive file show in a finder search by a specific person's name?
When searching by specific person's name in Finder, a specific .web archive file saved from a Safari browsing session appears. Why is this? Was the person's name entered into the browsing session? Was the .web archive file sent to the person?

I'm trying to save a flash movie that has many different small sections. When saving as a web archive, only the current section is saved. Is there anyway to save the entire movie as a single file that i can view offline? Or if not, is there anyway to consolidate each section of the movie after saving as seperate web-archives? I don't know how to do this and associate it to the web archive without editing the web archive itself, but you can save the flash movie.
First, you will need to view the source of the website. When you are in the HTML, search for "swf" I went to www.nba.com and did this. I get this link:
http://www.nba.com/media/nbacommainHeaderv02.swf
now ust paste that link into your browser. You can now save the page and it should save it as a SWF (Shock Wave Flash) file.
If it doesn't work in Safari, try FireFox for OS X (www.getfirefox.com)
