Web AS 620 - upgrade to 640 kernel & J2EE 640 - CRM 4.0
Hi
We are running CRM 4.0 (SP6) with 620 kernel (1902) and J2EE 6.20. This is running on Web AS 6.20. We implemented I.C Web Client and Mobile Sales functionaility with CRM.
We are planning to upgrade to 640 Kernel (ABAP). Any prerequisites or known problems with direct upgrade to 640 kernel in Web AS 6.20 and also any dependencies with J2EE engine since we are using IC Web Client?
Or do we also have to uprade to J2EE 640 Engine?
Your inputs on this would be highly appreciated.
Regards
Chandu
Hi Chandu,
in our schenario when we want to use CRM SAF we raise the message to SAP they told me that both kernel is to be same.
but in one of the CRM server we upgrade the kernel of CRM server from 6.20 to 6.40 and J2EE server is 6.20 our application is run without any error.
if u want to upgrde ur Kernel, upgrade it, but make sure to backup the old kernel,
than after test the application. i'm sure it's works, in some case error than revert back.
if ur problem is solved close this forum
regards,
kaushal

Upgrade to 640 - sapUrDomainRelaxing is undefined
We recently upgraded our WebAS from 620 to 640 (I believe the support pack level is 10 on 640). I had written several custom BSP apps on the 620 system which had no errors. Now, however, we receive a JavaScript error of "sapUrDomainRelaxing is undefined" when the app is loading. This happens when we use Design2003, but it doesn't occur when we use Design2002. Furthermore, the stylesheets do not seem to be loading correctly because the screens look terrible (font, colors, etc.). However, at this point I am focusing on the JavaScript error.
I apologize if this has already been covered. I performed several searches and didn't see this exact topic covered by another thread.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Sincere regards,
Shannon

Hi, all
I have an oracle 10g(10.1.0.2) database running on a linux server (RedHat Linux e3). The linux kernel is 2.4.21-20.ELsmp.
Because we need to upgrade the ASM to make the backup stuff run well, we have to upgrade the linux kernel. The latest linux e3 kernel is 2.4.21-53.ELsmp, but the latest ASMlib 2.0 driver is for 2.4.21-52.ELsmp.
Could I upgrade the ASM under the -53 kernel? Or we have to install the -52 kernel?
Thanks a lot!
QianWhether you can is far less important than whether you should.

Kernel Upgrade Release 640 Patch 175
Dear Basis Gurus,
We are planning to upgrade SAP Kernel for Release 640 and Patch 109.
We have referred oss note Note 1027100 - CST Patch Collection 08 2007 and this note suggest to go for patch level :
4.6D: 2307
6.40: 171
7.00: 98
I have checked the service market place and I didn't find the Patch Level 171. Instead I foud Patch level 175.
1) Can you please let me know if since Patch Level 171 is not the latest, can I got for Patch level 175 ?
2) Can you also please let me know which files I need to download other than SAPEXE_175-10004469.SAR and SAPEXEDB_175-10004468.SAR ?
Should I need to download dw_193-10004469.sar and R3trans_192-10004469.SAR and tp_193-10004469.sar ? If you see this has the patch level 193 and for R3trans it is 192 ?
How to decide for Patch Level 175, which other files can go ?
Do we really need to replace other files like R3trans, tp ? or only those in SAPEX*.SAR ?
3) What would be the correct approach ? I am planning to replace kernel 1st in Development system, then Consoldiation system and then Test system and then finally Production system ? is this correct approach ?
Any prompt help on this will be highly appreciated ?
Thanks
Best Regards

Runtime Error "RUNT_ILLEGAL_SWITCH" after Kernel upgrade to 640 (274)
Hi All,
We have upgraded our kernel from 640 (175) to 640 (274) after which we are getting frequent runtime errors RUNT_ILLEGAL_SWITCH in thousands. The program that is terminating is "SAPMSDYP" because of the incorrect system state.
We are on Sun Solaris, Oracle 9.2.0.4 with SAP 4.7 (640)
This is specifically happening in Test system. TheDev system is fine with the new kernel. This also happens only on the central Instance of the test system.
Can you please help me if you have had this situation and steps to solve it.
Thanks
VijayHi,
This is most likely due to buffer inconsistancy problem, have you tried rebooting the server?
Also take a look at SAP note 351695.

How to Upgrade java version on J2EE Engine Server?
Hi Experts,
We are running the NetWeaver 2004s SP 7 with Java version 1.4.2_08 on the server, but we would like to upgrade the system and be able to upgrade to Java version 1.5. How do we start? We would greatly appreciate your responses.
Thanks,

Can you explain this more accurately? For example the OS version
Are you say about SUN or IBM JDK? I'm think you say about SUN JDK ...when only 1.4.2.XXXX can be installed for

Now upon inspection of my system I found that my /lib/modules/3.3.8-1-ARCH/kernel/ looks like this:
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 Jun 5 09:30 extramodules -> ../extramodules-3.3-ARCH
drwxr-xr-x 12 root root 4096 Jun 5 09:29 kernel
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 703194 Jun 5 09:29 modules.alias
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 688762 Jun 5 09:29 modules.alias.bin
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2702 Jun 5 09:29 modules.builtin

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 355147 Jun 5 09:29 modules.symbols.bin
so it makes sense that the directory and files are not found. The question is where is the problem?
Was my Arch web install bad or is there a problem with today's kernel upgrade?

Terminator & Gcool,
Thank you both for your help.
I ended up following the link Terminator posted in his reply and I was able to solve the problem.
Unlike pineapple-biku (in the aforementioned thread) I did not chroot my machine I just:
pacman -S udev
pacman -S mkinitcpio
mkinitcpio -p linux
pacman -S linux
and that solved the problem.
It's odd, however, the number of people having similar problems upgrading the kernel ... seems like there is a bug somewhere that seems to
affect people that "meet certain criteria".
Thanks gain guys!!

Note that all the missing modules are '.ko', rather than the gzipped '.ko.gz' that you should expect with the arch kernel. This indicates that depmod failed when you installed the kernel. -

I have looked at "weblogic.knex.dispatcher.HttpRequest" class. It seems like
this class tries to cast the response object to "ServletResponseImpl" class,
so ClassCastException is thrown.
Is there any workaround for this issue, since my code is compliance with
J2EE standard. Thank you very much in advanced.

OSX Mountain Lion Upgrade causes Restart, Kernel Panics
Have tried resetting PRAM, repairing permissions, and Disk Repair. This is happening after an upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion. A fresh install is not a possibility. of course, I have a time machine backup and can go back to snow leopard if I have to. I cannot do a clean Mountain Lion install although I am planning to do one just to see if this is a hardware issue and not a software issue, and then revert back with time machine. I'm not having any luck discerning what caused the actual reboot.
There is no particular action I take that causes this. It happens randomly. It has been happening since the upgrade today. I installed XCode4 on the computer from the app store, which did not upgrade but instead put another copy of Xcode. There was a thread I researched where someone suggests removing an AppleProfileFamily file from Sytem/Library, but I do not have that file on my system.
Here's the log:

After much more research, I found that people with my video card have been having this issue since OSX Lion and Apple still hasn't fixed it. This is incredibly disappointing. I will be contacting Apple for a refund on Mountain Lion soon if I can't find updated drivers.
Thanks very much for your help. -
Error 150:30 CS4 Web premium - Yosemite upgrade
I'm trying to recover from a Yosemite upgrade failure on my MacBook Pro. I used the Migration Assistant app to restore my Applications folder. When I launch any product from the suite, I get Error 150:30. I can't use the installer disk for CS4 Web Premium. I've attempted downloading it from the support site several times and it always fails. When I attempt to relaunch download in Safari, I get a message that I don't have permission to download the CS4 Web Premium installer.
Michael,
Thanks for the reply. I'm not running Yosemite. I'm still running Mavericks 10.9.5. CS4 worked fine in it. I'll try the cleaner and attempt another download.
Aaron
UPDATE: CS4 Installer doesn't work on Mavericks, although the apps were running before the failed Yosemite update. I've downloaded the installer but it doesn't launch. It behaves like a folder, showing the installer contents. Here is a screen shot.
UPDATE 2: The support reply was NOT helpful and didn't solve my problem. I'm not running Yosemite, if this post was read correctly.
I've downloaded CS4 Web Premium several times and it still doesn't work on 10.9.5.
