Web AS-Java 640 Add-In installation for XI

HI Guys,
We have installed Web-As ABAP 640 on Windows 2003 and MSSQL 2000 SP3 server.
We have created named instance called "SAPDEV01\SAPXI".
While installing Web As-Java 640 as a Add-In we have encounted following error:
"SEVERE: couldn't connect to DB
java.sql.SQLException: [DataDirect][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Login failed for user 'SAPGXDDB'. Reason: Not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection.
We have checked the authentication mode of MSSQL server, it is "SQL server and Windows", still we are facing the problem.
Please give us solution ASAP.
Regards,
Atul

Specific Requirements
Take the following specific requirements of the new installation process into consideration:
- The previous SAPInst installation service Java Add-In in SAP ERP 6.0/SAP NetWeaver
7.0 was able to add Java usage types such as EPC, or EP, to existing ABAP-only
systems. This was possible only, if you added AS Java at the same time. The option of a
Java Add-In installation is not any longer available as of the enhancement package 4 for
SAP ERP 6.0. Thus, it is not any longer possible, for example, to add EPC and EP
together with AS Java to an ABAP-only system.

    Hello!
we successfully upgraded our SAP ERP system to EHP4 for SAP.
Our system has only ABAP stack.
    Question
    1) Is it possible to install a Java Add-In instance for the existing EHP4 system?
    2) If yes, can this be done on the same Windows server?
    Thank you very much!

    Hi,
I was running into the same issue with Windows 2003 Server x64 and SQL Server 2005.  I followed the above suggestion of copying the java.exe executable into the SAP Patch Installation directory which for me was C:\Program Files\sapinst_instdir\PATCH\MSS.  Then, when I restarted the Patch Installation, I was able to move past this issue.
    Thanks for the help.

I've installed an ABAP stack and it works smoothly. Java Central Instance Service(add-in) and Java Database Instance(add-in) are both installed successfully. Hi
    I still got the problem.
    Here is some more details
    1. "Central Instance Java Add-in" installation.
    2. The step is "ABAP UME" (Enter the J2EE engine user passwords). System ask user to enter password of administrator user, password of communication user, and password for SDM.
I enter a password like james123, it does not go to next screen. then I try to input other passwords, it does not go to next screen either.  Does password cause the problem? What's the rule of password? And what's the return code 2 in below log file?
Here is the information which I can find out in file sapinst_dev.log.

  • Stack JAVA as Add-in installation

    Hello
This is my first time on forum.
We are installing a Java Add-in on our Development System
Abap only. The response of prerequisite checker is the necessity
to install Manteinance Level 5 and our Aix 5.3 is on ML 4 at OS level.
    <i>Prerequisite Checker finds one Condition
    with Severity High not met:
"For AIX 5.3 at least maintenance level 5 is required.
Current maintenance level: 4. (Updated 2006-10-06)".</i>
Speaking with our Sistemistic team they refer on some impacts of this
    ML.
Therefore the question is if install or not this ML 5 for stack Java?
Thanks in advance for any suggestion.

    Hi Paolo,
You can give it a shot but, even if it goes well, be aware that SAP may refuse to support your Java in case you need them to look at some issues.

    Mike

  • Java Add-In installation for Abap

    Hello Friends,
I have installed NW2004s Abap stack for use BW features.
Now, I need to install Java Add-In (including EP and BI Java to use BEX and Integrated Planning) in this same installation.
In SAPINST (Additional Software Lifecycle -> Java Add-in for Abap), have 3 steps to install J2EE Add-in:
    1 - Install SCS
    2 - Install database Instance
    3 - Install Central Instance
Is this correct? I really necessary to execute these steps? (for example, I have NW2004s database Abap running. Why I need to install database instance again?)
Anybody can help me in this procedure?
    Thanks,
    Carlos

    Hi Everyone.
My scenario is similar with one important difference.
I upgraded from BW 3.5 to BI 7.0. However we never had a java stack on BW before and i did not install one during the upgrade. now the guys want a java stack.
I read the message about putting in a BI Java add in to existing ABAP system. however our hardware for the Abap system is not very good. is it then possible to put the Java add in on another machine ?
What steps are required. Specifically do i run sapinst on the new hardware and what options do i specify.
I have worked in Basis for a long time but am new to this Java stuff, so as much details as possible would help.

  • WEB AS Java 640 and Sap Gateway

    Hello,
I have installed a J2EE 640 in HA for internet sales (ISA) in the following scenario:
SCS in failover switch group and a Central Instance on node A, Dialogue Instance node B.
Then I installed a SAP Gateway on node B for TREX 6.0, but I'm having a problem with GWS (Sap Gateway instance id) in MMC, this instance is appearing as defect after I have done a reboot to the cluster servers.
Does any one have a clue?
Can I install SAP Gateway on another server apart from TREX?

    Pedro,
you probably solved your problem a long time ago.
You don't need a standalone gateway for TREX.
Instead use the gateway on the CRM server.
I'm also currently doing a J2EE 640 HA for internet
sales and have come across a problem you may have had.
When I run sapinst to install the CRM Non Abap
components using the CRM 4.0 SR1 installation master
CD, it fails because it cannot find the Java profile
    directory. It should use
    <SCS-virthostname>\sapmnt
but instead it looks in the \usr\sap\<SID> directory
of the local CI installation and fails when it can't find the profile directory.
Did you have the same problem ?

  • Error during Java WS add in installation

    Hello,
I am receiving the following error when trying to install the Java WS 6.4 add - in to an existing ab-ap installation. We are using SQL Server 2000 on Windows Server 2003 and doing an ABAP / J2EE unicode installation. It looks like a database table it is looking for is missing. I looked in the SAP tables in the database and the table is indeed missing. Does anyone know if I've overlooked an installation step that would resolve this issue for me?

  • Java Mapping - add external jar for runtime use

    Hi,
I have implemented a java mapping which executes an XSLT transformation on the input XML. This way I can control (I hope) what XSLT processor is used, as I want to use the SAXON XSLT processor. The java mapping executes fine locally in NWDS.
But when executed runtime I get the following error in default_trace and the message stops in Integration Engine:
    javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactoryConfigurationError: Provider net.sf.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl not found
In my java mapping I have set the following:
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory", "net.sf.saxon.TransformerFactoryImpl");
The TransformerFactoryImpl class is implemented in saxon9.jar.
Where do I store the saxon9.jar on the server so that it will find it during execution?
    Any hints are most welcome!
    Br,
    Kenneth

    Hi Kenneth,
First of all java mapping procedure has the capacity to transform XML using SAX or DOM parser directly. I am not sure as to why you need "SAXON XSLT processor" for the purpose.
Now coming to your question  "Where do I store the saxon9.jar on the server so that it will find it during execution?"
In NWDS import the jar file saxon9.jar within your package, where you have written the source code. This you can do using File->import ->(ZIP or jar file).    Before you import slect the package or folder where you want to import the jar file. Once jar file import is complete execute the code once, see if its running properly. Then choose file->export and select all *.java and *.class files in your package. Save this under one filename say package.jar.
Finally import this jar file in PI server by usual methods.
    Hope this solves your problem

  • Java Add-In installation on a existing ABAP System (MSCS Cluster)

    Hi all
we try to install a Java Add-In for a already existing ABAP System with
SAPinst. The ABAP System is a NetWeaver2004s SR1 System in a MSCS Cluster.
We have the Problem that we can´t choose the Installation Drive during
the SAPInst Define Parameter Step during the "Central Services Instance (SCS) Java Add-In" Installation.
But in the Installation Manual for
NW2004s Java AS in Chapter 4.3.2 is stated:
"Caution: You must install it on the same shared disk as the ASCS instance."
If I run the Installation, the SCS will be installed on the local disk E:
beside the Central Instance. But it need to be on the shared Disk P:
beside the ASCS installation. How can I control this?
    Stefan

obviously the network share saploc is existing in your system an pointing to a local device.
Delete the local saploc share, install SCS instance, run MSCS first node, additional node, create the local share saploc again (don't forget to set permissions on the share, the default permission did only allow Read vor Everyone) and proceed with installation.
There is a note in creation for this issue.
